Why The Articles Of Confederation
This essay will examine why the Articles of Confederation; the first national compact that had
executive branch and legislative branch with limited national government power, failed to solve
national problems, inflation, depression. After the American Revolution, Americans were very
suspicious with a strong central government, as they think the United State government would control
over tariff and limited human rights just like what Great Britain had done in the past. On July of 1776,
John Dickinson submitted a blueprint for a strong national government to the Continental Congress,
however, his colleagues transformed his plan into a government that needs the state s authority to
execute any taxes, laws, or amendments. Since the national government holds very little power, this
created many conflicts such as tariffs, lack of finances to maintain the army, no power to end
rebellions. It was impossible for the Article of Confederation to solve any postwar problems that
America was facing at that time due to high unemployed sailors, debt ridden farmers, and destitute
widows and orphans.
The Articles of Confederation gives the congress to raise taxes, but the state has the authority to deny
to pay its expenses. The states paid roughly seventy percent of what they owed, most states paid
remarkably less (Georgia did not paid anything). This article negatively impacted America. As
America just granted independence from Great Britain, it was a very fresh country, the stability of

Paper Planning Themes
In the film Paper Planes, the director, Robert Connolly, creates the concept of beauty versus winning.
The film Paper Planes tells the story of Dylan, a young boy who starts his journey off in Australia and
on the way to becoming a Paper Plane Champion, discover friends, enemies, love and happiness. The
director explores the concept of beauty versus winning through the relationships that Dylan has with
others, through the characters and their influence on Dylan and finally through the metaphor/symbol
of paper planes being the beauty in nature and life.

The different characters had different effects on what Dylan thought or perceived. The character
Kimmi, a Japanese contestant, believed in beauty rather than winning. While Jason, more of an
arrogant boy who was also competing believed that winning was the only thing that mattered. Even
though Jason had grown up in a well off family he had the influence of his dad (Patrick) an
international golf champion. These two character influence Dylan s actions and behaviors toward the
competition. In the beginning, Dylan eye winning was his goal so that he could connect with his dad ;
but Dylan becomes friends with Kimmi. Kimmi thought the exact opposite of that, and throughout the
movie, Kimmi s beliefs rub off on Dylan. At the last moment, Dylan decides that he doesn t care about
winning and that the beauty and life in his paper plane are more important. The beliefs and values of
the different characters represent both beauty and life while the symbolism of the planes represents

The Ability of Humans to Manipulate Dna Is a Mixed...
The ability of humans to manipulate DNA is a mixed blessing
Genetically modified organisms are made moving the DNA from one species to another. DNA
contains genes which code for proteins. For plants and bacteria; restriction enzymes are used to cut a
DNA segment from a desired gene source and a bacterium plasmid. They are joined using ligase
enzymes and inserted into the plant chromosome or host bacterium. For animals the recombinant DNA
is injected into an embryo and transferred to a recipient mother. The organisms will now express a
new protein. Proteins determine form and metabolism. Genetic engineering changes the natural DNA
of living things, cutting across species boundaries.
Transgene s effects vary with position. The foreign ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Marker genes used to see which cells took up the foreign DNA cause a problem with antibiotic
resistance. These markers are usually antibiotic resistant so cells with no foreign DNA can be killed by
antibiotic treatment.
Virulent genes with the ability to penetrate immune systems will inevitably increase the frequency of
horizontal gene transfers. Once genes can freely transfer between species, species start to lose their
distinguishing characteristics. Reducing biodiversity and costing us undiscovered natural miracles.
Research is ongoing in growing agricultural products directly in the laboratory. Food and fibre being
are grown in tissue culture in giant bacteria baths much cheaper than the price of growing them on the
land. The shift to indoor agriculture could herald the eventual end of the agricultural era. Millions of
farmers in both the developing and developed worlds would be uprooted from the land. Conversely
genetically engineered plants as chemical factories are slowly being released outside.
Controversial genetic modifications are also being done on animals. A combination of genetic
engineering and cloning is being used for the development of market animals modified for increased
growth and reduced fat. GE animals are being developed as factories for the production of
pharmaceuticals and as sources of organs for transplantation into humans. In order to overcome organ
rejection problems pigs are being

The Importance Of Love For Family
The ideal choice would always to be able to have both, but like the famous saying goes, you can t
have cake and eat it too . Love is something that will be attained by those close to you, such as
relatives and significant others, but respect is something that can be earned by all. To have love
without respect, rather, is possessive and unhealthy. In addition, love can also push people act and
behave differently than they would normally. Through life, many will encounter many different people
and form many different bonds. However, only few will grow to truly love all the people they meet
within their lifetime. Of course, one would believe that love for family members and relatives will be
unconditional, and selfless. Moreover, if one is to look back the relationships that is between those
family members, there is a big realization. These particular relationships that are formed, especially
with the elder generations, we have an undeniable respect and admiration for them. This may have not
been the initial purpose but is still an effect of establishing boundaries. Boundaries are essential for
any relationship that one may have with any other individual. A line that shall not be crossed, if you
will. Thus, whether it is a parent, an aunt, or any loved one, one will know how far to go with that said
individual. On the same account, respect can be applied to any relationship, not just the personal
relationships such as the ones named above. You will can get more with respect

Eric, The Huntsman s Journey
Eric, the Huntsman, seems to be somewhat an outcast in his character. Due to the fact that he only
wants to care for himself and wishes not to obey anyone, especially the spiteful Queen Ravenna.
Although, he was forced to take the task to find what the Queen wanted, which was Snow White, he is
desperate and tortured knowing that he will not get his wife back whether or not he goes to find the
princess, yet he took this mission anyways.
The Huntsman s Journey
The Huntsman happened to obey orders and take this journey as the Queen demanded, although he
expects something in return, something that means everything to him. He was set out into the Dark
Forest to find Snow White and supposably kill her, when unanticipatedly he was her savior and
protector throughout their journey together. Throughout this adventure, Snow White and the
Huntsman became closer together as the days went on. He taught her some survival skills to where if
she were in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He would not leave her sight because if she was gone, he knew they would both would be found and
killed. When Snow White was found unconscious by Eric, he had felt like it was his fault and that he
was responsible for what happened. He was not there when it happened and he wished we would have
been.
The Initiation
In the movie, initiation does occur. The Huntsman is separated by what he knows in his village to be
able to survive anything that approaches the Dark Forest. He is then able to transform into a better
hero than what he expected to be by staying by Snow White s side, knowing he could not let even the
slightest thing happen to her. For his return, he is able to watch the princess defeat the evil Ravenna
from what he had taught her and watch her become the new Queen of the Kingdom of Tabor. He had a
good feeling knowing that everything would go back to normal with Snow White being Queen.

The Pros And Cons Of Anti-Semitism
A widely spoken about topic in America is Isms, they can be described as ways to discriminate
practices, cultures, and groups of people; moreover, there are lsists upon lists of isms in today s
society being used to discriminate. Significant oppressions in today s society are racism and
transphobia, and a similar case would be the discrimination of Jews. Represented as anti Semitism,
this can be defined as, Hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial
group ( Anti Semitism ).
Although Adolf Hitler s reign of terror had a significant part in defining anti Semitism, this dates as far
back to the ancient Roman times. In 70 AD the dawn of anti Semitism was exhibited when, Roman
authorities destroyed the Jewish temple in Jerusalem and forced Jews to leave Palestine ( The
Holocaust ). Not only were Jews discriminated against prior in World War II and the Holocaust, today,
it is said that, Israeli Jews all but universally say anti Semitism is at least somewhat common around
the world today, including nearly two thirds who say it is very common. ( Anti Semitism and
discrimination ).
Israeli Jews have a strong opinion that, roughly three quarters say anti Semitism is not only common
but on the rise globally, while virtually no Israeli Jews say it is decreasing (Anti Semitism and
discrimination); On the other hand, Americans have an opposing view of the incline of anti Semitism.

Confidentiality: Confidentiality is the capability to hide information from those people illegal to view
it. It is maybe the most noticeable feature of the CIA triad when it comes to security; but in the same
way, it is also the one which is attacked most frequently. Cryptography and Encryption techniques are
an example of an attempt to make sure confidentiality of data transferred from one computer to second
computer.
Integrity: The integrity defines to make sure that data is correct and unchanged demonstration of the
unique secure information. One kind of security attack is to intercept a few important data and make
alterations to it before sending it on to the proposed receiver.
Availability: It is significant to make sure that the information concerned is readily available to the
certified viewer at all times. Some kinds of security attack challenge to reject access to the suitable
user, either for the sake of troubling them, or because there is various secondary effect (Perrin, 2008).

Bayerische Motoren Werke, modernly known as BMW, is the German automobile, motorcycle, and
engine manufacturing company that was established March 7, 1916. BMW is headquartered in
Munich, Bavaria, Germany and is also the parent company of Rolls Royce Motor Cars ( History of
BMW , 2015). BMW s flourishing success has included the company in the German Big 3 luxury

BMW s aircraft engine plant was then forced to close, being that their only product at the time was the
IIIa aero engine ( History of BMW , 2015). Upper management quickly began seeking other
alternatives which resulted in them obtaining a license with a very successful Berlin based company
called Knorr Bremse AG. This partnership was pursued in effort to begin manufacturing brake
systems as a response to survive the cessation of aircraft engine production. The contract was over a
ten year span and was intended to provide BMW with employment and profit until 1930 ( History of
BMW , 2015). This directional shift resulted in great advantage for BMW as manufacturing power
was allocated to BMW from Knorr Bremse AG because they could not handle the demand they were
receiving for manufacturing in their own factories. This allowed BMW to be accessible for
governmental bodies to pursue contracted agreements. Bavarian trains were then fit and prepared for
Knorr brakes in which the Bavarian government contracted with BMW permitting them to be the
official Knorr brake producers of Bavaria because BMW was located in the homeland ( History of
BMW , 2015). Furthermore, these conditions caused the company to pursue greater avenues which
lead to the manufacturing of motorcycle engines. In 1921 BMW created the first motorized bicycle

Zoot Suit Riots Essay
Based on the infamous 1942 Sleepy Lagoon murder mystery and the resulting Zoot Suit Riots in Los
Angeles , playwright Luis Valdez weaves fact and fiction to depict the fate of 22 young Mexican
Americans brought to trial for a murder they did not commit.
Zoot Suit brings together unforgettable characters such as the irreverent El Pachuco and the
charismatic Henry Reyna, an unsuspecting gang leader who finds himself caught in the middle of the
racially turbulent events that rocked Los Angeles during the early 1940s.
Valdez says this production exemplifies the evolution of American society.

They play went on without me, he says. I never got to act and I was very disappointed. That event

Valdez s experience in a farm worker family provided much encouragement and drive when he

Beyond Scared Straight Summary
Established in the 1970 s, Scared Straight programs began to get introduced throughout the United
States as a method of deterrence for young teens in an attempted to keep them out of jail. A normal
program usually consists of an at risk teen visiting an adult prison to find out what it was really like to
be placed somewhere they are unable to leave. The teen learns of the harsh conditions that real prison
inmates have to endure while behind bars. Facility managers set up an itinerary for the teens to follow
as they tour the jail and live as though they were prisoners for a full day. This would put the at risk
youths up against an aggressive in your face confrontation with the inmates. They would get to listen
to the inmate s stories and have a one on one counseling session to really hit home on how the next
few years are going to be determined after they leave. However, no matter how well the intentions
may be to attempt and rehabilitate the teens, research has shown that many of approaches proved
ineffective. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

a whole, there is a nice coating that covers the false, yet what most would believe to be true as a

believe it sticks better to the inmate, resulting in a long standing imprint. Moreover, our justice system

The European colonization was a period in history when European countries such as Britain rapidly
took over and colonized many parts of the world which led to trade and interaction between different
peoples. Throughout the centuries of European control much advancement has been made in
transportation, communication and technology. In particular, the printing press, which was created
around the 1500 s was a printing medium used to copy text. The printing press was slow to develop,
but it gradually initiated one of the first technological advancements which spread throughout
European cities and countries. This meant that with more printing presses being made there were more
copies of texts which led to a faster way of communication. The invention and advancement of the
printing press was one of the first contributing factors of globalization through communication. One of
the other major events that shaped history was the Silk Road. The Silk Road was an ancient trade

carrying out cultural trade amongst different civilizations and it was used to exchange ideas. This

Repetition in David Lves Plays Words, Words, Words and...
David Ives really experiments with repetition throughout all of his plays. Two examples of these plays
would be Words, Words, Words and Sure Thing Form his collection of plays called All in the Timing.
There are many different examples of repetition in each play. Ives repeats one certain thing and makes
this repetition mean many different things. In Sure Thing there is the repetition of the bell, which
represent how we tend to make snap judgments on people, and how we all strive for perfection. He
also uses the repetition of the words sure thing to represent how nothing in life can really be
considered a sure thing. In contrast in Words, Words, Words Ives uses the repetition of the Monkey s
typing to represent how sometimes luck gets us to where we need to be. Ives also uses the repetition of
Milton exhibiting typical Monkey behavior to show how we can repetition as a form of manipulation
The bell rings twenty eight times in Sure Thing. Every time Bill says something that Betty does not
find desirable the bell will ring and Bill gets another chance to woo her. Ives uses the repetition of the
bell ringing to show how we as humans make snap judgments on people. As soon as we learn one fact
about a person we base everything they say on that one fact and that it is very hard to come back from
a bad first impression. Bill s ability to gage Betty s reaction allows him to manipulate her to make
himself seem more desirable. This results in him succeeding and them leaving

Amrith s Journey
This is a fitting title for the section I read as it helped readers understand Amrith s life and emotions
by concluding the novel with Amrith having many of his problems solved.
In my opinion, a journey is like a rollercoaster filled with ups and downs that only finishes when it
ends. Just like the novel, Amrith experiences many new things that he became quite fond of, even if
the same happiness became his misery. Nevertheless, this was only temporarily as Amrith is naïve and
easily jealous, thankfully over time he learned that staying ignorant does not solve his conflicts and he
must make amends on his own.
Prior to the ending, Amrith corrected his issues with his fake family and blood related family,
comprising of Niresh and his dead mother. Finally, Amrith is even rewarded with a gift, that I will
explain later, which seems realistic as opposed to Amrith and Niresh magically falling in love during
the last chapter.
Quick Summary: The last chapter was almost subtle to the point where it felt like a cliff hanger. The
conclusion made it seem as if Selvadurai plans on publishing a sequel, but that is not the case.
Regardless, the last few chapters revealed background knowledge on the mysterious death of Amrith s
parents. It explained how his mother was forced into giving up Amrith, in attempt to cure Amrith s
father from his alcohol problems. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Aiding in the understanding of Amrith and his past, anyways throughout the novel I have always
wondered why a mother such as Amrith s would cease to care for their own children. Now knowing
the cause, it reveals that she was a caring being and only thinking of what would be best for Amrith.
The only issue was that Amrith has always been naïve and interpreted the situation as a vulgar act,

Eleanor A Good Person Analysis
In the beginning of the good place, Eleanor was an awful person when she was alive on earth. She was
rude, and only thought of herself. As the episodes continued, Eleanor became a better person. Eleanor
did not think of herself all the time, she started putting people before her and this is what makes
Eleanor a good person and belong in the good place. There are many examples Eleanor gave that she
was a good person, three of the most important are, one, she started to care for Tahani. Two, she
wanted to change, she started learning how to be an ethical person. Lastly, Eleanor started to show a
difference in personality. When Eleanor first met Tahani, she did not like her. Eleanor felt as if Tahani
was too perfect and Eleanor was very jealous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chidi was always finding ways to help Eleanor and Jason, Eleanor did not have the heart to kill Janet
and Chidi did not have the heart to watch Jason kill Janet either, but accidently pressed the button.
Chidi could have easily let Eleanor take the blame for everything and allow her to go to the bad place.
Chidi did the right thing and told Michael the truth. For these reasons Chidi was patient with Eleanor
and Jason, becomes Eleanor s teacher, and tells the truth about Janet makes Chidi a good person and
belong in the good place. The third character that was introduced in the good place is Tahani, Tahani is
not a good person and does not belong in the good place. The first reason Tahani is a bad person, she
continuously complained about her soul mate. The second reason, she went behind Michaels back and
went through top secret information. Lastly, she saw statistics showing that she was last on the
goodness list. When in the good place, everyone has a soulmate. Out of all the people in the world the
good place theoretically matches people with the person they belong with. Tahani continued to
complain about Jianyu and unable to connect with him. Tahani should have been happy and trusted
that the higher power in the good place knew who would fit best with her. Tahani was ungrateful and
did not understand why she was paired with

Pros And Cons Of The Nafta
The NAFTA is a trade and investment agreement agreed in 1992 by the United States, Mexico and
Canada and came into force in 1994 with the aim of promoting free trade and investments in the North
American Region. From this date, the NAFTA has been one of the most criticized agreements in bases
of the inequality represented by it. First of all, the agreement was signed among three nations, which
are in a different economic status. Specifically Mexico comes to be far to reach the level of
development of the USA and Canada, and nevertheless is being regulated under the same agreement.
Besides its clear inequality, the agreement also possesses one of the most complex ISDS provisions.

Chose to go back through a couple companies that I used to work for. I chose Subway, Main St.
Liquor, and Taco Bell. I chose these because I had an inside view to the OMM for all three of these
companies. The OMM for Subway was a very simple one. Their main focus was on providing
excellent customer service with a team effort. They have a certain prodical for making the subs, that
they want you to stick with. This will keep food costs down. For example they are suppose to put only
six tomatoes on one sub. They have a weight or number amount for all meats, and veggies. With
weight limits that they have put in place, this has cut down on spending on veggies and meats. Which
has lowered outgoing costs and helped with finding shortages of ... Show more content on

Finally monitoring costs have to be considered in a company. The majority of these expenses are spent
on salaries of employers who are hired to monitor certain aspects of the company. This can include
monitoring the inventory of the business or the distribution of products and services. It is important for
companies to monitor the OMM costs of their business in order to make predictions about future
profits and losses. Depending on what type of business will depend on what type of OMM system
they will pick to help them run their business. Resurants will usually have a POS system that will help
them organize their menu and make it easier to track their food costs and ordering transactions. Each
business can set the pos system to be compatiable with their business. For instance Taco Bell and
Subway s both have the POS system, however very differernt menus. Being able to customize the
system give them an advantage to be able to have their own style for the employess to learn and
master. They tend to keep the systems simple because it is easier for the staff to learn and understand.
The POS sysetems can track labor costs, food costs, inventory, and sales. Which give any member of
management an advantage to running a lower cost store or

Impression Management By Tobias Wolff
When Lombardi instituted the rule that players could not drink standing at a bar he was implementing
the effect of impression management. The book describes impression management as a set of
behaviors that people use to protect their self image or change the way they are seen by others. The
book also teaches us the two main goals of impression management which is to minimize bad and to
maximize good. Minimize bad by avoiding blame for poor performances or ask for forgiveness.
Maximizing good by generating respect and liking from other people. Although not all players were
drinking alcohol or frequenting bars, the ones that were had to keep a good image for the team. For the

Bounty Hunter Social Pressure
After watching the video and witnessing some of the actions of the individuals I honestly was not
surprised what so ever. The fact that many of the individuals chose not to question the bounty hunter
stems from the fact that in society if we see someone in the power position we are expected to not
questions them and obey them completely. When the bounty hunter had pressured the individuals to
help him detain the woman in the blue jacket for her crime, they were reassured that he was an actual
bounty hunter by his fake badge. The pressure that bounty hunter had placed upon the individuals is a
clear example of social pressure. According to the textbook, many individuals tend to experience
social pressure when they are part of a group (134)

Essay about Migration Policy and Domestic Party Politics
There is no one categorical answer to this main question if Europeanization in the field of Migration
Policy is limited because this field is dominated by domestic party politics or not. First of all we must
define how do we understand Europeanization in the field of Migration Policy. It could be understood
slight differently: (i) as an Europeanization in assimilation of rules for regular and irregular
immigrants; (ii) as an Europeanization in external dimension of European Union migration policy; (iii)
as an Europeanization in terms of free movement of working force within European Union, etc. These
cases might have very different national interests within member states. Member states can easily

6). The EU member states have certainly been wary of ceding too much of powers up to the EU,
creating a de facto European space of 27 different approaches to migration policy, allowing only for
minimum harmonization (Weinar, 2011, psl. 6 7). That clearly shows that migration is very sensitive
policy and is strongly influenced by political decisions within member states.
The main shortcoming of the European migration policy framework is its ambiguity and dispersed
focus. It addresses the common interest of the EU member states in some fields, while leaving out
those common interests in others (Weinar, 2011, psl. 7). So what makes some fields more attractive to
common interests?
Elspeth Guild states that at the heart of the EU there is and has always been an ambition and duty to
reconfigure the territory of the Member States in order to achieve economic aims (Guild, 2006, psl.
631). Human rights were not part of the original schema of the EU (Guild, 2006, psl. 632). So if we
assume, that economic aims and not human rights are most important factors, we might argue, that
success in various Migration Policy agreements also depends on economic benefits. Putting this in a
simple terms, we might argue, that member states comply with Migration Policy goals if they can get
economical benefits from it. National states are always

Asian Carp And The New Carp
Over the course of the mid to late 20th century, five species of non native carp fish, collectively
referred to as Asian carp , have been introduced to the United States either for aesthetic purposes, to
supplement game fishing, or to help manage local pest species. Some of these carp species have
escaped into America s waterways and proved to be prolific breeders and voracious feeders, out
hunting and out breeding native species. As with any environmental issue, there exist many parties
who have differing points of contention over this problem and many different solutions have been
proposed to correct it. To resolve this issue will take a comprehensive analysis of the problem and an
examination of the participants involved, their perspectives on Asian carp, and how the proposed
solutions to this issue will affect them. Beginning in the 1830 s, five successive waves of foreign carp
species; grass, common, silver, bighead, and black carp, were introduced to the United States to help
improve the quality of agricultural ponds, but some of them subsequently escaped into the Midwestern
river systems (Koel, 2000, Pg. 1). Of these species, the two most infamous are silver and bighead carp.
Both species are filter feeders, and following their entry into the river systems in the eighties, they
have been competing with native filter feeders for food (Sampson, 2008, Pg. 483).
Asian carp grow in excess of five feet and can weigh upwards of 100 pounds. They are voracious

NETW206: Introduction to Switching
Submitted to:
Professor: Timothy Roseberry
Date: 09/14/2014
This paper will take a look at all the setup needed for adding IP camera s to our network and also have
scalability of a little over 20 percent for future growth. The structure will begin at the access level and
then we will look at the switches we will be using and then we will move onto the distribution and
core levels switches. I have looked at the Cisco 3560 for the access layer which is a 48 port and by
using them we use these because the offer an enhanced security features as well as PoE. This switch
aslo offers sufficient bandwidth and low cost ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By adding the equipment that we have already discussed we will have no problem in adding these
camera s in many key areas and could have some set up for redundancy as well to cover key areas. If
for some reason a access switch were to go down and alternate image from over lapping cameras can
be used. Sense the switches we chose use the PoE all the cameras can be supplied with power using
the IEEE 802.1af which is standard. To optimize performance we should add the flash memory card
with a 64Mb compact flash for each unit. I also think that we should consider Cisco SMARTnet
extended service agreement and around the clock global access to the Cisco Technical Assistance
Center (TAC). This will give us any help we may need with problems with equipment and setup.
For security on the network we will use the 802.1x this provide port security and provide port based
network access control as well as authenticated network access control. Using the 802.1x can increase
security by providing support for authentication, accounting, user identification and dynamic key
management. This level of security will also be able to set allow and deny network for connectivity
and also control VLAN access and many other traffic policies.

Nature In The Good Earth
Nature is visible in the earth, rain, and harvests of Wang Lung s hometown in China, which is
represented in the title, The Good Earth. Pearl S. Buck s novel discusses the life of an agrarian
Chinese man, Wang Lung, and his deep connection to the Earth. As the plot unfolds, Wang Lung
slowly gained much wealth that originated from the land. The earth, or the soil, brought riches and a
higher class to Wang. This is what he had valued the most since the beginning of the novel. He wanted
to have a successful harvest and gain money from his crops, and therefore become a member of a
wealthy family similar to the House of Hwang he had been admiring in his town. The rain determined
how his crops grew in the soil. Wang Lung was dependent on the land ... Show more content on

In the first chapters of the novel, Wang Lung states that the soil provides all things necessary for him
to live. Pearl S. Buck demonstrated Wang Lung s need for the land too, by stating this earth which
formed their home and fed their bodies and made their god (Buck, 22). Shortly after, he got married to
O lan, a servant from the House of Hwang. After noticing the House of Hwang was selling their land,
as previously stated, he chose to intervene. Wang Lung bought a little piece of land from the Hwang
family with some silver he had stored by selling his harvest. His major dependence on the land came
when Wang Lung s family faces a terrible famine. The drought impeded water to get to the crops. All
his crops had withered, except the ones in the new piece of land he had bought from the House of
Hwang (Baw, 3). He felt determined to buy more land from the Hwang family, even if it meant the
children must all starve if the plants starve (Buck, 48). Wang Lung trusted that the land would save
him from the starvation the drought had brought him. What originally brought the drought was the
lack of water. The rain during this time of crisis was a symbol of the suffering his family had to go

Essay On Anne Bradstreet
Feminism today remains prominent because even while women s rights are very strong, women are
still fighting for equality every day. In the time of Anne Bradstreet, women had few rights and they
were seen as inferior to men. Anne lived among the puritans whom ruled her everyday life. Although
it was completely against the puritan code for women to receive an education, Anne Bradstreet s
father, Thomas Dudley, loved his daughter very much and did everything he could to make sure that
she was well educated which shows in her works. Anne
Bradstreet s literature became well known only because her brother in law published her works in a
book called The Tenth Muse under a male name and without her knowing. Anne Bradstreet s father
had to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She shows that she had trouble keeping her book when she claimed that it was
snatched from thence by friends, less wise than true, who thee abroad exposed to public view.
I believe that she is referring the fact that her brother in law took the book with him to England in
1650 and had it published. These lines show that they acted against Anne Bradstreet s wishes, they
also show the hard times those women authors faced during this period when they were expected to
just go along with the opinions of men rather than express their own. Anne
Bradstreet probably wrote the poem in around 1666 and it was included in an edition published in
1678 after her death. It remains unclear whether she wanted her book to be published or not. Female
authors at the time were looked down on, so in theory she had to pretend ignorance of Woolbridge s
actions for the sake of her reputation. The poem has a major theme of Women and Femininity. The
poem is mainly about motherhood in a way as previously discussed. She treats it in a traditional,
maternal way. She tries to clothe it, protect it, nurture it, and keep it clean. The speaker implies, in
other words, that being a poet or author is a lot like being a mother. Her writing of this poem was a
pretty bold and brave move considering the fact of the era when the poem was written. Back then;
being a poet was more of a manly activity. Now a

Why The Articles Of Confederation This essay will examine why the Articles of Confederation; the first national compact that had executive branch and legislative branch with limited national government power, failed to solve national problems, inflation, depression. After the American Revolution, Americans were very suspicious with a strong central government, as they think the United State government would control over tariff and limited human rights just like what Great Britain had done in the past. On July of 1776, John Dickinson submitted a blueprint for a strong national government to the Continental Congress, however, his colleagues transformed his plan into a government that needs the state s authority to execute any taxes, laws, or amendments. Since the national government holds very little power, this created many conflicts such as tariffs, lack of finances to maintain the army, no power to end rebellions. It was impossible for the Article of Confederation to solve any postwar problems that America was facing at that time due to high unemployed sailors, debt ridden farmers, and destitute widows and orphans. The Articles of Confederation gives the congress to raise taxes, but the state has the authority to deny to pay its expenses. The states paid roughly seventy percent of what they owed, most states paid remarkably less (Georgia did not paid anything). This article negatively impacted America. As America just granted independence from Great Britain, it was a very fresh country, the stability of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Specifically Mexico comes to be far to reach the level of development of the USA and Canada, and nevertheless is being regulated under the same agreement. Besides its clear inequality, the agreement also possesses one of the most complex ISDS provisions. These provisions have resulted on a pattern for further treaties ... • 24. Bus 210 Week 8 Paper Chose to go back through a couple companies that I used to work for. I chose Subway, Main St. Liquor, and Taco Bell. I chose these because I had an inside view to the OMM for all three of these companies. The OMM for Subway was a very simple one. Their main focus was on providing excellent customer service with a team effort. They have a certain prodical for making the subs, that they want you to stick with. This will keep food costs down. For example they are suppose to put only six tomatoes on one sub. They have a weight or number amount for all meats, and veggies. With weight limits that they have put in place, this has cut down on spending on veggies and meats. Which has lowered outgoing costs and helped with finding shortages of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Finally monitoring costs have to be considered in a company. The majority of these expenses are spent on salaries of employers who are hired to monitor certain aspects of the company. This can include monitoring the inventory of the business or the distribution of products and services. It is important for companies to monitor the OMM costs of their business in order to make predictions about future profits and losses. Depending on what type of business will depend on what type of OMM system they will pick to help them run their business. Resurants will usually have a POS system that will help them organize their menu and make it easier to track their food costs and ordering transactions. Each business can set the pos system to be compatiable with their business. For instance Taco Bell and Subway s both have the POS system, however very differernt menus. Being able to customize the system give them an advantage to be able to have their own style for the employess to learn and master. They tend to keep the systems simple because it is easier for the staff to learn and understand. The POS sysetems can track labor costs, food costs, inventory, and sales. • 25. Impression Management By Tobias Wolff When Lombardi instituted the rule that players could not drink standing at a bar he was implementing the effect of impression management. The book describes impression management as a set of behaviors that people use to protect their self image or change the way they are seen by others. The book also teaches us the two main goals of impression management which is to minimize bad and to maximize good. Minimize bad by avoiding blame for poor performances or ask for forgiveness. Maximizing good by generating respect and liking from other people. Although not all players were drinking alcohol or frequenting bars, the ones that were had to keep a good image for the team. • 26. Bounty Hunter Social Pressure After watching the video and witnessing some of the actions of the individuals I honestly was not surprised what so ever. The fact that many of the individuals chose not to question the bounty hunter stems from the fact that in society if we see someone in the power position we are expected to not questions them and obey them completely. When the bounty hunter had pressured the individuals to help him detain the woman in the blue jacket for her crime, they were reassured that he was an actual bounty hunter by his fake badge. The pressure that bounty hunter had placed upon the individuals is a clear example of social pressure. According to the textbook, many individuals tend to experience social pressure when they are part of a group (134) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Essay about Migration Policy and Domestic Party Politics There is no one categorical answer to this main question if Europeanization in the field of Migration Policy is limited because this field is dominated by domestic party politics or not. First of all we must define how do we understand Europeanization in the field of Migration Policy. It could be understood slight differently: (i) as an Europeanization in assimilation of rules for regular and irregular immigrants; (ii) as an Europeanization in external dimension of European Union migration policy; (iii) as an Europeanization in terms of free movement of working force within European Union, etc. These cases might have very different national interests within member states. Member states can easily agree on one point and have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 6). The EU member states have certainly been wary of ceding too much of powers up to the EU, creating a de facto European space of 27 different approaches to migration policy, allowing only for minimum harmonization (Weinar, 2011, psl. 6 7). That clearly shows that migration is very sensitive policy and is strongly influenced by political decisions within member states. The main shortcoming of the European migration policy framework is its ambiguity and dispersed focus. It addresses the common interest of the EU member states in some fields, while leaving out those common interests in others (Weinar, 2011, psl. 7). So what makes some fields more attractive to common interests? Elspeth Guild states that at the heart of the EU there is and has always been an ambition and duty to reconfigure the territory of the Member States in order to achieve economic aims (Guild, 2006, psl. 631). Human rights were not part of the original schema of the EU (Guild, 2006, psl. 632). So if we assume, that economic aims and not human rights are most important factors, we might argue, that success in various Migration Policy agreements also depends on economic benefits. Putting this in a simple terms, we might argue, that member states comply with Migration Policy goals if they can get economical benefits from it. National states are always ... • 28. Asian Carp And The New Carp Over the course of the mid to late 20th century, five species of non native carp fish, collectively referred to as Asian carp , have been introduced to the United States either for aesthetic purposes, to supplement game fishing, or to help manage local pest species. Some of these carp species have escaped into America s waterways and proved to be prolific breeders and voracious feeders, out hunting and out breeding native species. As with any environmental issue, there exist many parties who have differing points of contention over this problem and many different solutions have been proposed to correct it. To resolve this issue will take a comprehensive analysis of the problem and an examination of the participants involved, their perspectives on Asian carp, and how the proposed solutions to this issue will affect them. Beginning in the 1830 s, five successive waves of foreign carp species; grass, common, silver, bighead, and black carp, were introduced to the United States to help improve the quality of agricultural ponds, but some of them subsequently escaped into the Midwestern river systems (Koel, 2000, Pg. 1). Of these species, the two most infamous are silver and bighead carp. Both species are filter feeders, and following their entry into the river systems in the eighties, they have been competing with native filter feeders for food (Sampson, 2008, Pg. 483). Asian carp grow in excess of five feet and can weigh upwards of 100 pounds. They are voracious ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The structure will begin at the access level and then we will look at the switches we will be using and then we will move onto the distribution and core levels switches. By adding the equipment that we have already discussed we will have no problem in adding these camera s in many key areas and could have some set up for redundancy as well to cover key areas. If for some reason a access switch were to go down and alternate image from over lapping cameras can be used. Sense the switches we chose use the PoE all the cameras can be supplied with power using the IEEE 802.1af which is standard. To optimize performance we should add the flash memory card with a 64Mb compact flash for each unit. I also think that we should consider Cisco SMARTnet extended service agreement and around the clock global access to the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC). This will give us any help we may need with problems with equipment and setup. For security on the network we will use the 802.1x this provide port security and provide port based network access control as well as authenticated network access control. Using the 802.1x can increase security by providing support for authentication, accounting, user identification and dynamic key management. This level of security will also be able to set allow and deny network for connectivity and also control VLAN access and many other traffic policies. References Cisco. (n.d.). http://www.cisco.com. • 30. Nature In The Good Earth Nature is visible in the earth, rain, and harvests of Wang Lung s hometown in China, which is represented in the title, The Good Earth. Pearl S. Buck s novel discusses the life of an agrarian Chinese man, Wang Lung, and his deep connection to the Earth. As the plot unfolds, Wang Lung slowly gained much wealth that originated from the land. The earth, or the soil, brought riches and a higher class to Wang. This is what he had valued the most since the beginning of the novel. He wanted to have a successful harvest and gain money from his crops, and therefore become a member of a wealthy family similar to the House of Hwang he had been admiring in his town. The rain determined how his crops grew in the soil. Wang Lung was dependent on the land ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the first chapters of the novel, Wang Lung states that the soil provides all things necessary for him to live. Pearl S. Buck demonstrated Wang Lung s need for the land too, by stating this earth which formed their home and fed their bodies and made their god (Buck, 22). Shortly after, he got married to O lan, a servant from the House of Hwang. After noticing the House of Hwang was selling their land, as previously stated, he chose to intervene. Wang Lung bought a little piece of land from the Hwang family with some silver he had stored by selling his harvest. His major dependence on the land came when Wang Lung s family faces a terrible famine. The drought impeded water to get to the crops. All his crops had withered, except the ones in the new piece of land he had bought from the House of Hwang (Baw, 3). He felt determined to buy more land from the Hwang family, even if it meant the children must all starve if the plants starve (Buck, 48). Wang Lung trusted that the land would save him from the starvation the drought had brought him. What originally brought the drought was the lack of water. The rain during this time of crisis was a symbol of the suffering his family had to go ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Essay On Anne Bradstreet Feminism today remains prominent because even while women s rights are very strong, women are still fighting for equality every day. In the time of Anne Bradstreet, women had few rights and they were seen as inferior to men. Anne lived among the puritans whom ruled her everyday life. Although it was completely against the puritan code for women to receive an education, Anne Bradstreet s father, Thomas Dudley, loved his daughter very much and did everything he could to make sure that she was well educated which shows in her works. Anne Bradstreet s literature became well known only because her brother in law published her works in a book called The Tenth Muse under a male name and without her knowing. She shows that she had trouble keeping her book when she claimed that it was snatched from thence by friends, less wise than true, who thee abroad exposed to public view. I believe that she is referring the fact that her brother in law took the book with him to England in 1650 and had it published. These lines show that they acted against Anne Bradstreet s wishes, they also show the hard times those women authors faced during this period when they were expected to just go along with the opinions of men rather than express their own. Anne Bradstreet probably wrote the poem in around 1666 and it was included in an edition published in 1678 after her death. It remains unclear whether she wanted her book to be published or not. Female authors at the time were looked down on, so in theory she had to pretend ignorance of Woolbridge s actions for the sake of her reputation. The poem has a major theme of Women and Femininity. The poem is mainly about motherhood in a way as previously discussed. She treats it in a traditional, maternal way. She tries to clothe it, protect it, nurture it, and keep it clean. The speaker implies, in other words, that being a poet or author is a lot like being a mother. Her writing of this poem was a pretty bold and brave move considering the fact of the era when the poem was written. Back then; being a poet was more of a manly activity. Now a ...
