Dickmen, Robert. Biomass Explained. U.S. Energy Information Administration, Vol. 4, Issue 3, May
16, 2017, 5 pages. One of the largest potential sources of energy that is going largely unutilised is
biomass. Biomass is organic material that that typically is considered waste. Most Biomass products
end up in landfills if not used to produce power. Examples of biomass include forest refuse, mill
refuse, mill refuse, agricultural refuse, animal waste, and crops grown for biomass fuel like wood and
grasses. These plants need a steady source of biomass which can be hard to supply.

Electricity. New York: Franklin Watts, 1986, 96 pages.
The link between Magnetism and electricity became evident in 1820. This relationship is important
because electricity develops by the spinning of magnets around a coil of copper wire. In order to
produce electricity a fuel source must spine the magnets. Electricity can be used from anything from
communication sistemes to the everyday lightbulb.
Harmen, Jamies. Nuclear Power in the World Today. World Nuclear Association, Vol. 7, Issue 19,

production. Nuclear power is the second largest producer of low carbon energy production method
after hydroelectricity. The first nuclear power plant opened in the 1950s. Nuclear power plants can fail
catastrophically, which is uncommon but can be devastating. In the world about 450 nuclear power

Electronic Medical Records Essay
Electronic Medical Records or Computerized Medical Record System what is it and what are the
advantages along with the disadvantages of using this system? That is what we will discuss in this
paper.
Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is a computerized database that stores all of the personal and
medical information of the patient s care and billing information by the health care providers. Today,
only the providers and medical practices can implement these systems. Also there are neither known
national central storage systems nor regional sharing of information between the networks on a
regional level or the national level. This is something that needs to be changed because it is important
to be able to see this information globally. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The EMR system is better for some doctors because it eliminates the unclear handwriting, thus cutting
down on the unclear writing mistakes by doctors. The patients have been released from the hospital at
a rate of at least one day earlier than the patients with paper records and these bills were almost
$900.00 less than when they used the paper records. There have been many deaths each year because
of the wrong medication being written on the prescription paperwork and a pharmacist misread the
handwriting on the form. If this information is typed the chances of making a mistake are less. There
are also EMR systems that diagnose diseases and treatments, which is another advantage. Just imagine
how fast the patient can be healed if a computer program can predict the results of an illness by
entering the symptoms such as a device that searches for glaucoma via computer generated images,
the analyzing of mammograms and the ultrasound device to analyze lumps in a females breast that
determine if it is benign or cancerous. Most of the time these computer systems have accuracy rate of
80% or more which is the last advantages that we will talk about today.
The last advantage we will talk about is Telemedicine, which is remote performance of medical
exams, analyses and procedures using computer networks and also specialized equipment. Some

Mistry pits the notion of memory against that of history:
Permeating everything, occupying the room as solidly as the furniture, a timeless smell (280).
For Yezad, the same time lessons is present in religion, which he becomes completely engrossed in at
the end of the story (342). Trauma inhabits Nariman s sense of time the portraits of his forefather s
reprimand him for fondling with a non parsi girl and demoniacally make the past present in present.
As they marched down the passageway, Nariman opened his eyes. From his supine position he saw
the glum portraits of his fore fathers on the walls. Strange, how their eyes looked at him as though
they were the living and he the dead (89).
Family Matters also challenges the linearity of causality which is intimately linked with reason and
individualism. Rational causality is replaced by the irrationality of coincidence or destiny. Yezad, who
is in the beginning of the novel was the incarnation of sovereign undertaking, completely loses the
will to shape his own destiny and become a religious fanatic. In the end, he thinks that Man proposes,

Cinderella, And What s Wrong With Cinderella
For decades, the famous fairy tale that we have all grown so fond of over the decades years has
touched many young adolescent girls in many ways. Perhaps; the story of (Cinderella) has had such an
impact in ways, which, which a young girl gains a stereotypical idea of these fantasies. The desire for
a life lived happilyy ever after that is repetitively pounded into recent generations of young girls via
corporations such as Disney has created a scripted lifestyle, or personality traits for young girls.
Following the analysis of Ever After, Cinderella, and What s wrong with Cinderella by Peggy
Orenstein we can: conclude that the generalization and persistent theme of princesses over time; can
alter the unique individual development of personality in adolescents, as well as propose a major
profit opportunities for large corporations simply by continuously portraying and merchandising the
fairy tale concept to young girls around the world. The Film Ever After is one of many versions on the
story of Cinderella. As a young girl Daniel (would be Cinderella) was different than other girls her
age. The film portrays her as a unique girl with a tomboy attitude who loves her father very much.
When her father dies from a heart attack, Daniel is left with her evil stepmother, as well as the
stepsisters. She grows up with these evil relatives in her fathers house, which the stepmother calls her
own after the fathers passing. Spending majority of her days with servants of the house;

The Animal Welfare Act Is The United States
Think of a small or large innocent animal, dying a painful death, all because we humans want to
advance and need something to test on. They are only being minimally protected because they are
seen as just our property . Testing on animals is not the problem, the extremely inhumane way that
they are being treated is. Many animals of different species sit in cages of research facilities, instead of
being out in the wild where they belong. They are forced to endure multiple tests every day. These
tests are harmful, sometimes even deadly. The only thing slightly protecting them is the Animal
Welfare Act, But it does not provide very much protection. Those who are supporters of this
movement are usually criticized by people who do not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Research facilities also have very few restrictions on lab workers. The Animal Welfare Act does not
give the facilities any restraints for their employees. No legal requirements for researchers to consider
alternatives to their use, nor provide them with relief from the pain, distress, or even the most basic
slanderers of care. (Neavas1) Though most are qualified scientists, they do not have to provide a
quality of care which is inhumane to the animal. (Neavas 2) The laboratories that these animals are
stuck in may be unsafe and unclean. The animals live in small, dark cages and are forced to live that
way their entire lives. Animals should be able to ram free and should not be kept locked away in cages
until they are needed. Under the Animal Welfare Act, research institutions are required to establish an
Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee to oversee and evaluate all aspects of the institution s
care and use program. (Neavs1) While the United States Department of Agriculture and the Animal
Welfare Act and Institutional Animal Care and Use systems purport to ensure humane treatment of
animals in labs, the system is plagued with loopholes that leave animals

embracing drum loops and elements of Top 40 pop, Urban wrote songs that appealed to a wide
audience Andrew Leahey, unknown. He has an incredible passion for music, uses it in a way to
express his thought and makes it his own.
Keith Urban is a grammy winning country musician and songwriter. Urban was born on the 26th of
October, 1967, in Whangarei New Zealand. He has an older brother, Shane and his parents are Bob

The Tortoise And The Hare Summary
The Theme Of The Tortoise And The Hare
Pride, it is a feeling that we all get every once and a while. There is something about pride that can
make us feel like we are just on top of the world. Although this feeling can be nice it can also be
extremely horrible. In Aesop s fable The Tortoise And The Hare, Aesop gives many examples of how
pride can be a very bad thing. The characteristics of pride can be very cruel and even sometimes
hurtful. People have had a sense of pride since the creation of man and it is also very common in the
bible. It is something that is very common in the world today and it is something we should all be
aware of.
Think about it, when was the last time you were extremely prideful and were very blatant about it? It
happens to all of us and it is very common with the world we live in today. In the story The Tortoise
And The Hare, Aesop shows us how pride can be very unpleasant and sometimes even harm
ourselves. For example when Aesop says: Hare ran down the road for a while and then and paused to
rest. He looked back at Slow and Steady and cried out, How do you expect to win this race when you
are walking along at your slow, slow pace? .Hare stretched himself out alongside the road and fell
asleep, thinking, There is plenty of time to relax. (1). This shows us how the hare was mocking slow
and steady because of how slow he was going. The hare thought that he would have enough time to
rest and relax, while the tortoise caught up. He

The Rule Of Law In Civil And Common Law Traditions
The rule of law in civil and common law traditions In both the common and civil law traditions the
ordinary function of a court is adjudicative. Courts make findings on disputed questions of fact,
identify and apply the relevant law to the facts as agreed by the parties or found by the court, consider
the legal consequences and award appropriate remedies. Thus, a state that adheres to the principle of
rule of law provides legal certainty to it citizens, to plan their lives with less uncertainty and protects
them from to the law from arbitrary use of state power. The rule of law first and foremost seeks to
emphasize the necessity of establishing a rule based society in the interest of legal certainty and
predictability. Legal certainty is a central tenet of the rule of law understood around the world
although its meaning differs between legal traditions and nation States. In 2007 at Potsdam, the G8
Foreign Ministers declared their commitment to the rule of law [as a] core principle on which we build
our partnership and our efforts to promote lasting peace, security, democracy and human rights as well
as sustainable development worldwide and stated that it is imperative to adhere to the principle of
legal certainty. Legal certainty in the civil tradition Legal certainty is a fundamental principle
characteristic of the civil tradition and is recognized within the national legal systems of Europe the

The Glass Menagerie Essay
The Glass Menagerie
In The Glass Menagerie, Tennessee Williams places his characters in difficult situations throughout
the play. Laura Wingfield is a very shy person with an illness that has left her crippled. This illness
makes Laura fearful and it causes her to think less of herself. Amanda Wingfield (laura s mother)
fancies laura to marry a man that will care for her, since she is young and dependent. Laura accepts
the fact that she will not have any gentleman callers because she is insecure of herself. Anxiety
crushes laura in finding that her high school crush will be attending them for dinner. Laura shares
similar characteristics to her glass unicorn because they are both unique and fragile.
To start off, in The Glass Menagerie, Laura has to face many standards in her love life. Amanda
(Laura s mother) has a strong desire to marry her to a gentleman caller. During the Great Depression
women marry to help pull the country through its current economic crisis, but the characters are

If that is the one that Tom is bringing to dinner you ll have to excuse me, I won t come to the table
(Williams 89). Laura is a very shy girl and seeing Jim will agitate her. After dinner, Jim heads toward
the living room and his presence makes laura feel comfortable around him. Laura forgets about her
disability and anxiety towards people when she is near Jim. Towards the end of the play Jim admits
that he is engaged to be married, which breaks laura s

Climate Changes And Climate Change Essay
Climate change is defined by the Intergovernmental panel on climate change ( IPCC) as a variation in
the mean state of climate persisting for an extended period of time typically decades or longer while
the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) defines climate change as a
change in the climate which is attributed directly or indirectly to human activities that alters the
composition of the global atmosphere and which is in addition to natural climate variability observed
over comparable time periods.
Climate change can also be defined as a change of climate which is attributed directly or indirectly to
human activity that alters the composition of the global atmosphere and which is in addition to natural
climate variability observed over comparable time periods (UNFCC, 1992; Obioha, 2009). It involves
a change in both the mean meteorological values and variability of these values. The expected change
in mean climatic conditions is expected to be a slow process, occurring over many decades (Obeta,
2009). Climate variability describes seasonal changes, inter annual variability and the likely frequency
of weather related intense events. Climate change and climatic variability are frequently discussed in
literature and they add to a complex bond of stress to the economy through their impact on key sectors
or on the important drivers of growth, including agriculture and natural resources, water, health and
infrastructure. Climate change is real; it

Anne Sexton
Anne Sexton
Michealangelo, perhaps the most gifted sculptor and painter of all times, once said that geniuses stand
on the shoulders of other geniuses. As Michelangelo built upon the brilliance of his predecessors,
Anne Sexton does the same in her collection of poems entitled Transformations. She renovated fairy
tales as told by the Brothers Grimm by adding her own life experiences and view of contemporary
culture, hammering away until she built an entirely new art form. Anne Sexton has had a notable
effect upon the literary genre of fairy tales through this shocking transformation of classic tales.
Anne Sexton was born in Newton, Massachusetts on November 9, 1928 to Ralph and Mary Gray
Staples Harvey. Her life as a child and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Orne, M.D., Ph.D., her psychologist who encouraged her to write poetry as part of the psychological
healing process (Middlebrook xiii xviii). With this encouragement Anne published her first book of
poetry, To Bedlam and Part Way Back, in 1960 (McCartan 2). The book was well received and marked
the beginning of her rise to the top. 1967 another major year in Sexton s career; she won the Pulitzer
Prize for Live or Die. Transformations, her book of poetic fairy tales, was published later in 1971. On
October 4, 1974, shortly after the release of Transformations, Anne could no longer stand the
pressures of her existence and committed suicide.
This biographical information is essential to understanding Anne Sexton s influence on the fairy tale
because her transformations of the Grimm Brother s work rises out of her personal turmoil. Most of
Sexton s works before and after Transformations are of the confessional style, but through her poetic
transformations of fairy tales, Sexton gives herself a more discrete outlet for her passions (Ostriker
255). Her biographer Diane Middlebrook notes that the poems were a way to place her struggles in
legend rather than personal history (37). The intensely metaphorical characters of Sexton s fairy
poetry are one example of this. For instance, Judith the cold and neglectful mother in Snow White
surely represents Sexton s own callous mother (Middlebrook 37). Sexton s father is also recognizable
in her work as

Immigration Without Assimilation
Immigration without assimilation
Immigration is a way to move from one country to another country. In Ethiopia s case immigration is
the incoming of refugees from Eritrea, Somalia, South Sudan and Sudan. The immigrants from these
countries are in seek of peace and stability. Generally, when their lives are in danger, they flee to their
closest safe country, Ethiopia. Most of these people walked to get to Ethiopia. According to the
UNHCR of the United nations, 850,000 refugees from neighboring countries residing in Ethiopia and
the country hosts the largest number of refugees in Africa. Ethiopia s immigration without assimilation
policy benefits the immigrants in national identities, cultures, and language preservation and are most
welcome to enter into the nation. So, national identity, culture and religion are the three aspects of the
immigrants are preserved due to Ethiopia s policy of no assimilation. The first aspect that the
immigrants are preserved due to Ethiopia s policy of no assimilation is national identity. The refugees
from Eritrea, Somalia, South Sudan and Sudan are having their own national identities of their states.
They have distinctive traditions and feelings they share with a group of people about their nations.
Here, the immigrants are displaced only from their homelands, but with all having traditions and
feelings about their countries. With their national identities, they are moving far away from their
homelands seeking for peace and stability as

Willy Loman as a Tragic Hero in Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman
Should Willy Loman of Arthur Millers classic, Death of a Salesman be regarded as a tragic hero, or
merely a working class, socially inadequate failure? Described by Miller as a self destructive, insecure
anti hero , it seems almost impossible for Loman to be what is known as a tragic hero in the classical
sense, but with the inclusion of other factors he maybe a tragic hero, at least in the modern context, or
partially suit one nonetheless.
To make the decision as to Whether Loman is a tragic hero or not, one must define the term tragic

Although Shakespeare tends to follow this pattern; his education may have led him to lesser liberal
thinking. Miller believes it may also include the modern common man. To relate Loman to the likes of
Lear, Hamlet, Oedipus, directly would be ludicrous but some comparisons can be made. As Biff states
Loman does follow the wrong dreams but he does work and he is just able to provide for his family
and pay off the mortgage. However it is clear that even Loman s best is not enough, this is shown by
the result of the borrowing of money from Charley. As salesmen are paid on commission Loman
cannot be faulted on this, as his age, work conditions and his mental state are all core contributors to
the fact he cannot make ends meet. The other tragic heroes have faults of which are the trigger of their
demise i.e. Othello s jealousy. Likewise Loman has his own faults, his main one being, and his belief
in the American dream. The American dream is a concept that, any one who works hard, can succeed
in the land of opportunity. This offers riches to those who start with nothing. Ben is a true
representation of this as Willy states, …a man started with the clothes on his back and ended up with
diamond mines… Loman has yet to achieve such a goal yet still holds on to the dreams at

Claude Mckay Analysis
Claude Mckay, 1889 1948 (unannotated) If we must die let it not be like hogs The simile let it not be
like hog motivates the audience to die with dignity, it does this by implanting the thought of dying like
a hog, since hogs often die a brutal and cruel death this simile motivates the audience to die a
righteous death. This is a powerful line as it states the idea of the poem and sets the scene for the
audience. This line is the beginning of an extended metaphor. Hunted and penned in an inglorious
spot, This line (consisting of the metaphor Hunted and penned in an inglorious spot ) adds effect to the
simile in line one, as it compares the same qualities. Hogs are often slaughtered in an inglorious spot
(such as a barn, shed or warehouse). This line suggests that the brutal death of hogs and the killing of
African Americans are alike. This line continues the extended metaphor. While round us bark the mad
and hungry dogs, The opposition (the racist white Americans) is named is this line through the
metaphor mad and hungry dogs . The metaphor within this line (which is also part of the extended
metaphor) suggests that the hungry dogs are brutally killing the hogs and that the African Americans
are the pigs and the white Americans are the murderous antagonists. Making their mock at our
accursed lot. The use of the word their in this line targets the white Americans and labels them as the

The Career Of A Real Estate Agent Essay
The career of a Real Estate agent is a unique work environment that has various opportunities and
requires specialized study and various personal attributes to successfully run a real estate team or
brokerage at a high level of business. As a result of research, l have concluded that a Real Estate
career is a possible career choice for me. The real estate work environment ranges from person to
person. A single person may conduct his or her business completely alone, or teams of multiple agents
may work together. Teams can also work under a brokerage or work independently, although a broker
s license is required for an independent team. Real Estate teams that work under a brokerage must pay
a percent of earned commission to that brokerage. An example of a brokerage is Keller Williams
Capital Partners. This brokerage has multiple teams conducting operations under their name. For
every sale that a team makes under Keller Williams, they must pay a percent of their commission, or
profit. By obtaining a broker s license, a team or individual receives one hundred percent of the
commissioned they make. This serves as an attractive business opportunity, however requires
completion of another exam and classes separate from real estate licensing classes. In the year 2014,
about 421,300 real estate jobs were recorded (bls.gov). A real estate agent spends much of their time
working away from an office desk (bls.gov). An agent spends a majority of the workday with clients,

The World Of International Studies
Research Narrative In the world of international studies there are many bias parties and individuals as
there are drastically differing viewpoints regarding hot topic issues in the field. This makes for an
exciting endeavor when conducting research on topics such as Private Military Companies as all
different types of political personalities arise when such subjects are debated over. This characteristics
of the international relations area of study also becomes apparent when authors of scholarly journals
and public websites debate over fundamental issues of the aforementioned subject, such as the
different rules for engagement and fighting overseas. When hunting for sources for this project, I

Christopher Kinsey wrote an incredibly informative article on the fundamentals of Private Military
and even touches on a few closely related issues, for example, nuclear regulation was diccues twice
through the article. Georgia Southern s library website contain some very usful links and even some
videos on techniques regarding how to add diversity in a research paper. One such tip was to find two
different articles with completely opposite viewpoints and I believe the tactic to be very useful.
Another type of strategy that one can implement when conducting research is to find an expert in the
field and discusses their stance on the topic, it is almost like them verbally writing you an entirely
different source with a refreshing perspective. One such expert is Dr. Lubecki. He was more than
willing when asked to be interviewed for this project. He explained that regarding private militaries,
they could start another major war, he used China as one excellent example, so it is better to limit their
use until they are fully regulated. The idea was one that never appeared in any of the research for this
project. The Power to Construct International Security was a shorter academic article that was of
different origin than the other, this idea was suggested on the library website and has served as a great
tool for finding an array of articles. The last source is one from a famous and reputable newspaper. I

Halpert (both salesman) and Pam Beesly, the receptionist. Over its nine seasons, the show has
displayed many sociological concepts, but has the most examples of deviance, sex and gender,
socialization and social interaction and groups and organization. Deviance in The Office is displayed
mainly through one of its minor characters, Creed Bratton. While he appears to be a normal person, he
often reveals things that are incriminating and is defined by his deviance ... Show more content on

In the episode Gay Witch Hunt , one of Dunder Mifflin s employees, Oscar Martinez, is outed by the
regional manager, Michael Scott, to all his employees. After he does this, Oscar has to deal with the
repercussions of being gay in the workplace, some of which include dealing with homophobic
questions and attitudes towards him, especially from his more conservative co worker, Angela Martin.
Later in the show, Angela gets married to the senator of Scranton, and has a baby that, is later revealed
in the episode Jury Duty , conceived out of wedlock. The baby doesn t end up being the senator s at
all, but is instead another Dunder Mifflin employees , Dwight Schrute, after the two had an affair.
Lastly, sexism in the workplace, especially in the episode Back from Vacation , is shown to be a fairly
large issue. Michael Scott spreads around a picture of Jan Levinson, the vice president of sales and his
unofficial girlfriend, from their vacation in Jamaica in which she is nearly naked. He does this without
her approval, and it s spread to everybody in both the office and to the warehouse, and eventually
makes its way into the higher management

Flathead Fish Case Study
The weather was just perfect for the 29 anglers who signed up and took to the Colorado River, in
search of the heaviest channel and flathead fish, at the10th West Coast Area Flatsmaster Tournament
held in Ripley.
Setting sail in small and medium sized boats into the aqua colored water, the men and women
competed for monetary prizes, in hopes of receiving a good catch on last Saturday.
As a series of competitive fishing around Southern California, people came from the San Diego, La
Quinta and the Victorville area to participate, along with residents from Blythe and Ripley.
Said to be equally good in the Colorado River, the two categories for competing was Channel and
Flathead fish.
With the moon full in the sky, anglers prowled the water, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Second place went to Dalton Churchwell for his catch of a 27.3 pounder and standing in 3rd place was
Darren Mallett and his 20.14 flathead.
In the same manner, 1st place went to Nefrali Cano for receiving the weight of 9.6 for his
caughtchannel fish; placing 2nd was Max Garcia s fish, weighing in at 8.13 and 3rd place was
awarded to Tyrus Chornwick, collecting 6.11 pounds.
[As you can see,] we had several anglers rewarded with some pretty respectable size flathead catfish
for any tournament, Cunningham said.
According to Cunningham s log book, the largest catch of the year was a 40.9 pounder in Imperial
Valley and a 39 pounder flathead caught on last year.
Since this is a five part series fishing competition, Cunningham said the next leg of the tournament
will be the Canal Expedition, hosted in Imperial County in September, but everyone will come back in
October for the Grand Championship at Max s Bait Shop in Palo Verde.
At the last event in October, we will crown the flathead king and the channel king, Cunningham said.
The same people will come out again and compete at our season finale. Each qualifier weighted
amount for their biggest catch will be totaled and added to whatever they catch at this

Discrepancy Of Wealth In Canada
There is a growing discrepancy of wealth in Canada. The gap between the wealthy and the poor
continues to grow. Seventy percent of wealth in Canada belongs to the most affluent section of Canada
s population (Mojtehedzadeh, 2014) . Many believe that Canada is not going through such a dramatic
disparity between rich and poor in comparison to other countries. However, the rich get richer, while
the poor get poorer. The gap between the wealthy Canadians and the rest is constantly growing and the
primary reasons are the rising unemployment rate in Canada, globalization, inequality in wages and
salaries, and high education rates. One of the main factors that increases disparity between the rich
and the poor is the unemployment rate in Canada. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While import costs for goods and services are rising, the average income is not. Imports costs are
increasing as the value of the Canadian dollar falls. People who are working for a minimum wage
have almost no chance to purchase their own property in the near future. Housing prices in Canada are
constantly growing and are reaching record highs. In Canada, the average cost of living is about
$20,164 per year; which makes it quite difficult for individuals earning a minimum wage to support
themselves (Young, 2015). The increasing cost of living is often mentioned from consumers based on
an eye test. However, with the fallen value of the Canadian dollar, this is becoming truer by the day. In
its most recent decline, the Canadian dollar has decreased by fourteen percent to just above seventy
three cents US (Sreauss, 2015) Canada imports almost 81% percent of its fruits, vegetables and nuts.
Thus, as the Canadian dollar decreases in value, the cost of these items has increased. This results in
families spending more of their income on living expenses. Unfortunately for Canadians, their income
has not increased at the same rate (CBCNEWS, 2015). For individuals on social assistance, the
amount received rarely covers both the cost of shelter and food, leaving many to rely on food banks.
On social assistance, a family would need to spend 37% of its income on food and 69%

What Is The Value Of Life
Throughout our lives we are categorized into social classes, scrutinized and judged by others. With the
constant influences of others and society within our lives, it becomes hard to determine our purpose in
life and how our decisions will not only affect us but those around us. As stated in the bible, Human
life is a sacred essence, bequeathed to those who are made in the very image of the creator himself
(Genesis 1:26 27). The value of life is not determined by the materials that we may contain or social
status. It is what comes from within your heart; rather than being preoccupied about what society
thinks, we should be living to our fullest and making a difference within the world for tomorrow may
not be promised.
In today s day and age, many people have become self consumed rather than trying to make a good
impact in other s lives. As Albert Einstein once stated The value of a man should be seen in what he
gives and not what he is able to receive (Albert Einstein Quotes. BrainyQuote. Xplore, n.d. Web. 12
July 2017). Orson Scotts Ender s Game, is a good representation of the value of life because Ender
whom is a young child, sacrifices his life by enrolling into a military school in order to protect his
country as well as his loved ones. Throughout Ender s Game, Ender and a group of other young
children are picked by the government to be enrolled into a military school to be trained to battle in a
war against a foreign species that plan to invade their

The Ethics Of The Corporate Veil
Introduction
The corporate veil is a term that refers to the concept of treating a corporation as a separate legal entity
from its shareholders and thus bestowing upon it separate rights, obligations and liabilities. In the
landmark case of Salomon v Salomon, the court stated that the liability of company shareholders is
limited only to the extent of their capital contributions. The court also explained that since companies
are separate legal entities from shareholders, they are separately liable for debt and obligatory
responsibilities.
However, there have been special circumstances where English courts have found it necessary to lift
the corporate veil for the sake of delivering justice. Although such instances are rare, the possibility of
lifting the corporate veil has generated controversy. Such controversy primarily revolves around the
uncertainty of circumstances in which lifting the corporate veil is necessary. This paper provides a
critical analysis of instances in which lifting the corporate veil is necessary. The analysis applies
examples and evidence from English case law, statutes and other applicable legal principles.
Lifting the corporate veil
Fraud (avoiding existing obligations)
The most prominent instance in which English courts allow lifting of the corporate veil is when
individuals establish companies to commit fraud. Fraud, in this case, means avoidance of existing
obligations resultant of contracts or legal provisions. The Salomon case is

Analysis Of Mihayao Spirited Away By Miyazaki Hayao...
In a traditional or typical family, it is always understood that children are meant to and able to rely on
their parents for both safety and emotional support. In the film by Miyazaki Hayao Spirited Away, we
observe a family far from the traditional sense of the word. Much of this film is about a young ten year
old girl who is forced to save herself and her parents from being forever stuck in a world separate of
their own. The relationships she loses and gains form her into a different person than who she is in the
beginning of the film. Susan Napier asserts in her book Anime from Akira to Howl s Moving Castle
Chihiro is a bratty child with parents who seem to be detached with her and as we see in the film
selfish and indulgent in their own desires (181). These factors all contribute to the development and
relationships of Chihiro in the film as well as the idea of family. At the beginning of the film as
Chihiro and her parents are driving to their new home in the countryside, we are introduced to the type
of relationships and personality of the family members. Napier describes her parents as disconnected
from each other and their daughter and Chihiro as a whiny, sullen, and self obsessed child (181). Right
off the bat we are able to see a significant difference in what a family is considered to be and how it is
represented in the film. As mentioned before a family is meant to care for each other and parents are
meant to care for their children especially, however perhaps because of these circumstances we are led
on the journey of Chihiro s evolution from that of a spoiled child to a braver and assertive child. Upon
getting lost in the forest by taking a shortcut, the father decides instead of trying to find their way back
to the road, on exploring the mysterious tunnel and the mother follows, telling Chihiro to stay in the
car while they go off to see what is on the other end.
Already we see how different the role of the father is portrayed as someone who thinks of his own
desires and being before that of his wife or daughter. In the traditional role of a father, he is the person
who is the protector of his family and as such he is meant to put his family first. It is pointed out in
Napier s book

This is not a prank, it s not mischief, it s sexual, it s predatory, it s high risk and it s criminal. Arntfield,
a former police officer, is confident that one of the incidents the mutilated goose that was dropped off
at the humane society suggests the person has been to the humane society before. Two years ago,
Arntfield said he received a tip that someone was going to the London Humane Society claiming to be
a rescuer and asking to adopt animals with the sole purpose of torturing them and mutilating them.
Arntfield told police and the humane society and urged them to examine the adoption files. Nothing
happened, he said. This is a serial animal killer, Arntfield said, calling it a clear case of zoosadism
being sadistic to an animal with an underlying sexual component. London police said they are taking
the matter very seriously. Const. Sandasha Bough said the force has assigned an investigator to the
case, but noted they were only made aware of two incidents two dead coyotes found by a grocery store
last February and the beheaded dog last week. The London police best get their act together very soon,
if they believe this sick bastard who ever he or she is will simply stop they are as delerious as this

Coral Reef Deforestation
Where have all the coral reefs gone? Reef deforestation has been occurring around the globe at an
alarming rate and is affecting us more than we think. These beautiful reefs are a diverse marine
version of a tropical rainforest and is an ecosystem that homes thousands of species. Coral reefs grow
in oceans that are clear and clean and they need the sun for photosynthesis. Unfortunately, this
underwater paradise is becoming less and less of an attraction due to the destruction of them. Places
such as Mexico, Australia and Florida are having shortages of income due to the lack of coral reefs.
As well as the fact that industries aren t getting a steady income, marine animals are suffering too.
When coral reefs are destroyed, all the marine life that the coral reef supported now doesn t have a

tourists so that the reefs can be enjoyed for many years later. The last major issue that affects coral

can affect coral reefs but they do. The extra pesticides get absorbed into groundwater or end up in
surface runoff which leads right into lakes, rivers or oceans. These pesticides get eaten by algae and
enhances their growth, causing the corals to be suffocated. These pesticides are being consumed by
marine life that is located near the reefs. This can result in marine animals dying or getting

How Xenophon’s Oeconomicus is a Response to Aristophanes’...
A significant body of work regarding how Xenophon s Oeconomicus is a response to Aristophanes
Clouds has been written in the last few decades, beginning with Leo Strauss s enigmatic book on the
dialogue. And while great consideration has gone into the pronounced relationship between these two
works, as well as its relation to Xenophon s treatises on the arts and his Hiero, the fertile Oeconomicus
has many more fruits to yield for us regarding a greater understanding of the coherence of the dialogue
to Xenophon s thought. Xenophon presents much of his thought in a manner that requires readers to
constantly keep in mind Plato s thought but also diligently strive to discern Xenophon s voice. We can

It is a persistent reminder that Zeus Soter [the Preserver] became Zeus Eleutherios [the Deliverer],
signifying the transforming notion of freedom in Greece from one stressing fortification to actively
engaging to ensure the avoidance of slavery. That the Greeks were kept from being enslaved by the
Persians fosters good reason to be pious. 6 With both dialogues taking place in this awning of
veneration it seems to suggest a retaliation of sorts to the accusations of the impiety of the Socrates
depicted in Aristophanes Clouds; the Socrates who replaced Dios [Zeus] with dinos [Vortex].7
Demodocus and Theages have to come into the city seeking advice, and as it turns out hoping for
advice from Socrates himself, as is later revealed. On the other hand, it is apparently by good fortune
that Socrates comes across Ischomachus while he is inside the city on business. Otherwise Socrates
would have had to go outside the city walls and visit him on his estate. Demodocus has to gently
persuade Socrates to step into the portico, away from the bustle of the agora. Once in they are in the
shade we might reasonably infer that the dialogue between Demodocus, Theages, and Socrates takes
place while standing since it is an unmentioned detail but also because it is such a short conversation.
Ischomachus, however, is already seated in the colonnade when he and the young Socrates initiate
their discussion, suggesting the

Graffiti Research Paper
Graffiti can be recognized as a form of art, or a crime, but I see it as mischievous beauty. Graffiti
consists of inscriptions, slogans and drawings scratched, scribbled or painted on a wall or other public
or private surface. In the book (Let The Great World Spin, 168), Fernando Yunque Marcano explains,
The ones you find in darkness. Way in the sides of the tunnels. The surprise of them. The deeper the
better. Lit up by the moving lights of the train and caught for just an instant so that he s never quite
sure if he s seen them or not. . Graffiti is used by people to express their deepest emotions, to give
others a glimpse of a part of their life, whether it s a triumph or a tragedy, or to have others ponder and

But for those who can, the murals and graffiti are considered art. In the show Switched at birth, there
are two scenarios where graffiti played a crucial part. Once was when Bay and Emmett got back
together after Emmett cheated on her. To show her how apologetic he was, he spray painted two whole
sides of a building of all their special memories almost like a timeline of their entire relationship.
Another was when Bay got into some trouble and she meets a detainee, Tess, who has a son, Sam, that
is battling a heart condition. Tess is a very aggressive and hostile single mother. When Bay comes to
find out why she behaves that way she spray paints a bench with the picture of Tess holding on to Sam
kissing him with the quote Everyday heroes written next to it. This picture is like a reminder to her of
what a great mother she is and no matter how hard the going gets she can t give up on her son. Often
times just looking at a masterpiece that you can relate your life to can give you a sense of
encouragement and hope that everything will be okay. The completion of a piece or a production
involves a great deal of imagination, planning, and effort. A picture speaks a thousand words. One can

That is what we will discuss in this paper. Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is a computerized database that stores all of the personal and medical information of the patient s care and billing information by the health care providers. Today, only the providers and medical practices can implement these systems. This is something that needs to be changed because it is important to be able to see this information globally. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The EMR system is better for some doctors because it eliminates the unclear handwriting, thus cutting down on the unclear writing mistakes by doctors. The patients have been released from the hospital at a rate of at least one day earlier than the patients with paper records and these bills were almost $900.00 less than when they used the paper records. There have been many deaths each year because of the wrong medication being written on the prescription paperwork and a pharmacist misread the handwriting on the form. If this information is typed the chances of making a mistake are less. There are also EMR systems that diagnose diseases and treatments, which is another advantage. Just imagine how fast the patient can be healed if a computer program can predict the results of an illness by entering the symptoms such as a device that searches for glaucoma via computer generated images, the analyzing of mammograms and the ultrasound device to analyze lumps in a females breast that determine if it is benign or cancerous. Most of the time these computer systems have accuracy rate of 80% or more which is the last advantages that we will talk about today. The last advantage we will talk about is Telemedicine, which is remote performance of medical exams, analyses and procedures using computer networks and also specialized equipment. • 11. The Glass Menagerie Essay The Glass Menagerie In The Glass Menagerie, Tennessee Williams places his characters in difficult situations throughout the play. Laura Wingfield is a very shy person with an illness that has left her crippled. This illness makes Laura fearful and it causes her to think less of herself. Amanda Wingfield (laura s mother) fancies laura to marry a man that will care for her, since she is young and dependent. Laura accepts the fact that she will not have any gentleman callers because she is insecure of herself. Anxiety crushes laura in finding that her high school crush will be attending them for dinner. Laura shares similar characteristics to her glass unicorn because they are both unique and fragile. To start off, in The Glass Menagerie, Laura has to face many standards in her love life. • 13. Climate Changes And Climate Change Essay Climate change is defined by the Intergovernmental panel on climate change ( IPCC) as a variation in the mean state of climate persisting for an extended period of time typically decades or longer while the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) defines climate change as a change in the climate which is attributed directly or indirectly to human activities that alters the composition of the global atmosphere and which is in addition to natural climate variability observed over comparable time periods. Climate change can also be defined as a change of climate which is attributed directly or indirectly to human activity that alters the composition of the global atmosphere and which is in addition to natural climate variability observed over comparable time periods (UNFCC, 1992; Obioha, 2009). It involves a change in both the mean meteorological values and variability of these values. The expected change in mean climatic conditions is expected to be a slow process, occurring over many decades (Obeta, 2009). Climate variability describes seasonal changes, inter annual variability and the likely frequency of weather related intense events. • 15. Anne Sexton Anne Sexton Michealangelo, perhaps the most gifted sculptor and painter of all times, once said that geniuses stand on the shoulders of other geniuses. As Michelangelo built upon the brilliance of his predecessors, Anne Sexton does the same in her collection of poems entitled Transformations. She renovated fairy tales as told by the Brothers Grimm by adding her own life experiences and view of contemporary culture, hammering away until she built an entirely new art form. Anne Sexton has had a notable effect upon the literary genre of fairy tales through this shocking transformation of classic tales. The book was well received and marked the beginning of her rise to the top. 1967 another major year in Sexton s career; she won the Pulitzer Prize for Live or Die. Transformations, her book of poetic fairy tales, was published later in 1971. On October 4, 1974, shortly after the release of Transformations, Anne could no longer stand the pressures of her existence and committed suicide. This biographical information is essential to understanding Anne Sexton s influence on the fairy tale because her transformations of the Grimm Brother s work rises out of her personal turmoil. Most of Sexton s works before and after Transformations are of the confessional style, but through her poetic transformations of fairy tales, Sexton gives herself a more discrete outlet for her passions (Ostriker 255). Her biographer Diane Middlebrook notes that the poems were a way to place her struggles in legend rather than personal history (37). The intensely metaphorical characters of Sexton s fairy poetry are one example of this. For instance, Judith the cold and neglectful mother in Snow White surely represents Sexton s own callous mother (Middlebrook 37). Sexton s father is also recognizable in her work as ... The Career Of A Real Estate Agent Essay The career of a Real Estate agent is a unique work environment that has various opportunities and requires specialized study and various personal attributes to successfully run a real estate team or brokerage at a high level of business. As a result of research, l have concluded that a Real Estate career is a possible career choice for me. The real estate work environment ranges from person to person. A single person may conduct his or her business completely alone, or teams of multiple agents may work together. Teams can also work under a brokerage or work independently, although a broker s license is required for an independent team. Real Estate teams that work under a brokerage must pay a percent of earned commission to that brokerage. An example of a brokerage is Keller Williams Capital Partners. This brokerage has multiple teams conducting operations under their name. For every sale that a team makes under Keller Williams, they must pay a percent of their commission, or profit. By obtaining a broker s license, a team or individual receives one hundred percent of the commissioned they make. In Canada, the average cost of living is about $20,164 per year; which makes it quite difficult for individuals earning a minimum wage to support themselves (Young, 2015). • 24. What Is The Value Of Life Throughout our lives we are categorized into social classes, scrutinized and judged by others. With the constant influences of others and society within our lives, it becomes hard to determine our purpose in life and how our decisions will not only affect us but those around us. As stated in the bible, Human life is a sacred essence, bequeathed to those who are made in the very image of the creator himself (Genesis 1:26 27). The value of life is not determined by the materials that we may contain or social status. It is what comes from within your heart; rather than being preoccupied about what society thinks, we should be living to our fullest and making a difference within the world for tomorrow may not be promised. In today s day and age, many people have become self consumed rather than trying to make a good impact in other s lives. As Albert Einstein once stated The value of a man should be seen in what he gives and not what he is able to receive (Albert Einstein Quotes. BrainyQuote. Xplore, n.d. Web. 12 July 2017). The Ethics Of The Corporate Veil Introduction The corporate veil is a term that refers to the concept of treating a corporation as a separate legal entity from its shareholders and thus bestowing upon it separate rights, obligations and liabilities. In the landmark case of Salomon v Salomon, the court stated that the liability of company shareholders is limited only to the extent of their capital contributions. The court also explained that since companies are separate legal entities from shareholders, they are separately liable for debt and obligatory responsibilities. However, there have been special circumstances where English courts have found it necessary to lift the corporate veil for the sake of delivering justice. Although such instances are rare, the possibility of lifting the corporate veil has generated controversy. Such controversy primarily revolves around the uncertainty of circumstances in which lifting the corporate veil is necessary. This paper provides a critical analysis of instances in which lifting the corporate veil is necessary. The analysis applies examples and evidence from English case law, statutes and other applicable legal principles. Lifting the corporate veil Fraud (avoiding existing obligations) The most prominent instance in which English courts allow lifting of the corporate veil is when individuals establish companies to commit fraud. • 26. Analysis Of Mihayao Spirited Away By Miyazaki Hayao... In a traditional or typical family, it is always understood that children are meant to and able to rely on their parents for both safety and emotional support. In the film by Miyazaki Hayao Spirited Away, we observe a family far from the traditional sense of the word. Much of this film is about a young ten year old girl who is forced to save herself and her parents from being forever stuck in a world separate of their own. The relationships she loses and gains form her into a different person than who she is in the beginning of the film. Susan Napier asserts in her book Anime from Akira to Howl s Moving Castle Chihiro is a bratty child with parents who seem to be detached with her and as we see in the film selfish and indulgent in their own desires (181). These factors all contribute to the development and relationships of Chihiro in the film as well as the idea of family. At the beginning of the film as Chihiro and her parents are driving to their new home in the countryside, we are introduced to the type of relationships and personality of the family members. Napier describes her parents as disconnected from each other and their daughter and Chihiro as a whiny, sullen, and self obsessed child (181). Right off the bat we are able to see a significant difference in what a family is considered to be and how it is represented in the film. As mentioned before a family is meant to care for each other and parents are meant to care for their children especially, however perhaps because of these circumstances we are led on the journey of Chihiro s evolution from that of a spoiled child to a braver and assertive child. Upon getting lost in the forest by taking a shortcut, the father decides instead of trying to find their way back to the road, on exploring the mysterious tunnel and the mother follows, telling Chihiro to stay in the car while they go off to see what is on the other end. Already we see how different the role of the father is portrayed as someone who thinks of his own desires and being before that of his wife or daughter. In the traditional role of a father, he is the person who is the protector of his family and as such he is meant to put his family first. It is pointed out in Napier s book ... These beautiful reefs are a diverse marine version of a tropical rainforest and is an ecosystem that homes thousands of species. Coral reefs grow in oceans that are clear and clean and they need the sun for photosynthesis. Unfortunately, this underwater paradise is becoming less and less of an attraction due to the destruction of them. Places such as Mexico, Australia and Florida are having shortages of income due to the lack of coral reefs. As well as the fact that industries aren t getting a steady income, marine animals are suffering too. When coral reefs are destroyed, all the marine life that the coral reef supported now doesn t have a habitat. Many tourism areas for coral reefs can be warned about the issues and taught how to safely handle reefs while still getting the experience. However, some areas are careless and don t know the importance of educating tourists so that the reefs can be enjoyed for many years later. The last major issue that affects coral reefs is pollution and the overuse of pesticides/fertilizers. You may wonder why pesticides/fertilizers can affect coral reefs but they do. • 32. How Xenophon’s Oeconomicus is a Response to Aristophanes’... A significant body of work regarding how Xenophon s Oeconomicus is a response to Aristophanes Clouds has been written in the last few decades, beginning with Leo Strauss s enigmatic book on the dialogue. And while great consideration has gone into the pronounced relationship between these two works, as well as its relation to Xenophon s treatises on the arts and his Hiero, the fertile Oeconomicus has many more fruits to yield for us regarding a greater understanding of the coherence of the dialogue to Xenophon s thought. Xenophon presents much of his thought in a manner that requires readers to constantly keep in mind Plato s thought but also diligently strive to discern Xenophon s voice. We can easily recognize the relation of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is a persistent reminder that Zeus Soter [the Preserver] became Zeus Eleutherios [the Deliverer], signifying the transforming notion of freedom in Greece from one stressing fortification to actively engaging to ensure the avoidance of slavery. That the Greeks were kept from being enslaved by the Persians fosters good reason to be pious. 6 With both dialogues taking place in this awning of veneration it seems to suggest a retaliation of sorts to the accusations of the impiety of the Socrates depicted in Aristophanes Clouds; the Socrates who replaced Dios [Zeus] with dinos [Vortex].7 Demodocus and Theages have to come into the city seeking advice, and as it turns out hoping for advice from Socrates himself, as is later revealed. On the other hand, it is apparently by good fortune that Socrates comes across Ischomachus while he is inside the city on business. Otherwise Socrates would have had to go outside the city walls and visit him on his estate. Demodocus has to gently persuade Socrates to step into the portico, away from the bustle of the agora. Once in they are in the shade we might reasonably infer that the dialogue between Demodocus, Theages, and Socrates takes place while standing since it is an unmentioned detail but also because it is such a short conversation. Ischomachus, however, is already seated in the colonnade when he and the young Socrates initiate their discussion, suggesting the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Graffiti Research Paper Graffiti can be recognized as a form of art, or a crime, but I see it as mischievous beauty. Graffiti consists of inscriptions, slogans and drawings scratched, scribbled or painted on a wall or other public or private surface. In the book (Let The Great World Spin, 168), Fernando Yunque Marcano explains, The ones you find in darkness. Way in the sides of the tunnels. The surprise of them. The deeper the better. Lit up by the moving lights of the train and caught for just an instant so that he s never quite sure if he s seen them or not. . Graffiti is used by people to express their deepest emotions, to give others a glimpse of a part of their life, whether it s a triumph or a tragedy, or to have others ponder and relate it to their own lives, ... In the show Switched at birth, there are two scenarios where graffiti played a crucial part. Once was when Bay and Emmett got back together after Emmett cheated on her. To show her how apologetic he was, he spray painted two whole sides of a building of all their special memories almost like a timeline of their entire relationship. Another was when Bay got into some trouble and she meets a detainee, Tess, who has a son, Sam, that is battling a heart condition. Tess is a very aggressive and hostile single mother. When Bay comes to find out why she behaves that way she spray paints a bench with the picture of Tess holding on to Sam kissing him with the quote Everyday heroes written next to it. This picture is like a reminder to her of what a great mother she is and no matter how hard the going gets she can t give up on her son. Often times just looking at a masterpiece that you can relate your life to can give you a sense of encouragement and hope that everything will be okay. The completion of a piece or a production involves a great deal of imagination, planning, and effort. A picture speaks a thousand words. • 34. Hive Vs Rdf 1.Hive Introduction: Business analysts, Data scientists, Data analysts, Statisticians, want to analyze the data for collecting the important characteristics of the data set. In 2004 Google introduced MapReduce. It simplified the data processing on a large cluster. But many organizations have only few developers who can write good MapReduce code, which is written in java. (MapReduce can be written in other languages). Hive was originally developed at Facebook. In 2007 in facebook, the data processing infrastructure was built using commercial RDBMS. The data that facebook generating was growing very fast. Today facebook generating near 2PB data sets everyday. So daily processing jobs were taking more than a day to process on that data set. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 1.1.Hive Vs. Relational RDBMS: Hive is a schema on read. In traditional database, before data loading, the table s data has to be decided. If the data being loaded doesn t match with the schema, the data will be rejected. Traditional database is schema on write. On other hand Hive doesn t verify the data while loading the data into the tables. But while issuing the query, Hive will test the data schema with the table schema. The load operation is just a file copy or file move. But while reading log files, during table creation we can use RegexSerDe. It uses regular expression to serialize/deserialize. The Regex deserializer interface converts the string or binary representation of the data set into a java object that Hive can manipulate. Serializer will convert the java object that Hive has been working with into something that Hive can write to HDFS or another supported system. 2.Hive Architecture: Fig 2.1 Hive Architecture Fig 2.1 shows the main components of Hive. The major components are External Interfaces Hive provides both user interfaces and Application Programming Interfaces. User inter faces like command line (CLI) and web UI, and application programming interfaces (API) like JDBC and ODBC.
