Anxiety Test
Name of the Test: Anxiety
Introduction: Meaning and determinants of Anxiety
(the theoretical part).
Purpose: To explore subject’s level of Anxiety
by using Sinha’s Self Analysis Inventory.

Material Used: Sinha’s Self Ananlysis Inventory
Paper,Pencil

Introduction of the Experiment:
The present test has tried to explore
the subject’s anxiety level by using
Sinha’s Self-Analysis Inventory. There
are total 90 questions in the inventory.
Each question having dichotomous
category of Yes and No. The subject
has to tick either on Yes or No . There
is no time limit to comlpete the test
but the total time taken by the subject
is recorded.
The range of subject’s score is 0-90. The
inventory is used to assess the subject’s anxiety
level.
Preliminary Set Up:
All the arrangements for conducting the test
were made before calling subject into the
laboratory. For example the inventory was issued
from the lab and it was properly checked to
ensure all the pages and visibility of the printing.
Pen was kept ready so that the subject may tick
his responses.
Rapport Formation:
After making all the
arrangements for doing the
test the subject was called
into the lab and
some preliminary questions was asked to the
subject such as his Name ,Educational
qualification, age etc so that the subject may
feel comfortable to do the test.
Instructions:After ensuring
that the subject is feeling
comfortable and he is ready to do
the test,the following instructions
were given to the subject.
‘’There are few questions in this
questionnaire.Each having two response
categories. You have to read each item then tick
on Yes if it is true for you and tick on No if it is
not true for you. In this way you have to give
answer of few item.
There is no Right or Wrong response for this test
and also there is no time limit to complete it. But
you try to complete it as soon as possible. You
dont have to leave any questions and dont worry
your responses would be kept strictly
confidential.”
Procedure: After ensuring that the subject has
understood all the instructions and he has no
doubts about doing the test , the subject was given
the questionnaire and the stop watch was kept on
to record the total time taken by the
Subject to complete the test. Once the subject
gave responses to all the item stop watch was
stopped and the total time was recorded. Before
the subject left the lab it was checked that he
gave responses to each item and his verbal
report was taken.
Verbal-Report:

Result and Interpretation:
After taking the verbal report of the
subject, he was thanked and scoring was
done carefully.
Yes Responses= 1 score
No Score= 0 score
In this way the total number of the subject
was calculated.
The raw scores was converted into %. Suppose
Raw score=45
Percentage =45/90X100
=50%

1.The subject was seated comfortably.
2. The environment of the lab was peaceful
and there was proper lightening in the lab.
3.The suject has understood all the instruction
well.

Anxiety test

  • 2. Name of the Test: Anxiety Introduction: Meaning and determinants of Anxiety (the theoretical part). Purpose: To explore subject’s level of Anxiety by using Sinha’s Self Analysis Inventory.
  • 3. Detail of the Subject Name- Age- Gender- Educational Qualification- Day,date and time- Material Used: Sinha’s Self Ananlysis Inventory Paper,Pencil Stop-Watch
  • 4. Introduction of the Experiment: The present test has tried to explore the subject’s anxiety level by using Sinha’s Self-Analysis Inventory. There are total 90 questions in the inventory. Each question having dichotomous category of Yes and No. The subject has to tick either on Yes or No . There is no time limit to comlpete the test but the total time taken by the subject is recorded.
  • 5. The range of subject’s score is 0-90. The inventory is used to assess the subject’s anxiety level. Preliminary Set Up: All the arrangements for conducting the test were made before calling subject into the laboratory. For example the inventory was issued from the lab and it was properly checked to ensure all the pages and visibility of the printing. Pen was kept ready so that the subject may tick his responses.
  • 6. Rapport Formation: After making all the arrangements for doing the test the subject was called into the lab and some preliminary questions was asked to the subject such as his Name ,Educational qualification, age etc so that the subject may feel comfortable to do the test.
  • 7. Instructions:After ensuring that the subject is feeling comfortable and he is ready to do the test,the following instructions were given to the subject. ‘’There are few questions in this questionnaire.Each having two response categories. You have to read each item then tick on Yes if it is true for you and tick on No if it is not true for you. In this way you have to give answer of few item.
  • 8. There is no Right or Wrong response for this test and also there is no time limit to complete it. But you try to complete it as soon as possible. You dont have to leave any questions and dont worry your responses would be kept strictly confidential.” Procedure: After ensuring that the subject has understood all the instructions and he has no doubts about doing the test , the subject was given the questionnaire and the stop watch was kept on to record the total time taken by the
  • 9. Subject to complete the test. Once the subject gave responses to all the item stop watch was stopped and the total time was recorded. Before the subject left the lab it was checked that he gave responses to each item and his verbal report was taken. Verbal-Report: “I .........”
  • 10. Result and Interpretation: After taking the verbal report of the subject, he was thanked and scoring was done carefully. Yes Responses= 1 score No Score= 0 score In this way the total number of the subject was calculated.
  • 11. The raw scores was converted into %. Suppose Raw score=45 Percentage =45/90X100 =50% Table-1 : Subject’s Performance Raw score % Obtained Interpretation 45 50% Average level of Anxiety
  • 12. Precautions: 1.The subject was seated comfortably. 2. The environment of the lab was peaceful and there was proper lightening in the lab. 3.The suject has understood all the instruction well. 4.The subject has responded to all items. Scoring was done carefully.
