2. Narrative
By planning my mise-en-scene it set up my lighting and for my
narrative because my lighting will be low key because I’ll be
doing it at night time for an eerie effect.
3. Characters
For characters mise-en-scene set it up because I had to pick
costumes, hair & makeup etc.
For the girls because of the time of the year (winter), they’ll be
in coats and jeans so they’re warm and their hair will be down.
My antagonist will be in all black, a black hoodie and jeans
because it’ll make him look more mysterious and creepy. On his
hoodie he’ll have his hood up.
4. Location
Again mise-en-scene sets up the location because it provides the
setting.
I’m having the setting at a dark, secluded street to make the
scenes more scary and then it’ll be like the girls have no help
because there’s no one around to help them.
Camera angles could set up the location too because at the
beginning of my opening sequence I’m having an establishing
shot to show the location, so the audience have an idea of
where the rest of the clips will be.
5. Genre
The lighting and setting set up genre because by having low key
lighting it makes the scenes creepy and most horrors are set in
the dark because darkness has connotations of death and
mysterious.
And by having an eerie setting it makes the audience fear what’s
going to happen.
