2. The type of media institution might distribute my film would
be an independent film company because it’s typical for
horror films to be an independent film because horror films
usually don’t earn as much money and have lower budgets.
As well as this, because of the genre it’s likely it won’t be
distributed in forms such as IMAX but maybe in 3D, lowering
the value.
This is the other reason for why mine could be an
independent film because it was very low budget as well.

3. The Blair Witch Project
The Blair Witch Project is also an independent
film. It’s about three film students who vanish after
travelling into a Maryland forest to film a
documentary on the local Blair Witch legend,
leaving only their footage behind. Much like my
film, it uses a limited amount of camera angles but
all the way through it’s a hand held camera (so it
looks like a home video) this gives the movie a
sense of realism. It was distributed by Artisan
Entertainment and was actually very successful
earning $248.6 million at the box office. I feel like
my film could be distributed by the same company
but it is a different type of style.
