This document discusses several environmental projects and initiatives in Poland: 1) The Changehabitats 2 project aims to develop cost-effective habitat monitoring procedures and software using airborne data acquisition. It involves several universities and research organizations. 2) The serverfootprint.com tool calculates the carbon footprint of server rooms based on power usage, air conditioning needs, daily usage, and maintenance. 3) The SEAP project compiled a greenhouse gas inventory for Bielsko-Biała and set a 20% reduction guideline. 4) The ekoforum initiative held seminars on environmental legislation and brought together researchers, industry, and administration to discuss regional problems.

Activity:
Calculation tool to calculate the CO2-equivalents of
serverroom in use
Scope:
The Calculation of the "Server Carbon Footprint" bases on answering 12
questions, which contains the emission equivalents out of:
- the power of the server(s)
- the necessary air-condition resulted from local (climate) conditions

- the external maintenance on the server

5. SEAP
Activity:
Sustainable Energy Action Plan for Bielsko-Biała
Scope:
- Compiled GHG inventory for 1990, 2008 and forecast for 2020 within the
sectors municipal, households, services, industry, lighting and transport
- Methodology used was based on final energy consumption: electricity, fossil
fuels (coal, oil, gas), central heating and transport fuels. Standard emission
factors were used.

Activity:
