This document discusses applying fuzzy transform to image fusion. It begins by defining image fusion as combining multiple input images into a single composite image that contains better scene description. It then categorizes fusion into multifocus, multimodal, multiview, and multitemporal fusion. For multifocus fusion, the input is images where one region is in focus in at least one image, and output is a fully focused image. Fuzzy transform is proposed for this using fuzzy sets and partitions to smooth edges and extract sharp parts to create a better fused image. The document provides equations for direct and inverse fuzzy transforms and examples of their application to image fusion.
