Question 1-
In this graph ive learnt that the majority of
people who have completed my survey find
the colours red and green as being more eye-
catching on a music magazine. This piece of
information is useful as the background of the
front cover of my magazine would need to be
eye-catching and attractive. By having people
give their opinions gives me a better
understanding on what colour I should go for
when whilst making my music magazine.
Overall the colours red and green have an
overall percentage of 25. Close to red and
green were the colours black and pink. This
gives me a Varity of well respected colours to
choose from.
Overall in this question, I used colours that I
was considering using in my magazine. By
doing this instead of stating random colours,
it meant that I would have a more relevant set
of answers to choose from that would be
more useful and effective to influencing my
decision.
Question 2-
This question helped me in deciding how many people I should include in my front cover. This was useful
piece of data for my photo shoot as it gave me a rough idea of how many people I should take pictures of
my models individually rather than getting all of them in one shot. The data I received told me that I should
include 1 model on my front cover rather than more. This is understandable as including one person in my
front cover would attract fans of that artists as more as it would if other artists are included in the front
cover. Furthermore, having one single artists would make more of an impact to the reader as it highlights
that this particular artist has an important message to say which would encourage people to pick up my
magazine and read it.
Question 3-
This question was extremely helpful on the
institutional side of my magazine as it gives a
clear indication as to what appropriate price I
should sell my magazine at. The overall price I
should be selling my magazine for was a total of
£4 for being a most useful amount.
I chose to have a different layout for this
question as it made using my quiz more fun and
interactive. This meant that viewers would not
get bored with the same layout of results.
Additionally the layout I chose was most useful
to the type of question I was asking as it
consisted of different options that the viewer
could click for each example. This enabled me to
receive an overall opinion from each individual
who filled out my survey without having to ask
them to perform a comment which is time
consuming and inefficient.
Question 4-
This question helped me compare other
music magazines using different opinions. I
chose to use a variety of well known music
magazines in the UK as it meant that I would
have various opinions of music magazines
my viewers should know. Additionally
because my survey would capture the
attention of people who are interested in
magazines, I would have more efficient and
effective comments which I can take
forward and consider when creating my
own magazine. In this particular question I
focussed my main interest on the name of
magazines to give me an idea of what I
should include and consider when deciding
a name for my magazine. Furthermore I also
analysed what is effective about these
particular music magazines in a different
post on my blog, by comparing this data and
the post together it would leave me with a
good idea on what to follow when
considering a name of my magazine.
Overall I found that most people are into Q
magazine because it is a short and simple
name to remember.
Question 5-
In this question I focused on analysing important features that would be consisted in music magazines. Most
of the majority of viewers said that a music magazine having an interesting and catchy title would be most
important. I mainly agree with this point as having an interesting and catchy title would mean that fans of
the magazine would find it way more easier to catch a magazine with a title consisting of those qualities as it
is the first thing someone would subconsciously read. Furthermore a title of a magazine acts like a
handshake in an interview. We tend to judge a magazine massively based on its title which highlights how I
must take great care whilst choosing the title of my magazine.
Question 6-
Question 6 gives me a good idea of what type of music I should be consisting in my magazine. The types of
music my magazine would have would attract different target audiences. This means I would need to
include genres of music that have a high fan basis resulting in more people buying my magazine. The results I
have gotten tell me that overall, 50% of people thought that R&B are a genre that is hugely adored by
today's generation. The types of music genres other people have chosen allow me to understand who had
been filling out my survey. For instance, people who chose classical music as an adored genre would most
likely be an older generation than the ones who have chosen R&B .
Question 7-
This question tells me prices people find attractive which I can place in my magazine. By having this sort of
information means I can sell different freebies in my magazine that a large majority of people would like to
consume. Furthermore this would also attract more people to by my magazine if my magazine has
something that they would like to consume. Giving freebies away would also increase the interaction that is
present from the magazine to the reader. This would make them have a stronger connection with my
magazine than with other magazines.
Overall the highest votes was for the free concert ticket freebie which got the total of 66.7%. The second
most popular freebie was a free I Tunes voucher. Overall i found that the freebies that are linked to music are
the most attractive to audiences.
Question 8-
This question was the least useful of all my questions as it had an equal amount of likings for both my
options. This therefore leaves the decision of having a weekly or monthly issue to myself. I can make this
decision by weighing out the benefits and disadvantages of having a weekly or monthly issue for my
magazine. Furthermore the fact that both my options have an equal opinions means that whatever option I
choose, it will not have a huge impact of the production of my magazine.
Question 9-
This question contains what social media
accounts are most used by audiences. The
advantages of having this data of social
media means that I can create social media
accounts that are mostly used by viewers in
order to advertise and gain a higher fan
basis for my magazine. Additionally this also
means that I am able to post news or
information that would be useful to my
viewers on social media concerning my
magazine. This would mean that my target
audiences would be easily noticeable and
they would also be able to keep up to date
with the performance and activities of my
magazine. This makes it easier to set a date
and tell my readers what is overall
happening with my magazine.
The majority of people said that Snap Chat
Instagram and Facebook are their most used
social media accounts consisting of 100%.
This gives me a wider choice of what social
media apps to use in order to present the
information of my music magazine to my
target audience.
Question 10-
This question gave me a rough idea of how to set out the layout for my contents page. This is useful pieces of
data to have because it gives me ideas on what my audiences would be willing to see in my music magazine.
From my data, I concluded that having a single page contents page was more respected than having a double
page spread. However I would rather stick to having a double page spread as this would mean that I can fit
more information and images onto my contents page rather than restricting the amount of things I can put
in my contents page. Additionally having a double page spread would make my music magazine more eye-
catching and attractive rather than having a single page.
