Research for my target audience
1.
2. I asked 10
students ages
15 to 24 (as this is the
age group I intend to
create the magazine for)
some questions about what
they would like a magazine to be
like and here are my results:
3. As shown in this pie chart, we are able to see
that Pop, Hip Hop and R&B are the most
listened to genres of music. This gives me
an idea of what genres I should use to
create a successful magazine.

R&B
Rock
Indie
Dance
Jazz
Country
4. As shown, we are able to see that the
maximum people will pay for a music
magazine is £5, so this gives me an idea
of the class I will be targeting and the
price of my magazine.

7. As we can see, half of people
questioned mainly buy music magazines
to know about the latest music and
concerts. This question enables me to
figure out what I want to include in my
magazine.
To know about the
latest music and
concerts
To read about what
artists have been up to

8. As we can see, one third of my question
hase been answered ‘British’ this gives
me an idea of what artists I should
include in my magazine so it is a good
music magazine.
British
American
9. 1. In the first question, I am able to choose the genres of my magazine, these genres will be
Pop, Hip Hop and R&B, as they are the most liked music genres. The reason I am choosing three
genres is because I want to create a unique, hybrid magazine, as manymagazines do not focus
on more than one genre.
2. The second question helps me chose a resonable price for my magazine, as many people do
not like to spend more than £5 on magazines in a month. I have chosen to make my magazine
£2.50, as I have also chosen to target my magazine, at the working and lower class who are
studying, and I believe that this price is very resonable for them.
3. Question three, has helped me pick what I should include in the magazine! I will be advertising
concerts and gigs etc... In my magazine, so my audience are kept up to dat with the latest
concerts. I will also be holding competitions for my target audience to be able to win some VIP
tickets to see their favourite artists.
4. For the fourth question, I asked my target audience what they would like to see on the front
cover of a magazine, they have chosen that a good main image and a resonable price is what
they want to see on their favourite magazines. So this gives me the idea that a high
resolution, luring image is needed to create the perfect magazine front cover, and I have
already chosen to give my magazine a cheap price.
5. Question five helped me figure out what sort of things to include in my magazine, mos tpeople
on read music magazines to know about the latest music and concerts, so every fortnight I will
make sure I have the latest on both.
6. The sixth question, simply asks what artists they want to know about, national or international? My
target audience answered national, this gives me an idea of what artists to include in my
magazine, and also what ethnicity I shall be targeting, which will be British.
