Questionnaire Analysis
To grasp more of an understanding on what would make my
magazine suitable to the public, I created a survey of 10
questions to help me to plan out how I should create my
magazine. I used surveymonkey.com to create my questions
and got responses from friends and social networking. I did this
to get a range of views and not just those of my friends. I think
that the feedback from this survey has helped me get a vision
of how my magazine should be.
My first question conveys that most people would be
willing to pay for a magazine. The most popular
opinion was that most people would pay between the
range of £1.01-£2. This tells me that this would be a
suitable price for my product.
This question highlights to me that many people don’t
usually buy magazines but few buy very little a year.
This tells me that having a weekly edition of my
magazine may not be the best idea and having a
monthly/bi-monthly may be a better option to take.
This helped me a lot with my magazine as it helped me
decide which genre my magazine would be catered
towards. From this, I have decided to choose an
alternative magazine. I have chosen this because although
it wasn’t the most popular, it still proved that people liked
this type of music and I believe there aren’t as many
magazines out in the public, which are alternative, as
many seem to have pop as their genre.
From this, I grasp that most people don’t have a favourite
music magazine. This is good for me as this means they would
be more likely to buy my new magazine, as they will not be
already loyal to one, which is already in the market.
This question was extremely helpful as it gave me
an idea of how people generally ready magazines.
The most popular option was reading on their
phone. From this, I have identified that my
magazine should include an app of some sort in
which people can read it online once subscribed.
This question is interesting to me as most people
have said that they haven’t seen a magazine
advertised. This was surprising but also good for
me as that means that it will be easier to compete
with other magazines, as people don’t usually see
these adverts thus giving me an opportunity to
advertise on social network and putting my
magazine out in the public eye.
This was one of the questions that were most
important to me as it helped me decide which
would feature on my front cover. The most popular
opinion was the colour scheme would attract
customers the most. With this, I have decided to go
ahead and add a vibrant colour along with my black
and grey colour scheme to attract the customer’s
eye.
On this question, I wanted to get a feel for what
would ultimately make people buy a magazine and
if I could implement these into my own magazine.
Some of my feedback included: colours, fonts,
stories and how up to date it is. This reinforced all
of my ideas and made me decide that these are the
things in which I would strive to achieve.
This question helped to choose which would be the
most effective way of marketing on social media. From
this, I think that I should maybe try and use social
media to market m magazine on all of these 3 social
network sites. I have decided this because most people
use all three of these sites and this could increase
people who see my magazine.
This conveys to me that there is a gap in the market for
my product as the most popular option was that people
were likely to buy my magazine. This tells me that my
magazine could in fact sell in the market and that people
would be willing to buy a new magazine.
