This document presents an advanced maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm based on the artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm for photovoltaic systems operating under partial shading conditions. The proposed method improves upon traditional techniques like perturb and observe (P&O) by efficiently locating the global maximum power point, even when multiple local maxima are present due to shading. Simulation results demonstrate that the ABC algorithm quickly and effectively tracks the maximum power point without oscillations, unlike the P&O approach which can lead to instability.
