We are delighted to see ourselves
connected to this very first publica-
tion of AMGOI newsletter as an
editor and co-editor. It’s our im-
mense pleasure to present first issue
of ‘AMGOI News. We hope this
newsletter would stand as a shining
star in the skies of academics and
would reveal the brightness of the
institution. It was a challenge to
give justice to all the versatile activ-
ities which we carry out in our insti-
tute, but at the same time it shows
the vitality of our institution and
involvement of people. We would

One day workshop on “Journey towards success-
ful engineer “was organized for final year and
third year students of Electrical Engineering on
26.7.2016, Prof. A.J. Maske, Faculty of Manage-
ment, AMGOI, was the resource person. He
taught how to achieve goal in predefined and
swift manner apart from that how to tackle stress
and anger in professional life.

Expert Lectures
One day workshop on “ARDUINO” was organized
for final year students of Electrical Engineering on
20.08.2016, Prof.. K.S. Desai, Faculty of Electrical
Department, AMGOI, was the resource person. He
conducted hands-on experiments on application ori-
ented examples. Pushing the student to become more
independent and self confident to implement it in their
own final year project.
Study visit was organized by Electrical Department
for third year student on 26.08.2016 and 27.08.2016 at
Kolhapur substation, Prof. K.S.Desai and Prof. A.A.
Malgave, Faculty of Electrical Department, AMGOI,
and Mr. Shelake, Executive Engineer has guided our
third year students about substation, substation equip-
ment's, their working, about SCADA and mobile ap-
plication. Students were introduced to the practical
scenario how a substation is working.
Guest lecture organized by Electrical Department for
all students on 27.08.2016. The source person was
Mr. Rajesh Chavan. He talked to student how to
behave and work is done in corporate environment.,
how people interact with each other, how the task
assigned helps us to enhance our technical
knowledge as well as personality.
Guest lecture for B.E. students was organized on
31.08.2016. Mr. Shrikant Dhokate shared his own
experience on how he prepared and how the scenario
is been changing for competitive exams. How to
remain prepared and updated for exams.
Expert Talk was given by our Alumni, Mr.Murli
Naidu on 21.09.2016. He shared his experience how
corporate world works and how it is totally different
from academic environment. What industry is ex-
pecting from a fresh engineer, how to approach the
specific industry.

Civil Engineering
The world photography day was celebrated on 19th
Au-
gust 2016. Various photographs collected from students
and faculty were displayed. Huge response was received
from the students.
On 15th
September 2016, Engineer day was celebrated in
fond memory of Sir Vishvesarayya.
Blood donation camp arranged by Civil Engineering Stu-
dent Association (CESA) on the date 20th
September
2016. A total of 211 students from campus donated their
blood. Prof. J.M. Shinde, faculty coordinator CESA,
along with Dr. Priti Rajput, Medical Officer of San-
jeevani Blood Bank, Kolhapur managed the event.
On the occasion of “Van Savarndhan Din” on 23rd
July
Activities by Student Association
2016, CESA organized “Tree Plantations” on in the
college premises. The program was inaugurated by the
Dr. K Ravi, Director, AMGOI in presence of Prof. A.
V. Karvekar, Head of Department. Prof. J. M. Shinde &
Prof. D.B. Ghag played key role in the organizing event.
On the occasion of fresher’s party, CESA organized
entertainment program named as, “Hasyavinod & Mim-
icry” on 21st
September 2016. For this program Mr.
B.N. Jagtap was invited. Direct second year students
were greeted with Welcome Function. Different games
were organized along with selection of Mr. Fresher and
Miss. Fresher.

Formation of ETSA (Electronics and Telecommunication
Engineering Student Association) was carried out on 25th
July, 2016. in presence of Prof. P. B. Ghewari, H.O.D
(E&TC) and Prof S. A. Bhosale, ETSA coordinator. Stu-
dent coordinators were elected as Onkar Chougule - Pres-
ident, Tushar Patil - Vice-President and Sabina Momin -
Treasurer. ETSA association is formed for the develop-
ment of the Department Students in Personal, Social
and Technical Aspects.
“Guru Pornima” was celebrated on 19th
July, 2016. The
event was organized by Students for showing gratitude
towards their Guru’s. Students greeted teachers by felici-
tating them with a Plant, passing a social message of tree
plantation and explaining the importance of tree planta-
tion. Prof P. B. Ghewari H.O.D E&TC, addressed stu-
dents. The event was a way to show the respect to the
teachers who contributes greatly in a person’s life.

Student of Electrical Department organized
Teacher’s Day function on 03.09.2016. On this
day students played the teachers role to their
fellow students. On this day all students and lec-
tures were taken by our senior students fulfilling
the duties of faculty showing gratitude and re-
spect to their teachers. Small function was ar-
ranged in the evening increasing interaction be-
tween students and faculty.
All students of Electrical Engineering Depart-
ment have celebrated “Engineer’s Day” on Sep-

tember 15th, 2016 at AMGOI, Vathar. Students greeted
teachers by felicitating them. Prof Mrs. S.H Shete, H.O.D
of Electrical Department, addressed students through her
speech. The event was by a way of a tribute to engineers
who are greatest contribution in a person’s life. Tribute to
Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, Architect of Krishnara-
jasagar Dam who played a key role in building of modern
India “Energy Awareness Program” was organized on
16.09.2016 at nearby schools. Prof. U. V. Patil, coordi-
nated the event. The Moto of the program was to aware
the students of schools about energy scenario and why
should we conserve it. Concept is to target a complete
home by simply educating the youngest mind of the fami-
ly. As these students are going to play major role in the
mission as they grow.
Fresher’s Party was organized on 19.09.2016 to welcome
new second year students to our department. The new
student got chance to interact to regular students taking
comfort levels of fresh students to new heights. Many
games were organized as part of party to increase the
interaction between new student and regular students.
Prizes were distributed to topper along with achiever in
various field like sports, presentation etc.
Industrial Visit” was organized for Third year students
on 28.09.2016 at ‘Radhanagari Dam’. In this visit the
students got idea about “Hydro Power Plant” and gener-
ation of Electricity. Students were able to see the tur-
bines in actual working at dam, a very rare thing acces-
sible to student. The students were exposed to complex
mechanical and electrical assembly working simultane-
ously for generation of electricity. Students were able to
identify methodology for estimating water storage ca-
pacity of reservoir.

Social Outreach
Yoga Day
Under flagship of National Service Scheme (NSS) on
June 21, International Yoga Day was celebrated at
AMGOI campus. Smt. Dimpal Gajwani, International
Teacher, Art of Living, Kolhapur, was invited for guid-
ance. About 100 Students and faculties were benefitted.
Practice session for Yoga, Dhyan, and Pranayama was

Prof. Mrs. Sangita Shete successfully organized yoga
day.
Passport & PAN Card Camp
As per the demand by students and faculties NSS team
at AMGOI organized passport and pan card camp at
college campus on 28th
July 2016. More than 50 stu-
dents were benefitted. This activity conducted under the
guidance of NSS Program officers Dr. Bhagwan Patil
and Dr. S B Kemdarne.
Tree Plantation
The tree plantation activity was organized in presence
of Mrs. U S Patil, Mr. R J Chavan, Charity commission-
ers, Kolhapur. Hon'ble Vijaysigh Mane, President, Shri
Balasaheb Mane Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Ambap
along with Dr. D N Mudgal, Executive Director boosted
the enthusiasm of students. On this occasion more
than 100 plants were planted by participants in
AMGOI campus. Dr. K Ravi, Director, AMGOI,
Prof. A A Vagayni, Principal, Ashokrao Mane Poly-
technic Hon’ble Babasaheb Mulik, Director,
SBMSPM, Ambap were present for tree plantation
ceremony. This activity was executed by NSS stu-
dent members under the guidance of Dr. S. B.
Kemdarne, Dr. Bhagwan Patil Program officers NSS
AMGOI, Prof. D B Ghag, of Civil engineering De-
partment.
Memorandum of Understanding was signed with
Gurukul foundation, Siddhgiri Math, Kaneri Kolha-
pur on 31st
August 2016. Dr. A.N. Chapgaon, Prof.
S.S. Todkar and Prof. V.A. Kulkarni represented the
institute.

Applied Science Department organized ‘Welcome
function for all FE students’ on Wednesday, 10th
August 2016. All first year students and their par-
ents were invited. Hon. Justice Umeshchandra
More, Secretary and Judge, Senior Division Kolha-
pur District, chaired the function. The academic
toppers were felicitated by the dignitaries. Parent
Representative Mr. M.D. Pise along with a few
senior students shared their valuable opinion. After
the rejoicing refreshment, the Departmental Visit
was arranged for FE students and their parents to en-
hance their awareness about institute facilities and prac-
tices. Dr. D. N. Mudgal, Executive Director, Dr. K. Ra-
vi, Director, Prof. A.A. Vagyani, Principal of Ashokrao
Mane Polytechnic, and Prof. V.A. Kulkarni, Dean Aca-
demics honored the dais as Chief dignitaries. Prof. Dr.
S.G. Chonde, Dr. M.B. Shelar along with HOD Prof.
D.S. Shinde ensured smooth conduction of the event.
Prof. S.V .Dhanawade and Prof. J.M. Lohar carried out
anchoring for the event.
