A highway pavement is a structure consisting of superimposed layers of processed materials above the natural soil sub-grade, whose primary function is to distribute the applied vehicle loads to the sub-grade. The pavement structure should be able to provide a surface of acceptable riding quality, adequate skid resistance, favorable light reflecting characteristics, and low noise pollution. The ultimate aim is to ensure that the transmitted stresses due to wheel load are sufficiently reduced, so that they will not exceed bearing capacity of the sub-grade. Two types of pavements are generally recognized as serving this purpose, namely flexible pavements and rigid pavements.
Get an overview of pavement types, layers, and their functions, and pavement failures as Improper design of pavements leads to early failure of pavements affecting the riding quality.
Pavements form the basic supporting structure in highway transportation. Each layer of pavement has a multitude of functions to perform which has to be duly considered during the design process. Different types of pavements can be adopted depending upon the traffic requirements.

A Good Effect of Airfoil Design While Keeping Angle of Attack by 6 Degreepaperpublications3
Abstract: Airfoil is a shape of wing or blade of (a propeller, rotor or turbine) by which a fluid generates an aerodynamic force. The component of this force perpendicular to the direction of its speed is called lift force and the component parallel to its speed is called drag forces. Here we see that if we set the angle of attack by 6 degree in fluid NACA0012 we found the aerodynamic forces with suitable positive result our research is totally based on iterations method and based on the help of cfd software.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
Using recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) for pavements is crucial to achieving sustainability. Implementing RCA for new pavement can minimize carbon footprint, conserve natural resources, reduce harmful emissions, and lower life cycle costs. Compared to natural aggregate (NA), RCA pavement has fewer comprehensive studies and sustainability assessments.
NUMERICAL SIMULATIONS OF HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER IN CONDENSING HEAT EXCHANGERS...ssuser7dcef0
Power plants release a large amount of water vapor into the
atmosphere through the stack. The flue gas can be a potential
source for obtaining much needed cooling water for a power
plant. If a power plant could recover and reuse a portion of this
moisture, it could reduce its total cooling water intake
requirement. One of the most practical way to recover water
from flue gas is to use a condensing heat exchanger. The power
plant could also recover latent heat due to condensation as well
as sensible heat due to lowering the flue gas exit temperature.
Additionally, harmful acids released from the stack can be
reduced in a condensing heat exchanger by acid condensation. reduced in a condensing heat exchanger by acid condensation.
Condensation of vapors in flue gas is a complicated
phenomenon since heat and mass transfer of water vapor and
various acids simultaneously occur in the presence of noncondensable
gases such as nitrogen and oxygen. Design of a
condenser depends on the knowledge and understanding of the
heat and mass transfer processes. A computer program for
numerical simulations of water (H2O) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4)
condensation in a flue gas condensing heat exchanger was
developed using MATLAB. Governing equations based on
mass and energy balances for the system were derived to
predict variables such as flue gas exit temperature, cooling
water outlet temperature, mole fraction and condensation rates
of water and sulfuric acid vapors. The equations were solved
using an iterative solution technique with calculations of heat
and mass transfer coefficients and physical properties.

Water billing management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Our project entitled “Water Billing Management System” aims is to generate Water bill with all the charges and penalty. Manual system that is employed is extremely laborious and quite inadequate. It only makes the process more difficult and hard.
The aim of our project is to develop a system that is meant to partially computerize the work performed in the Water Board like generating monthly Water bill, record of consuming unit of water, store record of the customer and previous unpaid record.
We used HTML/PHP as front end and MYSQL as back end for developing our project. HTML is primarily a visual design environment. We can create a android application by designing the form and that make up the user interface. Adding android application code to the form and the objects such as buttons and text boxes on them and adding any required support code in additional modular.

2. Airport Classification
Letters and numerical codes and descriptors have been adopted
to classify airports.
For design purposes, airports are classified based on the aircraft
they accommodate. (Critical Aircraft)
Two classification agencies
1. FAA Classification (Federal Aviation Administration)
2. ICAO Classification (International Civil Aviation
Organization)
3. FAA Classification
Approach speed is the speed at which an aircraft travels while it is on the final
straight to land on a runway.
Most aircraft are generally certified for approach speeds that are within 30% of
the speed at which the wings no longer generate lift (Stall Speed)
5. FAA Classification
As an example, an aircraft designed to accommodate the Boeing 767-200
which has an approach speed of 130 kn and a wing span of 156ft.
23. Runway Length Correction Example
Compute the airport reference temperature if the monthly mean of
average daily temperature of the hottest month is 27.3 ºC and
monthly mean of maximum daily temperature for the same month
is 43.2 ºC.
24. Work Example
If the airport is located at mean sea level (MSL), and the airport
reference temperature is that calculated in Problem 1. Apply
temperature correction to the runway length.
25. Runway Length Correction Example
Compute the corrected length of runway for an airport located at an
elevation of 170m above MSL if the length of runway under
standard conditions is 2100m. The airport reference temperature is
32.6º C and the runway has to be provided with an effective
gradient of 0.23 percent.
28. “Failures are the part of life. If you don’t fail,
you don’t learn. If you don’t learn you’ll
never change”
Editor's Notes
Critical aircraft is that aircraft based on which airport is designed.
Kn stands for nautical miles
1 Kn = 1.85km
Kn stands for nautical miles
Each aircraft has its own manual which contains all the details of aircraft.
Basic runway length= Length required by an aircraft under basic condition
Critical aircraft (Design aaircraft) is that aircraft basing on which all the dimensions of airport are made. E.g runway length, taxiway width, apron area, hanger area etc
