Introduction
 Apart from Technical knowledge and skills, to be
successful as professionals,
 Students should have excellent soft skills, leadership
qualities and team spirit,
 Students should have entrepreneurial capabilities and
societal commitment.
 To match these multifarious requirement, AICTE has
created a unique mechanism of awarding Activity Points
for Admission 2018-19: regular 2019-20 lateral onwards

Introduction – Contd..
 The activities can be spread over years any time during the
semester weekends and holidays Activity Points(non-
credit) have no effect on SGPA/CGPA.
 In case students fail to earn the prescribed Activity Points ,
Eighth semester Grade card & award of degree shall be
issued only after earning the required Activity Points

1. Helping local schools to achieve good result and enhance
their enrolment in Higher/Technical /Vocational
Education(PO6)
Location: Rural & Urban areas. Examples:
 First & foremost to Motivate the students to attend the
regular classes ( Specially in Govt. Schools)
 They can visit the schools and teach maths, experimental
learning or project based learning.
 As an engineering student they can make interactive classes
for govt. schools.
 To providing the proper guidance to the students towards the
annual exam, if it require we can take classes & Test.

2. Preparing an actionable business proposal for enhancing the
village Income.(PO7 & PO8)
Location: Rural areas Examples:
 Technology awareness to farmers which is useful for selection of
crop or selection of fertilizers. Prime minister skill development
yojana (
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana| National Portal of India) can
be executed in villages in carpentry , electronics repair, handicrafts ,
poultry farming etc.
 To help the farmers to sell their products(Like, vegetables) directly
without involvement of third party and profit them.
 To help the farmers how to use the different application(APP)
Double their income.

3. Developing Sustainable Water Management System.(PO3
& PO7)
Location: Rural & Urban areas. Examples:
 With respect to farmer, students can help them to how to
use the minimal water and grow the crops.
 With respect to the Urban areas, student can help them to
stop the leakage water, doing so we can save the water.
 Reduction usage of Flush tanks.

Location: Heritage cities/villages, Examples:
 Students can Provide the tourism attractions to prospective visitors.

As an engineering student , they can give technology awareness to farmers which is useful to understand the resource available in the nearby rural area. Then prepare the suitable proposal so that many issues still plague the
villages such as poverty, water scarcity, malnourishment, lack of basic facilities, illiteracy, unemployment, anti-social elements etc in their area.
Students should be properly guided in turns they will help rural peoples to come out of their poverty.

Location: Rural & Urban areas, Examples:
 Students should bring awareness to the local small
entrepreneur regarding digitized money transaction.
 Bring awareness to pay taxes which in turn helps in
development of our nation.

and explain them the benefits behind doing so.

 Woman awareness program and try to identify their weakness and strongest of their area and should prepare a proposal in such a way that it should support their strength and try to eradicate the weakness in them

Smart Lighting IDEAS - Examples
 Motion sensors in critical areas can signal the automation
system to switch off lights when a room has been vacant for
some time.
 If the natural light in the room is less than 50%, lights adjust
to 50%. If natural light is less than 40%, lights increase to
60%, and so on. This helps for when the shades are drawn,
or on a cloudy day in the middle of summer.

distributed audio zones accessed through your smartphone,

14. Spreading Public awareness under rural outreach
programmes.(PO6)
Location: villages. Examples:
 Adaptive and Inclusive Education and Disability
Management
programmes to build awareness among public, parents and
children. A variety of approaches are used to spread
awareness, such as conducting seminars, organizing unified
play festivals, facilitating awareness-building visits from
students of nearby schools and colleges, etc.
 Building awareness about Inclusive & Adapted Physical
Education
Seminars and Orientation Programs like Yoga, drug awareness
etc. to the rural people.

15. Contribution to any national level initiative of
Government of India. For e.g Digital India/ Skill India/ Swatch
Bharath internship etc.(PO7)
Location: Rural & Urban areas. Examples:
 Internship with Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR).
 Internship with NITI Aayog (National Institution for
Transforming India).
 Internship with Ministry of Women and Child Development
 Swachh Bharat Summer Internship.
 National Productivity Council Internship.
 Internship with National Museum, Ministry of Culture.

Conclusion
 Each Activity Minimum Duration 2 weeks/80-90 hrs and
Maximum Points per Activity: 20
 The student will be provided a certificate after Evaluation
from the NSS/ Red Youth cross coordinators/ Chairperson-
CICC(College Internal complaints committee)/SAGY(Sansad
Adarsh Gram Yojana, Govt. of India) of the Institute/Mentor
 The consolidated report of activity points earned by the
students shall be sent to the University.
 The points students have earned will be reflected on the
student’s transcript without affecting on SPI/CPI/CGPA
.
