 Population increase and pollution call for sustainable and renewable electricity generation.
 India aims to build 140 gigawatts (GW) of wind capacity by 2030, which could power about 100 million
homes – part of its wider goal to install 500 GW of renewables by the decade’s end.
 Wind energy has become a crucial source of renewable power.
 To optimize wind energy utilization, there’s a need for innovative structures and concepts.
Aeroleaf tree
An Aeroleaf tree is a vertical wind turbine that is
designed to look like a tree. It is made up of a series
of modular “leaves” that are mounted on a steel
frame. The leaves rotate in the wind, generating
electricity. The Aeroleaf tree can be used to
generate electricity in a variety of locations,
including urban areas, rural areas, and on rooftops.
Characteristics of AeroLeaf Tree
Previous Implementation
 The AeroLeaf tree was developed by New Wind in response to the growing demand for renewable
energy solutions. The company was founded in 2011 by a team of engineers and entrepreneurs who
wanted to create a wind turbine that was more efficient, quieter, and more aesthetically pleasing
than traditional turbines.
 The AeroLeaf tree is more efficient than traditional wind turbines at low wind speeds, making it
suitable for use in urban areas and other locations where wind speeds are variable. It is also quieter
and more aesthetically pleasing than traditional turbines.
 The AeroLeaf tree is still a relatively new technology, but it has the potential to play a significant
role in the future of renewable energy. It is particularly well- suited for use in urban areas and other
locations where wind speeds are variable.
 The AeroLeaf tree can generate up to 3.1 kW of power, which is enough to power a small household.
It is also possible to connect multiple AeroLeaf trees together to create a larger wind farm.
APPLICATIONS
 1. This project idea is very simple, where it focuses on utilizing the wind energy by designing and
manufacturing and attach them to a manufactured tree.
 2. This tree can be installed across the public facilities such as public parks, in the top of the stadiums
where wind is very high and around the stadiums, buildings and over the places where there is high
flow of wind
 3. It can also be installed at sides of the roadways and highways
Technicalities
 In wind tree concept the vertical axis wind turbines are used for power generation in which
the multiple micro wind turbines are coupled in a single tree and this is because of reduced
size of rotor blades.
 So they can be easily operated due to the impact of forced air.
 Each turbine is connected to a single generator and by the help of the generator power is
generated and energy is stored with the help of battery.
COMPONENT PARTS
3D PRINTING OF AEROLEAFS
 It allows for the creation of complex and
customized designs. This is because 3D printing
can be used to create shapes and patterns that
would be difficult or impossible to create with
traditional manufacturing methods.
 Another benefit of 3D printing AeroLeaf wind
energy systems is that it can help to reduce the
cost of production. This is because 3D printing
can be used to produce small batches of
systems. This eliminates the need for large and
expensive manufacturing facilities.

  • 26. Advantages of Aeroleaf wind energy system over traditional Renewable Energy sources  More efficient: Aeroleaf wind turbines can convert up to 50% of the wind’s energy into electricity, while solar panels can only convert up to 20% of the sun’s energy into electricity.  More predictable: Wind energy is more predictable than solar energy, as it is not affected by cloud cover or night time. This makes them a more reliable source of renewable energy.  More compact: Aeroleaf wind turbines are much smaller and more compact than traditional wind turbines, making them more suitable for urban and suburban areas.  Quieter: Aeroleaf wind turbines are also much quieter than traditional wind turbines.  Versatile. Aeroleaf turbines can be installed in a variety of locations, including urban areas and rooftops. This makes them ideal for generating electricity in places where it would be difficult or impossible to install larger wind turbines.
