Welfare To Work Reform Essay
Societies for years have preached the theory of individual responsibility as the righteous route for it
citizens to pursuit. The worth of a society is often based on the monetary network of individuals.
Moreover, in the United States this is the norm to focus on individual responsibility. However, every
society is faced with the conflict of poverty that requires some type of social welfare policy. Poverty is
not a stranger to the United States and therefore it created program such as welfare to assist the poor.
The welfare system has evolved over the years sometime for the good and others for the bad. In 1996,
President Bill Clinton signed the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act.
This law changes the way ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, the states were allowed to design their own program. Some states felt that education was a
better use of fund while other concentrated on job training. The federal government set the basic
policy for the organization (welfare to work) program however, states incorporated their own
structure. Welfare to work reform tends to operate on a developmental concept. In the program parent
are provided services such as child care, food nutrition programs (Dolgoff, R., Feldstein, 2009, p.141).
When viewing the assistance offer by welfare to work program seem to be selective in natural.
Recipients included in selective program normally receive services based on their needs such as food
and housing (Dolgoff, R., Feldstein, 2009, p.142).
Services such as daycare services. When examining the source of benefits for welfare to work
recipients, it tends to be a mixture of monetary, services and utilities. Recipients often qualify to
receive housing such as section eight in Alabama. They are given welfare check and receive assistance
on power bills and water. In other words, they are assisted in the basic need for living.
The service is generally provided by public sector such as the federal government, which in turn is
dispersed to state government. In some state services are contracted out to private for profit
organizations. The service are administered at

Artemisia as a Feminist
Nanette Salomon, a very well known feminist writer, wrote the article, Judging Artemisia: A Baroque
Woman in Modern Art History. The article opens up with a discussion about the 2001 2 exhibition of
Orazio and Artemisia Gentileschi: Father and Daughter Painters in Baroque Italy. The author explains
that three things are unusual here: the fact that two famous artists were presented at the same time, that
they were related as father and daughter, and the fact that the woman was better known than the man.
Her intent in this article is to look at the effects of this trope (figure of speech) in the past and in the
present.
Salomon argues that this comparison technique has been the main feature or art historical analysis. It
puts a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author also talks about the story of Susanna and the Elders. Apparently Artemisia Gentileschi
painted three versions of this biblical story at three different stages in her life, 1610, 1622, and 1649.
The author did a comparison on the three Susanna paintings and she argues that it is noticeable that
the abstracting qualities of the 1610 painting change its concept or meaning from one form of story
telling to another. She argues that the abstract form of story telling serves the purpose of finding a
visual equivalent to the deafening silence . She explains that the 1622 Susanna and the Elders speaks a
different language, and so does the 1649 version.
Nanette Salomon emphasizes that there are different ways to make sense of the changes in Artemisia s
three Susannas . One explanation may be that Artemisia s work show progressive naturalism or
realism which can be attributed to her development as an artist.
Judging Artemisia Gentileschi is a practice that is believed to have begun at the same time as aesthetic
judgment, back in the time of Vasari in the late sixteenth century.
To me, those are the main points of the article by Nanette Salomon. I think that she made a very good
historical and psychological approach on the subject. The strength of this article is that she provides a
lot of historical facts, and blends it together with her words and opinion.

Kingston s Speech In No Name Woman
It is not uncommon for individuals to follow the crowd and do something just because it is popular,
especially if it is a group of people who are close the individual. Often the ideals of the group do not
align with the individual s principles but he or she is too timid to voice their unpopular opinion. This
scenario is present during Kingston s childhood. Kingston does not agree with her family s treatment
of her aunt, however, Kingston abides by her family s rules of not speaking or acknowledging the aunt
s existence. In No Name Woman Kingston takes her readers through her own intellectual and
emotional processing of her aunt s story, which lends the story s narrative/rhetorical strength.

Despite Kingston not even knowing her aunt s name, she feels she has a connection to her. Kingston
thinks about her aunt s life and how she became pregnant. At first, Kingston blames the pregnancy on
the aunt. She explains that the aunt took time when getting ready and cared about her appearance,
which was unusual for Chinese women after they have been married. Kingston describes, Once my
aunt found a freckle on her chin... She dug it out with a hot needle and washed the wound with
peroxide (Kingston 328). This leads Kingston to believe that the aunt had an affair. However,
Kingston later believes that her aunt was possibly raped. When describing her aunt s marriage
Kingston writes, When the family found a young man in the next village to be her husband, she stood
tractable beside the best rooster, his proxy, and promised before they met that she would his forever
(Kingston 326). Chinese women were obedient. Kingston thinks that there could not be the possibility
that her aunt cheated on her husband because she was a dutiful wife. Sympathizing with the aunt,
Kingston writes, I want her fear to have lasted as long as rape lasted so that the fear could have been
contained (Kingston 326). She reflects on how horrible it must have been living in such a small
community with her rapist.
As an adult, Kingston no longer stays silent about the mistreatment of her aunt. Kingston reveals, My
aunt haunts me her ghost drawn to me because now, after fifty years of neglect,

Newton s Law Of Motion
The research question I have selected is How do the laws of motion apply to automobiles? I choose
this topic because there is plenty of concepts used in physics that can be applied to the topic that I
chose. Also this question targets an everyday object and is a real life example of how physics applied
to the world and my life. One concept that can be applied to this question are Newton s Laws of
Motion. Newton s first law is called the Law of Inertia. This states that an object in motion will stay in
motion and an object at rest will stay at rest unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. For example,
the automobile will continue moving at the same rate if unbalanced forces like friction and air
resistance were not present. If there is an opposing force like another car that comes into contact with
the vehicle and causes a collision, the car will change in motion and speed. The second concept that
can be applied is Newton s second law of motion. Newton s second law of motion is force is equal to
mass times acceleration. If there is a greater mass, then there has to be more force to accelerate the
object. For example, an automobile has to have the required force act on it to move and accelerate. If
it does not have the required force to move, then there will be no motion in the car and therefore no
acceleration, it will stay at rest. The formula to calculate force is F=ma. The product of the mass and
acceleration of the object is force. The mass and acceleration can also be

The Biblical Interpretation Of Exodus And Song Of...
After Reformation period, the allegorical biblical interpretation was criticized and rejected by
contemporary biblical interpretation theory, and a lot of Christian evangelical churches. However, as a
long tradition stems from the early church, allegorical interpretation has never been disappeared; on
the contrary, it was one the most important exegesis tradition in the history of Chinese Protestant
Church. Many fundamentalist theologians and church leaders were influenced by it, while Jia Yuming
is one of the representative figures. This paper attempts to explain the characteristic of Jia Yuming` s
allegorical biblical interpretation, and to explore the contribution of his exegesis in Chinese Christian
theology. Jia Yuming`s allegorical interpretation was influenced by several theological schools. He
graduated from Presbyterian seminary, and had reformed theology background, then he influenced by
pietistic theology and Charismatic movement, and then turned to allegorical exegesis. In this paper,
we will use Jia Yuming` s interpretation of Exodus and Song of Solomon as an example to analyze its
characteristics. Exodus had a lot of narrative and laws, and was allegorical explained by Jia Yuming.
Song of Solomon is the most difficult book to interpret and often be interpreted as an allegory.

Talia Pocket Watch
Talia open and closed the pocket watch. Opened, close, reopened, closed. The metal had grown warm
in her hands, and the clicking sound it made made had started to dull. The pastor continued to drone
on about her father. What a good man he was, and what a great loss it was to their community. She
smiled bitterly. Not many people had actually liked him. One could only describe her father as
guarded. She pulled the sleeves on her sweater back over her wrists and tried to tune in for a bit. She
eventually gave up and went back to opening and closing the pocket watch. It seemed that no one else
could hear it snapping shut. She shook her head. It wasn t like they were actually mourning, after

close to someone wasn t something that came easy to their father and therefore it didn t come easy to
them. They were learning, and they all did it together. That was what was important. Being together
through everything. She looked at the pocket watch again. Other than her and Aaron the watch had
been one of his only focuses. It wasn t really the watch just what it said. Time. He micromanaged
everything he could. Timed everything and normally kept to a strict schedule. The talking stopped and
Talia looked up. Everything was silent and no one had stuck around longer than they had to. Just like
her dad s office building. She stood up shakily and walked outside. Bright sunlight flashed in her eyes
and she squinted to see through it. It almost made her want to laugh. Even the weather didn t care that
her father had died. It almost seemed brighter, in fact. She continued fiddling with the pocket watch

The Smallest Dragonboy Essay
Everyone knows that one cannot succeed at everything in life. But for one to not be good enough at a
major one has to try it out first. At some point everyone has tried a new hobby as for an example
dance and then been either told that one was not good enough or simply one found out by them selves.
Either way it is insulting and disappointing to be told that the way you are build is no good for the one
thing you love to do. But would we not be living in a boring world if everyone were the same? Our
difference defines us as an individual person our one person. Some of us are tall and some of us are
tiny. But no matter what should everyone be treated with respect even if they are different from others.

The Atmosphere Built Up By Jonny Greenwood
There Will Be Blood takes place in the early 1900 s, where prospector Daniel Plainview sets out on a
journey to claim his fortune though oil drilling. The longing for riches, and the slow accent into
madness are the key components in what makes the film and it s character so enticing. The atmosphere
built up by Daniel is completed by the unique orchestral sounds; feelings of woe, suspense, fear, and
uncertain conclusions are skillfully captured. The pace of the film, the various scores, and a deeply
driven character all sum up to a masterfully skilled piece of work. Scored by Jonny Greenwood, lead
guitarist from the band RadioHead, uses his skills as a composer to deliver a unique sound that pairs
well with the film. Described as RadioHead s jack of all trades, Greenwood is skilled in plying not
only the guitar, but also the xylophone, sampler, keyboards and the ondes Marenot, the instrument
used in the film (Bekkala). Showing his master in rock; his interest span to other genres including
classical. His inspirations come from Messiaen and Ligeti, two paramount 20th century composers
skilled in serialism and postmodernism respectively. Their influences are clearly shown in Greenwood
s There Will Be Blood scores. Another composer, Penderecki,a modern skilled composer and
conductor also shows in Greenwood s work. I love hearing Penderecki played by live orchestras there
s noting like it... But Messiane was my first connection to classical music (Woolfrey). In an interview

Frankenstein Essay
Mr. Pomakov
ENG 2D1 03
October 26th, 2015 In the book Frankenstein by Mary Shelly, we discover that the search for now
knowledge has a good and a bad side. Suffering is something we all go through at some point. We try
to avoid it but our search for knowledge will always lead to suffering. In Frankenstein Victor had set
out on a search for knowledge, he was relentless. His search consumed all his time, destroyed
relationships, and lead to the death of not only himself but his friends and family. All of those negative
effects originated from the monster Victor had created on his search for knowledge. Although Victor
may have achieved his end goal, at what cost did this come to? Victor s search ... Show more content

The monster is the product of Victor s search for knowledge, and the same thing that cause all the
havoc in the story. One of the largest examples of Victor s suffering was how fear and anger had
consumed him. All the monster has brought upon the world is destruction and fear; these are all due to
Victor s relentless search for knowledge. This daemon surpasses the body limits humans have in
almost every aspect and thus constitutes everything Victor had hoped to achieve with his alchemical
knowledge. (Kokotz 14) the author of this essay refers to the monster as daemon , the quote talks
about how Victor wished this upon the monster. He wished to create a being that could bypass the
limits humans are bound by. This quote shows significance because all these traits the

Family Unit Research Paper
In today s world people use many words to describe different situations; some words are lovely, and
some are horrifying. The thing about this world s vocabulary, is that we choose which words best
describe each situation and we are fully aware of the definitions behind them. In the Community
people use their words with great precision, making sure not to confuse anyone or cause any feelings
that might be bad. All citizens of the Community use the words that they are told to use without
realizing that sometimes there are deep dark secrets behind what they are saying. Assignment,
Elsewhere, and Family Unit are everyday words to the Community, but what they do not understand is
the restriction behind them. The word Assignment is used to describe the occupation that each child is
designated during the Ceremony of Twelve. The citizens do not get to choose how they want to spend
their days, and they do not care because that is the way it has always been. The Committee of Elders

The Importance of Property Accountability
According to Dictionary.com, the word responsibility means the state or fact of being answerable or
accountable.
Responsibility is related to the roles of the particular individuals and groups. Role is defined as an
expected behavior in a given individual social status and social position. For one person, he will have
different responsibilities when he is at different roles. For example, someone should take the
responsibility as a father when he is in a family. He should be responsible as being an employee when
he is working in a company.

Gen. Mitchell H. Stevenson, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army for Logistics, G 4
If soldiers weren t held accountable for property that they were issued, no one would have anything.
All soldiers are issued gear which they will need either down range or in the rear. Thus they need to
know where their equipment is. So they can use this equipment when they go to a range to qualify, or
rucking over ten miles. Little things such as canteens, PT belts, or even gloves can help so much when
that soldier needs it. But when it comes down to sensitive items, soldiers are liable for them especially
when it can mean life or death.
Property accountability comes down to one simple fact, if it s gone, you re screwed. Until you can find
it, you can t just stand around and wait for it to show up again. Soldiers who lose items will have to
eventually pay up to the Army. They even face the fact they will lose money for something that could
they should ve been able to prevent from being lost in the first place. Soldiers cannot afford to lose
property, especially soldiers who are brand new to a unit or just coming out of basic training and
advance individual training. When these new soldiers lose such items, they will be held accountable
and they will be branded as someone who doesn t keep track of what they re doing. Plus they just
started their own career, even if they don t plan on staying in the Army.

Persuasive Essay About Shrek
Shrek, the movie, should be chosen as the best movie of the year for many reasons, some of which
include the characters clear depth and emotions, the original character designs, and the family friendly
jokes allowed the movie to be accepted as a masterpiece by the public. Sixteen years later, the movie
scores solidly at a 7.9 out of ten on IMDb. The movie cost an estimated sixty million dollars to create
and the fact that aged well, with the movie still looking well to this day, makes it great. (IMDb). The
family friendly jokes still can make children laugh, and adults can find a few jokes hidden in the
movie that the kids don t understand. The movie is a wonderful tale about an ogre finding more about
himself on a quest to save the beloved princess, who finds her knight atop a donkey. The movie starts
out with the best introduction to the character, with the song All Star by Smash Mouth. The song
alone, right at the beginning, sets up the adventure the carefree ogre is about to embark on.
Additionally, it reflects how Shrek feels about himself. Shrek is stuck up and only cares for himself,
shown prominently in the movie when he talks to others. It was said by himself, that he went on the
perilous quest to save Fiona solely to get his swamp back. Shrek is a character that is far outside the
normality of many main characters in other movies (Emotional depth 3). In that time, many characters
in animated films were the same cliche, always nice. Shrek is the opposite in

improves upon stamina. This increases the fitness levels and keeps various diseases and health
conditions in check.
It Builds Self Esteem
Students who are active in physical activities like basketball, volleyball, martial arts and running just
to name a few are more confident with themselves according to most social school studies. It s
probably because of the self discipline and dedication to excel in a sport that brings out the best in

Relationship Between Grey And Cameron
The relationship between Grey and Cameron deteriorated rapidly throughout the Waikato Wars. Grey
was constantly searching for one determining knockout blow to defeat Maori forces, while Cameron
was a realist who realised that attacking the Maori Pa head on was suicidal. This difference in opinion
led to the two men arguing constantly which had a profound impact on the war.
The Waikato Wars (1863 1864) were a component of the New Zealand Wars which were active from
1845 to 1872. The wars have also commonly been known as the Maori Wars or the Land Wars .
During these wars there was a huge divide in society. Many people debate whether these wars were
over land or sovereignty. The New Zealand wars were a series of individual battles between the higher
government and various Maori tribes.
The Wars were caused by a miss understanding of ownership between Maori and Pakeha. When the
British settlers came to New Zealand they thought that the Maori were utilising the land like they
should. The settlers wanted to buy the land off the Maori but they refused. But of course, they all had
different views. Maori pass on land from generations and inherit it from their ancestors, whereas
Pakeha can just trade the land more money.
Grey and Cameron s relationship deteriorated hugely during the Invasion of the Waikato. Sir George
Grey (born 1812) made a huge impact on New Zealand during the Waikato Wars. He played a lead
role in the wars between 1863 and 1864.

There are two different types of thermal energy used, passive and active form. Passive solar heating
does not require any equipments because the heat because it enters the building independently. On the
other hand, active solar heating needs a medium to absorb and store solar radiation. One example of
an active solar heating is energy storage system. Other than that, solar thermal power plant indirectly
produces electric power when heat of the solar collected is used to heat a fluid; this method could
transfer a system to produce steam. Solar thermal energy works almost the same as creating energy
but actually it is by converting energy using the sun s radiation.
Besides passive and active benefits of using solar energy, it also has less damage and fewer side
effects to the environment since it does not produce any pollution. However, there are costs in terms of
producing solar cells. Many scientists aware of the negative impacts that photovoltaic cells production
has, it is because toxic metal such as mercury, lead, and cadmium are used during the process of
manufacturing solar cell. It definitely increases the issue of global warming. However we all know
that all good things must have a trade off, where in this case the amount of good that we receive is
more than the cost that we produce. Thus it is a good thing for the society.

doing so over selling the shares directly. First, the insiders would not need to sell their stocks at a
discount to fundamental value when his or her selling un balance the normal market demand and
supply. Second, insiders can avoid being linked with insider trading accusations and sending negative
signal to the market. Third, some of them may actually want to hold onto the firms stocks in their
personal portfolio but want to also diversify. In summary, share pledge loans provide more
opportunities for corporate insiders to hedge their exposures to firm specific risk.

There is a long list of papers in the literature focusing on the relationship between managers ability to

Why Batteries Are Very Important
Batteries, The Science Behind Them, and Their Importance Batteries are extremely important. But
most people don t know the science behind it or how imperative they really are. Today, I will tell you
about this, the items they power, they re importance, and how they really work. A battery is a device
that stores electrical energy in the form of chemical energy. When it comes to the use of batteries, they
are imperative to most people s lives. They re used for practically everything like flashlights, watches,
calculators, phones, laptops, and power tools. Bigger things include cars, trucks, buses, lawn mowers,
wheel chairs, forklifts, trains, and satellites. So they re very important and even more important when
you consider that they power smoke and carbon dioxide detectors. As said before, society is heavily
impacted by batteries. Without them, everything would always need to be plugged in, or need to be
charged. There d be lots of outlets and plugs without batteries. But how many important everyday
items do we use that run on batteries? Well, there would be no such thing as wrist watches or
flashlights or anything portable that runs on electricity. Batteries make everything so convenient, we
forget about them. Switching on the TV, texting on your mobile while walking around, or taking
pictures would never be so easy if ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A battery has three main parts: it has two terminals made of chemicals, which are called the anode and
the cathode. There s also the electrolyte, which detaches the two terminals. The electrolyte is a
chemical medium. It allows the flow of electrical charge between the cathode and anode and when a
device is connected to a battery the chemical on the anode releases electrons to the negative terminal.
This is called an oxidation reaction. While this is happening, at the positive terminal the cathode
accepts electrons. This completes the circuit for the flow of

Functionalism In The Basketball Game
I would like to start by saying the basketball game was great. That was the first game I attended while
here on exchange. Each of the theoretical perspectives were present in the game, and I was absolutely
amazed to see how theory applies to our everyday lives. Functionalism was present because all of the
players were interdependent on one another in order for the game to run smoothly and for them to win.
They were each assigned a roll that required them to work as team. When one player messed up or did
not fulfill his or her role well another player had to step up and adjust to keep the game going smooth.
Before the game the coach tells the players the rules for the game. They players must put any personal
issues to the side, which is them giving up free will with the expectation that if they perform well it
will lead to better things after ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, the winning team ( VUU) used different techniques to sustain their needs and to remain as
the dominant team in the game. For example, every time VSU got ahead or attempted to get ahead #14
on the girl s team would use her elbows and her weight to prevent us from catching up or passing their
team. In this game the players are considered the producers and the coaches would be the people in
control of the mode of production. The coaches pick the players based on their ability to produce on
the court. There is a shift in the modes of production when the coach finds somebody that is more
qualified for the position and find a player with a different position that can help the team win. When
the losing team realizes that they are staying down for too long they start to question, observe, and
become aware of the techniques the other team uses, then they plan in a way that is intended to help
them over throw the other

United States[edit]
Main articles: Nuclear weapons and the United States and United States and weapons of mass

The United States developed the first atomic weapons, during World War II in cooperation with the
United Kingdom and Canada as part of the Manhattan Project, out of the fear that Nazi Germany
would develop them first. It tested the first nuclear weapon in 1945 ( Trinity ), and remains the only
country to have used nuclear weapons against an enemy state in warfare, devastating the Japanese
cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It was the first nation to develop the hydrogen bomb, testing an
experimental prototype in 1952 ( Ivy Mike ) and a deployable weapon in 1954 ( Castle Bravo ).
Throughout the Cold War it continued to modernize and enlarge its nuclear arsenal, but from 1992 on

A dream. A world where ideas run wild and imagination is the primary mode of thought. Reality is a
faraway distance. Eventually, the dream comes to an end as reality creeps into sleep and the fantasy
finishes. The story of Jane Austen s Emma is one of a similar account. Emma Woodhouse, the main
character, has an active imagination that causes her to loose sight of reality like getting lost in
dreaming. Her imagination and disposition to think a little too well of herself causes Emma to be
emotionally arrogant and skews her perception of other characters (Austen, 1). Throughout the novel,

her popularity to influence the decision. [T]hough Emma continued to protest against any assistance
being wanted [from Harriet], it was in fact given in the formation of every sentence (34). Caught up in
her self appointed role as cupid, Emma ignores the possibility that Harriet and Mr. Martin could ever

attempt to produce a match between Harriet and Mr. Elton. He warns Emma about the unlikelihood of
Mr. Elton reducing himself to Harriet s inferior position through marriage. While his warning causes
Emma to momentarily doubt herself, she quickly erases these thoughts with a satisfaction which
settled her with her own mind, and convinced her... she had done nothing which woman s friendship
and woman s feelings would not justify (43). Evidently, Emma is easily able to dismiss Mr. Knightley
s rational suggestions, satisfied with her own more amusing ideas. She remains confident in her own
imaginative schemes, letting that govern her conduct. As the novel progresses and Mr. Elton reveals
Emma as the true object of his affection, Emma s prediction and meddling proves to be a failure. In

Statement Of Purpose To Become A Member Of The National...
The National Honor Society is an excellent program, so I believe that becoming a member could
create a symbiotic relationship. Being a member of the National Honor Society could encourage my
academic achievement and give me opportunities to teach, which in turn will fine tune my
understanding on the subject as well. I have multiple experiences with tutoring, as I am currently
tutoring three kids and used to tutor an international student in English. I believe firmly in helping
others through tutoring; I love teaching to instill curiosity and ambition in the minds of others.
Community service and tutoring are a win win outcome in my opinion since the student starts to
comprehend the subject that they are struggling in while the tutor builds mastery of the subject, feels a
sense of accomplishment, and genuinely feels better for doing the right thing. In terms of character, I
grew up with exceptionally supportive parents and an icon of a sister. My parents want the best for
me, so they don t hesitate to be strict in order to give me the character of a fine young lady. I will
always be indebted to my parents because they sacrificed so much for me. Looking back on all the

Constitution: it has given us freedom, prosperity, and a high standard of living. Being an important

constitution is whether it is a living or dead document. A living document is a document that is

Eleanor Roosevelt A humanitarian and skilled diplomat one hero rises to reshape what it means to be a
woman, a mother, a wife, and a First Lady, to the world. Being a hero doesn t require acts of

woman, wasn t just confined to domestic chores and household work. During a time of segregation

Eleanor Roosevelt was born into a wealthy and powerful family, since her uncle was the 26th

The key ideas of my appropriation for Macbeth would include power and ambition. This would
communicate the key ideas of shakespeare to the audience as many of his plays would consist of
tragedy and frequent death as the cost for something positive that would happen in this case it would
be that Macbeth sought out careless power without looking onto the consequences that would ensue

How Gender Comes Into Play
In my previous paper I was very interested in how gender comes into play when it comes to how
people balance paid work and family time. This was really interesting to me because as a daughter I
was really interested to see if any of the themes that I saw reminded of when I was young. Even more
than that, however, I was interested to see what might happen to me as I get older, get married, and
start having children. While I am young now, I am very eager to settle down and have a family so I
was very curious at the different themes that I would see when I interviewed a married women, who
was Named Lucy .
The themes that I did see in my research were inequality, a very traditional family dynamic (which I
thought was caused by a gender trap), and family myths. The division of household labor in this
family was very traditional, the mother, who I interviewed, was the one who did most, if not all, of the
household labor along with working a full time job. That led me to believe that they had a very
traditional family dynamic, even though that might not be the true ideology of the women I
interviewed. I picked up on a few things while I was interviewing her that I think led to the traditional
division of labor. I thought that they were very much caught in a gender trap, meaning that they think
that they have to do what is typical for their gender. That meant that the childcare and the housework,
which is seen as more of a feminine, were up to Lucy. The other things that were seen

in England and the English culture could be argued is not one that is particularly an emotional culture
especially within the early 1940 s which is when Anna was born. Anna Wintour s father Charles
Wintour could also be the reason behind Anna s emotionless personality due to the fact that Charles
Wintour was an editor who displayed a tough and stern personality style within the workplace and this

The True Meaning Of Life
People, specifically, individuals want to live on, they want to venture themselves into the future. we
have this will to live on. And nevertheless, unlike any other conscious being, we have to live with the
realization, that this will is going to be frustrated, that this will all end, that we will die. Furthermore,
we have to live with the sense that our lives, our conscience, will no longer exist the worst thing that
could perhaps happen to us, our will. This is the true meaning of what is means to be mortal. So, it is
fully logical to see why some would want to live forever, to become immortal. For instance, on one
side of a spectrum, there is the non human animals, which possess the same will as humans but do not
possess the knowledge of death. This means, that since they are not aware of death, they are then
immortal. Another example, on the other side of the spectrum are the gods or higher beings, which are
immortal, because they are aware of death but they do not die. Right in the middle of the spectrum,
there are humans, possessing both the will to live and the the knowledge of death. Therefore, it is
reasonable, that one would want to live forever, or for an indefinite time. We could benefit from the
thrilling idea that any present day could be our last with the possibility that it may be not. People fear
the simplicity of death and do not like to discuss it, looking at the history of thought, there are people
who have come to terms with this fear. People who spoke

The Structural Family Therapy On The Family
The identified problems in the family are the lack communication, rigid boundaries, and weak
subsystems within the family. The structural family therapy focuses on the interactions with the family
rather than focusing exclusively on the identified person or patient (Nichols, and Tafuri, 2013). In
addition, through utilizing, the structuralism approach, the family will be able to think beyond
symptomatic behaviors and see their choices and process relationships between group members and
other systems (Vetere, 2003). The family will also be able to broaden their understanding of how each
family member contributes to the problem or communication patterns within the family (Nicols et al.,
2013). Furthermore, based on the research structionalism will encourage the family to problem solve
in a safe therapeutic environment (Vetere, 2003). In therapy, the family will be able to express their
feelings and thoughts without judgments or bias from the therapist.
Moreover, for this particular family, the objectives and treatment will focus on boundaries and
subsystems. Boundaries are useful guidance for the assessment of interactions among family
members. (Ryan, p. 133, 1997). When boundaries become clear the family is able to function healthier
between subsystems. Another objective in treatment will be learning conflict resolution skills.

Jacques Louis David Essay
David was the virtual art dictator of France for a generation. Extending beyond painting, his influence
determined the course of fashion, furniture design, and interior decoration and was reflected in the
development of moral philosophy. His art was a sudden and decisive break with tradition, and from
this break modern art is dated.
David studied with Vien, and after winning the Prix de Rome (which had been refused him four times,
causing him to attempt suicide by starvation) he accompanied Vien to Italy in 1775. His pursuit of the
antique, nurtured by his time in Rome, directed the classical revival in French art. He borrowed

During the Restoration David spent his last years in Brussels. As a portraitist he was at his most
distinguished, although he belittled this painting genre. Using living, rather than sculptured models, he
allowed his spontaneous sentiment to be revealed. In these last years his portraits, such as Antoine
Mongez and His Wife Angelica (1812; Lille) and Bernard (1820; Louvre) are enormously vital and in
them the seeds of the new romanticism are clearly discernible.
Jacques Louis David was born into a prosperous middle class family in Paris on August 30, 1748. In
1757 his mother left him to be raised by his uncles after his father was killed.
He was never a good student in school in his own words, I was always hiding behind the instructors
chair, drawing for the duration of the class .
When David was 16 he began studying art at the Acad eacute;mie Royale under the rococo painter J.
M. Vien. After many unsuccessful attempts, he finally won the Prix de Rome in 1774, and on the
ensuing trip to Italy he was strongly influenced by classical art and by the classically inspired work of
the 17th century painter Nicolas Poussin. David quickly evolved his own individual neoclassical style,
drawing subject matter from ancient sources and basing form and gesture on Roman sculpture. His
famous Oath of the Horatii was consciously intended as a proclamation of the new neoclassical style

injustice occurs when the government removes the civil rights of their citizens, they heavily survey
their actions and any thought of rebellion can lead to arrest. The Party the name of the new
government undertakes in these activities to insure they are able to keep their position without being

in a inhumane and uncivil as all the rights of the people are being taken away; in such an unjust and
violent way, which continues to separate the population and cause more uneasiness between the
people as they don t know what will happen. In A Tale of Two Cities the citizens are forced to abide

Article 37 Play it safe with these free spin bonus gambling strategies
Depending on your outlook slot games will either be an open delight or a guilty pleasure, but
whichever way you view them there is no denying that the online realm has made such games more
fun than ever. Part of why slots appeal so much is because of the glamorous and often embellished
stories that go along with the games. We have all heard the tall tales of players going all or nothing on
the slots and winning big, but in reality tall tales is often all that these stories are. If you want to be a
major success at online slots you need to understand that you need more than just luck. You need
knowledge and flexibility to really be successful. Thankfully, when it ... Show more content on

The problem is that some casinos and some games are more ruthless than others when it comes to
such. It all means that you should feel comfortable where you re playing and truly understand what
odds and risks lay in front of you.
While there is no denying the game itself and its features will determine how successful you, there are
several elements within yourself you need to consider before you play. Everyone signs up to an online
casino with a bankroll in mind, this means that you need to set your limits before you start wagering.
The easiest way to control your gambling is to set a loss border and a target winning amount . The loss
border relates to how much you can honestly accept to lose when gambling on the slots, while the
target winning amount relates to the amount of money you d be happy to walk way with. Calculate
both figures based of the odds and payouts of the game in question and do your best to stick within
these boundaries. Looking deeper into the games themselves and how they operate, you shouldn t play
under the premises that you are simply waiting on a payout. Online games don t charge up like the old
land based machines used to. Every spin is completely autonomous, which means is doesn t how
much money you plough into the game, the winning percentage will never change.
When it comes to fun, very little else can outdo the exhilaration and excitement of spinning the slots.
Problem is that for all the fun it presents on the

Downward Social Reflection Theory
The social comparison theory suggests people learn their abilities and flaws by comparing themselves
to other people (Weiten, 2015, pg, 171). We compare ourselves with other who are similar on to our
characteristics or self worth. We compare ourselves to others when there is no influenced by personal
feelings or opinions in considering and representing facts. When I receive an average grade in a class,
I compare myself to a student received an A. This motivates me to look up to that classmate as a
mentor to enhance myself. It is important to have the attitude that you are cable and you can improve
rather than the opposite, I am unable and I can not improve. This method is called the upward social
comparison, which can make us feel worse or they inspire us to do better (Weiten, 2015, pg, 171). I
am guilty of downward social comparison when I receive a bad grade (C) on a test. If the teacher
announced that half the class failed, my mind would be at ease. Downward social comparison can
make us feel better (Weiten, 2015, pg, 171). The reference groups that I compare my academic
performance with is my fellow colleagues. Weiten, W., Dunn, D., Hammer, E. Y. (2018). Psychology
applied to modern life: adjustment in the 21st century. Boston, MA: Cengage Learning. The test
defines a person in two different categories, either your one (A) or the other (B). I believe it
demonstrates how people should be more aware of their personality, especially if it is going

1. Job Chat
1.The first thing a staff member must do in chat is to make sure spammers don t continuously spam
things like spam joining when is on causing the whole chat to be filled up with Welcome back LOL Or
just strait up spamming rude things or anything really.
2.Advertising.
Advertising other servers and spamming ips that aren t vanquish is considered a mute/ban punishment.
My job will be to mute these advertisers and if they continue to advertise, i will post a ban report on

Staff need to be kind to all players and not be like HA HA NOOB but to say OK this is how you sell

Do we really love animals?
The truth behind animal research and testing
Animal research and testing has been a huge controversial topic in the U.S. For many years, lots of
organizations like PETA have created movements to eliminate this completely but without very much
success. Personally, I can t find any positives to animal research and testing but the majority of the
U.S population does since animals are used in most major companies and research projects performed
by doctors. Animal testing should be eliminated altogether. To begin, doctors race to find a cure to
many illnesses that come up with humans. They work long and hard trying to figure out a way to stop
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most people might agree that theses three methods are more humane than others, however, they are
still not entirely a solution. Most animal research labs now a days are very secretive because of the
simple reason that many extremist act out against them in inappropriate ways. There are always cases
where people sneak into these labs and release all the animals and also destroy the property. Even
though I understand the good intentions of the people, it is not the proper way to solve this problem.
Having these labs be more secretive in fact can be worse. The people who control the animal testing
lab will feel that if no one knows that they exist, they can do whatever they want. They are more likely
to mistreat and misuse the animals because they wont have to be worried about abusing the law. All
laboratories, if there should be any, should be highly controlled and regulated. There should be
inspectors coming in and out constantly making sure all the animals are being treated fairly and
properly. It is alarming how many well known companies use these types of animal laboratories just to
make a bigger profit. For example, the companies that test on animals include Vaseline, Johnson amp;
Johnson, Neutrogena, and Cover girl. These are only some companies. There are about thousands of
companies that still test on animals. Animal testing is not necessary to benefit the human society.
There are many cheaper and faster alternative methods that help

Why the People Are Interested in Serial Killers Essays
Serial Killers Serial killers have struck fear in the hearts of people, yet the public remains fascinated
and intrigued by the crimes perpetrated by these individuals. There are several theories and factors that
have been attributed to serial killers in an attempt to explain their behaviors. Furthermore, by
indentifying the behaviors that are exhibited by serial killers, law enforcement professionals are able
to gather information about these serial killers that will assist in the apprehension of the criminal. In
the majority of serial homicides, a motivating factor, in addition to domination and manipulation of a
victim, is the sexual gratification and desire that is experienced by the serial killer. Serial killers

Michael H. Stone in The Anatomy of Evil states that there are several factors that influence a serial
killer s behavior. The factors that may influence behavior are presented in a nature versus nurture
model with occasional factors falling into a category of mixed and/or unknown origins (201). The
factors that Stone considers to pertain to an individual s natural environment include mental illness
that is coupled with psychosis, schizophrenia, manic depression, autism, and Aspergers Syndrome.
Also included in the list of natural factors are mental illnesses without psychosis such as ADD and
ADHD, alcoholism, epilepsy, and an inordinate sexual drive (201). Personality disorders are
considered to be inherent to an individual and are therefore considered to be a part of an individual s
natural environment; personality disorders include being antisocial, psychopathic, schizoid, sadistic,
paranoid, and/or impulsive aggressive (201). Stone identifies nurture factors as parental
physical/sexual/verbal abuse, parental abandonment and/or neglect, the loss of a parent, absence of a
father, separation and/or divorce of the parental unit before the child is 16, and brain disease or
damage (201). The factors that Stone considers to be attributed to mixed or unknown origins include
paraphilia, juvenile delinquency, substance abuse, alcoholism, conduct disorders that are committed in
childhood, animal torture and arson,

The worth of a society is often based on the monetary network of individuals. Moreover, in the United States this is the norm to focus on individual responsibility. However, every society is faced with the conflict of poverty that requires some type of social welfare policy. Poverty is not a stranger to the United States and therefore it created program such as welfare to assist the poor. The welfare system has evolved over the years sometime for the good and others for the bad. In 1996, President Bill Clinton signed the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act. Some states felt that education was a better use of fund while other concentrated on job training. The federal government set the basic policy for the organization (welfare to work) program however, states incorporated their own structure. Welfare to work reform tends to operate on a developmental concept. In the program parent are provided services such as child care, food nutrition programs (Dolgoff, R., Feldstein, 2009, p.141). When viewing the assistance offer by welfare to work program seem to be selective in natural. Recipients included in selective program normally receive services based on their needs such as food and housing (Dolgoff, R., Feldstein, 2009, p.142). Services such as daycare services. When examining the source of benefits for welfare to work recipients, it tends to be a mixture of monetary, services and utilities. • 3. Artemisia as a Feminist Nanette Salomon, a very well known feminist writer, wrote the article, Judging Artemisia: A Baroque Woman in Modern Art History. The article opens up with a discussion about the 2001 2 exhibition of Orazio and Artemisia Gentileschi: Father and Daughter Painters in Baroque Italy. The author explains that three things are unusual here: the fact that two famous artists were presented at the same time, that they were related as father and daughter, and the fact that the woman was better known than the man. Her intent in this article is to look at the effects of this trope (figure of speech) in the past and in the present. Salomon argues that this comparison technique has been the main feature or art historical analysis. It puts a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The author also talks about the story of Susanna and the Elders. Apparently Artemisia Gentileschi painted three versions of this biblical story at three different stages in her life, 1610, 1622, and 1649. The author did a comparison on the three Susanna paintings and she argues that it is noticeable that the abstracting qualities of the 1610 painting change its concept or meaning from one form of story telling to another. She argues that the abstract form of story telling serves the purpose of finding a visual equivalent to the deafening silence . She explains that the 1622 Susanna and the Elders speaks a different language, and so does the 1649 version. Nanette Salomon emphasizes that there are different ways to make sense of the changes in Artemisia s three Susannas . One explanation may be that Artemisia s work show progressive naturalism or realism which can be attributed to her development as an artist. Judging Artemisia Gentileschi is a practice that is believed to have begun at the same time as aesthetic judgment, back in the time of Vasari in the late sixteenth century. To me, those are the main points of the article by Nanette Salomon. I think that she made a very good historical and psychological approach on the subject. The strength of this article is that she provides a lot of historical facts, and blends it together with her words and opinion. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Kingston describes, Once my aunt found a freckle on her chin... She dug it out with a hot needle and washed the wound with peroxide (Kingston 328). This leads Kingston to believe that the aunt had an affair. However, Kingston later believes that her aunt was possibly raped. When describing her aunt s marriage Kingston writes, When the family found a young man in the next village to be her husband, she stood tractable beside the best rooster, his proxy, and promised before they met that she would his forever (Kingston 326). Chinese women were obedient. Kingston thinks that there could not be the possibility that her aunt cheated on her husband because she was a dutiful wife. Sympathizing with the aunt, Kingston writes, I want her fear to have lasted as long as rape lasted so that the fear could have been contained (Kingston 326). She reflects on how horrible it must have been living in such a small community with her rapist. As an adult, Kingston no longer stays silent about the mistreatment of her aunt. • 6. Newton s Law Of Motion The research question I have selected is How do the laws of motion apply to automobiles? I choose this topic because there is plenty of concepts used in physics that can be applied to the topic that I chose. Also this question targets an everyday object and is a real life example of how physics applied to the world and my life. One concept that can be applied to this question are Newton s Laws of Motion. Newton s first law is called the Law of Inertia. This states that an object in motion will stay in motion and an object at rest will stay at rest unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. For example, the automobile will continue moving at the same rate if unbalanced forces like friction and air resistance were not present. If there is an opposing force like another car that comes into contact with the vehicle and causes a collision, the car will change in motion and speed. The second concept that can be applied is Newton s second law of motion. Newton s second law of motion is force is equal to mass times acceleration. If there is a greater mass, then there has to be more force to accelerate the object. For example, an automobile has to have the required force act on it to move and accelerate. If it does not have the required force to move, then there will be no motion in the car and therefore no acceleration, it will stay at rest. The formula to calculate force is F=ma. The product of the mass and acceleration of the object is force. The mass and acceleration can also be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He graduated from Presbyterian seminary, and had reformed theology background, then he influenced by pietistic theology and Charismatic movement, and then turned to allegorical exegesis. In this paper, we will use Jia Yuming` s interpretation of Exodus and Song of Solomon as an example to analyze its characteristics. Exodus had a lot of narrative and laws, and was allegorical explained by Jia Yuming. Song of Solomon is the most difficult book to interpret and often be interpreted as an allegory. 1. Eventually, the dream comes to an end as reality creeps into sleep and the fantasy finishes. The story of Jane Austen s Emma is one of a similar account. Emma Woodhouse, the main character, has an active imagination that causes her to loose sight of reality like getting lost in dreaming. Her imagination and disposition to think a little too well of herself causes Emma to be emotionally arrogant and skews her perception of other characters (Austen, 1). Caught up in her self appointed role as cupid, Emma ignores the possibility that Harriet and Mr. Martin could ever live happily together. Upon hearing of Harriet s rejection to Mr. Martin, Knightley suspects Emma s attempt to produce a match between Harriet and Mr. Elton. He warns Emma about the unlikelihood of Mr. Elton reducing himself to Harriet s inferior position through marriage. While his warning causes Emma to momentarily doubt herself, she quickly erases these thoughts with a satisfaction which settled her with her own mind, and convinced her... she had done nothing which woman s friendship and woman s feelings would not justify (43). Evidently, Emma is easily able to dismiss Mr. Knightley s rational suggestions, satisfied with her own more amusing ideas. She remains confident in her own imaginative schemes, letting that govern her conduct. As the novel progresses and Mr. Elton reveals Emma as the true object of his affection, Emma s prediction and meddling proves to be a failure. In reflecting on her behavior, Emma notes, ... I have multiple experiences with tutoring, as I am currently tutoring three kids and used to tutor an international student in English. I believe firmly in helping others through tutoring; I love teaching to instill curiosity and ambition in the minds of others. Community service and tutoring are a win win outcome in my opinion since the student starts to comprehend the subject that they are struggling in while the tutor builds mastery of the subject, feels a sense of accomplishment, and genuinely feels better for doing the right thing. This was really interesting to me because as a daughter I was really interested to see if any of the themes that I saw reminded of when I was young. Even more than that, however, I was interested to see what might happen to me as I get older, get married, and start having children. While I am young now, I am very eager to settle down and have a family so I was very curious at the different themes that I would see when I interviewed a married women, who was Named Lucy . The themes that I did see in my research were inequality, a very traditional family dynamic (which I thought was caused by a gender trap), and family myths. The division of household labor in this family was very traditional, the mother, who I interviewed, was the one who did most, if not all, of the household labor along with working a full time job. That led me to believe that they had a very traditional family dynamic, even though that might not be the true ideology of the women I interviewed. I picked up on a few things while I was interviewing her that I think led to the traditional division of labor. I thought that they were very much caught in a gender trap, meaning that they think that they have to do what is typical for their gender. That meant that the childcare and the housework, which is seen as more of a feminine, were up to Lucy. The other things that were seen ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

And nevertheless, unlike any other conscious being, we have to live with the realization, that this will is going to be frustrated, that this will all end, that we will die. Furthermore, we have to live with the sense that our lives, our conscience, will no longer exist the worst thing that could perhaps happen to us, our will. This is the true meaning of what is means to be mortal. So, it is fully logical to see why some would want to live forever, to become immortal. For instance, on one side of a spectrum, there is the non human animals, which possess the same will as humans but do not possess the knowledge of death. This means, that since they are not aware of death, they are then immortal. Another example, on the other side of the spectrum are the gods or higher beings, which are immortal, because they are aware of death but they do not die. Right in the middle of the spectrum, there are humans, possessing both the will to live and the the knowledge of death. Therefore, it is reasonable, that one would want to live forever, or for an indefinite time. We could benefit from the thrilling idea that any present day could be our last with the possibility that it may be not.
