4. BE/BECOME/GET
SIFATLAR yaygın olarak be /become/get
fiilleriyle kullanılır.

 She is slim. when she learnt good
news.
 I am happy.
 I’ll get/become angry if she
doesn’t invite me.

6. Seem/appear/look + adj. Feel + adj.
 You look tired. Did you  I felt sad when I learnt bad
work hard? news.
 She seems pale. Is  Do you still feel tired?(=are
something wrong with her? you still tired?)

7. “Seem / appear “den sonra ‘to be + adj. ‘de
kullanılabilir ama look dan sonra ‘to be’
kullanılmaz.
 Don’t try to talk to her. She seems to be angry.
 He appeared to be ill.

8. Taste + adj. Smell + adj.
 The dinner tasted delicious.  The room smells awful.
(the dinner was delicious.)  The rose smells nice.
 This soup tastes awful.

9. Sound + adj.
 Gordugumuz bir durumu ifade ederken
look/seem/appear kullanilir. Duydugumuz
bir durumu ifade ederken de sound
kullanilir.
 The music sounds loud.
 I talked to her on the phone. She
sounded ill.

‘like’ ile kullanilacaksa devaminda isim
gelir.

3. Time: now, yesterday, tomorrow..
4. Frequency: usually, always, never…
5. Sentence: actually, really, definitely..
6. Degree: very, hardly, scarcely, quite,
fairly..
7. Focusing: just, only, simply, even, also…

13. USE OF ADVERBS
 Zarflar bir eylemin nasıl yapıldığını ifade
eden sözcüklerdir. Yani yükleme ‘HOW’
sorusunu sorduğumuzda yanıt
alabileceğimiz sözcüklerdir.
 He is a careful driver.(adj.)
 He drives carefully.(adv.)
 How does he drive?

14. Look/taste/ smell eylem bildiriyorsa
zarf kullanilir.
 She looked angry.(she is angry)
 She looked at me angrily.(angrily looked)
 The soup tasted delicious.
 She tasted the soup suspiciously.
 The flowers smelt wonderful.

report at 5 o’clock.

17. ENOUGH : sıfat ve zarflardan
sonra, isimden önce gelir.
Adj./adv. + ENOUGH + to infinitive

18.  ENOUGH : sıfat ve zarflardan sonra,
isimden önce gelir.
 We don’t have enough eggs to make an
omlette.

19.  She is mature enough. She decide for
herself.
 She is mature enough to decide for
herself.
 We are working fast enough to catch the
train.

20. Enough ve too ile eşanlamlı
cümleler üretebiliriz.
 You are too tense to take healthy
decision.
 You aren’t calm enough to take a healthy
decision.
