1. Academic Goals Essay Examples
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Academic Goals Essay Examples" poses its own set of
challenges. The intricacies lie not only in articulating personal aspirations but also in presenting
them in a way that is compelling, coherent, and reflective of one's true ambitions. It requires
introspection to identify and articulate academic goals, as well as the ability to convey them
effectively on paper.
The difficulty often arises in striking a balance between being aspirational and realistic, outlining
objectives that are both ambitious yet achievable. Additionally, finding unique and personal
examples to illustrate these goals can be challenging, as it requires delving into one's own
experiences and aspirations. The process involves careful consideration of one's educational
journey, identifying key milestones, and establishing a clear connection between past
achievements and future objectives.
Moreover, the challenge extends to ensuring that the essay aligns with the expectations and
guidelines set by academic institutions or application processes. Meeting word count
requirements, maintaining a coherent structure, and adhering to proper grammar and style
conventions further contribute to the complexity of the task.
In essence, writing an essay on academic goals requires a delicate blend of self-reflection, goal-
setting, and effective communication skills. It demands time, effort, and a keen awareness of
one's own educational path. However, by overcoming these challenges, the essay can serve as a
powerful tool to convey one's passion, commitment, and vision for academic success.
For those seeking assistance in navigating the intricacies of such essays, it's worth noting that

2. A Personal Review Of David Foster Wallace s Letter To Me
I hope this letter finds you well. My mother recently received a letter in the mail
pertaining to my child support, which stated that the state has decided to increase
the money I receive from my father by 0.67%. I understand this is what the state
has calculated to be the appropriate amount I need to thrive as a young woman
living in the 21st century in the United States. However, I believe this conclusion
was met erroneously as it is based on generalized statistics which are then calculated
to fit my lifestyle, which only people who have met me would know. Nonetheless,
when determining the life of someone one has never met, it s impossible to
understand the exact position that person may be in, so here s an explanation as to
why I feel my case... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s our default setting as David Foster Wallacemay put it. So while reading my hope
is that you are not drawn to believe that I am only putting myself into consideration
almost as if I m the only one who matters. The thing is, I have big dreams, and
dreams are not cheap. I want to be a certified neurosurgeon by the time I m thirty
years old, and this isn t a far fetched idea, I ve been thinking about it since third
grade. When I was younger I d calculate the cost of college with two parents put
into consideration, and the expenses seemed quite reasonable. Then my parents
parted their ways, but as I d seen in fantasized movies, parents would still both chip
in equally in order to assist their growing children. I never realized in my case the
only support I d be getting from my father would be financially. I won t lie it was
stung for a bit realizing that I lived two houses away from my father and he didn t

so that one day when he did stop by I d show him all my honor roll and perfect

3. Invasive Species Effects
The Effect Invasive Species Have on the Environment
The book entitled, Ecology of Weeds and Invasive Plants , opens with a quote from
Dr. A. S. Crafts saying, in the beginning there were no weeds. . This quote causes one
to stop and think about it. What Dr. Crafts meant by this quote was that even though
plants have existed for many years, weeds did not exist before humans began to
travel about. With all the traveling that humans do the problem of invasive plants has
grown tremendously (Radosevich, 1). The impact that invasive species have on the
environment is often overlooked or thought of as unimportant. The issue is vast,
yet little is done about it. The problem with invasive species is extremely important
and will impact the world for generations to come. This paper will explain what
invasive species are, show the negative impacts invasive species have on the
environment, and what we can do about this issue. As humans began to travel and
change the landscape of the lands, the pace of invasions has increased dramatically.
The word invasive species has a lot of negative connotations. However, invasive
plants are actually like native plants, not bad when they are in their native habitat,
but it is just when they are in a favorable non native environment that causes them to
become invasive. One and half million of the estimated species ten million species
are identified as an invasive species. It is impossible to predict what the
consequences of bringing a new

wasn t perfect entailed to more hard work. Eventually, Kellogg manifested his way
up to the creation of Corn Flakes, and they both slammed the market in 1897.
Ultimately, other companies began to create and distribute cereals, and by 1911,
there were over a hundred cereal companies in the city of Battle Creek. In 2011,
the world s largest cereal company, Kellogg, sold over $13 billion in cereal.
Speaking of which, an online article from the MSU library Cereal is insightful
regarding the topic. Did you know cereal sales have increased $1 billion from 2006
2010? According to the journal, General Mills is also sending coupons to consumer s
smart phones. Another brilliant marketing strategy, convenience to the max. To
further prove my point, other companies such as Nestle, Purina, Campbell Soup co,
are all studying the psychology of shoppers, and their attitude towards most of the
factors you can think of. The science in America is innovating is one of the few
factors of why America is sometimes called the best country in the world.... Show

We re coming up with new, efficient methods to help innovate America. For
example, water filters, which are basically filters that remove contaminants from
raw water, and allow us to consume pure water. Many contaminants nowadays can
be dangerous, and can cause damage. Food science/technology plays a key role in
our daily lives, and it seems like we re taking it for granted. Without food science,
how would we know what s in the food we re eating? There would be no food labels,
labeling if it s a product of health, or a product we want to stay away from. The
field is fabricating ways to even create safe packaging , which allows for a food to
store all of its nutritional contents, without the drawbacks of traditional food
5. The Theory And Factors Affecting Reaction Rates
Chemical Background Hydrogen peroxide is a by product of many reactions that
occur within the body however, it is toxic so needs to be broken down. The equation
for this decomposition is as follows: гЂ–2HгЂ—_2 O_2 в†’ гЂ–2HгЂ—_2 O+ O_2
In the body, this reaction can be catalysed by the enzyme catalase. Catalase is not
removed or used up in this reaction, and speeds up the rate of reaction. It is acting
as a catalyst. The decomposition can be catalysed by other catalysts, however, and
this is the basis of my investigation. By using different catalysts, I can investigate
how the rate of reaction changes with each one and find out if catalase is the best
catalyst for this decomposition. The collision theory and factors affecting reaction
rates For a reaction to take place, two particles must collide with each other so they
come in to contact. However, just colliding with each other does not initiate a
reaction. Something called the activation enthalpy must be overcome. The
activation enthalpy is the minimum (kinetic) energy required by a pair of
molecules that are colliding before a reaction can occur. So, for a reaction to take
place, pairs of molecules must collide with enough energy to equal or overcome the
activation enthalpy. There are several factors that affect the rate of reaction (three of
which I am investigating). The factors are as follows: Concentration of reactants
This factor is explored in more depth in a later section. Temperature this factor is
explored in
6. Essay on my last duchess
Poets often use literary techniques to clearly convey the personalities of their
speakers. In
My Last Duchess , Robert Browning uses point of view, diction, and imagery to
achieve a powerful effect, underlining the attitude and personality of the Duke.
In a dramatic monologue, character development is based on what the speaker says,
and how he says it. In My Last Duchess , the speaker of the monologue addresses a
fictional audience, and the reader is seen as an unnoticed third party. It is because of
this viewpoint that the reader is able to analyze the words and actions of the Duke,
gaining insight into his life and personality that he is not aware of giving. While the

The Duke s trifling lack of countenance is evident in his jealousy of the duchess s
kindness toward others. Her benevolence disgusts the Duke, and causes him to stoop
down to spouting off
commands in her direction. By publicly describing the features that he disliked about
the personality of his duchess, he is shown to be a heartless, arrogant man. His
complete nonchalant manner about the issue of his wife s death is also seen through
his diction. He seems to care more about impressing his guests than telling them
about his wife, as he describes the artwork and artist with such passion. The piece a
wonder, now: Fra
Pandolf s hands worked busily a day, and there she stands. He encourages the envoy
to
Please you sit and look at her, as he had invited many other men to do so. Through the
diction used both in describing the Duke and in his own thoughts, the reader sees his
arrogant and ruthless nature.
Browning s use of distinct imagery further creates the picture of the Duke as an
egotistical, tyrannical, and ruthless man. The Duke, through his words to the envoy
and his description of his duchess, proves his own need to be in control. He initially
asks his guests to please you sit and look at her , later tells his guests that no one
may draw the curtain, and in the end commands them to please rise and go
downstairs. These commands paint the Duke as a man

It was in the year 1908 when the world first effortlessly fell in love with the tale of
Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. Since then, the story has been re
discovered, imitated, and adapted hundreds of times. In doing so, not only is the
story of Anne Shirley kept alive but also generations of fandoms are connected
through ever evolving forms of media representation and relevant interpretations of
the story. Although the fandom has no official name or recognition in the eyes of
scholars, it is undoubtedly a presence that continues to grow and influence the way
readers perceive Montgomery s timeless tale. The story has been adapted as a
Japanese anime, musical, radio drama, and feature film. With each adaptation of the
story, one can... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The endeavour to break free from such limitations is one of the reasons the fandom
continues to evolve in their interpretations of who and what Anne represents, with
the most recent adaptation from Netflix promising to illustrate the gritty and
realistic aspects of life. Montgomery demonstrates the belief that the expectations
one adopts from reading, or any form of media, may never be attained in real life;
such as when Anne describes how she read about and tried to imagine what

embraced Anne s life affirming hope and imaginations in transforming the mundane
adventures of Anne Shirley into a story of heart and a voice of courage. As Anne of

optimism and hope, the fandom has kept the story of Anne Shirley alive, pertinent
and relevant in the world we

Romeo and Juliet, Antony and Cleopatra, Napolean and Josephine. Throughout
society s entire existence, we have known almost innately that these couples belong
together, and yet fate intervened to deal their relationship a tragic blow. Yet readers
persist on viewing these couples as the most passionate of all times. What makes
them so unique? What makes them so compatible? What makes everyone see them
as half of a whole instead of two? These couples proved to society that they belonged
together, no matter what circumstances they faced . They possessed True Love, the

as these break the ties of the unification of true love.
Tess, unlike Angel, was taken advantage of. In different stages of her life, she is used

The figures I show are for the US. I expect that the European countries with all of

were done for them.
I think the way GDP is calculated today misses many of the linkages as to what is
really happening. I know my model is not exactly right but I hope it gives some
insight as to what is really happening, as oil prices and the credit markets interact to
affect the economy.
As I look at this model, one question comes up: What if a similar oil price run up
occurs again, followed by more recession, and even more reduction in lending?
Governments are already spending far more than they take in. The high spending
already in place, and the large gap between revenue and expenditures, makes it clear
that there is not much room for a repeat stimulus program. The next time around
could be much worse! (Treberg, 2010)
Additionally, when Gross Domestic Product taxes reduce spending and receipts

clear whistle from the top of a tree or another high location. Sometimes males will

unwelcome intruders.
The male is the one to show off to attract a mate. Sometimes you ll see the male

the male s qualities such as the size of his black face mask as well as the color of
his plumage and bill. When the female agrees to become his mate they sing to each
other.
The cardinal is a ground feeder and finds food while hopping through forests and
shrubbery. The adults diet consists of insects, spiders, wild fruits, berries, and weed
seeds. They feed their young almost exclusively on insects. In the winter, Cardinals
eat more seeds and berries since insects are

In the 2012 NFL season, NFL teams drank 1,800,144 bottles of Thirst Quencher.
Gatorade had been in football since the athletes were doing strenuous exercises, they
continually battled dehydration in the Florida heat (Wickford). Our bodies sweat
system relies on salts to pump water onto our skin to evaporate and cool us off
(Wilcox). But is Gatoradeas healthy as they make it out to be?
Gatorade says that their drink was born in a Lab (Jim F). In early summer of 1965, a
University of Florida assistant coach sat down with a team of university physicians
and asked them to determine why so many of his players were being affected by
heat and heat related illnesses, (Gatorade). They soon discovered two key factors
that were causing Gator players to fall apart: the fluids and electrolytes the players
lost through sweat were not being replaced, and the large amounts of carbohydrates
the players bodies used for energy were not being replenished (Gatorade). The
researchers then took their findings into the lab, and made a new, precisely balanced

The results differed a little bit between the men and the women. Across previous
research and including this current study it was found that alcohol and drug use
were related to sexual risk behavior. These were the only two variables that seemed
consistent for both sexes. For men, higher extraversion and lower agreeableness
seemed to predict risky sexual behavior. For women it was higher sexual excitation
and lower sexual inhibition that led to risky sexual behavior. They also looked at
the Big Five personality traits but they found that they were not predictive of risky
sexual behavior like some were in men. Their findings were consistent with the
previous literature that is already published. It found that social desirability was
related to risky sexual behavior in women, and the threat of sexual disclosure was
related to risky sexual behavior in men. This was something that this study added
to the literature out there. This study is hard to make predictions off of because it
is only correlational, but it does give people insight to the type of people who are
more likely to engage in risky sexual

always knew the importance of education; it was ingrained in me by my mother

economic hardships forced them to come to the U.S. and work. I am the first
person in my family to go to college and will be the first to pursue a graduate
degree. The passion for education that my parents instilled, as well as my cultural
values, drives me to pursue a graduate degree. Early in my undergraduate educationI
became interested in researchand statistics, specifically related to education. My
passion for quantitative methods came after I enrolled in my Psychological Methods
class. This inspired me to expand my knowledge of statistics and go outside the
department to enroll in other advanced statistics courses. These classroom
experiences along with applied research and evaluation experience culminated with
me wanting to obtain a graduate degree in quantitative methods. I want to be able to

The Necessity of Sacrifice in the Lives of the Innocent
The innocence of youth is often romanticized as being has days filled with laughter
and energy; it is oblivious of the stress and responsibilities of this world. In such a
picturesque world, however, it becomes easy to forget the many limitations of
youth:. nNo right to vote, to make decisions, to own property or to even stay up
past a specified bedtime. The idyllic life of a child is easily disagreeable to those
youth who want know what they want; to those youth with great aspirations. Many
children both real and in fictional literature experience great struggles while trying to
achieve goals by their own accord. Western North American authors Mark Helprin
and Miriam Toewseffectively portrayed this plight of a willful child in their novels
A City in Winter and A Complicated Kindnessrespectively. Mark Helprin s A City in
Winter is the tale of an extraordinary young girl reclaiming her kingdom. Yet even
with her wit, charm and innocence, her progression is ultimately unsuccessful until
her surrogate father swoops in quite literally to save the day knowing it is at the

19. Prejudice And Racism In The Help By Kathryn Stockett
The Help, written by Kathryn Stockett, is set in Jacksonville, Mississippi during the
1960 s a time when white people were considered superior to blacks in the southern
United States. Throughout most of the book, we follow the story of a white woman
named Skeeter Phelan, who gathers stories from the black women, called the help,
about their work as maids inside of the white peoples homes, and compiles them
into a book. The goal of this book is to expose (and eventually get rid of) the racism
that these black women are faced with working for their white families. Most of
the white people grew up with the help doing whatever they were asked and in turn
were exposed to racial inferiority as a normal occurrence. Most of the white people
believed that they were of higher class than their help. As a result, the white people
constructed a sort of wall... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

it was possible to have a black maid and so she was not exposed to the different ways

20. Role of Women in Maupassant s Works
Guy de Maupassant is one of the most popular French short story writers from the
19th Century and was also considered to be the father of modern short story
writings. Maupassant belonged to the naturalistic school and took issues like the
attitudes of the bourgeoisie or the Franco Prussian War, along with the highly
fashionable life of France in his age, and these became the key aspects of the cynical
style of writing.
Taking some of the aspects of his life in relation to his works, it is stated that he
normally didn t like work and whenever he found free time, for which he actually
searched for, he used to spend it in pursuit of women, which can probably relate to
how he expresses hypocrisy in women s characters and have a better ... Show more

were all writing at the same time, on the threshold of their eternal abode, the truth, the
terrible and the holy truth of which everybody was ignorant, or pretended to be
ignorant, while they were alive.
Keeping the above statement in mind, it can be said that the entire truth of the
woman in concern and the truth of their relationship was a lie. And this is affective
for the woman because the man showed the chivalry and honestly loved her. He had
faith in her that s why he was В‘ignorant and did not try to judge her actions, in the
end, she herself (in the dreams or not) came out and revealed herself to him. So
initially what was written was removed and the epitaph said:
Having gone out in the rain one day, in order to deceive her lover, she caught cold
and died.
The woman is deceptive and in turn highlights the man in a positive light indicating
how he is honest and chivalric.
Keeping the same notion in mind, another story about a woman deceiving her
husband is the False Gems which revolves around the woman s interests in operas
and jewels. The element of pretence runs throughout the short story; the fact that the
woman who appears pious and virtuous (as the woman

This portion of the Crescenta Valley Park used to be owned by the German American

the Tricentennial Foundation which is a German American foundation came in

William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet , is the most well known classical piece
of sentimental literature in the world. Throughout the years, it has been adapted
into films by directors from an extensive range of dialect backgrounds. Among
those, Franco Zeffirelli s 1968 version and the modern version directed by Baz
Luhrmann in 1996, are both unquestionably the most successful and popular
variations. Roger Ebert, quoted Franco Zeffirelli s 1968 film version of Romeo and

Spoiled, Brat, Snitch, and Hypocrite are four words that described my twenty year
old sister Jessica Bunn. Today, four years later I think of her in a completely
different way. She has taught me so many things and helped shape me into the
woman I am today. Even though we are thousands of miles apart we still share an
inseparable bond. My sister has not always been a positive influence but she has
matured into one of the best women I know. Over the next few minutes I will be
talking about how mine and my sister s relationship hasn t always been great, but
over the years she has become my best friend and for this reason my sister has and
will forever influence my life in a positive way. Mine and my sister s relationship is
far from perfect. When I was younger up until high schoolour relationship was at its
worst. We were constantly bickering about anything and everything. My sister
treated me badly, but I craved her attention. She left me at home and went out with
her friends, but for some reason I was drawn to her. I always tried to impress her and
wanted her to like me. No matter what she said or did to me, I still wanted to be her
best friend. I recall one day after school when I was 7 my sister was babysitting me as
she always did. We had been watching TV and I got up to make some popcorn.
While I was doing my usual dancing routine waiting for the microwave to stop I
heard a giant thud. I ran back to see my sister lying there in the living room floor
gasping for air.

I consider Luther King s measure of a man to be accurate and one that I would like
to adopt. I consider myself tenacious and stubborn, but above all ambitious. Like
Macbeth and Coriolanus, my ambition allows me to set out goals for myself that I
am able to complete through my perseverance. However, I deem it important to
always play the man I am and never to allow my ambitions to corrupt me, or to
allow other people to manipulate those ambitions adversely, as happens with both
Macbeth and Coriolanus. In this way I will always be surrounded by people and
objectives that contribute positively to life. Therefore, I do agree with Thabo Mbeki.

As millions of Americans transition from full time work to retirement, they move
from the life stage of asset accumulation to a new stage distribution planning. Instead
of trying to acquire and build up savings for retirement, they are now repositioning
their assets to provide an income they can rely on for the rest of their lives.
The impact of this shift, which is beginning right now for the initial waves of
millions of baby boomers, cannot be overestimated. Born between 1946 and 1964,
these boomers will need to plan for a retirement that could last for more than 30
years. So, it s not only those close to retirement, but an entire generation that may
need professional help to ensure that their portfolios will provide an income
throughout their lifetimes.
There are several key risks that can undermine the success of a retirement plan
longevity, inflation, asset allocation, fund withdrawal rate and last, but certainly not
least, health care expenses.

When they all decide to stand up for themselves and demand a union, their idea gets
shut down very quickly by Michael s boss. She tells them they will all lose their

warehouse workers and the office employees is drastically different. The warehouse
workers are carefree when they talk when on the other hand, the office employees
need to be more professional when they hold conversations. There are many
different distinctions between both workers including wage, jobs, and dialogue
which are shown to be unrealistic and the truth is stretched out. The likelihood of
these events becoming true are very slim because of the unprofessionalism. The
camera work in these episodes seem as if someone has a video camera and is
walking around, taping them all day long. The cameraman is not shown in the
episodes but the characters to acknowledge that he is there, due to their glances and

scene to the next, as in it is a little choppy. The characters acting is again seen to be
exaggerated with Michael and Dwight, plain Pam the boring receptionist, then Jim
and Daryl are the most realistic characters. The lighting is always very good and you

27. College Station Area Is The Huge Inconvenience Of The...
One of the more dominant problems within the Bryan, College Station area, is the
extensive amount of flooding that takes place every year. Whenever it rains, the
town and a large number of major areas gets engulfed by uncontrollable amounts of
water. The streets and roadways get backed up with so much excess water that they
must close off certain parts of town to ensure the safety of the people who live there.
Flooding in Bryan, College Station is an enormous inconvenience to the people who
live there. This issue can be solved by simply collecting more tax money, fixing the
drainage system, and by coming up with procedures or regulations for future
constructions, so people can build their new establishments on higher grounds. It has
been stated by the Weather Channel that, In June of 2016, the Brazos River crested
just over 4 feet above its previous record floodstage at Richmond, Texas (Tom
Moore). Beings that Collage Station is located in a Bryan Valley, the area is mostly
flat terrain with occasional hills and slow absorbing soil, packed with large amounts
of establishments that can easily become prone to flooding. During the times of
intense rain, the water builds up and exceeds the limit for drainage in the area.
Bridges, roads, walkways, and parking lots, get engulfed with the water, making it
impossible to get through. Highway 6, near College Station, is one of the major
roads that people use to commute from place to place, and to get home, when it

As one looks at the history of democracy, it is common to detect an undertone, a
rush of voices clamoring for purchase in the debate regarding how the country will
be governed. It is my belief that this undertone is the footprint of civil society, a
segment of democratic societies that often can be difficult to identify. Much has
been said about how difficult civil society is to define. However, as I read the
various definitions and came to my own conclusion, it seemed to me that we should
look at civil society as the vital foundation on which democracy is built. There are
definitely challenges and civil society is not perfect, but democracy itself is ... Show

I believe that Brian O Connell elucidates an important pre condition for the strong
civil society that developed in this country when it was simply a part of the British
Empire (O Connell, 1999). When British settlers first came to North America, it
was a largely untamed wilderness, and to some degree the first settlers were entirely
on their own, since many of them were religious dissidents, seeking a place to
practice the faith they deemed to be correct. The colonies that were set up by the
British largely came once they were made aware of the natural bounty that existed in
North America. The first settlers isolation and the subsequent isolation that even the
official British colonies experienced forced people to organize and to create
associations; institutions such as churches, granges, unions, public services such as
fire companies, sheriff s offices, and militias (O Connell, 1999). These institutions
began to represent the American experience, as our means of socialization and
support. Therefore, as I see it, civil society came first and in truth created the
framework upon which our founding fathers laid our representative democracy. The
groups and institutions that were created during the settling of North America gave
America the confidence to legally declare its separation from Great Britain. As I see
it, the successful

32. Analysis Of Legally Blonde
In the acclaimed 2001 film, Legally Blonde, the main character, Elle Woods, is a
fantastic feminine icon for females. The film represents the struggle of women to
prove their ability. Remarkably, Elle never succumbs to those who so strongly see
her as being stupid. While others put down her abilities and intelligence, Elle hardly
ever doubts herself. She moves through the world with pure confidence. As Callahan,
a law professor at Harvard who later selects Elle Woodsfor his internship quips, it s
as if she just woke up one day and said, I m going to law school. She decides on a
goal and knows she can attain it, even if others only respond with incredulity or
mockery. Legally Blonde has many positive depictions of women and femininity for
a 2001 film.
Elle doesn t fit the misogynist prospect of submissive femininity. She is loud,
emotional, and flamboyant. When she enters a room with the clacking of her bright
pink heels, Chihuahua in arm, beaming and effusive, you cannot ignore her. Elle s
bubbliness and enthusiasm is often disdained, especially in the legal world, but she
continues to express her true self. She is unapologetic about being attractive, sexual
and caring about her appearance. She does not stop being stereotypically girly
despite that it makes others think she is less legitimate and intelligent. She proves
that sexy and smart are not opposing forces. Elle is the perfect example of how being
feminine does not mean you submit to patriarchal notion of submissiveness.
One of the fundamental themes in Legally Blonde is that a female having an ardor
for fashion does not make her dim witted and that fashion insight is not an
immanently futile form of knowledge. Elle s fashion knowledge is introduced
when a retailer labels her as a dumb blonde, and tries to take advantage of her by
ripping off the last season sale tag and selling it to her for full price. Did you see
this one? We just got it in yesterday. the retailer told her. Slyly, she asks Is this a
low viscosity rayon with half loop top stitching on the hem?. Why yes, it s one of a
kind, the retailer replied. Elle uses her fashion knowledge and wittily replies It s
impossible to use a half loop topstitch on low viscosity rayon.

Form...
Enterprise mobility improves the time, content, and form dimensions of information
quality.
Since each dimension is improved, the resulting overall quality of information
generated by an organizational information system that utilizes enterprise mobility is
also improved.
Improved Information Accessibility
Enterprise mobility enables improvements in information accessibility. The degree of
improvement is directly dependent upon the mobile hardware and communications
equipment in use. The degree of information accessibility required which defines the
hardware and communications requirements is determined by the business needs that
are driving the enterprise mobility application. Enterprise mobility technology
(hardware, software, and communications) provides a wide range of options that can
be mixed and matched to fit the needs of each individual enterprise mobility
application.
The improvements in information accessibility enabled by enterprise mobility result
in improved information flow both to and from the central fixed information system.
The mobile computer enables quick and efficient information retrieval from the
central information system. The ability to access central information and make fixed
or ad hoc queries of corporate databases enables employees to get the information they
need to complete the job. The mobile computer also enables transmission of current
operational data, in native digital format, from the mobile user to the central fixed

The basic foundation for the development of various communication phenomena are
based on cultural and cross cultural patterned practices. One such communication
phenomenon in interpersonal communication is facework. Famous ethnographers of
communication, Erving Goffman, Penelope Brown, and Stephen C. Levinson,
developed compelling cases on the theory of facework that are often used as the
basis for understanding issues of facework active in diverse cultures. Thus, this
section of the paper will review works of Victoria Chen, and Brown and Levinson to
better understand how the communicative practice of facework is performed in
different situations. As Goffman defines it in On Face Work, and Brown and
Levinson in Politeness: Some Universals in Language Usage, facework is a social act
that individuals in societies tend to perform in order to maintain a public self image
(Chen 113). This phenomena can be further analyzed by separating face and work.
Face is something that is emotionally invested, and that can be lost, maintained, or

controversy surrounding sexual violence and objectification. There can be no
question of a need of such discussion in regards to the themes that Animals the

not be whether it promotes these topics but rather if it does a good enough job of
making the audience critically aware that these problems exist. This will be done by

explore the reason why gender roles in Marie de France s Lai de Lanval are
flipped, and if this particular lai has an underlying political purpose. Marie de
France was one of the most significant female writers of the Medieval Ages, and her
romance work focuses on women along with their internal motivation rather than
heroic acts of men. Her particular style of writing has brought attention to the way
she creates her characters and plot. Several of Marie s characters have interesting
qualities, and perform certain actions that have caused the literary realm to take
notice. Lanval himself being the main character attracts the majority of the attention:
why did Marie choose to feminize him? The fairy queen also raises questions of
women given masculine qualities, and why her role seemed much more like that of a
man in the writings of other writers during Marie s time. King Arthur and his queen,
Guinevere, have a curious relationship and interact with each other and others in a
manner that deserves a closer look. After viewing the gender roles of each of these
characters, I want to discuss the possibility that Marie depicted her characters the
way she did to take a political stance. However, before we can delve into the realm of
underlying
40. Sense And Sensibility And Pride And Prejudice By Jane
Austen
Jane Austen a very talented writer wrote six books in her entire life time, the
books are namely Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park,
Emma, Persuasion and Northanger Abbey, out of which her top novels are Sense
and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice. She was vastly appreciated for her realistic
way of writing and was highly valued for her clear and meaningful messages
conveyed through the novels. Some of the cretiques argues that her book Sense and
Sensibility is not that convincing and appealing to the audience compared to Pride
and Prejudice. Though the books she wrote were all about all about women and
outlined her books with marriage plot (Southam, Criticism, 1870 1940 , the Jane

Sense and Sensibility is the story about three sisters Elinor and Marianne
Dashwood. Elinor is the eldest daughter of Mr. Dashwood and according to the
Southam criticism Marianne Dashwood, sister of Elinor represents the sense and
sensibility of the title. Mr. Henry Dashwood the father of Elinor and Marianne
leaves all his money to John Dashwood son from his first wife when he dies. The
second wife of Mr. Dashwood and her three daughters are left with no home to live
and with a very less income. This showed the social status of women during the
Restoration period. The people thought that the women in particular would not be
able to handel the wealth and property like the men so the three sisters including
the mother second wife of Mr. Dashwood was left alone without a single penny to
servive on. Similarly in one of the most popular novels of Jane Austen, published
in 1813 Pride and Prejudice had some similar conflicts of women facing difficulty
with the society. The mother Mrs. Bennet had got five unmarried Daughters and
she had an urge to marry all the daughters as quick as possible. The daughters are
introduced to Mr. Bingley a rich and single man who moves into their
neighborhood. Mr. Bennet falls for Jane and had an urge to marry her but due to
some problems he feels to London and only returns in the end. Mr. Darcy another
rich unmarried man and friend of Mr. Bingley falls for

Written Report Concerning Rocket Sled Catchment Arresting Systems
QinetiQ, a defence technology company headquartered in Farnborough, have a
problem regarding their Pendine long test track facility located in South Wales. The
test track is 1500m long and test items are powered down the track on sleds pushed
by rocket motors. QinetiQ are finding a variety of engineering challenges in
containing the rocket motor sleds in relatively short distances at the end of the track
on high velocity trials (600m/s 700m/s). There is often significant damage caused to
the capture systems used on such trials and the damage caused to them mean that
they cannot be reused.

42. The Internal Cultures Of Diaspora, By Bharati Mukherjee
Bharati Mukherjee was an Indian born American writer. Her writings explored the
internal culture clashes of immigrant. She was born on 1940, July 22 she belong to
an upper middle class Hind Brahmin family in Calcutta. She is second daughter of
three for the parent of Sudhir Lal, a Chemis and Bina Banerjee. Until all age of
eight she lived with big family with 40 50 relatives. Mukherjee and her sister had
opportunity to receive rich excellent schooling. In 1947, her father move to England
for his job and he brought his family too. Until 1951 they lived in England. Her life
in England gave opportunity to develop and perfect her in English language skills.

To scatter about is the meaning for Diaspora . The people immigrant from their
native place to another place across the world spreads their culture as they go. In
Bible Jews exiled from Israel by the Babylonians so the Bible refers to Diaspora. It
s a small example for Diaspora. The origin of Diaspora started at 1st century itself.
The movement of the population from one place to another is also refers to the
Diaspora. Africa, Asia, Europe per some of the countries having Diaspora. The
first mentioned Diaspora is found in Septuagint. According to the oxford English
Dictionary, the first usage of the word Diaspora is recorded in the English
language in 1876. So after the Bible s translation in Greek the Diaspora word used
to refer to the Northern kingdom out between 740 722 be from Israel by the
Assyrians. The term Diaspora becomes more involved into English in the middle
of 1950s. The study of Diaspora became the sense of the world. William Safran
published in an article in 1991, he distinguish six rules to Diasporas from migrant
communities. Rogers Brubaker (2005) says that, Diaspora is widening now. Most
early discussions of Diaspora rooted in the concept of homeland . They were
concerned with the paradigmatic case or a small number of care cases. The Jewish
Diaspora is the paradigmatic case. Now a day there is a Diasporas in

Havana brims with Cuba s best nightlife, which hinges on music and dancing.. Bars
and clubs are aplenty, and some even throw a drink or two in with the cover. Kick
off the night with a daiquiri yes, they re so good you won t even feel (that) ashamed

One standout hotspot is La Zorra y el Cuervo, a subterranean club that churns out
great live jazznightly. For Havana s biggest and best party, La Casa de la Musica
(the Centro Habana location is the edgier of the two) draws scantily clad chicas

But since the average Cuban local only earns about $30 per month, budgeting is of
major importance when planning a night out. Rather than going to a fancy bar,
disco or nightclub, Cubans have perfected the art of casual, free hangouts.
Between Avenida De Los Presidentes four lanes of traffic, there is a very wide
median with hundreds of benches and ornately trimmed trees. On most days,
people come to this area to relax, read or eat lunch. At night, this area really comes
alive. It is a popular meeting spot for young people who come to lounge on the
benches and relax on the grass, under the trees. Most of the revelers are university
students and artists who live in the Vedadoneighborhood. The largest crowds
gather close to the corner of Calle 23 (23 Street). There is a cheap, open air bar as
well as several cafes, restaurants and state run cafeterias which ensure everybody
has enough to eat and that the party goes on late into the night. La Rampa, also
called Ave 23, is a busy road which cuts across the Vedado neighborhood from east

44. Environmental Impact upon the Oceans and International...
Environmental Impact upon the Oceans and International Law When looking at the
environment of the Earth s oceans, it is important to realize that the entire ocean is
composed of a different base material than the rest of the mass of the world, this of
course, being water. While on the surface this seems elementary, the complications
when looking at the environmental impacts occurring can cause serious
complications that can affect the problem immensely. Acid rain, for instance, can
effective drop the pH of the water to levels capable of causing large fish kills.
Global warming can increase the water temperatures around tropical reefs in the
summer easily to levels far beyond the tolerable range of the reef forming stony
corals.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The oceans have evolved over the millennia to handle this small amount of
nutrients with relative ease. The waste produced by the bio load of the seas is
primarily emitted as ammonia and ammonium, which get broken down through a
series of steps involving the bacterium nitrosomos and nitrobacter. The end result is
a much less toxic form of nitrogen called nitrates. A third, anaerobic, bacteria is
able to alter the nitrates into nitrogen gas which then is able to safely leave the
system and enter the atmosphere. This bacteria is only able to live in the area of the
seabed that is deep enough to prevent oxygen from reaching, yet shallow enough for
the water containing these nitrates to permeate. This limitation in territory naturally
limits the amounts of nitrates able to be broken down naturally by the oceans. The
influx of nitrates, phosphates, and silicates from pesticides and chemical wastes
cause the ecological balance to become disrupted. The microalgaes that live on the
reefs can grow extremely fast in a relatively short period of time when given the right
conditions. The level of nitrogen that has entered the oceans has increased by over
40% when compared to ammoniums. This increase has been attributed to the steadily
increasing use of fossil fuels, and the atmosphere s inability to deal with the
emissions (AAAS, 1). The increase in nutrients can create the ideal conditions for
these organisms to flourish. Once
45. Middle Class Women In Medieval Times
Women of Medieval Times
In the beginning of the Middle Ages, women of higher class owned land and had a
high social reputation, as if they were equal to men. As the 12th century hit,
female roles started to fall apart. Women in the upper class were now below their
husbands. Females could not attend school and they were also excluded from
politics because men thought they were not fit to understand them. However,
women in the lower class were more equal to their husbands and male coworkers
(Women 58 60). Women of all classes in the medieval times were always expected
to be wives and take care of all the house needs. At the age of 10 a female was
expected to be able to manage a home. The older women in the home taught the
younger girls mandatory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An upper class woman was expected to have six to ten children in her lifetime and
expected most of them to reach adulthood since she was married off at a younger
age and had better care for her children. Women had a 10 percent chance of death
during childbirth and as they aged older the chance of death increased (Women 62
63). Typically after birth, a newborn was instantly baptised therefor, immediately
becoming a member of the church (Orme 2). Abortion was extremely dangerous in
this time. It was performed with a series of poisons and herbs. Childbirth was the
leading cause of death in women in the medieval ages. Women in medieval times
were to be obedient to their husbands, no matter what the class. A male was
allowed to beat his wife as often and as much as he pleased, as long as he didn t kill
her. Adultery was a very serious crime because it could produce illegal children and
a female could be beaten to death by her husband in return (Women 62 63). Later in
the medieval times, a woman caught committing adultery would have her ears and
nose cut off and then walked through the town for everyone to stare at (The Price of
Adultery
46. The Importance Of Settlement In North America
The first main example in this case is the discovery of the different skeletal remains
that allowed for the different kinds of opinions to be expressed concerning the
settlement in the North America. There is a common belief that the first people to
settle in North America were the Pale Indians. The era that then followed was the
Archaic era that was keenly followed with the radical development in the agriculture.
This can be regarded as the most significant development since the agriculture that
was settled allowed for the start of the sedentary existence with no need of pursuing
the animals that are herd. Since the food source could not now be fully provided by
a way of growing crops alone the Pre Columbian era followed. This saw the
development
47. A Brief Note On Fair Dealing And Fair Use
A recurrent theme evident throughout copyright literature is the comparison between
fair dealing and fair use. These provisions allow for additional rights to be awarded
to users for educational or research purposes. Their meaning and scope are defined by
different legal systems, thus are not synonymous terms. Fair dealingis a legal term
pertaining to common law jurisdictions. It is used to establish whether the use of a
copyrightmaterial is lawful or whether it infringes copyright. With research or private
study as a central requirement, a two part test must be carried out with the purpose,
the character, the amount, the alternatives, the nature, and the effects of the dealing
taken into consideration. The introduction of the fair usemodel, with different
elements to the US doctrine, is highlighted by the Modernising Copyright Report
2013. With recent worldwide trends moving to a fair use doctrine, there are many
advocates promoting the method, considering it a highly flexible way of enabling
use of copyright works without infringement. Universities Australia, in its submission
to the ALRC discussion paper, believed the replacement of fair dealing exceptions
with fair use would enable academics to use copyright material in more
advantageous ways currently afforded to the US. Fair Tidmarsh also reach
favourable conclusions, noting that it would allow copyright works to be used in a
way consistent with the greater public interest of facilitating

Safety of Amalgam Fillings
What is Dental Amalgam (Silver Fillings)? Most people recognize dental amalgams
as silver fillings. Dental amalgam is a mixture of mercury, silver, tin and copper.
Mercury, which makes up about 50 percent of the compound, is used to bind the
metals together and to provide a strong, hard, durable filling. After years of research,
mercury has been found to be the only element that will bind these metals together in
such a way that can be easily manipulated into a tooth cavity. Is mercury in dental
amalgam safe? Mercury in dental amalgam is not poisonous. When mercury is
combined with other materials in dental amalgam, its chemical nature changes, so
it is essentially harmless. The amount of mercury released in the mouth under the
pressure of chewing and grinding is extremely small and no cause for alarm. In
fact, the amount is less than what patients are exposed to in food, air and water.
Ongoing scientific studies conducted over the past 100 years continue to prove
that amalgam is not harmful. Claims of diseases caused by mercury in amalgam
are anecdotal, as are claims of miraculous cures achieved by removing amalgam.
These claims have not been proven scientifically. Why do dentists use dental
amalgam? Dental amalgam has withstood the test of time, which is why it is the
material of choice. It has a 150 year proven track record and is still one of the safest,
most durable and least expensive
49. Captivity And Restoration Of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson
A Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson by Mary
Rowlandson is a primary example of the sectionalism of Puritans, and more
specifically, Puritan women. Rowlandson recounts the attack on her home by the
Wampanoag tribe as well as the aftermath of her eventual capture. Being certain to
record the removes, or days spent traveling with her captors, Rowlandson created a
record of her travels with her captors as well as preserved her own womanhood from
the accusations of her own people. The time of Puritan colonies was one in which
male preachers held the most power. Preachers received more education than most of
the population and their status as males provided them an unquestionable position of
power in Puritan society.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This restriction of interests is clearly displayed in the captivity narrative of Mrs.
Rowlandson. One example of this is her specific detail regarding her sleeping
situation and detailing of anything involving her body or emotion. As mentioned
above, Puritans placed a great deal of emphasis on the chastity of a woman,
meaning that Rowlandson was compelled to record everything that happened to
her in order to protect herself and her chastity by including her womanly feelings
such as her grief from having her child killed and having to leave her family
behind. Another example of sectionalism within the narrative can be found in
Rowlandson s account of the specific locations that she traveled to and the culture
of the people that she was with. She frequently mentions locations of Indian towns
and the barbaric behavior of the people living in them in order to both provide
details concerning the land around her home and to create a significant divide
between herself and the immoral group she was with. Finally, Mrs. Rowlandson
was able to display Puritan sectionalism by killing her captors and returning to her
family. As odd as it was for Mary to kill the Indians with brutality akin to that
exhibited by the natives, her actions were seen as justified and actually glorified by
the Puritans after her eventual return and
