This document provides instructions for a life drawing assignment asking students to create 2 sketches of a model demonstrating an understanding of value, modeling, and light logic. Students are instructed to tone the paper, sketch guidelines and angles within a "bubble" space, then fill in structural lines and subtract value using different drawing tools to show volume and lighting effects on the figure. The assignment objectives are to demonstrate comfort using different drawing mediums, show progression from general to specific lines, and improve understanding of light logic and how value creates an illusion of mass. Students will be graded based on how well their second drawing meets the objectives compared to their first.
