This document outlines a research study that aims to categorize the motivation of students in learning English at KPTM Bangi. It will use a quantitative survey research design with a stratified sampling technique. The study seeks to determine whether students are intrinsically or extrinsically motivated, and which gender is more motivated of each type. It also aims to identify factors that could improve intrinsic motivation. A questionnaire adapted from Pintrich's Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire will be used to measure motivation types and gather suggestions. Data analysis will include descriptive statistics and correlation analysis.
