Wireless Sensor Networks WSNs are collection of tiny sensor nodes capable of sensing, processing and broadcasting data correlated to some occurrence in the network area. The sensor nodes have severe limitation, such as bandwidth, short communication range, limited CPU processing facility, memory and energy. Enhancing the lifetime of wireless sensors network and efficient utilizations of bandwidth are essential for the proliferation of wireless sensor network in different applications. We provide an in depth study of applying wireless sensor networks WSNs to real world habitat monitoring. A set of system design requirements were developed that cover the hardware design of the nodes, the sensor network software, protective enclosures, and system architecture to meet the requirements of biologists. Although researchers anticipate some challenges arising in real world deployments of WSNs, many problems can only be discovered through experience. We present a set of experiences from a four month long deployment on a remote island. We analyze the environmental and node health data to evaluate system performance. The close integration of WSNs with their environment provides environmental data at densities previously impossible. We show that the sensor data is also useful for predicting system operation and network failures. Based on over one million data readings, we analyze the node and network design and develop network reliability profiles and failure models. A wireless sensor network is a computer network that consists of small devices called
sensor nodes. These sensor nodes have the ability to sense different environmental conditions like
temperature, pressure, etc. All these sensor nodes send their data to a central node or base station.
This creates a large communication overhead the energy source for these nodes is usually a battery.
This gives rise to huge consumption of energy and resources. So a solution is required that
overcomes the above problems. Data aggregation is one of its solutions. This method consists of
aggregators that combine the data coming from the sensor nodes and then passes it to the base
station. With the help of data aggregation we reduce the energy consumption by eliminating
redundancy and we can enhance the life time of wireless network. The purpose of the proposed paper
is to explain data aggregation in wireless sensor network, how it works, different techniques of data

Clustering is considered as one of the most prominent solutions to preserve theenergy in the wireless sensor networks. However, for optimal clustering, anenergy efficient cluster head selection is quite important. Improper selectionofcluster heads(CHs) consumes high energy compared to other sensor nodesdue to the transmission of data packets between the cluster members and thesink node. Thereby, it reduces the network lifetime and performance of thenetwork. CONTEXT-AWARE ENERGY CONSERVING ROUTING ALGORITHM FOR INTERNET OF THINGSIJCNCJournal
Internet of Things (IoT) is the fast- growing technology, mostly used in smart mobile devices such as notebooks, tablets, personal digital assistants (PDA), smartphones, etc. Due to its dynamic nature and the limited battery power of the IoT enabled smart mobile nodes, the communication links between intermediate relay nodes may fail frequently, thus affecting the routing performance of the network and also the availability of the nodes. Existing algorithm does not concentrate about communication links and battery power/energy, but these node links are a very important factor for improving the quality of routing in IoT. In this paper, Context-aware Energy Conserving Algorithm for routing (CECA) was proposed which employs QoS routing metrics like Inter-Meeting Time and residual energy and has been applied to IoT enabled smart mobile devices using different technologies with different microcontroller which resulted in an increased network lifetime, throughput and reduced control overhead and the end to end delay. Simulation results show that, with respect to the speed of the mobile nodes from 2 to 10m/s, CECA increases the network lifetime, thereby increasing the average residual energy by 11.1% and increasing throughput there by reduces the average end to end delay by 14.1% over the Energy-Efficient Probabilistic Routing (EEPR) algorithm. A Novel Weighted Clustering Based Approach for Improving the Wireless Sensor ...IJERA Editor
Great lifetime and reliability is the key aim of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) design. As for prolonging
lifetime of this type of network, energy is the most important resource; all recent researches are focused on more
and more energy efficient techniques. Proposed work is Weighted Clustering Approach based on Weighted
Cluster Head Selection, which is highly energy efficient and reliable in mobile network scenario. Weight
calculation using different attributes of the nodes like SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio), Remaining Energy, Node
Degree, Mobility, and Buffer Length gives efficient Cluster Head (CH) on regular interval of time. CH rotation
helps in optimum utilization of energy available with all nodes; results in prolonged network lifetime.
Implementation is done using the NS2 network simulator and performance evaluation is carried out in terms of
PDR (Packet Delivery Ratio), End to End Delay, Throughput, and Energy Consumption. Demonstration of the
obtained results shows that proposed work is adaptable for improving the performance. In order to justify the
solution, the performance of proposed technique is compared with the performance of traditional approach. The
performance of proposed technique is found optimum as compared to the traditional techniques.
Optimized Projected Strategy for Enhancement of WSN Using Genetic AlgorithmsIJMER
This paper put forward a new strategy for selecting the most favorable cluster head in Stable
Election Protocol (SEP). The planned approach selects a node as cluster head if it has the maximum
energy among all the available nodes in that particular cluster. It considers diverse nodes and divides
nodes among normal, transitional and advance nodes. To handle the heterogeneity of the nodes, different
optimized probability density functions are selected. First node dead time explain the network stability
period and last node dead explain the overall network lifetime. The main pressure is to increase the time
when first node dies and also when last node dies. The projected strategy is designed and implemented in
the Matlab using mathematics toolbox. The projected algorithm is also compared with the some prominent
protocols like leach, E-LEACH, SEP and extended SEP

A Vertical Handover Algorithm in Integrated Macrocell Femtocell Networks Yayah Zakaria
The explosion in wireless telecommunication technologies has lead to a huge increase in the number of mobile users. The greater dependency on the mobile devices has raised the user’s expectations to always remain best connected. In the process, the user is always desiringgood signal strength even at certain black spots and indoors. Moreover, the exponential growth of
the number of mobile devices has overloaded macrocells. Femtocells have emerged out as a good promising solution for complete coverage indoors and for offloading macrocell. Therefore, a new handover strategy between femtocells and macrocell is proposed in this paper. The proposed handover
algorithm is mainly based on calculating equivalent received signal strength along with dynamic margin for performing handover. The simulation results of proposed algorithm are compared with the traditional algorithm. The proposed strategy shows improvement in two major performance parameters
namely reduction in unnecessary handovers and Packet Loss Ratio. The quantitative analysis further shows 55.27% and 23.03% reduction in packet loss ratio and 61.85% and 36.78% reduction in unnecessary handovers at a speed of 120kmph and 30kmph respectively. Moreover, the proposed algorithm proves to be an efficient solution for both slow and fast moving vehicles.
A New Method for Reducing Energy Consumption in Wireless Sensor Networks usin...Editor IJCATR
Nowadays, wireless sensor networks, clustering protocol based on the neighboring nodes into separate clusters and fault
tolerance for each cluster exists for sensors to send information to the base station, to gain the best performance in terms of increased
longevity and maintain tolerance than with other routing methods. However, most clustering protocols proposed so far, only
geographical proximity (neighboring) cluster formation is considered as a parameter. In this study, a new clustering protocol and fault
tolerance based on the fuzzy algorithms are able to clustering nodes in sensor networks based on fuzzy logic and fault tolerance. This
protocol uses clustering sensor nodes and fault tolerance exist in the network to reduce energy consumption, so that faulty sensors
from neighboring nodes are used to cover the errors, work based on the most criteria overlay neighbor sensors with defective sensors,
distance neighbor sensors from fault sensor and distance neighbor sensors from central station is done. Superior performance of the
protocol can be seen in terms of increasing the network lifetime and maintain the best network tolerance in comparison with previous
protocols such as LEACH in the simulation results.
Analysis of Energy in Wireless Sensor Networks An Assessmentijtsrd
In the past decades, Wireless Sensor Network WSN has become a wide area of research. In WSN, numerous sensor nodes are randomly setup with different energy level. Energy acts as power source and is available to each sensor node in limited quantity. The limiting factor is that sensor nodes are energy constrained and recharging or replacing battery is costly and complex process. This paper explores the different energy consumption factors which effect the lifetime and performance of the WSN's. The main factors which effect the energy consumption in WSN's are scalability, load balancing, reliability, communication, collision, over hearing, ideal listing and latency. Researchers have proved that the node near to sink node discharge very fastly. Apart from these, most of the energy is consumed during the transfer of data from sender to receiver. In this paper effort is made to analyze the effect of different factors on energy consumption in WSN's. WSNs encompass a multitude of spatially distributed sensor nodes or devices employing radio signals for communication. Positioned strategically in a geographical area, these sensor nodes operate independently to collect information from their surroundings. Given their often remote and inaccessible locations, human interaction with deployed sensor nodes is limited. The core function of sensor nodes in WSNs involves sensing environmental data and transmitting it to a centralized base station or sink node. An Energy Aware Routing to Optimize Route Selection in Cluster Based Wireless...ijtsrd
A Wireless Sensor Network WSN is an autonomous, self organizing, and self configuring network with the capability of speedy deployment anywhere. Internet of Things IoT nodes are use cloud storage to collect information from sensors and transfer it to other IoT nodes or networks via cloud services. Energy efficient communication is likely one of the main conversation factors in WSN, so efficient routing is critical to make use of full power consumption and enhance the network performance. This research proposes an Energy Aware Cluster based Wireless Sensor EACW routing protocol that optimizes route selection by clustering of nodes in a Wireless Sensor IoT network. However, one of the biggest problems to be handled is the energy wastage in transport. Limited energy is one of the prime concerns in WSN IoT and efficient routing is the primary focus to improve energy utilization, which increases the network performance. LEACH is an energy based protocol that works on a cluster based mechanism to make use of the energy efficiently. In this research, we compare the performance of the LEACH protocol with that of the reactive on demand protocol in order to make the most of the networks energy constraints. The proposed scheme shows that nodes have at most imprecise state information, mainly under strong link establishment. EACW routing selects optimizes routes higher energy base route resolution , generates clusters, and has power measurement of each cluster member and cluster head. LEACH chooses that specific node for data transmission so that work raises the reliability of communication. The efficiency of the proposed EACW protocol is compared with CBRW and the performance matrices like live nodes, throughput, overhead and CH and CB information. Apurva Anand | Dr. Sadhna K.

Sadhna K. In The present study with the objective of cutting down energy consumption and persistence of
network coverage, we have offered a novel algorithm based on clustering algorithms and multihop routing. To achieve this goal, first, we layer the network environment based on the size of the
network. We will identify the optimal number of cluster heads and every cluster head based on
the mechanism of topology control will start to accept members.Likewise, we set the first layer
as gate layer and subsequently identifying the gate’s nodes, we’d turn away half of the sensors
and then stop using energy and the remaining nodes in this layer will join the gate’s nodes
because they hold a critical part in bettering the functioning of the system. Cluster heads off
following layers send the information to cluster heads in the above layer until sent data will be
sent to gate’s nodes and finally will be sent to sink. We have tested the proposed algorithm in
two situations 1) when the sink is off and 2)when a sink is on and simulation data shows that
proposed algorithm has better performance in terms of the life span of a network than LEACH
and ELEACH protocols.
A Research on Cluster Based Routing Methodologies for Wireless Sensor Networksijtsrd
The design of Wireless sensor networks has currently significant attention due to their limitless potential and has great value of applications such as not closely connected environmental monitoring and target tracking. This has been motivated by the development and availability of small, low cost and intelligent sensors. A wireless sensor network is a collection of sensor nodes prearranged into a cooperative network. These sensors nodes are outfitted with limited processing and computing resources. Since radio transmission and reception consumes a lot of power, one of the critical suspicions in wireless sensor network is the inherent limited battery power within the sensor nodes. Therefore battery power is one of the vital parameter for an algorithm design to increase the lifespan of the sensor node. Recent researches have been carried out in investigating diverse aspects in connection with low power routing protocols. In this paper, the focus is mainly driven towards the review of energy efficient cluster “based available routing protocols for wireless sensor network. Cluster-Based Routing Protocols is a renowned scheme to extend the lifetime and energy consumption simultaneously for the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). Every sensor node work homogenously or heterogeneously which is energy constrained when energy and memory capacity is limited. Congregating information resourcefully in perilous situations in the sensor network for a large-scale area and huge time is required an effectual protocol. In this paper, we proposed a cluster-based hierarchical routing path protocol, namely SOM-PEG protocol, which is a modified PEGASIS protocol based on traditional
PEGASIS with the employment of Self Organizing Map (SOM) neural network (NN). The simulation is performed on MATLAB simulation tool as well as NN GUI. The performance comparison shows that the proposed protocol provides better network lifetime and ensures less energy consumption compared with
traditional PEGASIS protocol.

A Study on the Effective Teaching Learning Process in English Curriculum at t...ijtsrd
“One Language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way” Frank Smith English as a foreign language or as a second language has been ruling in India since the period of Lord Macaulay. But the question is how much we teach or learn English properly in our culture. Is there any scope to use English as a language rather than a subject How much we learn or teach English without any interference of mother language specially in the classroom teaching learning scenario in West Bengal By considering all these issues the researcher has attempted in this article to focus on the effective teaching learning process comparing to other traditional strategies in the field of English curriculum at the secondary level to investigate whether they fulfill the present teaching learning requirements or not by examining the validity of the present curriculum of English. The purpose of this study is to focus on the effectiveness of the systematic, scientific, sequential and logical transaction of the course between the teachers and the learners in the perspective of the 5Es programme that is engage, explore, explain, extend and evaluate. The Role of Mentoring and Its Influence on the Effectiveness of the Teaching ...ijtsrd
This paper reports on a study which was conducted to investigate the role of mentoring and its influence on the effectiveness of the teaching of Physics in secondary schools in the South West Region of Cameroon. The study adopted the convergent parallel mixed methods design, focusing on respondents in secondary schools in the South West Region of Cameroon. Both quantitative and qualitative data were collected, analysed separately, and the results were compared to see if the findings confirm or disconfirm each other. The quantitative analysis found that majority of the respondents 72 of Physics teachers affirmed that they had more experienced colleagues as mentors to help build their confidence, improve their teaching, and help them improve their effectiveness and efficiency in guiding learners’ achievements. Only 28 of the respondents disagreed with these statements. With majority respondents 72 agreeing with the statements, it implies that in most secondary schools, experienced Physics teachers act as mentors to build teachers’ confidence in teaching and improving students’ learning. The interview qualitative data analysis summarized how secondary school Principals use meetings with mentors and mentees to promote mentorship in the school milieu. This has helped strengthen teachers’ classroom practices in secondary schools in the South West Region of Cameroon. With the results confirming each other, the study recommends that mentoring should focus on helping teachers employ social interactions and instructional practices feedback and clarity in teaching that have direct measurable impact on students’ learning achievements. Design Simulation and Hardware Construction of an Arduino Microcontroller Bas...ijtsrd
This study primarily focuses on the design of a high side buck converter using an Arduino microcontroller. The converter is specifically intended for use in DC DC applications, particularly in standalone solar PV systems where the PV output voltage exceeds the load or battery voltage. To evaluate the performance of the converter, simulation experiments are conducted using Proteus Software. These simulations provide insights into the input and output voltages, currents, powers, and efficiency under different state of charge SoC conditions of a 12V,70Ah rechargeable lead acid battery. Additionally, the hardware design of the converter is implemented, and practical data is collected through operation, monitoring, and recording. By comparing the simulation results with the practical results, the efficiency and performance of the designed converter are assessed. The findings indicate that while the buck converter is suitable for practical use in standalone PV systems, its efficiency is compromised due to a lower output current. Sustainable Energy by Paul A. Adekunte | Matthew N. O. Sadiku | Janet O. Sadikuijtsrd
Energy becomes sustainable if it meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Some of the definitions of sustainable energy include the considerations of environmental aspects such as greenhouse gas emissions, social, and economic aspects such as energy poverty. Generally far more sustainable than fossil fuel are renewable energy sources such as wind, hydroelectric power, solar, and geothermal energy sources. Worthy of note is that some renewable energy projects, like the clearing of forests to produce biofuels, can cause severe environmental damage. The sustainability of nuclear power which is a low carbon source is highly debated because of concerns about radioactive waste, nuclear proliferation, and accidents. The switching from coal to natural gas has environmental benefits, including a lower climate impact, but could lead to delay in switching to more sustainable options. “Carbon capture and storage” can be built into power plants to remove the carbon dioxide CO2 emissions, but this technology is expensive and has rarely been implemented. Leading non renewable energy sources around the world is fossil fuels, coal, petroleum, and natural gas. Nuclear energy is usually considered another non renewable energy source, although nuclear energy itself is a renewable energy source, but the material used in nuclear power plants is not. The paper addresses the issue of sustainable energy, its attendant benefits to the future generation, and humanity in general. Paul A. Adekunte | Matthew N. O. Sadiku | Janet O. Concepts for Sudan Survey Act Implementations Executive Regulations and Stand...ijtsrd
This paper aims to outline the executive regulations, survey standards, and specifications required for the implementation of the Sudan Survey Act, and for regulating and organizing all surveying work activities in Sudan. The act has been discussed for more than 5 years. The Land Survey Act was initiated by the Sudan Survey Authority and all official legislations were headed by the Sudan Ministry of Justice till it was issued in 2022. The paper presents conceptual guidelines to be used for the Survey Act implementation and to regulate the survey work practice, standardizing the field surveys, processing, quality control, procedures, and the processes related to survey work carried out by the stakeholders and relevant authorities in Sudan. The conceptual guidelines are meant to improve the quality and harmonization of geospatial data and to aid decision making processes as well as geospatial information systems. The established comprehensive executive regulations will govern and regulate the implementation of the Sudan Survey Geomatics Act in all surveying and mapping practices undertaken by the Sudan Survey Authority SSA and state local survey departments for public or private sector organizations. The targeted standards and specifications include the reference frame, projection, coordinate systems, and the guidelines and specifications that must be followed in the field of survey work, processes, and mapping products. In the last few decades, there has been a growing awareness of the importance of geomatics activities and measurements on the Earths surface in space and time, together with observing and mapping the changes. In such cases, data must be captured promptly, standardized, and obtained with more accuracy and specified in much detail. The paper will also highlight the current situation in Sudan, the degree to which survey standards are used, the problems encountered, and the errors that arise from not using the standards and survey specifications. Towards the Implementation of the Sudan Interpolated Geoid Model Khartoum Sta...ijtsrd
The discussions between ellipsoid and geoid have invoked many researchers during the recent decades, especially during the GNSS technology era, which had witnessed a great deal of development but still geoid undulation requires more investigations. To figure out a solution for Sudans local geoid, this research has tried to intake the possibility of determining the geoid model by following two approaches, gravimetric and geometrical geoid model determination, by making use of GNSS leveling benchmarks at Khartoum state. The Benchmarks are well distributed in the study area, in which, the horizontal coordinates and the height above the ellipsoid have been observed by GNSS while orthometric heights were carried out using precise leveling. The Global Geopotential Model GGM represented in EGM2008 has been exploited to figure out the geoid undulation at the benchmarks in the study area. This is followed by a fitting process, that has been done to suit the geoid undulation data which has been computed using GNSS leveling data and geoid undulation inspired by the EGM2008. Two geoid surfaces were created after the fitting process to ensure that they are identical and both of them could be counted for getting the same geoid undulation with an acceptable accuracy. In this respect, statistical operation played an important role in ensuring the consistency and integrity of the model by applying cross validation techniques splitting the data into training and testing datasets for building the geoid model and testing its eligibility. The geometrical solution for geoid undulation computation has been utilized by applying straightforward equations that facilitate the calculation of the geoid undulation directly through applying statistical techniques for the GNSS leveling data of the study area to get the common equation parameters values that could be utilized to calculate geoid undulation of any position in the study area within the claimed accuracy. Both systems were checked and proved eligible to be used within the study area with acceptable accuracy which may contribute to solving the geoid undulation problem in the Khartoum area, and be further generalized to determine the geoid model over the entire country, and this could be considered in the future, for regional and continental geoid model. To retrieve the sensing data in real time, one may use a
wireless module to forward those data to a gateway or

In 2016 [5], Time-synchronized channel hopping (TSCH) is
currently the most efficient solution for collision-free,
interference avoiding communications in ad hoc wireless
networks, such as wireless sensor networks, vehicular
networks, and networks of robots or drones. However, all
variants of TSCH require some form of centralized
coordination to maintain the time-frequency slotting
mechanism. This leads to slow convergence to steady state
and moderate time-frequency slot utilization, especially
under node churn or mobility. We propose decentralized
time synchronized channel swapping (DT-SCS), a novel
protocol for medium access control(MAC)inadhocwireless
networks. Under the proposed protocol,nodesfirstconverge

is how to handle with their limited energy resources. The
performance of Wireless Sensor Networksstronglydepends

sensor nodes and sensor reading. This paper presents anew
centralized adaptive Energy Based Clustering protocol
through the application of Self organizing map neural
networks (called EBC-S) which can cluster sensor nodes,
based on multi parameters; energy level and coordinates of
sensor nodes. We applied some maximum energy nodes as
weights of SOM map units; so that the nodes with higher
energy attract the nearest nodes with lower energy levels.
Therefore, formed clusters may not necessarily contain

environmental monitoring based on the IEEE 802.15.4

that achieves the target while avoiding complex and
computationally expensive solutions, which would not be
appropriate for the problem at hand and would impair the
practical applicability of the approach in real scenarios. The
results of several real test-bed scenarios show that the
proposed system outperforms other solutions, significantly

III. DISCUSSION
Complex networks are a widespread tool for themodelingof
complex systems, they are used in many domains, including
biology, communication, sociology, physics, economy, etc.
[1]. In the recent years, a whole arsenal of measures was
defined to study them. More interestingly for us, they have
been intensively used to study computer networks,
especially the Internet. Various methods were used to
retrieve the Internet structure, focusing on different
granularities such as the inter-domain[2-5] androuter[4, 5]
levels. Using such a topological approach to study computer
networks leads to a better understanding of the network
structure, which in turn brings multiple benefits. First,
improving the models used to provide simulation data,
resulting in more realistic testing conditions [3, 5, 6]. All the
tools specifically developed for thenetwork can therefore be
assessed more accurately. Moreover, it is also possible to
consider the network structure from a dynamic perspective.
By studying the evolution of the topology, one can derive
predictive models [7].Abetterunderstandingof thenetwork
structure also allows designingbettermanagementmethods
and tools [6]. Finally, by taking advantage of this knowledge,
tone can improve communication protocols by adapting
them to the network structure [2, 3]. Stemmingfromthefact
that WSNs belong to the class of computer networks, such a
topological approach seems relevant to improve the tools
and technologies related to them. Several works already
applied complex network research tools to WSNs to better
understand their dynamics and enhance their performance
[8, 9]. Moreover, in the case of WSNs, topological measures
are particularly interesting because they allow comparing
one network at different time steps, or several distinct
networks. This makes possible assessing the effect of the
deployment (spatial distribution, number of sinks, etc.) and
operational (communication protocol, type of sensor, etc.)
parameters on WSN-specific features, such as the network
life time. However, from the topological point of view, WSNs
may present considerable differences from mainstream
computer networks, particularlytheInternet:their temporal
scale is much smaller, they shrink instead of growing, and
they are structured around certain nodes with specific
properties, i.e. the sinks. For this reason, topological
measures for the assessment of WSNs have to be chosen
with care, as the classical measures may not be directly
applicable. In this article, we try to answer this question by
reviewing the main measures used in previous works to
study the Internet, and discussing their suitability to the
analysis of WSNs. For the cases where the studied measure
turns out to be inappropriate, we define alternatives and
explain the intuition behind them.
IV. CONCLUSION AND FUTURE WORKS
In this article, we described the different tools one can use to
analyze the topology of WSNs. Our contribution is three-fold.
First, we performed a review of the most popular measures
used in existing studies regardingthe Internet. We discussed
their appropriateness to the study of WSNs, and pointed out
their limitations in this context. Second, we defined new,
WSN-specific measures aiming at solving these limitations,
and explained how they could be used. Finally, we simulated
some WSN activity thanks to NS2 in order to illustrate the
relevance of both retained classic measures and newly
proposed ones. Taking advantage of this data, we explained
how their values can be interpreted to characterize the
evolution of a WSN. We focused on five classes of measures.
For those relative to the network size, we proposed to
distinguish the live part of the WSN from the disconnected
sensors. We showed how one could use the existing degree-
based measures to identify critical points in the evolution of
WSNs, which are characterized by a verydynamicnature. We
introduced the notion of sink-distance, in order to adapt the
existing distance-based measures (diameter, average
distance, distance distribution, etc.) to WSNs. We definedthe
related notion of sink-between’s in order to extend the
centrality-based measures traditionally used to study the
Internet. Finally, we applied transitivity-based measures to
highlight a very uncommon trait of the studied WSN: its
transitivity stays constant despite the fact it never stops
losing nodes and links during the simulation. This work can
be extended in several ways. First, for space matters, we
could not be exhaustive regarding the reviewed topological
properties. For instance, other centrality measures exist and
are used to characterize computer networks [4]. More
importantly, we had to ignore the macroscopic structure of
the network, which is nevertheless of great interest. It can be
studied by considering the presence of strongly connected
components (i.e. maximal sub graphs in which all nodes are
interconnected through directed paths) or communities.
Finally we did not consider the transitivity (a.k.a. clustering
coefficient), which is also a very important topological
measure. Another interesting aspect concerns the measures
we defined. As we stated before, although informative,
traditional measures are not always relevant to study WSNs,
due to their specificfeatures,whichiswhyweintroducedour
own ones. Consequently, these could be applied to networks
representingdifferentreal-worldsystems,providedthoseare
similar enough to WSNs. Let us consider, for instance, an
egocentric social network. It is extracted by selecting first a
person of interestas the center of thenetwork, andaddingits
direct and indirect acquaintances, until some radius limit is
reached. In this context, the sink-distance and sink-between
would be of great interest to characterize acquaintances
relatively to the person of interest.
