Abstract:
Enormous increases in energy consumption, its costs, and significant challenges posed by climate change have inevitably drawn the world’s attention towards the upgradation of energy efficiency and sustainability of buildings. Building Information Modelling (BIM) has been identified as an effective tool used for energy performance analysis of buildings virtually in the design stage. Applying passive techniques provides a promising and cost-efficient solution to reducing the operational energy demand and decreasing environmental impacts during the lifecycle of the building. This study aims to reduce operational energy consumption in buildings by optimizing different passive parameters. For this purpose, 3D modelling of a residential building and a commercial building is performed using Autodesk Revit and energy analysis is performed using Autodesk Insight. In this paper, various passive techniques like Building orientation, Window-Wall Ratio (WWR), Window Shades and Glass types, Wall and Roof construction, with BIM are assessed to investigate the efficient passive cooling measures on residential and commercial buildings according to climatic conditions of New Delhi, India. The results indicate that the annual operational energy consumption can be reduced to 17.4% in residential building and 16% in commercial building by incorporating passive techniques. The findings will be helpful in passive building design and development in India and contribute to further energy reduction and optimization to realize both energy efficiency and favourable building environments and thermal comfort of the occupants.

Abstract:
This research investigates the effectiveness of building performance analysis techniques in reducing the urban heat island effect in different climate zones of India. The study will focus on using Building Information Modelling (BIM) as a tool to model the thermal performance of buildings and evaluate different strategies for reducing heat gain and improving energy efficiency in buildings. The research will also assess the compliance of the proposed strategies with ICAP (India Cooling Action Plan) goals and EGBC (Energy and Green Building Council) regulations.
The study will be carried out in multiple cities in different climate zones in India and will involve the development of BIM models of typical building types in each city. The models will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of different passive and active cooling strategies, such as shading devices, green roofs, and high-performance glazing. The study will also investigate the impact of these strategies on indoor thermal comfort and energy consumption.
The research will provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of building performance analysis in mitigating urban heat island in different climate zones in India. The results of the study will be useful for architects, engineers, and policymakers in developing sustainable building design strategies that comply with ICAP goals and EGBC regulations and can help reduce the impact of urban heat island on the environment and public health.

An integrated tool is at an early stage of development to optimize the building energy performance to be expressed in terms of total energy use. technology in an integrated manner at the early design stage itself to assist the delivering of sustainable
green buildings with a high rating of performance and energy consumption. Building simulation enables
designer to identify the key energy loads, test their strategies and compare permutation of design strategy
in order to optimize the energy consumption.
Design Builder (DB) software is used to carry out a series of sensitivity analysis on set of design
parameters, with an aim to achieve a comfortable and energy efficient building. Several parametric studies
have been conducted to enable building designers to carry out analysis of energy efficient building model
related to building orientation, construction, air infiltration, natural ventilation, window type, openings,
and lighting. To calculate the energy saving, basic condition of building model is compared with Energy
Conservation Building Code (ECBC) building model. Consider basic condition of building is case A and
condition of building according to ECBC is case B.

This study examines the effect of response reduction factors (R factors) on reinforced concrete (RC) framed structures through nonlinear dynamic analysis. Three RC frame models with varying heights (4, 8, and 12 stories) were analyzed in ETABS software under different R factors ranging from 1 to 5. The results showed that displacement increased as the R factor decreased, indicating less linear behavior for lower R factors. Drift also decreased proportionally with increasing R factors from 1 to 5. Shear forces in the frames decreased with higher R factors. In general, R factors of 3 to 5 produced more satisfactory performance with less displacement and drift. Abstract:
This research investigates the effectiveness of building performance analysis techniques in reducing the urban heat island effect in different climate zones of India. The study will focus on using Building Information Modelling (BIM) as a tool to model the thermal performance of buildings and evaluate different strategies for reducing heat gain and improving energy efficiency in buildings. The research will also assess the compliance of the proposed strategies with ICAP (India Cooling Action Plan) goals and EGBC (Energy and Green Building Council) regulations.
The study will be carried out in multiple cities in different climate zones in India and will involve the development of BIM models of typical building types in each city. The models will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of different passive and active cooling strategies, such as shading devices, green roofs, and high-performance glazing. The study will also investigate the impact of these strategies on indoor thermal comfort and energy consumption.
The research will provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of building performance analysis in mitigating urban heat island in different climate zones in India. The results of the study will be useful for architects, engineers, and policymakers in developing sustainable building design strategies that comply with ICAP goals and EGBC regulations and can help reduce the impact of urban heat island on the environment and public health.

This paper describes a speed control device for generating electrical energy on an electricity network based on the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) used for wind power conversion systems. At first, a double-fed induction generator model was constructed. A control law is formulated to govern the flow of energy between the stator of a DFIG and the energy network using three types of controllers: proportional integral (PI), sliding mode controller (SMC) and second order sliding mode controller (SOSMC). Their different results in terms of power reference tracking, reaction to unexpected speed fluctuations, sensitivity to perturbations, and resilience against machine parameter alterations are compared. MATLAB/Simulink was used to conduct the simulations for the preceding study. Multiple simulations have shown very satisfying results, and the investigations demonstrate the efficacy and power-enhancing capabilities of the suggested control system.

The aquaponic system of planting is a method that does not require soil usage. It is a method that only needs water, fish, lava rocks (a substitute for soil), and plants. Aquaponic systems are sustainable and environmentally friendly. Its use not only helps to plant in small spaces but also helps reduce artificial chemical use and minimizes excess water use, as aquaponics consumes 90% less water than soil-based gardening. The study applied a descriptive and experimental design to assess and compare conventional and reconstructed aquaponic methods for reproducing tomatoes. The researchers created an observation checklist to determine the significant factors of the study. The study aims to determine the significant difference between traditional aquaponics and reconstructed aquaponics systems propagating tomatoes in terms of height, weight, girth, and number of fruits. The reconstructed aquaponics system’s higher growth yield results in a much more nourished crop than the traditional aquaponics system. It is superior in its number of fruits, height, weight, and girth measurement. Moreover, the reconstructed aquaponics system is proven to eliminate all the hindrances present in the traditional aquaponics system, which are overcrowding of fish, algae growth, pest problems, contaminated water, and dead fish.
