Distributed generation (DG) sources are being installed in distribution networks worldwide due to their numerous advantages over the conventional sources which include operational and economical benefits. Random placement of DG sources in a distribution network will result in adverse effects such as increased power loss, loss of voltage stability and reliability, increase in operational costs, power quality issues etc. This paper presents a methodology to obtain the optimal location for the placement of multiple DG sources in a distribution network from a technical perspective. Optimal location is obtained by evaluating a global multi-objective technical index (MOTI) using a weighted sum method. Clonal selection based artificial immune system (AIS) is used along with optimal power flow (OPF) technique to obtain the solution. The proposed method is executed on a standard IEEE-33 bus radial distribution system. The results justify the choice of AIS and the use of MOTI in optimal siting of DG sources which improves the distribution system efficiency to a great extent in terms of reduced real and reactive power losses, improved voltage profile and voltage stability. Solutions obtained using AIS are compared with Genetic algorithm (GA) and Particle Swarm optimization (PSO) solutions for the same objective function.

Renewable energy resources (RES) are being increasingly
connected in distribution systems utilizing power electronic
converters. This paper presents a novel control strategy for
achieving maximum benefits from these grid-interfacing inverters
when installed in 3-phase 4-wire distribution systems. The inverter
is controlled to perform as a multi-function device by incorporating
active power filter functionality. The inverter can thus be
utilized as: 1) power converter to inject power generated from
RES to the grid, and 2) shunt APF to compensate current unbalance,
load current harmonics, load reactive power demand and
load neutral current. All of these functions may be accomplished
either individually or simultaneously. With such a control, the
combination of grid-interfacing inverter and the 3-phase 4-wire
linear/non-linear unbalanced load at point of common coupling
appears as balanced linear load to the grid. This new control
concept is demonstrated with extensive MATLAB/Simulink simulation

The major drivers of the quest for optimal placement of flexible alternating current transmission system (FACTS) devices are the quest for smart grids and economic indicators. The demand for energy and power stability will continue much as the astronomic growth in industries and increase in global population remains. The aim of this paper is to deliver a panoramic view of the use of static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) in combination with energy storage system (ESS) in order to enhance power stability. In this paper, it was observed that application of ESS is an important factor in attaining power stability and mitigating the effect of dynamics associated with the power supply system. This paper presents the design and analysis of a relatively new wireless power transfer technique using capacitive coupling, named Capacitive power transfer (CPT). In general, CPT system has been introduced as an attractive alternative to the former inductive coupling method. This is because CPT uses lesser number of components, simpler topology, enhanced EMI performance and better strength to surrounding metallic elements. In this work, aluminium sheet is used as a capacitive coupling at transmitter and receiver side. Moreover, a Class-E resonant inverter together with π1a impedance matching network has been proposed because of its ability to perform the dc-to-ac inversion well. It helps the CPT system to achieve maximum power transfer. The CPT system is designed and simulated by using MATLAB/Simulink software. The validity of the proposed concept is then verified by conducting a laboratory experimental of CPT system. The proposed system able to generate a 9.5W output power through a combined interface capacitance of 2.44nF, at an operating frequency of 1MHz, with 95.10% efficiency. The proposed CPT system with impedance matching network also allows load variation in the range of 20% from its nominal value while maintaining the efficiency over 90%.
Wireless power transfer to a micro implant device from outside of human bodyIJECEIAES
This paper states wireless power transfer (WPT) from an AC power supply to a micro implant device in human body. At first, an equivalent circuit of WPT which contains biomedical tissue is constructed with an AC power supply, parasitic components, load resistance, and inductances. Then a state equation which stands for the behavior of circuit is found, and the expression of efficiency is derived as the ratio of the power of power supply and load. Finally an experiment is conducted based on the theoretical calculation, and the error between experimental and calculated result is computed and examined.
The most important components of the distributed generation frameworks is the GTIs which is an interface amidst the utility and the source of energy. The recent years have seen an increased interest in the design and usage of GTIs due to its smaller weight and size, low cost and higher efficiency. But the problem of leakage currents in the transformerless inverter that is dependant on its topology and control scheme needs to be looked into carefully. Also, the high performance of the GTI requires a stringent control and various control systems are being developed and applied to the GTIs. This paper reviews the various topologies that are classified based on the attributes of the leakage current and the method of decoupling. Further it reviews and compares the different control techniques applied to the GTIs with respect to the frame of reference, controller, modulation technique and the control parameters considered.
New solutions for optimization of the electrical distribution system availabi...Mohamed Ghaieth Abidi
This paper deals with the availability in microgrids that are composed of a set of sources (Photovoltaic generators, wind turbines, diesel generators and batteries) and a set of loads (critical and uncritical loads). The energy produced by various sources will be grouped in an alternative bus (AC bus), and it will be distributed on loads through an electrical distribution system. The occurrence of a fault in the system can cause a total or partial unavailability of energy required by the loads. The objective of this paper is to characterize the fault caused by the limited reliability of the components of the electrical distribution system and to propose an new design methodology to optimize the availability of this system (as well as the availability of power supply) by taking into account all the economic constraints. The proposed methodology is based on the redundancy of electrical distribution paths. An application of this optimization to a petroleum platform shows clearly a high degree of supply availability distribution in microgrid.

This paper presents comparative performance of transient power quality due to multi photovoltaic (PV) integration to grid at both fixed temperature and solar irradiation connected using Maximum Power Point Tracking Perturb and Observe (MPPT P and O)/MPPT Fuzzy. This research is performed as five transient of short-circuit faults on point common coupling (PCC) bus. An artificial intelligence with fuzzy logic controller (FLC) is used to set duty cycle with step variable to control DC/DC boost converter, generate quick convergence to determine MPPT for controlling of PV output voltage. Furthermore the result is compared with MPPT P and O. During transient phase, non-symmetrical faults are able to result an unbalance current/voltage greater than symmetrical faults. On symmetrical faults, MPPT Fuzzy is able to resultan average THD voltage/THD current smaller than MPPT P and O. Otherwise on non-symmetrical faults, MPPT P and O is able to resultan average THD voltage/THD current slightly smaller than MPPT Fuzzy. Both of MPPT P and O and MPPT Fuzzy on all short circuit faults during transient phase are able to result significantly smaller current average THD current than average THD voltage and limits of THD prescribed in IEEE 519. This research is simulated using Matlab/Simulink environment.

Grid Connected PV System with Power Quality Improvement Using Intelligent Con...IJMTST Journal
The depletion of the fossil fuel resources and the global warming effects has led the world to think
seriously of other alternative sources of energy. So renewable energy resources (RES) are being connected to
the distribution systems, mostly done by using power electronic converters. But use of power electronic
converters and non-linear loads like at distribution level injects harmonics, which intern cause power quality

nonlinear and unbalanced loads. Any change in the load affects the DC-link voltage (DCLV) directly.
Conventionally, a PI controller is used to maintain the DCLV to the reference value, but its transient response
is poor. So, fuzzy logic controller is proposed which shows better dynamic response. To trigger inverter HCC

Fuzzy logic control of hybrid systems including renewable energy in microgrids IJECEIAES
With a growing demand for more energy from subscribers, a traditional electric grid is unable to meet new challenges, in the remote areas remains the extension of the conventional electric network very hard to do make prohibitively expensive. Therefore, a new advanced generation of traditional electrical is inevitable and indispensable to move toward an effective, economical, green, clean and self-correcting power system. The most well-known term used to define this next generation power system is micro grid (MG) based on renewable energy sources (RES). Since, the energy produced by RES are not constant at all times, a wide range of energy control techniques must be involved to provide a reliable power to consumers. To solve this problem in this paper we present a fuzzy logic control of isolated hybrid systems (HRES) including renewable energy in micro-grids to maintain a stability in voltage and frequency output especially in the standalone application. The considered HRES combine a wind turbine (WT) and photovoltaic (PV) panels as primary energy sources and an energy storage system (ESS) based on battery as a backup solution. Simulation results obtained from MATLAB/Simulink environment demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in decreasing the electricity bill of customer.

The wi-fi energy transfer (WPT) is an emerging era with increasingly more ability packages to transfer energy from a transmitter to a cellular receiver over a noticeably huge air gap. but, its extensive utility is hampered due to the relatively low performance of modern wireless power switch (WPT) structures. This study gives an idea to maximize the performance in addition to to increase the quantity of extractable electricity of a WPT system operating in resonant operation. The proposed method is primarily based on actively modifying the equal secondary-side load impedance by controlling the section-shift of the active rectifier and its output voltage degree. The offered hardware prototype represents an entire wireless charging machine, consisting of a dc–dc converter that is used to price a battery at the output of the system. Experimental results are shown for the proposed concept in comparison to a traditional synchronous rectification approach. The supplied optimization technique sincerely outperforms trendy solutions in phrases of efficiency and extractable power.
Today we live in a fast changing world. In present modern era power is very important role in our live system. The purpose of this paper practically implement concept of power transmission without wire. Wireless Power Transmission through inductive coupling is one of the new emerging technologies that will bring tremendous change in human life. Wireless power transfer is one of the simplest and inexpensive ways of charging as it eliminate the use of conventional copper cables and current carrying wires. Using inductive coupling concept an alternating current in transmitter coil generates a magnetic field which induces a voltage in the receiver coil.
This voltage can be used to power a mobile device or charge a battery etc. Mrs. Jothy Mary Saji "Review Paper on Wireless Power Transfer" Published in International Journal of Trend in Scientific Research and Development (ijtsrd), ISSN: 2456-6470, Volume-7 | Issue-4, August 2023, URL: https://www.ijtsrd.com/papers/ijtsrd58616.pdf Paper Url:https://www.ijtsrd.com/engineering/electronics-and-communication-engineering/58616/review-paper-on-wireless-power-transfer/mrs-jothy-mary-saji
WIRELESS POWER TRANSFER - A TECHNOLOGY THAT HAS COME OF AGEIAEME Publication
Wireless power transfer has its roots in Tesla’s experiments and his proposition that electric power can be transferred not only by means of radiation, but also by means of induction and resonant coupling. Recent trends in the development of this technology are addressed. Also the basic mathematical ideas that help us understand the various parameters and issues for optimization of power transfer are given. The power in a given load in case of two coils is compared with that obtained in a modified set up consisting of three coils and it is shown that by proper choice of coupling coefficients, one might improvise the existing methods.

Wireless power transfer (WPT) system has got significant attention in recent years due to its applications in consumer electronics, medical implants and electric vehicles etc. WPT is a promising choice in situations, where the physical connectors can be unreliable and susceptible to failure. The efficiency of WPT system decreasing rapidly with increasing air-gap. Many circuit topologies have been employed to enhance the efficiency of the WPT system. This paper presents the modelling and performance analysis of resonant wireless power transfer (RWPT) system using series-parallel-mixed topology. The power transfer efficiency analysis of the model is investigated via circuit theory. S-parameters have been used for measuring power transfer efficiency. Transient analysis is performed to realize the behavior of voltage and current waveforms using advanced design system (ADS) software. The proposed model is tested with two amplitudes i.e. 100 V peak-to-peak and 110 V peak-to-peak at the same frequency of 365.1 kHz. The overall result shows that the series-parallel-mixed topology model has higher efficiency at low coupling factor (K) for both voltage amplitudes.
Development of Wireless Power Transfer using Capacitive Method for Mouse Char...IJPEDS-IAES
Wireless power transfer (WPT) is a non-contact power transfer within a
distance. With the advantage of not-contact concept, WPT enhances the
flexibility movement of the devices. Basically, there are three types of the
WPT which are inductive power transfer (IPT), capacitive power transfer
(CPT) and acoustic power transfer (APT). Among these, capacitive power
transfer (CPT) has the advantages of confining electric field between coupled
plates, metal penetration ability and also the simplicity in circuit topologies.
Therefore, we focus on the capacitive method in this paper. To be specific,
this paper aims to develop a wireless mouse charging system using capacitive
based method. This method enables wireless power transmission from mouse
pad to a wireless mouse. Hence, no battery requires to power up the mouse.
In this paper, a high efficiency Class-E converter is described in details to
convert the DC source to AC and the compensation circuit of resonant tank is
also proposed at the transmitter side in order to improve the efficiency. In the
end, a prototype is developed to prove the developed method. The
performances analysis of the developed prototype is discussed and the future
recommendation of this technique is also presented.
Wireless power transfer using multiple-transmitters for high stability for p...IJECEIAES
The aim of this study is to optimize the system in the wireless power supply using multiple transmitters by algebraically analyzing the effects of both a circuit parameter and an axis displacement, etc. In addition to these analyses, the other aim is designing, producing and evaluating wireless charger with high stability for position. In the proposed method, we analyzed the situation in which three transmitters are used as power sources. It is turned out that the optimum arrangement of three transmitters is equilateral triangular from Biot-Savart law and circuit equation. In the experiment, transmitted power is measured when the receiver is moved on the vertical plane in regard to central axis of coils. It is confirmed that 4~4.5mW is transmitted at the face-to-face of transmitters and 2.4mW is transmitted at the center of transmitters.

Energy Splitting for SWIPT in QoS-constraint MTC Network: A Non-Cooperative G...IJCNCJournal
This paper studies the emerging wireless energy harvesting algorithm dedicated for machine type communication (MTC) in a typical cellular network where one transmitter (e.g. the base station, a hybrid access point) with constant power supply communicates with a set of users (e.g. wearable devices, sensors). In the downlink direction, the information transmission and power transfer are conducted simultaneously by the base station. Since MTC only transmits several bits control signal in the downlink direction, the received signal power can be split into two parts at the receiver side. One is used for information decoding and the other part is used for energy harvesting. Since we assume that the users are without power supply or battery, the uplink transmission power is totally from the energy harvesting. Then, the users are able to transmit their measured or collected data to the base station in the uplink direction. Game theory is used in this paper to exploit the optimal ratio for energy harvesting of each user since power splitting scheme is adopted. The results show that this proposed algorithm is capable of modifying dynamically to achieve the prescribed target downlink decoding signal-to-noise plus interference ratio (SINR) which ensures the high reliability of MTC while maximizing the uplink throughput.
Wireless power transmission (WPT) has attracted a wide variety of subjects in various disciplines and has also become a highly active research field due to its capacity to facilitate charging systems. Wireless power transmission will be compulsory to use soon as this technology enables electrical energy to be transmitted from a power source to an electrical load over an air gap without connecting wires. Wireless power transmission has been developed in the low power (1W to 10W) and high power (100W-500W) region. While the low power region development focuses on powering medical transplants and mobile charging, the higher end of the power spectrum is being developed for the electric vehicle (EV) applications. However medium power range (10W to 100W) is relatively unexplored due to lack of proper applications. The commercial WPT scheme is mainly used for the charging of lithium-ion batteries. Sensitive medium power loads like Lithium Polymer (LiPo) batteries do not have a wireless modular charging system. This paper discusses a proposed scheme for wireless charging of medium-range loads. LiPo batteries are used as the targeted charging load. A minimalistic approach has been considered while designing the electronics for efficiency improvement and a compact, modular scheme. The proposed scheme has been developed for drone and robotics applications and the results are validated.

Voltage and frequency control of microgrid in presence of micro-turbine inter...IJECEIAES
The active and reactive load changes have a significant impact on voltage
and frequency. In this paper, in order to stabilize the microgrid (MG) against
load variations in islanding mode, the active and reactive power of all
distributed generators (DGs), including energy storage (battery), diesel
generator, and micro-turbine, are controlled. The micro-turbine generator is
connected to MG through a three-phase to three-phase matrix converter, and
the droop control method is applied for controlling the voltage and
frequency of MG. In addition, a method is introduced for voltage and
frequency control of micro-turbines in the transition state from gridconnected mode to islanding mode. A novel switching strategy of the matrix
converter is used for converting the high-frequency output voltage of the
micro-turbine to the grid-side frequency of the utility system. Moreover,
using the switching strategy, the low-order harmonics in the output current
and voltage are not produced, and consequently, the size of the output filter
would be reduced. In fact, the suggested control strategy is load-independent
and has no frequency conversion restrictions. The proposed approach for
voltage and frequency regulation demonstrates exceptional performance and
favorable response across various load alteration scenarios. The suggested
strategy is examined in several scenarios in the MG test systems, and the
simulation results are addressed.

Smart grid deployment: from a bibliometric analysis to a surveyIJECEIAES
Smart grids are one of the last decades' innovations in electrical energy.
They bring relevant advantages compared to the traditional grid and
significant interest from the research community. Assessing the field's
evolution is essential to propose guidelines for facing new and future smart
grid challenges. In addition, knowing the main technologies involved in the
deployment of smart grids (SGs) is important to highlight possible
shortcomings that can be mitigated by developing new tools. This paper
contributes to the research trends mentioned above by focusing on two
objectives. First, a bibliometric analysis is presented to give an overview of
the current research level about smart grid deployment. Second, a survey of
the main technological approaches used for smart grid implementation and
their contributions are highlighted. To that effect, we searched the Web of
Science (WoS), and the Scopus databases. We obtained 5,663 documents
from WoS and 7,215 from Scopus on smart grid implementation or
deployment. With the extraction limitation in the Scopus database, 5,872 of
the 7,215 documents were extracted using a multi-step process. These two
datasets have been analyzed using a bibliometric tool called bibliometrix.
The main outputs are presented with some recommendations for future

Use of analytical hierarchy process for selecting and prioritizing islanding ...IJECEIAES
One of the problems that are associated to power systems is islanding
condition, which must be rapidly and properly detected to prevent any
negative consequences on the system's protection, stability, and security.
This paper offers a thorough overview of several islanding detection
strategies, which are divided into two categories: classic approaches,
including local and remote approaches, and modern techniques, including
techniques based on signal processing and computational intelligence.
Additionally, each approach is compared and assessed based on several
factors, including implementation costs, non-detected zones, declining
power quality, and response times using the analytical hierarchy process
(AHP). The multi-criteria decision-making analysis shows that the overall
weight of passive methods (24.7%), active methods (7.8%), hybrid methods
(5.6%), remote methods (14.5%), signal processing-based methods (26.6%),
and computational intelligent-based methods (20.8%) based on the
comparison of all criteria together. Thus, it can be seen from the total weight
that hybrid approaches are the least suitable to be chosen, while signal
processing-based methods are the most appropriate islanding detection
method to be selected and implemented in power system with respect to the
aforementioned factors. Using Expert Choice software, the proposed
hierarchy model is studied and examined.

The power generated by photovoltaic (PV) systems is influenced by
environmental factors. This variability hampers the control and utilization of
solar cells' peak output. In this study, a single-stage grid-connected PV
system is designed to enhance power quality. Our approach employs fuzzy
logic in the direct power control (DPC) of a three-phase voltage source
inverter (VSI), enabling seamless integration of the PV connected to the
grid. Additionally, a fuzzy logic-based maximum power point tracking
(MPPT) controller is adopted, which outperforms traditional methods like
incremental conductance (INC) in enhancing solar cell efficiency and
minimizing the response time. Moreover, the inverter's real-time active and
reactive power is directly managed to achieve a unity power factor (UPF).
The system's performance is assessed through MATLAB/Simulink
implementation, showing marked improvement over conventional methods,
particularly in steady-state and varying weather conditions. For solar
irradiances of 500 and 1,000 W/m2
, the results show that the proposed
method reduces the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the injected current
to the grid by approximately 46% and 38% compared to conventional
methods, respectively. Furthermore, we compare the simulation results with
IEEE standards to evaluate the system's grid compatibility.
Enhancing photovoltaic system maximum power point tracking with fuzzy logic-b...IJECEIAES
Photovoltaic systems have emerged as a promising energy resource that
caters to the future needs of society, owing to their renewable, inexhaustible,
and cost-free nature. The power output of these systems relies on solar cell
radiation and temperature. In order to mitigate the dependence on
atmospheric conditions and enhance power tracking, a conventional
approach has been improved by integrating various methods. To optimize
the generation of electricity from solar systems, the maximum power point
tracking (MPPT) technique is employed. To overcome limitations such as
steady-state voltage oscillations and improve transient response, two
traditional MPPT methods, namely fuzzy logic controller (FLC) and perturb

simulate and validate the step size of the proposed modified P&O and FLC
techniques within the MPPT algorithm using MATLAB/Simulink for
efficient power tracking in photovoltaic systems.
Adaptive synchronous sliding control for a robot manipulator based on neural ...IJECEIAES
Robot manipulators have become important equipment in production lines, medical fields, and transportation. Improving the quality of trajectory tracking for
robot hands is always an attractive topic in the research community. This is a
challenging problem because robot manipulators are complex nonlinear systems
and are often subject to fluctuations in loads and external disturbances. This
article proposes an adaptive synchronous sliding control scheme to improve trajectory tracking performance for a robot manipulator. The proposed controller
ensures that the positions of the joints track the desired trajectory, synchronize
the errors, and significantly reduces chattering. First, the synchronous tracking
errors and synchronous sliding surfaces are presented. Second, the synchronous
tracking error dynamics are determined. Third, a robust adaptive control law is
designed, the unknown components of the model are estimated online by the neural network, and the parameters of the switching elements are selected by fuzzy
logic. The built algorithm ensures that the tracking and approximation errors
are ultimately uniformly bounded (UUB). Finally, the effectiveness of the constructed algorithm is demonstrated through simulation and experimental results.
Simulation and experimental results show that the proposed controller is effective with small synchronous tracking errors, and the chattering phenomenon is
significantly reduced.

A remote laboratory utilizing field-programmable gate array (FPGA) technologies enhances students’ learning experience anywhere and anytime in embedded system design. Existing remote laboratories prioritize hardware access and visual feedback for observing board behavior after programming, neglecting comprehensive debugging tools to resolve errors that require internal signal acquisition. This paper proposes a novel remote embeddedsystem design approach targeting FPGA technologies that are fully interactive via a web-based platform. Our solution provides FPGA board access and debugging capabilities beyond the visual feedback provided by existing remote laboratories. We implemented a lab module that allows users to seamlessly incorporate into their FPGA design. The module minimizes hardware resource utilization while enabling the acquisition of a large number of data samples from the signal during the experiments by adaptively compressing the signal prior to data transmission. The results demonstrate an average compression ratio of 2.90 across three benchmark signals, indicating efficient signal acquisition and effective debugging and analysis. This method allows users to acquire more data samples than conventional methods. The proposed lab allows students to remotely test and debug their designs, bridging the gap between theory and practice in embedded system design.

Rapidly and remotely monitoring and receiving the solar cell systems status parameters, solar irradiance, temperature, and humidity, are critical issues in enhancement their efficiency. Hence, in the present article an improved smart prototype of internet of things (IoT) technique based on embedded system through NodeMCU ESP8266 (ESP-12E) was carried out experimentally. Three different regions at Egypt; Luxor, Cairo, and El-Beheira cities were chosen to study their solar irradiance profile, temperature, and humidity by the proposed IoT system. The monitoring data of solar irradiance, temperature, and humidity were live visualized directly by Ubidots through hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) protocol. The measured solar power radiation in Luxor, Cairo, and El-Beheira ranged between 216-1000, 245-958, and 187-692 W/m 2 respectively during the solar day. The accuracy and rapidity of obtaining monitoring results using the proposed IoT system made it a strong candidate for application in monitoring solar cell systems. On the other hand, the obtained solar power radiation results of the three considered regions strongly candidate Luxor and Cairo as suitable places to build up a solar cells system station rather than El-Beheira.
An efficient security framework for intrusion detection and prevention in int...IJECEIAES
Over the past few years, the internet of things (IoT) has advanced to connect billions of smart devices to improve quality of life. However, anomalies or malicious intrusions pose several security loopholes, leading to performance degradation and threat to data security in IoT operations. Thereby, IoT security systems must keep an eye on and restrict unwanted events from occurring in the IoT network. Recently, various technical solutions based on machine learning (ML) models have been derived towards identifying and restricting unwanted events in IoT. However, most ML-based approaches are prone to miss-classification due to inappropriate feature selection. Additionally, most ML approaches applied to intrusion detection and prevention consider supervised learning, which requires a large amount of labeled data to be trained. Consequently, such complex datasets are impossible to source in a large network like IoT. To address this problem, this proposed study introduces an efficient learning mechanism to strengthen the IoT security aspects. The proposed algorithm incorporates supervised and unsupervised approaches to improve the learning models for intrusion detection and mitigation. Compared with the related works, the experimental outcome shows that the model performs well in a benchmark dataset. It accomplishes an improved detection accuracy of approximately 99.21%.

The internet of things (IoT) is a revolutionary innovation in many aspects of our society including interactions, financial activity, and global security such as the military and battlefield internet. Due to the limited energy and processing capacity of network devices, security, energy consumption, compatibility, and device heterogeneity are the long-term IoT problems. As a result, energy and security are critical for data transmission across edge and IoT networks. Existing IoT interoperability techniques need more computation time, have unreliable authentication mechanisms that break easily, lose data easily, and have low confidentiality. In this paper, a key agreement protocol-based authentication mechanism for IoT devices is offered as a solution to this issue. This system makes use of information exchange, which must be secured to prevent access by unauthorized users. Using a compact contiki/cooja simulator, the performance and design of the suggested framework are validated. The simulation findings are evaluated based on detection of malicious nodes after 60 minutes of simulation. The suggested trust method, which is based on privacy access control, reduced packet loss ratio to 0.32%, consumed 0.39% power, and had the greatest average residual energy of 0.99 mJoules at 10 nodes.
Fuzzy linear programming with the intuitionistic polygonal fuzzy numbersIJECEIAES
In real world applications, data are subject to ambiguity due to several factors; fuzzy sets and fuzzy numbers propose a great tool to model such ambiguity. In case of hesitation, the complement of a membership value in fuzzy numbers can be different from the non-membership value, in which case we can model using intuitionistic fuzzy numbers as they provide flexibility by defining both a membership and a non-membership functions. In this article, we consider the intuitionistic fuzzy linear programming problem with intuitionistic polygonal fuzzy numbers, which is a generalization of the previous polygonal fuzzy numbers found in the literature. We present a modification of the simplex method that can be used to solve any general intuitionistic fuzzy linear programming problem after approximating the problem by an intuitionistic polygonal fuzzy number with n edges. This method is given in a simple tableau formulation, and then applied on numerical examples for clarity.

Seizure stage detection of epileptic seizure using convolutional neural networksIJECEIAES
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), seventy million individuals worldwide suffer from epilepsy, a neurological disorder. While electroencephalography (EEG) is crucial for diagnosing epilepsy and monitoring the brain activity of epilepsy patients, it requires a specialist to examine all EEG recordings to find epileptic behavior. This procedure needs an experienced doctor, and a precise epilepsy diagnosis is crucial for appropriate treatment. To identify epileptic seizures, this study employed a convolutional neural network (CNN) based on raw scalp EEG signals to discriminate between preictal, ictal, postictal, and interictal segments. The possibility of these characteristics is explored by examining how well timedomain signals work in the detection of epileptic signals using intracranial Freiburg Hospital (FH), scalp Children's Hospital Boston-Massachusetts Institute of Technology (CHB-MIT) databases, and Temple University Hospital (TUH) EEG. To test the viability of this approach, two types of experiments were carried out. Firstly, binary class classification (preictal, ictal, postictal each versus interictal) and four-class classification (interictal versus preictal versus ictal versus postictal). The average accuracy for stage detection using CHB-MIT database was 84.4%, while the Freiburg database's time-domain signals had an accuracy of 79.7% and the highest accuracy of 94.02% for classification in the TUH EEG database when comparing interictal stage to preictal stage.

Modern life is strongly associated with the use of cars, but the increase in acceleration speeds and their maneuverability leads to a dangerous driving style for some drivers. In these conditions, the development of a method that allows you to track the behavior of the driver is relevant. The article provides an overview of existing methods and models for assessing the functioning of motor vehicles and driver behavior. Based on this, a combined algorithm for recognizing driving style is proposed. To do this, a set of input data was formed, including 20 descriptive features: About the environment, the driver's behavior and the characteristics of the functioning of the car, collected using OBD II. The generated data set is sent to the Kohonen network, where clustering is performed according to driving style and degree of danger. Getting the driving characteristics into a particular cluster allows you to switch to the private indicators of an individual driver and considering individual driving characteristics. The application of the method allows you to identify potentially dangerous driving styles that can prevent accidents.
Hyperspectral object classification using hybrid spectral-spatial fusion and ...IJECEIAES
Because of its spectral-spatial and temporal resolution of greater areas, hyperspectral imaging (HSI) has found widespread application in the field of object classification. The HSI is typically used to accurately determine an object's physical characteristics as well as to locate related objects with appropriate spectral fingerprints. As a result, the HSI has been extensively applied to object identification in several fields, including surveillance, agricultural monitoring, environmental research, and precision agriculture. However, because of their enormous size, objects require a lot of time to classify; for this reason, both spectral and spatial feature fusion have been completed. The existing classification strategy leads to increased misclassification, and the feature fusion method is unable to preserve semantic object inherent features; This study addresses the research difficulties by introducing a hybrid spectral-spatial fusion (HSSF) technique to minimize feature size while maintaining object intrinsic qualities; Lastly, a soft-margins kernel is proposed for multi-layer deep support vector machine (MLDSVM) to reduce misclassification. The standard Indian pines dataset is used for the experiment, and the outcome demonstrates that the HSSF-MLDSVM model performs substantially better in terms of accuracy and Kappa coefficient.
CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!

It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.

A new design of capacitive power transfer based on hybrid approach for biomedical… (Zaki Mustapa)

signal interference [9]. Also, since the inductive power transfer propagating power by inducing
electromagnetic field, it is risky to interfere with other surrounding devices that sensitive to the
electromagnetic field. Thus, reducing this kind of interference is one of the main challenges to design an
inductive power transfer system [10].
The capacitive wireless power transfer, on the other hand, has been used in several applications and
has been proposed for biomedical implantable device since 2009 by Amir M. Sodagar et. al [2-11].
This approach was also recently used for sensing the biomedical signal as given in [12]. However, up to date,
to the authors’ knowledge, the achievement in capacitive linkage studies is not as successful as the inductive
link. This is because of the limited range factor of the capacitive link. NCC approaches is different to the
inductive power transfer, in which the electromagnetic as a mechanism for transferring energy [13-14].
But In CPT, the electric field between both parallel transmitters and receiver plates is used as the mechanism
for transferring energy in term of power and data. It was the solution to the IPT problem which the CPT
approaches eliminated the relatively large electromagnetic interference from the sensitive electronic
implantable device [15]. However, the size of bipolar CPT system are the weaknesses that need to be
addressed in the design. In addition, the bipolar CPT system experiencing the high power loss due to low
capacitive value at both forwarding and return path coupling plate in the power transmitting circuit. Further
description will be discussed in the next section [16]. Therefore, this paper provides a study on the Hybrid
CPT system to solve the size and efficiency problems of existing CPT bipolar systems.
In general, the main objective of this paper is to present the development of a new method of hybrid
capacitive power transfer (CPT) for Biomedical Implants. Contents of this paper are organized as follows:
In section 2, the basic theory of the capacitive coupling power transfer in biomedical device is explained, and
it continues to coupling plate with tissue analysis in subsection 3. The hybrid capacitive link is explained in
section 4 and it continues to Power Management which consists the simulation on designing class E power
amplifier with CPT applied. The drawbacks and solution of the system are discussed in section 6,
the remaining section is the conclusion and the future development of this study. The paper summarizes the
research needs of capacitive wireless power transfer in biomedical implantable device's technology. In order
to improve the system, the study remains open to discover the best solution. Thus, the author prepares plans
future work for these research and development of CPT in the biomedical implantable device.
2. CAPACITIVE COUPLING POWER TRANSFER IN BIOMEDICAL DEVICE
CPT approaches is a wireless power transfer scheme using a pair of coupling plate to transfer
electrical field through a dielectric barrier. This scheme is performed by the displacement of current without
a conductor as a medium for the transfer of charges.
The powering system consists of pairs of conductor plate located on either side of the skin of certain
tissue thickness, and its form a capacitive coupling which to enable the wireless power transfer [17].
The principle of CPT wireless power transfer is about the displacement current to transfer the power between
two contactless conductor plates. Together with that, conduction current also induced between both plates.
Both displacement and conduction equations are given in (1) and (2), respectively [18-19].
𝐼 𝑑𝑖𝑠𝑝 = 𝜖0 𝜖 𝑟(𝜔)𝐴
𝜕𝐸⃗
𝜕𝑡
(1)
𝐼𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑑 =
𝑉(𝑡)𝜎(𝜔)𝐴
𝐷
(2)
For a complete circuit of power delivery to load in bipolar CPT system, two such capacitances are
required. In order to improve the effective power delivery, displacement current should be increased while
the conduction current needs to minimize as low as possible to reduce the power loss with considering the
parameter of area (A), electric field €, distance (D), and relative permittivity (ϵr) in optimum values [20].
From the displacement current equation in (1), there are several parameters that are possible to be
manipulated in order to increase the displacement current and at the same time to improve the power transfer
efficiency. Among them, the parameter of electric field strength, E is the most affected one to the
displacement current value. These parameters can improve the efficiency by increasing the transmitter
excitation voltage and reducing the separation distance between the coupling plates. The displacement
current value is also affected by the rate of change of the electric field. Thus the efficiency can be improved
by increasing the operating frequency [21]. Besides that, increasing the magnitude of the electric field also
can improve the transferring power efficiency, whereby it can be done by expanding the conductor of the
coupling plate area [22-23]. However, all the parameters were limited by the biomedical implantable
device specification.

Since the pairs of conductor plate (limited Biohazard dimension) separated D by a few millimeter
tissues (<5mm) as the dielectric medium ϵr, σ, the power transfer strength is limited due to the weak
capacitance values[24]. Thus, a few millimeters deep of tissues which possible to attach the receiver plate is
under the layer of skin as illustrated in Figure 1 [25]. Besides that, the surface area of the coupling plate that
needs to be minimized will be a challenge to obtain high power transfer values. Thus, the specific on
designing capacitive wireless power transfer should be proposed to overcome the constraints and to fulfill the
biomedical implantable device requirement. In designing capacitive wireless power transfer for the
biomedical purpose, there are several particular aspects needs to be concerned, such as the element of
Biosafety, the performance of the power delivery efficiency, range for misaligning, effective range of system
and others [26].
Figure 1 illustrates the pair of coupling plate used in bipolar CPT system for biomedical implant
devices. Bipolar CPT system requires a bigger space to accommodate the 2 receivers implanted plate.
This matter will lead to the risk of skin tissue damage. Thus, the authors would like to propose the new CPT
system which is a hybrid CPT system. These new design will able to reduce the size of the implanted receiver
plate, and at the same time able to improve power delivery efficiency. Before discussing on hybrid CPT
system, first, one needs to understand the capacitive Coupling Plate with Tissue specification. Hence the
discussion on Coupling Plate with Tissue Analysis is given in the next section.

3. COUPLING PLATE WITH TISSUE ANALYSIS
To design the capacitive power transfer for the biomedical purpose, it is important to investigate the
characteristic of the coupling plate where this will be used as a medium for power transfer. From this
analysis, several parameters of coupling plate such as capacitance, impedance, and constant permittivity of
tissue can be found and will be used for the development of bipolar capacitance power transfer (CPT) for
Biomedical Implants.
The value of dielectric thickness, t, operating frequency, f and plate size to be used, A (A) is a fixed
parameter in measuring and calculating parameters of coupling plate. In this work, the value of dielectric
thickness is 0.005m, while the operating frequency is 1Mhz and size of the plate to be used is 9cm2. To carry
the proper permittivity measurement, 20Hz-10Mhz impedance analyzer and dielectric fixture test have been
used, see Figure 2. Capacitance measurement from 1kHz to 10MHz as shown in Figure 3.

4. HYBRID CAPACITIVE LINK
This newly proposed capacitive power transfer system has only applied one active coupling
capacitor, and use the tissue to serve as the return path for the current. This method applied both type of
current which is the displacement current for forward biasing and conduction current for the return path.
This method will reduce the size of the implant device and at the same time increase the efficiency of power
transfer which the return coupling capacitive plate as in bipolar system has been remove. Figure 4 illustrates
the hybrid CPT system for biomedical implantable devices.

5. POWER MANAGEMENT
The previous section, the characteristic on the hybrid CPT design based on the biomedical
implantable device constraint has been discussed. The specification will be a part of modeling and
experimental validation CPT as a developing wireless power transfer to powering biomedical implantable
devices. Determining the size of the capacitance plate at the receiver part is very important before the power
management design is proposed. Since the receiving plate will be placed inside after the skin layer,
the size of the plate should minimize as small as possible while small capacitance plate will cause the
reduction of the power transmission efficiency [26]. However, it can be solved by choosing the optimum
operating frequency and apply the appropriate impedance matching network of the power amplifier system
will be increasing the power transmission efficiency while ensuring high frequency generated in perfect zero
voltage switching [27].
The study of optimization for capacitive wireless power transfers system has been covered by many
researchers [28]. The optimization power transfers study focuses on increasing the efficiency of power
transfers and to manage system due to misalignment of coupling plate. The power transmission efficiency
rate for CPT depends on power signal frequency generated by the inverter. An Inverter or known as Power

the highest efficiency with a simple switching circuit required. The class E power amplifier has two different
types which are a Class E zero current switching and Class E zero voltage switching where both belong to

6. DRAWBACKS AND SOLUTION
Power transfer efficiency PTE is an important value which to ensuring the final load receives
enough power for their circuit operation. Since the CPT efficiency very sensitive to changes in the alignment
of coupling capacitive plates, the power delivery on the receiver will be inconsistency value [31]. This is a
challenge for researchers to find solutions to the inconsistency problems of power output. Furthermore, this
system should be designed following the requirement of devices and the biosafety specification standard
[32]. In order to analyze limitation of biosafety in the system, specific absorption rate (SAR) analysis need to
be done to see the maximum limit of this design [33].
In order to complete the proposed method of hybrid capacitive power transfer in the biomedical
implantable device, the study remains open to discover the best solution. The improvement can be studied
through several parts of the system, such as the feedback and regulating the operating frequency, design of
impedance matching, and design of coupling capacitive plate [34]. Thus, an efficient and reliable way of
capacitive wireless power transfer for implantable biomedical devices is expected as a successful outcome.
7. CONCLUSION
This paper is to prepare a new method of hybrid capacitive power transfer in the biomedical
implantable device. Based on this study, hybrid capacitive power transfer systems are a new method that has
the potential to apply to biomedical implantable devices. It was the solution to the bipolar CPT problem
which the hybrid CPT approaches eliminated the return path active coupling plate to form the complete
current flow in the circuit. The investigation proved that the hybrid CPT system able to deliver more efficient
rather than the bipolar system where the total of output reactance value has been reduced significantly.
However, all the parameters especially size and biosafety were limited by the biomedical implantable device
specification.
Class E ZVS inverters known as the most efficient inverter which the switch closed at zero voltage
conditions occurred if all components values was properly designed. However, there is also an element of
input impedance and load impedance equilibrium that needs to be ascertained to produce the maximum
power at the output of the class e power amplifier. Since the CPT efficiency very sensitive to changes in the
alignment of coupling capacitive plates, the power delivery on the receiver will be inconsistency value. In
order to improve the efficiency of changing power transferred, the study remains open to discover the |
best solution.

The improvement can be studied through several parts of the system, such as the feedback and
regulating the operating frequency, design of impedance matching, and design of coupling capacitive plate.
However, there are so many things has to master in, especially on the standard of procedure of the designing
capacitive wireless power transfer for biomedical practice. Thus, the author prepares several plans for future
work for these research and development.
8. FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS
The development of Hybrid Capacitive Power Transfer in Biomedical Implantable Device should
have their specific modeling which is to considering every parameter which affecting the whole operating
system. The modeling included the power management circuit, coupling capacitor with tissue, and the
receiver part with the implant device as their load. To design the system, all the limitation in term of
biosafety and the device requirement should be followed. To ensure the vision of bioelectronic medicine
technology yet to come, the path for the inventor advancements in capacitive wireless power transfer is
becoming clearer.
