• Vaccination and how it works?
• Herd Immunity
• COVID-19 vaccines in India
• Who can take the vaccine?
• What to expect during and after vaccination?

Unveiled: Lifting the Mask Behind Viruses with Christine FisherCindyChin17
On May 19th, Christine Fisher joined us for our i.e., webinar in discussing her work as a vaccine researcher in infectious diseases.Ms. Fisher's research focuses on improving vaccines against rabies-related viruses. She has also contributed to vaccine development for ebolavirus and other hemorrhagic fever diseases. Prior to her graduate work, Christine earned a BS in Biological Sciences at Drexel University and worked on therapeutic antibody development in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
The discussion will include:
- Vaccine development in general and what’s being done with the coronavirus in unprecedented times.
- Why is coronavirus so difference from other virus?
- What are the common traits amonst virus and infections?
- Why are masks and regular hygiene so important during an outbreak versus regular times?
- The origins of virus from animals.
Superbugs and the role of diagnostics explainedeucomed
Realising the role of in vitro diagnostics in tackling antibiotic resistance, the European Diagnostic Manufacturers Association (EDMA) in conjunction with AdvamedDx and GMTA hosted a side-event at the WHO’s World Health Assembly “The Fight Against Antimicrobial Resistance: Are Diagnostics Winning?” The event identified existing gaps in tackling AMR while highlighting the role of diagnostics.
So what is the role of diagnostics in antibiotic resistance? Are diagnostics winning?
How advances in Exponential Technology are enabling entrepreneurs to do in Healthcare what was once only possible by government and large corporations.

About the Webinar: Defeating Superbugs: Hospitals on the Front Lines
http://www.modernhealthcare.com/article/20140917/INFO/309179926
Hospitals across the country are facing a grim reality in which some of the most deadly healthcare-associated infections they encounter are untreatable with first- or even second-line antibiotics. These “superbugs” affect at least 2 million Americans each year and lead to 23,000 deaths. And their threat is growing, public health officials warn. This editorial webinar and “Defeating Superbugs” white paper will explore the steps providers must take to ramp up surveillance efforts, promote appropriate antibiotic use and control outbreaks. Our panel of experts will share their organizations' experiences as well as proven strategies for success.
Registration for this webinar includes Modern Healthcare's “Defeating Superbugs” white paper, with proven tips and strategies for promoting appropriate antibiotic use, improving infection surveillance, identifying drug-resistant infections and dealing with outbreaks.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
- Best practices for effective antimicrobial stewardship
- Real-world examples of effective interventions, including universal rapid testing for drug-resistant MRSA
- Tips for engaging senior leadership
- Aggressive strategies for controlling outbreaks
