This document defines and explains several key terms related to motion: speed is the rate of movement without direction; velocity includes both speed and direction; scalars have magnitude but no direction while vectors have both magnitude and direction; instantaneous velocity is an object's velocity at a single moment in time; average velocity is the total displacement divided by the total time; and acceleration is the rate of change of velocity, or a vehicle's ability to gain speed over a period of time.

c)scalar-A scalar or scalar quantity in physics is a physical
quantity that can be described by a single element of a number
field such as a real number, often accompanied by units of
measurement
d)vector- A vector is a quantity or phenomenon that has two
independent properties: magnitude and direction. The term also
denotes the mathematical or geometrical representation of such a
quantity.
e)instantaneous velocity-Instantaneous velocity is the velocity of
an object in motion at a specific point in time. This is determined
similarly to average velocity, but we narrow the period of time so
that it approaches zero. If an object has a standard velocity over a
period of time, its average and instantaneous velocities may be
the same.
f)average velocity-The average speed of an object is defined as
the distance traveled divided by the time elapsed.Velocity is a
vector quantity, and average velocitycan be defined as the
displacement divided by the time.
g)acceleration-a vehicle's capacity to gain speed within a short
time.
