LO: To perform the balcony scene using
the scripts that they have written from the
previous lesson
Expected Learning Outcomes:

All pupils will perform the scripts that they
have written from the previous lesson. They
will practice their scripts from the previous
lesson with their partner, and perform it to
the class.
Opportunities for Assessment:
Formative & summative
Formative
 Practice of the script – students will practice their performance with a partner. They will be
told to focus how they speak
 Performance ofthe script – students will perform their script to the class. The students will
feedback and say what went well (WWW) and even better if (EBI)
 Evaluation of their script – students will evaluate their script for homework using given
questions
Cognitive challenges:
Desirable difficulties for all abilities; how will students progress?
To be able to perform the script using appropriate voice, tone and control – the
teacher will go through ways to use voice to portray what is being said, as well
as using pauses etc.
EBT strategies:
e.g. APK, reciprocal teaching, collaborative learning, advance & visual organisers,
similarities and differences, goals, repetition and practice, meta-cognition, feedback,
cognitive challenge, subject knowledge, summaries and note-taking
 Collaborative learning & cognitive challenge – students will be
collaborating as they are acting in their pairs. They will be acting out a
chosen script.

8NE Act Two Script 21.4.2016

Lesson Plan pro forma Class: 8NE (mixed ability sets) indicate levels of attainment Date: 21.4.2016 Time: 12:20 – 13:25 No. of pupils: 28 Unit /SoW: Romeo & Juliet Shakespeare Unit Key Learning Goals: ref. to exam board criteria/NC as appropriate Shakespeare - reading a wide range of fiction and non-fiction, including in particular whole books, short stories, poems and plays with a wide coverage of genres, historical periods, forms and authors. … in pupil-friendly format: LO: To perform the balcony scene using the scripts that they have written from the previous lesson Expected Learning Outcomes: all pupils? some pupils? a few pupils? All pupils will perform the scripts that they have written from the previous lesson. They will practice their scripts from the previous lesson with their partner, and perform it to the class. Opportunities for Assessment: Formative & summative Formative  Practice of the script – students will practice their performance with a partner. They will be told to focus how they speak  Performance ofthe script – students will perform their script to the class. The students will feedback and say what went well (WWW) and even better if (EBI)  Evaluation of their script – students will evaluate their script for homework using given questions Cognitive challenges: Desirable difficulties for all abilities; how will students progress? To be able to perform the script using appropriate voice, tone and control – the teacher will go through ways to use voice to portray what is being said, as well as using pauses etc. EBT strategies: e.g. APK, reciprocal teaching, collaborative learning, advance & visual organisers, similarities and differences, goals, repetition and practice, meta-cognition, feedback, cognitive challenge, subject knowledge, summaries and note-taking  Collaborative learning & cognitive challenge – students will be collaborating as they are acting in their pairs.
