This document outlines a lesson plan for teaching figurative language to an 8th grade classroom of below average readers from diverse ethnic backgrounds. The plan involves using a projector, computer, webquest, and movie maker software for students to learn about and demonstrate their understanding of 5 types of figurative language. Students will work on a movie showing examples and definitions of figurative language techniques to display their knowledge. They will also present their work from the webquest and participate in discussions to be evaluated on their understanding and ability to identify different types of figurative language.
