Results

 Sows fed Original XPC during gestation and lactation improved
weaning weight, number weaned, and pre-weaning mortality.
 ROI of using Original XPC is more than 5-fold (average results)
 Number weaned
 4.5 litters lifetime x 0.30 = 1.35 more pigs weaned
 1.35 x $35 weaned pig value = $44.41
 Weaning weight
 0.45 kg at weaning equates to 1.36 – 1.81 kg advantage at market
 Equates to $1.61 – 2.15 per pig marketed, assuming $1.65 per kg
 Not significant, but sows fed Originial XPC tended to hold body
condition score better than sows fed a control diet as well as return
to estrous quicker and a higher conception rate.
(Further investigations are in the pipeline to evaluate this)

 Gilts and immunocastrates were penned separately

 Overall, the trial had clean health (very little mortality or morbidity)

(Further investigations are in the pipeline to evaluate this)

Mos is a component of a yeast cell. 100g of yeast – 25% of cell wall. 75% is extract make foods more flavorful.   12. Studies from 1991 to today have consistently demonstrated a positive impact on litter weight at weaning when sows are fed XPC.
