Research
The strengths of my research is that I covered a lot of different genres that I
could have made my audio similar to. I made sure to cover a range because
then it would give me a few different audios to look into and pick apart and
maybe take inspiration from. This is also what made my research help my
product a little, as it made it a little easier to know what I wanted to do and I
took inspiration from the stories I listened to a I wanted to wrote a story and
have that as my audio instead of a podcast or something like that. I liked the
more fictional side of the audios than the factual.
The weaknesses of my research is that even though I covered a wide range of
different genres of different types of audio, I feel like I could have covered
more of a range than what I did, to make it a little more diverse and have a
little difference in what I did research. This maybe would have changed the
inspiration for my final product as I would have been looking at different
types of audios. I would have maybe changed my idea from a story to a
podcast if I had listened to more and enjoyed them more than I have.
Planning
The strengths of my planning was the range of different plans I had. I had
more than one genre in my plans, and made sure to have 3 well developed
ideas that I could maybe take forward to be my main idea. The idea I took
forward was the story. The plan was very detailed and easy to follow, and this
helped me with my product in the long run as I could easily remind myself
bits I may have forgotten in the storyline.
The weaknesses of my planning is that my plan was too long winded for the
time allocated and wouldn’t have worked to its full extent, so I had to cut a bit
out, change the ending and make it more enjoyable that way. I should have
just made sure my plan was not too long, but still well developed. This would
have then made my product go with my plan, instead of making my plan and
my product only be similar.
Time Management
I managed my time quite well, as I had my audio done on time. I feel like my
product could have improved a lot if I had more time to finish my audio. I
might have had it recorded again, as there were bits that I would have liked to
run a little smoother in recording. I would also have made it have more sound
effects in the middle as I feel like they were just at the end and the beginning.
Also, I would have maybe made the characters have voices and written a
script if I had more time to do so. Overall, I am happy with the product how it
is, and the time it took to make it.
Technical Qualities
The similarity between this audio and mine is that it has
minimal sound effects. They are there but just not as much as
they could be, and it would be a lot better if there was a few
more. The difference between this audio and mine is the time
it is set in, my audio story is set in the medieval times, and this
is set in modern day times. I know this because they talk
about texts and phone numbers, and that really isn’t
medieval. Another similarity is that there is only one person
speaking all through this audio, just like mine. And they are
telling a story, like in mine in past tense.
Aural Qualities
I like to think my work sounds good, and different from anything else that I’ve heard
myself. It was creative, as I made the storyline up myself, as I am a creative person and
like to make things up like this. I have a good imagination when it comes to writing
stories and making them seem real. Some aspects of my audio that I like, is towards
the end when the story picks up and gets more dramatic, and the sound effects really
start to kick in and give the story something that makes it seem more realistic than the
story really is. I like the way the story is told through third person, as it is something I
wanted to explore. I would improve the amount of sound effects that are put into the
audio, as I felt like they were all put in at the end instead of spread out through the
full thing. I would also have made voices for the main characters if I had more time to
do so, I feel like it would have made it more interesting and fun to work with. I would
do this by asking for more time and working through things efficiently and quickly, so I
would still be making good work, with good content. The strengths of this audio is that
I explored different ways of telling stories and the story itself is well spoken and well
written. The weaknesses of this audio is the way the sound effects are not spread out
all the way through the audio, also I think the story itself could have been read a little
differently as I had to cut out a lot of places where my narrator went wrong.
Audience Appeal
I appealed to my target audience by including a girl who just wants to be
loved and has a lot of affection for her father (this would appeal to the girls
or females that listen to this) I appealed to the boys a bit more as the story is
centred around a dragon that kills a king, and death and dragons are more
for the males and aimed to entice them. I made sure things were spoken
were in a way that would make my target audience like it, that is was clear
and easy to understand, but not too easy, so people didn’t think they were
reading a child's book, but they felt like they didn’t have to google words that
were put into the audio. The music chosen was aimed to make my audience
enjoy the start and lets them know that it is a medieval fantasy story, and I
was aiming the audio at people who like things like that and would listen,
and it just lets them know that they are actually listening to something they
would enjoy.

Feedback
Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
I liked the sound effects as well as the storyline. I also
liked the detail in the story.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
You could have had possibly 2 or more people
speaking.
Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
I like the story dialogue its very interesting
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
I think that she could of used more sound effects
and less talking
Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– Its very well spoken.
– Music and the sound effects sounded good.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Could maybe of added more sound effects to the
beginning because most of them are at the end.
Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– I agree that I could have put more sound effects in
the middle and at the start of my audio, instead of
leaving them all to the end.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
– I disagree that there was too much talking, as the
talking was the point of the audio to start with,
like from a 3rd person point of view.
Peer Feedback Summary
The changes I would make to my product are
adding the sound effects into the middle and the
start, as it gets a little boring without them, and it
would make it a little more interesting and maybe
have a better effect on the listener as they’d want
to listen to it more. I also would change the
amount of people speaking, as I also would have
liked to have more than one person to be talking
and be a part of the story, but simply did not have
enough time.
