As my game is a murder mystery game, a detective is
obviously in need. This is just a pixel art of a stereotypical
detective that someone would design if asked to draw a
detective. I think for my video game I would create a
detective based from what people would stereotypically
think; maybe include a right hand man like Sherlock
Holmes.
With the murder mystery being a dark atmosphere, I’m
choosing to include darker shades of colours as opposed to
brighter ones as I feel that would take away the bleak style of all
the different rooms I plan on designing.
Style sheet
Obviously within a murder mystery, there is a
murderer, in order to find the murderer out you need
suspects. This image is a perfect example of how I
would display my suspects upon arrest within the
game. The colours match the scheme I imagine and
the suspects are exactly how I imagined I would
create them.
As well as suspects, alibi’s are also needed
when wanting to discover who the murderer is.
This image isn’t a representation of how I would
create and have the suspects, however it is the
correct amount of people I would design. I would
have them pop up at different moments and
different areas within the game to help the
player with who committed the crime.
Style sheet
Besides the detective, a murderer is a clear main character
within a murder mystery. This image is how I would imagine
designing how my murderer would be once behind bars and the
game has been completed. Facially wise, I would design him to
look more like someone who isn’t capable of doing such actions,
ie someone with a kind face.
The image above is to show how one of the searched rooms would look. This isn’t
specifically the room where the murder would take place, however the colour scheme
and layout is how I would design it. This is where the alibi’s/suspects would be asking
the lateral thinking questions the player to find out who the murderer was.
Style sheet
The images attached are other examples of rooms I would design and consider
including within my game. As the game would go on, different rooms would be made
available with different alibi’s within them. These rooms are good examples of how I
would design them, especially the living room with the fireplace, I feel that would
bring a creepy vibe to the game, especially if it cackle sand cracks at random
moments throughout the game.
Style sheet
As the final scene within my game series, it will
show the murderer in jail as a prisoner once
found out about. This is the type of prison cell I
pictured for my game, the colours matching
perfectly with what I imagined.
The police officer wouldn't be a character seen a lot
throughout the series, just when someone were arrested,
some would be used as alibi’s if relevant to the
suspect/victim. When I thought about the design for my
police officer, I pictured this sort of style in my mind, so this
is a perfect representation of how I would create him/her.
