Production Reflection
Matthew
Process
I put the picture in the middle of the page, and
zoom in the picture to remove the white outline.
To make it more like a poster instead of a picture
with a white background to make seem like more
of a poster feel to it. This is so that you can’t see
the white outline of the picture, to make it more
mysterious and spooky. I did this by using crtl+t to
make turn into free transformation, to enable me
to enlarge to image to make fill the page.
Process
I used the text tool to put the name of the
film and the catchphrase for film. This was so
it look more like poster instead of a picture.
My thoughts about my work was what can I
add to it to make more like poster. I did this
so people can expect more information
towards the time. I also use that font because
its very horror like with the dripping aspect of
the words for a old fashion horror effect,
towards the films.
Process
I added an age rating and “coming soon” to make
the poster seem more realistic. My thoughts
about my work is it look more like a poster than
any of my other ideas before hand with what I
wanted to do. The colour scheme works well with
each other. I added more text with a catchphrase
to make the poster seems real because, most films
poster will have a catchphrase that make the film
seem more interesting to look at, also it could
draw the audience in to watch it. Therefore the
catchphrase will do its job by making the audience
think what the film is about.
Process
I got rid of the “coming soon” because it
wasn’t needed for the DVD cover. This was so
the audience could see the difference
between both of them, I used the “eye tool”
next to the one I wanted to hide. My thoughts
about my work is that it’s started to look like a
DVD front cover, instead of a back cover
because I wanted the back cover to be zoom in
a certain place, this was so I can get a close up
of the person and but not the “Night
Snatcher” identify because that would ruin the
whole point of the film.
Process
I zoom in a certain place to make it seem like
a different picture and it was taken in
different place. My thoughts about my work
is that it was a starting to look like a actual
back cover for a DVD, with the description of
the film about what the plot should be. I used
the free transformation tool by clicking ctrl+t
to making select the right area, then I draw
the image box to one side to make it zoom in
on a certain area. Therefore it looks like a
different photo has been taken for the
backcover.
Process
I added the age rating & barcode to the cover to
make it seem more like a actual backcover for a
DVD, I also put in some reviews for the movie to
make it seem more legit with what people say for it.
My thoughts for the final back cover is that it looks
like a cover with the information and with all the
rating/ reviews. With rating and reviews include it
would make the audience think that the film is good
with all the information on the back. I did this by
clicking on the text tool “T” and draw a box for how
much I want it and how much should fit on the on
each line.
Reflection
Tool used and why Strength Weakness
Text There were many fonts to
use for horror and that
were effect.
The size of the font vary
each time, by one font
being quite small then
changing to another fill the
whole poster and covers
Free Transformation It was easy to use and
improve the quality of my
work by having adapt to
the size that I wanted.
It would sometimes not
change size of a certain
part if was already edit on
which made production
slower.
Eye to hide text It help me hide certain
text that I wanted to be
hidden, while I was editing
on the covers for example,
the “coming soon” I made
hidden when I was creating
the DVD covers
It would sometimes not
hide the text and get rid of
it instead, which made the
production of the covers
much slower for example it
would get rid of the age
rating
Reflection
• Strength:
One strength would be the colour and light contrast well with each other, this is
because it would make eye catching to the audience, by it being very different from
other horror posters and DVD covers. This would make the audience want watch or
buy the film for when it comes out.
Another strength is the font on the size and it colour all work quite well and I would
replicate this for my final product as it’s the same across both so there continuity. Also
it stands out and easy readable.
Weaknesses:
All my experiments were very similar only really experiment with font colours, background
colours and different fonts for posters and DVD covers. I could of varied the experiment more to
have a wider range of choice which I could of used to produce my final poster and DVD colour. I
think some of the reason why there isn’t much difference between them is I rushed this section I
was trying to stick to my schedule and meet the time restraints. If I spent a bit more time I could
of produced a better product as I could of looked at using more then one image on the DVD
covers.

6. fmp production reflection final

  • 2. Process I put the picture in the middle of the page, and zoom in the picture to remove the white outline. To make it more like a poster instead of a picture with a white background to make seem like more of a poster feel to it. This is so that you can’t see the white outline of the picture, to make it more mysterious and spooky. I did this by using crtl+t to make turn into free transformation, to enable me to enlarge to image to make fill the page.
  • 3. Process I used the text tool to put the name of the film and the catchphrase for film. This was so it look more like poster instead of a picture. My thoughts about my work was what can I add to it to make more like poster. I did this so people can expect more information towards the time. I also use that font because its very horror like with the dripping aspect of the words for a old fashion horror effect, towards the films.
  • 4. Process I added an age rating and “coming soon” to make the poster seem more realistic. My thoughts about my work is it look more like a poster than any of my other ideas before hand with what I wanted to do. The colour scheme works well with each other. I added more text with a catchphrase to make the poster seems real because, most films poster will have a catchphrase that make the film seem more interesting to look at, also it could draw the audience in to watch it. Therefore the catchphrase will do its job by making the audience think what the film is about.
  • 5. Process I got rid of the “coming soon” because it wasn’t needed for the DVD cover. This was so the audience could see the difference between both of them, I used the “eye tool” next to the one I wanted to hide. My thoughts about my work is that it’s started to look like a DVD front cover, instead of a back cover because I wanted the back cover to be zoom in a certain place, this was so I can get a close up of the person and but not the “Night Snatcher” identify because that would ruin the whole point of the film.
  • 6. Process I zoom in a certain place to make it seem like a different picture and it was taken in different place. My thoughts about my work is that it was a starting to look like a actual back cover for a DVD, with the description of the film about what the plot should be. I used the free transformation tool by clicking ctrl+t to making select the right area, then I draw the image box to one side to make it zoom in on a certain area. Therefore it looks like a different photo has been taken for the backcover.
  • 7. Process I added the age rating & barcode to the cover to make it seem more like a actual backcover for a DVD, I also put in some reviews for the movie to make it seem more legit with what people say for it. My thoughts for the final back cover is that it looks like a cover with the information and with all the rating/ reviews. With rating and reviews include it would make the audience think that the film is good with all the information on the back. I did this by clicking on the text tool “T” and draw a box for how much I want it and how much should fit on the on each line.
  • 8. Reflection Tool used and why Strength Weakness Text There were many fonts to use for horror and that were effect. The size of the font vary each time, by one font being quite small then changing to another fill the whole poster and covers Free Transformation It was easy to use and improve the quality of my work by having adapt to the size that I wanted. It would sometimes not change size of a certain part if was already edit on which made production slower. Eye to hide text It help me hide certain text that I wanted to be hidden, while I was editing on the covers for example, the “coming soon” I made hidden when I was creating the DVD covers It would sometimes not hide the text and get rid of it instead, which made the production of the covers much slower for example it would get rid of the age rating
  • 9. Reflection • Strength: One strength would be the colour and light contrast well with each other, this is because it would make eye catching to the audience, by it being very different from other horror posters and DVD covers. This would make the audience want watch or buy the film for when it comes out. Another strength is the font on the size and it colour all work quite well and I would replicate this for my final product as it’s the same across both so there continuity. Also it stands out and easy readable. Weaknesses: All my experiments were very similar only really experiment with font colours, background colours and different fonts for posters and DVD covers. I could of varied the experiment more to have a wider range of choice which I could of used to produce my final poster and DVD colour. I think some of the reason why there isn’t much difference between them is I rushed this section I was trying to stick to my schedule and meet the time restraints. If I spent a bit more time I could of produced a better product as I could of looked at using more then one image on the DVD covers.
