STYLE SHEET - FONTS
STYLE SHEET - FONTS
With these fonts that I have chosen for my FMP, I feel they fit the genre of the
artist I have decided to create posters/video/merchandise for. As his music is
old school, folk, I went with fonts that were more old school rather than current
as I don’t feel it will be fitting with the concert advert if there were current fonts.
I particularly like the ‘Depalma’ font as I like the points in the center edges of
each letter. I feel it gives the text a little more edge, it is a simple font in itself
however the pointed edges give it that funky style I was looking for. Another
font I particularly like is the ‘Campus’ font as I like the fadedness on some of
the lettering. I feel that really ties in well with the artist I am planning on basing
my work on as one of the leading songs the artist sings is ‘Flicker’ this font
reminding me of the burns a match would make on a sheet of paper. I also like
the ‘Only The Strong’ font for the same reasoning. The font ‘Porn Star Academy’
is one of a simple but bold font, perfect to show the dates and any added extra
information needed when designing my poster.
STYLE SHEET – COLOUR SCHEMES
STYLE SHEET – COLOUR SCHEMES
The colours I have chosen, again, match the artist I have chosen to base my
FMP on. I like the blues and purples chosen, and I feel when certain ones are
mixed together, they will make the poster and merchandise look how I want
them too as the images I have chosen to use for the poster will definitely be
complemented by these colours. I feel the greens chosen will also stand out on
the page, this colours and the reds only being used if need be to make any
information stand out against my poster or merchandise. The white shades I
have chosen will only be used for text that wont stand out against a dark
background; the black shades being used for the same but opposite reason.
The reds and pinks will be used, again, for pieces of information that I need to
stand out against the poster. For example, I would draw a shape on Photoshop,
use white writing and colour the shape in the red to make it jump out of the
page.
STYLE SHEET – TOUR POSTER EXAMPLES
STYLE SHEET – TOUR POSTER EXAMPLES
With the tour posters I chose to show as examples, I feel they are all simple
posters with just the tour name, concert dates with venues and towns/cities
and a studio shot of the artist. They have also matched the colour schemes
used based around the artist and what they’re wearing as apposed to the
artist having to wear the colours of the tour poster to have it tie in well. I like
the simplicity of all the posters, they haven’t got anything too bold and out
there on the posters, just the information needed regarding the tour they’re
embarking on. One poster is for a date specific performance, this still having
the same effect as the other poster having all the dates or certain parts of the
world on their posters. It is common for people to design posters that have
the dates for specific continents within the world rather than having all of the
tour dates on one, this leaving more room for other things on the poster and
making it easier for the public to read what dates are on there.
STORYBOARD
Have the word ‘adventure’
in the center of the
bold lettering. Have the
background black and
dramatic music playing
over the top.
Flash of several images go
over the screen, fans
screaming in the
background. Music
continues.
Bold ‘starts’ in the middle
screen, similar layout to
how the first slide is
portrayed.
Flash of several images go
over the screen, fans
screaming in the
background. Music
continues.
Similarly with ‘adventure’,
the word now is placed
center of the screen, the
music speeding up
gradually.
Images flash on screen
again, however grow
gradually faster until start
of concert videos begin.
Have different clips of
concert videos played
across the screen, royalty
free music played within
the background.
As the clips come to an
end, have the final words
said “thank you” before
slowly fading the videos
and music out.
Show tour poster with all
dates on it etc. include
and where to purchase
tickets as well as social
media and website of said
artist.

CONTINGENCY PLANNING
Potential Issue Solution
Camera runs out of battery. Take extra batteries and ensure original
battery is fully charged before entering the
venue.
Show you’re attending is cancelled or can’t
travel to the venue.
Make sure, if in budget, there is a backup
concert you can go to in order to collect the
images/videos needed.
Computer or laptop breaks, so can’t edit
poster/merch/video.
Make sure there are no viruses on the
computer you’re using or use college
facilities by transferring work onto a
memory stick
Copyright when using dubbed over music. Make sure the music used is royalty free or
create my mown.
Corrupt memory card. Have a spare memory card in case the one
in the camera erases the content already
collected.
Website to design merchandise has gone
down.
Make sure to have several backup websites
that could be used instead of the main one
you’re using, in case of a fault in the system.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Potential Issue How will the issue be
avoided?
Fainting in the venue. If liable to pass out in big crowds due to lack of
water/food. Ensure to have eaten before entering
the gig and drink fluids consistently when inside.
Noise of the concert becomes too much. Make sure you are able to handle loud noise for
long periods of time, if not take a time out
during the gig to calm down before re-entering.
Special effects on stage e.g. flashing lights,
smoke machines etc.
Ensure the lighting won’t effect your sight in a
long term way and stay clear of smoke machines
if suffering with asthma.
Overseas working. If working in another country and different area
than used to, ensure travel is booked in advance
and leave in plenty of time to catch flights, trains,
ferries etc.
Liquids spilt on floor or bags/coats. Watch where you’re standing and ensure you
don’t slip on empty cups or stand on peoples
belongings as you could slip.
Queueing for long periods of time. Ensure to move around a lot (stand up, sit down,
go for walks) when queueing. Drink enough
fluids if it’s warm, take blankets if cold and eat
