2. Style sheet
I will be using the colours on this slide. I feel as if a colour scheme with many varying colours from the spectrum
would take away the atmosphere that the background and pictures give the magazine. The colours I have picked
are rather close in the spectrum and hopefully not too intense meaning they can attract the audience
satisfactorily but also not get too much for anyone.
The yellow and orange colours on the far left will be used in the main theme of the magazine and logo. They will
make up the base of the branding of my media and will become the official colour of it like Xbox has green and
PlayStation has blue. The colours in this part of the spectrum are more serious looking and would help give
suitable vibe to the type of magazine I want to create. Themes of victory, leadership and even rage, war and
ruthlessness can all be gathered when these colours have been put into good use.

I chose these particular fonts for my designs because of both the simplicity and practicality of them. It is
clear what the font says for any readers that could possibly have problems with their vision or just reading
in general. This style of fonts can be more practical too as they can accompany most layouts and cover
types. For example, a more adventurous, random font would not suit a more structured, serious cover
style. As you can clearly see, some of the fonts are more suited to a plain white background than the rest.
The colour exception being the yellow – this may be more suited to a darker shade of most any colours.
Due to this odd colour out, I decided to try and implement it into my magazine. I will use the yellow to
contrast with darker colours like black on my logo’s background. The font will go rather well with the colour
as they both have symbolism in my project. The yellow will represent victory, and valour as both could be
achieved in battle. It could also represent the positivity of winning a war and coming first ahead of any
other opposition. Through research online, more popular connotations of yellow are increased mental
activity, active memory and encouraged communication which would definitely all help during a play
through of a Total War game. Personally, I thought the font used looked rather futuristic and modern which
while not quite fitting the medieval theme of the magazine, could symbolise the fact that the magazine will
be up to date and caught up with all of the freshest news and tech.
4. Image Styles
In my video , I want to add in gameplay from
the game I am talking about as the well known
YouTuber, Pixelated Apollo does. It would help
give the audience a better understanding of
what I am discussing. The action would also
help keep the younger audience interested as
there is more to look at in the meantime. The
gameplay could also help the audience verify
that the tactic i show will actually work.
My magazine cover will hopefully end up with a
similar look to this. It will have a more simplistic
style to it as opposed to the other gaming
magazines which are always full of information
in almost every little space which could leave
some readers feeling rather overwhelmed and
confused. My design will be able to get the main
contents and information across in a neater, yet
artistic fashion which could hopefully attract
more of an audience (especially those of which
are less frequent readers in general).

I decided to lay out my
magazine like this so that the
information being given is
not in the way too much and
are clearly visible from the
sides. The image in the
center shows off the theme
of the magazines and gives
the reader an idea on what
they are about to read
about. The simplistic design
was mostly chosen so that
younger audiences won’t get
too bored and decide not to
buy it. The colours are
mostly dark themed and
representative of what to
expect from the game when
playing. The black colours
are representative of plague
and famine which fits in well
with the medieval theme of
the Total War game featured.
Similarly, the red represents
the danger and anger in war
that is experienced
commonly.

Lead ArticleIn this design, I attempted
to create a cover on a
different part of the colour
spectrum. Although the
colours were different, I
tried to give off the same
symbolism and meaning as
the previous layout. The
purple in the picture
symbolises frustration and
gloom that would most
likely have been in the
minds of the soldiers
during the darkest days of
world war 2 – exactly
what’s covered in the
game. It is also the colour
of the purple heart medal
that gets awarded to
wounded US soldiers. The
phrase “purple cow” is in
reference to something
people consider unique,
eye-catching and
remarkable which could
link to what people thought
of the game.

9. Contingency Planning
Potential Issue Solution
the software might not work properly and
could end up messing up.
Try it from home too and transport it back on a
memory stick if it works.
My work may corrupt. back up the work to my H: drive and if the usb
files corrupt take it to the I.T specialists.
My work could be too complex to create in
pixels
Simplify the design by using shapes instead and
have a backup plan ready in case I may need to
change the type of media or any problems
arrive suddenly.
I might not manage my time as well as planned Stick to deadlines given by following my
deadline and allocate specific amounts of time
to each powerpoint.
The software could quit unexpectedly during
production.
Save it regularly and make sure to have more
than one version should I need to go back.
Overall product may not be as professional as
desired.
Do not rush the work and work in my free
time.
10. Health and Safety
Potential Issue How will the issue be
avoided?
Eye damage from staring at the screen for so
long.
Take breaks from the computer regularly.
Wrist cramp when the keyboard is not in the
correct place.
Put it in the correct place
Electric shocks from the computer. Make sure the pc/device is tested.
Body strain can be achieved from sitting on a
