This document introduces the 5 key concepts and questions of media literacy: 1) All media messages are constructed for a purpose, not always truthful. 2) Media uses techniques like colors, angles, slogans to attract attention. 3) People can interpret the same message differently based on their experiences. 4) Media reflects certain values and viewpoints while omitting others through stereotypes. 5) Most media aims to gain profit or power, not necessarily help the audience. Students are assigned to analyze 2 advertisements using the 5 concepts and questions, describing each ad and answering how the messages are constructed, what techniques are used, how people may interpret them differently, what values are represented, and why each
