This document discusses the determination of float and slack in critical path method (CPM) network calculations. It defines event slack as the difference between the latest and earliest occurrence times, and activity float as the available time an activity's duration can be delayed. There are three types of floats: total float, free float, and independent float. Formulas are provided to calculate total float, free float, independent float, head slack, tail slack, and an example network is shown with the calculations.
