• 1. first of all I have used the magnetic lasso tool
to select parts of the fonts to paint then red so it
looks like dripping blood. After I used the
magnetic lasso tool I had used the brush tool to
paint it red. Also to speed up the process of
painting, I had used the rectangular marquee
tool then used the magnetic lasso tool to create
some rough edges. I love this idea of a font for
my trailer title as it includes blood in it so it
makes sense.
• Strengths: the magnetic lasso tool took while to
get the hang of using it but overall I did a good
job using it as it looks professional.
• Weaknesses: the weaknesses of using magnetic
lasso tool is that its no that precise for doing the
first font, I had to be carful around the edges of
the font when editing, it was hard to use.

2. I used the quick selection tool and I clicked on to the
brush tool and changed the colour of the font to a dark
but bright red to emphasise that it has blood in this or it
shows that they is violence or danger involved in this
trailer.
Strengths: the quick selection tool was easy and simple
to use, it look minutes to edit as it was simple to figure it
out.
Weaknesses: it could be too simple for a trailer if you
wanted a bright, bold, unique font this is not for your
product. It’s a good and simple font overall.

• 3. first of all I used the magnetic tool to select the
letters I want and I clicked onto the brush tool and
changed the colour to red, the reason I used them
letters is to show the audience that they is a code
within the title which says ‘evil’. I like this idea of a
title as its my own creative idea and not everyone
will understand that they is s code word.
• Strengths: the magnetic tool was easy to use and it
took minutes. Also the brush tool was simple and
easy to use to change the colour of the text. I used
them type of letters in red to use a code word and I
loved that idea.
Weaknesses: the weakness of using the magnetic tool
was that it can be time consuming and the brush tool
could not have the colours you want or you don’t like the
idea of the code word.
4. even though this looks like a quick and easy
edit, it took awhile as I had to use the quick
selection tool and then I had to colour in the
letters but I had difficulty doing so as it kept
selecting the rest of the title and I didn’t want all
of it. I like this edit as its simple but affective as it
stands out.
Strengths: the quick selection tool is good as it
takes no time to create a different font look, its
good as it not time consuming. Its quick and
simple and easy to use.
Weaknesses: the quick selection tool is good
overall but the weakness is that its hard to select
only a small part of the tool you have to always go
on the minus at the top of the scene so you can
get rid of the other parts of the font you don’t
want to colour in.

5. first of all I like this edit because its simple and
the red in the two letters create a creepy
atmosphere like danger.
I created this by zooming up to the letters then I
used the brush tool to colour in, but I did it messy to
create a more creepy atmosphere.
Strengths: the brush tool is simple and easy to use
when you need something quickly to colour a letter
In, it tool minutes to produce. It’s a good design as
its effective to the trailer, I created the selected font
an dark red to show that its got blood in and it’s a
sign of danger, violence etc.
Weaknesses: its too simple and it can be too dark
for others product, if some of the audiences have
bad eye sight it will very hard for them to see this
title as its not bright.

5. process • Here on this trailer poster I created, I used the first
font as it makes the poster more scary and it shows
the audience that they is blood involved in the trailer.
the crosses are been placed here to make the poster
more bright, but I don’t want it too bright in my final
poster so it doesn’t take the focus off the nun as she's
is the main focus the viewers such be noticing.
• I want the main focus to be on the ‘Nun’ as she's is
the big part of this movie trailer.
• I have placed a dark background of a house to show
the audience that’s where the action happens with
this ‘Nun’ but it doesn’t tell the audience the
storyline. I think that the is wording on the ground
near the house that says ‘evil’ is a good idea but I feel
as for a movie poster it can be too much and telling
the audience that she is evil.
• For the real poster I would download a font for the
wording ‘evil’ as it will look more professional and
realistic, I also would of uses the magnetic lasso tool
smooth around the nuns body so it doesn’t look stuck
on and it will look like she is actually at the location.
An I would be changing the title to an actual name
what actually suits my trailer.
• This poster is a draft of my final poster, I might not be
using this but I want to use the fire crosses in my final
work as I feel as it will work to brighten up my poster.
Strengths: The strengths of this poster is that this
draft work will help me out with my final work and I
will be using some of these ideas in it.
The fact that the font is bright and it shows that it is
a horror movie also it gives a frightening atmosphere
to the audience.
Weaknesses: The weakness is that the wording on
the bottom of the screen that says ‘evil’ is too much
for a poster.
I also will come up with a tag line that suits my film
on my final poster.

6. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you include in your final product?
• The elements I will be using in my final product will be one of these fonts and deigns, with using
one of these fonts it will make a better scared audience because if the title looks good people will
want to see the film/trailer. I am thinking to use either font 1 or font 5 because they show more
of a dark setting/ theme so it goes perfectly well with my trailer.
• I will be also used the dark coloured theme as it will make the atmosphere more creepy and
frightening.
– The editing of the different types of fonts was successful but some of the fonts took awhile to
edit as the tools was hard to use at some points such as when using the magnetic lasso tool
its very temperamental and difficult as you need a steady hand while using it.
– I am going to be using the number 5 font and editing it differently as I will be changing the
colour of the text so it will go with the rest of the poster and dvd cover and trailer.
• SUCESSFUL: I will be using the fire cross on the house on my final product as I feel that will
make an effect on the brightness of my poster. I will be also using the same aspect of poster
with the dark theme as my poster will be based on a nun and an abandoned house. I will be
using a font at the top but it will be a different type as its time consuming to create/colour in
the blood on the title.
• UNSUCESSFUL: I will not be using the idea of using fire word on my final poster as I think it
will be too bright and I want it to be scary and a frightening mood.
• I will not be using that nun, I will be using my own actor as it will be more realistic.
• Also I will be using some of the nun but this nun is too dark and mine will be more bright so
its better to edit also I will get into trouble for copying this nun.
