From SES San Jose training in August ’08. Four hour presentation covering the basic theory of viral marketing, examples of successful and unsuccessful viral campaigns and the brainstorming plans to put together a viral campaign.
I am interested in developing executive training or professional development workshops that function as 'surprise' and 'mystery' tours and collective performance art.
I have brought a squash to the class last Friday (as a form of improvisation and surprise).
In particular, students like puzzles (the student who gets the answer first gets a dark chocolate).
If you view it as a slideshow and try to guess the answers to the puzzles, then the experience might be quite fun:)
You can find the description of this class below.
In this class that is designed as a collective performance art, we review some of the biggest names in the landscape of entertainment, creativity, and business. From space to magic, from basketball to fashion, from animation to computer games, from film music to architecture we have a trans-disciplinary tour of storytelling and creative careers. We have a series of exercises in asset creation and imagination. We have a lot of puzzles. We dream about the university of the future. However, the main actor in all of this experience (the connecting thread/anchor) is a squash.

Description: Mitchell Kapor, founder of the Electronic Frontier, wisely said that “getting information off the internet is like taking a drink from a fire hydrant. Our instant-on, hyper-connected world provides us with millions upon millions of pieces of data anytime and anyplace in a simple click. But how do we sort through all that data to reach the relevant information we seek? Can we trust the “Googlebot” to give us or our students the best of what’s there? How do we tame that massive overload of data?
The most valuable resource we have is community and shared resources. This workshop will introduce you to the curation community and the tools you’ll need to become an effective curator. Some of the tools discussed will be twitter, delicious, facebook, pinterest, tweeted times, paper.li, curated.by, scoop.it, zite, and flipboard.
Presenter: Karen Hamilton, Professor/Online Coordinator, School of Liberal Arts & Sciences, George Brown College.
From SES Training in London in February ’09. Four hour training seminar covering why a company might blog, how to form a corporate blog strategy, how to create a blogger outreach program and how to pitch.
