CM’s advisors call on Gehlot to

First India Bureau
Jaipur : A day after be-
ing appointed advisors
to CM Ashok Gehlot, the
appointees made a bee-
line for CMR on Monday
to meet and thank CM
Gehlot for the ‘trust and
honour’, along with
their close colleagues.
Sawai Madhopur
MLA Danish Abrar met
CM Gehlot and thanked
him for being appointed
as Advisor to CM. Abrar
expressed gratitude to
Sonia-Rahul-Priyanka
Gandhi for elevation.
During this time CM
Gehlot praised the ‘three
musketeer’ MLAs viz
Chetan Dudi, Danish
Abrar and Rohit Bohra.
Chetan and Rohit had
accompanied Danish to
meet CM. Praising the
trio, CM said, “The post
that Danish has been ac-
corded has been because
of advise by Rohit and
Chetan.”
Gehlot lauded the trio
several times and in re-
turn the trio gave a hum-
ble answer that it was
Gehlot’s affection to-
wards them.
Several other MLAs
also called on CM Gehlot
on Monday. MLA Johri
Lal reached CM’s resi-
dence to meet Gehlot
and his meeting created
a buzz as on Sunday, he
had expressed displeas-
ure on those who have
been inducted in the
Cabinet.
Meanwhile, after be-
coming the advisor, Dr
Rajkumar Sharma has
said that he will carry
out his role of Advisor
to CM in an emphatic
manner. “I will tour the
whole of Rajasthan and
play the role of giving
feedback to CM. My pro-
found thanks to CM for
giving me this position.
Although it is redun-
dant to advise CM, since
he knows everything.
When I was minister,
that time too I had
toured the state and a lot
of work was done in
medical field,” he said.
And then there are
those who are in despair
internally, but are stay-
ing calm and disci-
plined. One such leader
is Dr Jitendra Singh
who has presented an
example of self-control,
while his supporters are
agitated as they wanted
to see him in the Cabi-
net.

deputy CM Sachin

rhetoric against Pilot
yet again after becom-

accused Pilot of pre-
venting independent
MLAs from becoming
ministers in Cabinet.
“For this he misled
high command,
whereas independents
and BSP MLAs sup-
ported government,”
Meena said, talking to
the media on Monday.
“Independents and
former BSP MLAs
who joined Congress,
under pressure of Pi-

kept in role of contest-
ing elections in 2023,

ood teams play well when
conditions favour them but
great teams do well even
when the odds are stacked
against them. In extremely
dewy conditions, the Indian
team challenged itself to bat
first after winning the toss –
though most teams would
have preferred to chase. The
surprise move was inspired
by the idea of testing their
bowlers under difficult con-
ditions after the batsmen
would hopefully post a stiff
target on board.
At the historic Eden Gar-
dens, Team India executed
the plan to perfection. In the
process they displayed that
the early exit from the World
Cup was just be an aberration
and the team has a core com-
petence that promises a
bright future ahead in the
shortest format. The result
spoke about the one-sided-
ness of this series as India
massacred New Zealand by 73
runs and swept the series 3-0.
If tosses could win match-
es, Rohit Sharma should have
been made India’s T20 Cap-
tain much earlier. His lucky
streak continued as he won
the third toss in a row and re-
vealed that India were play-
ing Ishan Kishan and Yuzi
Chahal as the seasoned KL
Rahul and R Ashwin were
restedaheadof thetestseries.
India’s batting was at it’s
belligerent best as both Rohit
and Kishan looked to hit any-
thing pitched up. With Rohit
being his fluent self and Is-
han giving aggressive com-
pany, India raced to 69 with-
out loss in the PowerPlay
.
While Rohit pulverized the
Kiwis with his power hitting,
includingtwo6sof hisfavour-
ite pull shot, it was a special
delight to see Ishan’s breezy
knock. In his first game since
flopping against the Kiwis in
the crucial World Cup game
last month, Ishan helped his
skipper lay an ideal founda-
tion for the Men in Blue.
The introduction of left-
arm spinner Mitchell Sant-
ner, who led the Kiwis in this
game, had an immediate im-
pact as he picked up Ishan
andSuryakumarYadavinhis
very first over.
With Rishabh Pant soon
becoming Santner’s third vic-
tim through an ugly hoick,
Team India was suddenly 83
for 3 as it’s middle order woes
continued. With the imperi-
ous Rohit falling to a brilliant
one-handed reflex catch by
Ish Sodhi, India was reduced
to 103-4 though they were still
scoring at above 9 runs an
over.
A series of cameos by
Team India’s Young Guns,
however, ensured that the
momentum of the innings
never slackened. First the
two Iyers - Shreyas and Ven-
katesh – provided risk-free
batting and hit pleasing 20s
to guide India through the
middle overs. Later, Harshal
Patel and Deepak Chahar hit
some lusty blows to display
the advantage of greater
depth in batting.
Though the cameos pow-

While the entire bowling
unit functioned like a well-
oiled machine, the spell by
Venkatesh Iyer was particu-
larly pleasing.
Brought in as a seam-bowl-
ing all-rounder to replace
Hardik Pandya, Venkatesh
had not been asked to bowl so
far. But in his first three
overs for Team India he was
tight, accurate and full of
variations. As he even picked
up a wicket, Iyer seemed like
a youngster of much promise
that India should persist
with.
The 3-0 clean sweep against
the T20 World Cup finalists is
afinestartforthenewcaptain-
coach combo of Rohit and Ra-
hul. However, Dravid was in
no mood to overstate the vic-
tory
. In his usual mature and
realistic style, he pointed out
that the Kiwis were a side full
of fatigue as they had played
this series within days of the
T20 World Cup final.
Besides the impressive re-
sults,it’sthepositivesthatwill
keep the spirits high after the
debacle in the UAE.
The amazing resurgence of
Ravichandran Ashwin, the
swing and control of Bhu-
vneshwar Kumar who is get-
ting his mojo back, and the
promise of debutants Ven-
katesh Iyer and Harshal Patel
are major gains for India. The
encouraging results and the
unearthing of more options
ahead of next year’s World
Cup are a giant step in the
rightdirection.Andof course,
Rohit Sharma’s calm and col-
lected leadership is a bonus
that may enable India to de-
liver under pressure.
Overall, India were never
seriously troubled in this se-
ries which is quite impressive
given that New Zealand had
beaten India in all three world
championship formats in the
past two years. As the sides
get ready to lock horns in the
Test series beginning on
Thursday, the crushing de-
feats in the T20 format may be
quite demoralising for the Ki-
wis. India would be keen to

FARM LAWS
SC panel member says will decide on releasing
report after analysing ‘legal consequences’
Farmers sitting on a tractor shout slogans during celebrations after Prime Minister Narendra Modi
announced the repealing of the three farm laws, at Singhu Border, in New Delhi.
New Delhi: Anil J
Ghanwat, part of the
three-member Supreme
Court-appointed com-
mittee on farm laws on
Monday said he will de-
cide on whether to re-
lease the panel's report
after analysing the le-
gal consequences and
claimed that the two
other members have
given him the freedom
to take a call.
The panel, after stud-
ying the three farm laws
and consultation with
stakeholders, had sub-
mitted its report to the
apex court on March 19.
Since then, the re-
port has not been made
public despite Ghan-
wat having requested
the Chief Justice of
India in a letter dated
September 1 to release
the report in the public
domain saying its rec-
ommendations will
pave the way to resolve
the ongoing farmers'
agitation.
Speaking to PTI,
Ghanwat, President of
Shetkari Sanghatan,
said the committee met
on Monday against the
backdrop of the govern-
ment deciding to repeal
the three farm laws.
We discussed in de-
tail whether to make
the report public or not.
The other two members
gave me the freedom to
take a call on this issue.
I will decide after ana-
lysing the legal conse-
quences, if any, he
said.
The other two mem-
bers of the committee
are Ashok Gulati (agri
economist and former
chairman of Commis-
sion for Agricultural
Costs and Prices) and
Pramod Kumar Joshi
(agri economist and
Director for South
Asia at International
Food Policy Research
Institute). These two
members were not
available for com-
ments. The panel's re-
port is in ‘favour’ of
the farming commu-
nity and should be re-
leased in the public
domain in the larger
interest of the coun-
try's agriculture sector
and farmers' welfare.
Expressing dismay
over the government's
decision to repeal the
farm laws, Ghanwat
had last week said this
decision won't end the
agitation too. Because
their demand to make
MSP legal will be there.
And this decision won't
help the BJP politically
either. —PTI

This is a very unfortunate decision. Farmers were given
some freedom, but now they will be exploited as they have
been exploited since independence or since British rule.

New Delhi: Bharat Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh
Tikait on Monday said it took the farmers over a year to
make a few people understand that the three agri-related
laws were harmful for them. Addressing a massive gath-
ering of a Kisan Mahapanchayat in Lucknow, Tikait said,
“It took us over a year to make a few people realise that
the new farm laws will harm farmers.”

New Delhi: There is

New Delhi: COVID-19 inoculation for children

Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation in
India will also draw up a comprehensive plan

New Delhi: COVID-19 vaccine stocks
available with states have nearly doubled
this month, government data shows. The
country’s top group on immunisation is
also likely to meet this week to discuss
giving an additional dose or a third dose,
sources said. The high stock of vaccines

some 65 lakh a day. Any decision on
allowing additional doses will be based

Agartala/Kolkata:
TMC general secretary
Abhishek Banerjee ar-
rived in Tripura on
Monday to take part in
a campaign for civic
elections, a day after the
party’s youth leader,
Saayoni Ghosh, was ar-

was being held by Chief

Deb.
Earlier in the day, a

just before Banerjee’s
arrival. It was later
moved to a cooling pit.
Banerjee is sched-
uled to hold campaigns
for party candidates
contesting the civic
elections, to be held on

Condemning the “at-
tack” on TMC support-
ers and activists at a

Sunday, Banerjee al-
leged that the law and
order has completely
collapsed in the state.

POSTAL REG NO. JPC/010/2019-21
Suspense over…
Meanwhile, portfolios
of 5 Cabinet ministers
have been changed in-
cluding three old cabi-
net ministers and two
ministers who have
been promoted from
MoS rank. BD Kalla
has been given Educa-
tion department in
place of his previously
held portfolio of Ener-
gy and PHED. Similar-
ly, Pratap Singh
Khachariyawas has
lost Transport depart-
ment but gained Food
and Civil Supplies
while Parsadi Lal Mee-
na, who held Industry,
has now been allotted
health. Tikaram July
has been given Social
Justice and Empower-
ment instead of his
previosuly held Labor
Department and
Bhajan Lal Jatav has
been given a major de-
partment like PWD in-
stead of formerly held
Home Guard.
The Social Justice
Department has been
given to July, a minis-
ter who comes from
the Dalit community.
This department was
earlier with late Mas-
ter Bhanwarlal.
Among the minis-
ters of state, the port-
folios of Bhanwar Sin-
gh Bhati, Rajendra Ya-
dav and Sukhram
Bishnoi have been
changed. Bhati gets
Energy, Water Re-
sources and IGNP,
while he was previous-
ly minister for higher
education. Bhati has
been given an inde-
pendent charge, as a
result of which his ‘po-
litical stature’ has in-
creased manifold. It is
also a coincidence that
both Kalla and Bhati
belong to the same dis-
trict (Bikaner). More-
over, Sukhram
Bishnoi has lost
the Forest de-
partment and
given Labor
and Revenue
instead.
The ministers of
state from the old cabi-
net who retained their
portfolios are Arjun
Singh Bamani-
ya (tribal area
development)
and Subhash
Garg (tech-
nical edu-
cation).
In an in-
teresting
t u r n
of events, Vishvendra
Singh, who was sacked
from the post of minis-
ter after the Sachin
Pilot camp re-
belled last
year, has
been giv-
en back
the same
d e p a r t -
ment. Sin-
gh has been
given Tour-
ism, in addi-
tion to Civil
Aviation.
Among the
15 minis-
ters who
took oath
on Sun-
day, He-
maram Choudhary is
the senior-most MLA.
He is a six time MLA.
Ramlal Jat is a four-
time MLA
Mahendrajeet Singh
Malviya, Vishvendra
Singh, Ramesh Meena,
Brijendra Ola and Mu-
rari Meena are three-
time MLAs.
While rest of the
ministers who took
oath on Sunday are
two-time MLAs.
Following the expan-
sion, the council of
ministers in the state
has 19 cabinet minis-
ters and 10 ministers
of state. The Rajasthan
cabinet can have a
maximum of 30 minis-
ters, including the
chief minister.
Meanwhile, After
the reshuffle in the Ge-
hlot cabinet, the port-
folios of the ministers
have been divided and
an attempt has been
made to strike a bal-
ance between the Ge-
hlot-Pilot camps, but
the ‘powerful portfoli-
os’ still remain with
the pro-Gehlot minis-
ters. The Pilot camp
has not got any other
big budget department
related to the public
except Rural Develop-
ment-Panchayati Raj,
Transport and Agri-
culture Marketing.
The portfolios that
the Sachin Pilot camp
had in the cabinet be-
fore the rebellion, ex-
cept for the PWD, have
all been given back to
the ministers support-
ing him, but these are
less as compared to the
Gehlot camp. An at-
tempt has been made
to restore the ‘lost’ de-
partments to the Pilot
camp, which were held
by its members prior
to the rebellion. The
ministers of the Pilot
camp have been given
the portfolios of Rural
Development and Pan-
chayati Raj, Forest and
Environment, Trans-
port, Agriculture Mar-
keting and Estates.

ter two years.
Notably, State in-
charge Ajay Maken
held a discussion on or-
ganisation in Jaipur
with CM Ashok Gehlot
and PCC Chief GS Do-
tasra. Now Dotasara
and Ajay Maken will
hand over the list pre-
pared from Rajasthan
to National General
Secretary (Organisa-
tion) KC Venugopal for
approval. Sources re-
veal that former deputy
CM and PCC chief
Sachin Pilot wants to
adjust the leaders of his
camp in the PCC and
the executive commit-
tee of the districts as
well. In such a situa-
tion, the Congress High
Command will also dis-
cuss with Pilot.
Congress High Com-
mand has given the task
of demonstrations to all
state Congress commit-
tees against the Centre
regarding inflation and
increased fuel prices.
After announcing with-
drawal of three agricul-
ture laws, Congress is
also raising issue of
farmers’ deaths loss-
es so far in farmers’ stir.
There is a plan to capi-
talise on this as a big
failure of Centre the
party is preparing to
highlight the ‘7 years of
failure of Modi govern-
ment at the Centre’ be-
fore the public. There is
a Congress government
in Rajasthan, so a road
map is also being pre-
pared for programmes
of agitation and dharna
on a large scale in the
state.

Jaipur: Rajasthan
Housing Board Com-
missioner Pawan Arora
said on Monday that
while paintings give a
feeling of spiritual bliss
to a person, material ob-
jects provide momen-
tary happiness. “Paint-
ings give us spiritual
and mental happiness
everyday,” Arora said
while addressing the
closing ceremony of the
five-day 5th Jaipur Art
Festival organised at
Jawahar Kala Kendra.
It is noteworthy that
this art festival was or-
ganized by the Depart-
ment of Visual Arts,
Rajasthan University
and Pratibha Educa-
tional Development Re-
search Society
.
In his address on the
occasion, the Commis-
sioner said that in or-
der to preserve art, we
have to make it finan-
cially viable. “Artists
will also be able to give
their 100 percent only
when the paintings
made by them will get
appreciation and this
mode will be financial-
ly viable. Unless the
paintings made by art-
ists will not get the
right platform, till then
the purpose of art will
also not be fulfilled.
Therefore, efforts
should be made to make
the paintings made by
the artists reach as
many people as possi-
ble,” he said.
Arora claimed that
paintings have always
been his favourite. “See-
ing them gives a lot of
comfort and happiness
and there is a feeling of
positivity
. Various types
of paintings have been
seen in this festival.
The work done by the
artists on the canvas
with their own skill are
amazing,” he said
The Commissioner
also felicitated the win-
ners of various compe-
titions organised in
this art festival with
certificates and me-
mentos in the form of
prizes. Arora himself
also bought many
paintings to encourage
the artists. The festival
was attended by emi-
nent and emerging art-
ists including students
from several universi-
ties of the country
.

AROHA, EVERY PIECE OF
JEWELLERY TELLS A STORY!
ythology and heritage
has influenced art for
centuries, especially in
India, ancient Greece
and Rome. Goddess and
symbols have been used
to create powerful mes-
sages in fine art and sculpture, as
well as within wearable works,
such as jewellery
.
“Aroha comes from Sanskrit
word AROH which means to rise
or bloom. It represents the cha-
risma of the modern era wom-
en,”
Deya Chauhan creates ancient
designs into modern forms with
a touch of class and beauty
. With
designs displaying a passion for
history and tradition, the Aroha
Collection plays on a love for my-
thology and vintage.
Deya Chauhan, Founder and
Designer of Aroha by Dea Chau-
han says, “I created these designs
keeping in mind the power of
women and most of the names of
my Jewellery are inspired by god-
dess like Lakshmi, Durga, Radha
etc. Each scale is lovingly hand
carved, and precious stones are
meticulously selected to bring
the heritage, the essence of my-
thology from the pages of old
times and into the world of mod-
ern jewellery. Our pieces are de-
signed for world-explorers, his-
tory and vintage lovers, and
those who would like to add a bit
of eccentricity to their jewellery
box.”
Dating back thousands of
years, mythology helps the mod-
ern reader reflect on past civili-
zations through stories, and of-
tentimes parallel to modern soci-
ety continue to be drawn. The
earrings, necklaces have been
hand carved to put life in the col-
oured precious stones.
Inspired by mythology and
heritage, Deya created Aroha in
2020, to showcase her love of old-
world techniques and motifs.
Deya Chauhan puts an edgy and
modern spin on sentimental, sus-
tainable jewellery
, creating styles
that are both easily wearable and
instant heirlooms.

ashion fads are
like flings; they
keep coming
and going. But,
the one classic
that will never,
never ever
break our hearts is the
bodycon dress. It avows
to be 'the one' with its
body-hugging silhou-
ette that accentuates
our curves, just at the
right places. If you
know, you know! Seems
like it isn't just me who
believes so. Our Bolly-
wood celebrities attest
to the same and how!
Here are some B-town
beauties who make a
‘jaw-dropping, smoking
hot’ statement in body-
con dresses.
F
CELEBRITIES WHO MAKE A
CASE FOR BODYCON DRESS
B-town stars that are giving us major styling goals
with their unique spin on the classic bodycon dress
Piggy Chops with her luscious curves and
avant-garde fashion is a close runner-up. Play-
ing around with poppy colours, OTT belts and
body-swaddling co-ord sets, the global star
looks right out of the ramp every time she pos-
es for the paps. What I really appreciate about
her looks though, is how achievable they are for
fashion victims like ourselves! Just throw on a
broad belt on an LBD and you’ll be all set to take
your bodycon dress from desk to dine in no time.
Topping the charts with her under-
stated charm is Deepika Padukone!
Right from her serene white dress with
a plunging back to the cool-blue look fea-
turing a snug sky dress, cobalt trench
and strappy stilettos in the same colour
family, DP is a strong advocate of the clas-
sics. Creating a beautiful melange of west-
ern silhouettes and ethnic embroidery, the
A-lister made a head-turning statement in
a Sabya bodycon dress. She signed off her
look with a glittering Kundan choker and
kohl-rimmed eyes. From weddings to soi-
rees, winter wonderland to shopping sprees,
Padukone can truly rock this style anywhere
and everywhere!
Growing up, I had always wanted a figure as
striking as Katrina’s. I guess I’m still just
growing up..never mind! What really oomphs up
that stellar physique are Kat’s bodycon dresses.
Be it a crystal-studded mini dress for a night
out or a muted salmon one for the daytime
events, she really knows how to style these
beautiesintheirfullglory
.Whatmakesherlooks
all the more doable are easy-breezy hair waves,
dewy make-up and just a bright pop on the lips.
The bubbly girl of Bollywood, Jacqueline
Fernandez, is not too far off with her cas-
ual approach to the bodycon dress. Papped
in a black and white striped snug dress, she
truly looked like a girl-next-door. To add to
the glamour quotient, she opted for a shim-
mery bodycon gown fgeaturing a thigh high
slit and a plunging neckline. Well, I can to-
tally see myself aping this look the next
time I wear a bodycon dress.

It fought the BJP tooth and nail in West Bengal and it is ready to take on the ruling party in Tripura which is TMC’s new ground, along with Goa, for khe- la hobe. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb could inadvertently be helping the TMC’s cause by using high-handed measures as was done against Sayani Ghosh for “disturbing” a poll rally of Deb. By no stretch of imagina- tion could the TMC leader be hauled up for “attempt to mur- der”. Ghosh, the TMC’s state president in Tripura, is in jail. Trinamool MPs took the mat- ter up in Delhi and sat on dhar- na outside Union Home Minis- ter Amit Shah’s residence seek- ing an appointment to brief him about the development. T rime Minister’s announcement on the three farm laws passed in 2020 has embold- ened the Sanyukta Kisan Morcha to press ahead with more demands like a sepa- rate law guaranteeing mini- mum support price and sack- ing of Ajay Mishra, the Un- ion Minister of State for Home, from the Union minis- try . The recent roll- back of farm bills could at best be described as a tactical move and those who think that the Prime Minister will succumb to pressure one moretimearelivinginafools’ world and here’s why . Punjab was never in BJP’s kitty so that wouldn’t be much of a worry and winning a few ex- tra seats with Captain Ama- rinder Singh’s help will be good enough. In UP the party is putting in all its resources to ensure victory . Three top leaders---Amit Shah, JP Na- dda and Rajnath Singh---have been assigned the responsi- bility of galvanising party workers by addressing booth level presidents in six regions of the state. Behind them is the organizing capability of theRSS.TheworryintheBJP could be on whether it will win 300 plus seats. DON’T UNDERESTIMATE MODI’S STRENGTH They are both wrong in their assessment of PM Narendra Modi. He may have taken a step back but to expect him to go down on his knees is naïve. Even if ground reports from Uttar Pradesh and Punjab are not encouraging P India cruise to 3-0 clean sweep as Rohit and young guns shine ! ood teams play well when conditions favour them but great teams do well even when the odds are stacked against them. In extremely dewy conditions, the Indian team challenged itself to bat first after winning the toss – though most teams would have preferred to chase. The surprise move was inspired by the idea of testing their bowlers under difficult con- ditions after the batsmen would hopefully post a stiff target on board. At the historic Eden Gar- dens, Team India executed the plan to perfection. In the process they displayed that the early exit from the World Cup was just be an aberration and the team has a core com- petence that promises a bright future ahead in the shortest format. The result spoke about the one-sided- ness of this series as India massacred New Zealand by 73 runs and swept the series 3-0. If tosses could win match- es, Rohit Sharma should have been made India’s T20 Cap- tain much earlier. His lucky streak continued as he won the third toss in a row and re- vealed that India were play- ing Ishan Kishan and Yuzi Chahal as the seasoned KL Rahul and R Ashwin were restedaheadof thetestseries. India’s batting was at it’s belligerent best as both Rohit and Kishan looked to hit any- thing pitched up. With Rohit being his fluent self and Is- han giving aggressive com- pany, India raced to 69 with- out loss in the PowerPlay . While Rohit pulverized the Kiwis with his power hitting, includingtwo6sof hisfavour- ite pull shot, it was a special delight to see Ishan’s breezy knock. In his first game since flopping against the Kiwis in the crucial World Cup game last month, Ishan helped his skipper lay an ideal founda- tion for the Men in Blue. The introduction of left- arm spinner Mitchell Sant- ner, who led the Kiwis in this game, had an immediate im- pact as he picked up Ishan andSuryakumarYadavinhis very first over. With Rishabh Pant soon becoming Santner’s third vic- tim through an ugly hoick, Team India was suddenly 83 for 3 as it’s middle order woes continued. With the imperi- ous Rohit falling to a brilliant one-handed reflex catch by Ish Sodhi, India was reduced to 103-4 though they were still scoring at above 9 runs an over. A series of cameos by Team India’s Young Guns, however, ensured that the momentum of the innings never slackened. First the two Iyers - Shreyas and Ven- katesh – provided risk-free batting and hit pleasing 20s to guide India through the middle overs. Later, Harshal Patel and Deepak Chahar hit some lusty blows to display the advantage of greater depth in batting. Though the cameos pow- eredIndiatoahealthy183,itis undeniablethatthereisalotof room for improvement in the middle order. As they wobbled again around the 15-16th over mark, it was the late order flourishthatensuredanabove par total to defend.Repeated stuttersinthemiddleoversare an area that Team India needs to rectify on priority . When the Kiwis came out to bat, Axar Patel rocked their run-chase with a brilliant spell. Once he picked up three quick wickets, the Kiwis were peggedbackdecisively .Despite afine50fromGuptill,NewZea- landneverrecoveredandwere bowledoutforapaltry111,giv- ing India their biggest-ever win in terms of runs against the Kiwis in T20 games. While the entire bowling unit functioned like a well- oiled machine, the spell by Venkatesh Iyer was particu- larly pleasing. Brought in as a seam-bowl- ing all-rounder to replace Hardik Pandya, Venkatesh had not been asked to bowl so far. But in his first three overs for Team India he was tight, accurate and full of variations. As he even picked up a wicket, Iyer seemed like a youngster of much promise that India should persist with. The 3-0 clean sweep against the T20 World Cup finalists is afinestartforthenewcaptain- coach combo of Rohit and Ra- hul. However, Dravid was in no mood to overstate the vic- tory . In his usual mature and realistic style, he pointed out that the Kiwis were a side full of fatigue as they had played this series within days of the T20 World Cup final. Besides the impressive re- sults,it’sthepositivesthatwill keep the spirits high after the debacle in the UAE. The amazing resurgence of Ravichandran Ashwin, the swing and control of Bhu- vneshwar Kumar who is get- ting his mojo back, and the promise of debutants Ven- katesh Iyer and Harshal Patel are major gains for India. The encouraging results and the unearthing of more options ahead of next year’s World Cup are a giant step in the rightdirection.Andof course, Rohit Sharma’s calm and col- lected leadership is a bonus that may enable India to de- liver under pressure. Overall, India were never seriously troubled in this se- ries which is quite impressive given that New Zealand had beaten India in all three world championship formats in the past two years. As the sides get ready to lock horns in the Test series beginning on Thursday, the crushing de- feats in the T20 format may be quite demoralising for the Ki- wis. India would be keen to takethisconfidenceandclean sweep the test series too!! THE VIEWS EXPRESSED BY THE AUTHOR ARE PERSONAL G If tosses could win matches, Rohit Sharma should have been made India’s T20 Captain much earlier. New Delhi: Anil J Ghanwat, part of the three-member Supreme Court-appointed com- mittee on farm laws on Monday said he will de- cide on whether to re- lease the panel's report after analysing the le- gal consequences and claimed that the two other members have given him the freedom to take a call. The panel, after stud- ying the three farm laws and consultation with stakeholders, had sub- mitted its report to the apex court on March 19. Since then, the re- port has not been made public despite Ghan- wat having requested the Chief Justice of India in a letter dated September 1 to release the report in the public domain saying its rec- ommendations will pave the way to resolve the ongoing farmers' agitation. Speaking to PTI, Ghanwat, President of Shetkari Sanghatan, said the committee met on Monday against the backdrop of the govern- ment deciding to repeal the three farm laws. We discussed in de- tail whether to make the report public or not. The other two members gave me the freedom to take a call on this issue. I will decide after ana- lysing the legal conse- quences, if any, he said. The other two mem- bers of the committee are Ashok Gulati (agri economist and former chairman of Commis- sion for Agricultural Costs and Prices) and Pramod Kumar Joshi (agri economist and Director for South Asia at International Food Policy Research Institute). These two members were not available for com- ments. The panel's re- port is in ‘favour’ of the farming commu- nity and should be re- leased in the public domain in the larger interest of the coun- try's agriculture sector and farmers' welfare. Expressing dismay over the government's decision to repeal the farm laws, Ghanwat had last week said this decision won't end the agitation too. Because their demand to make MSP legal will be there. And this decision won't help the BJP politically either. —PTI A volunteer carrying tray of sweet rice to distribute among protesting farmers against farm laws to be repealed by govt. • 10. We can learn more from observing nature than in a classroom-From rivers, the wind, the oceans and more... —Jagdeesh Chandra, CEO Editor-in-Chief, First India JAIPUR | TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2021 www.firstindia.co.in I www.firstindia.co.in/epaper/ I twitter.com/thefirstindia I facebook.com/thefirstindia I instagram.com/thefirstindia 08 2NDFRONT POSTAL REG NO. JPC/010/2019-21 Suspense over… Meanwhile, portfolios of 5 Cabinet ministers have been changed in- cluding three old cabi- net ministers and two ministers who have been promoted from MoS rank. BD Kalla has been given Educa- tion department in place of his previously held portfolio of Ener- gy and PHED. Similar- ly, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas has lost Transport depart- ment but gained Food and Civil Supplies while Parsadi Lal Mee- na, who held Industry, has now been allotted health. Tikaram July has been given Social Justice and Empower- ment instead of his previosuly held Labor Department and Bhajan Lal Jatav has been given a major de- partment like PWD in- stead of formerly held Home Guard. The Social Justice Department has been given to July, a minis- ter who comes from the Dalit community. This department was earlier with late Mas- ter Bhanwarlal. Among the minis- ters of state, the port- folios of Bhanwar Sin- gh Bhati, Rajendra Ya- dav and Sukhram Bishnoi have been changed. Bhati gets Energy, Water Re- sources and IGNP, while he was previous- ly minister for higher education. Bhati has been given an inde- pendent charge, as a result of which his ‘po- litical stature’ has in- creased manifold. It is also a coincidence that both Kalla and Bhati belong to the same dis- trict (Bikaner). More- over, Sukhram Bishnoi has lost the Forest de- partment and given Labor and Revenue instead. The ministers of state from the old cabi- net who retained their portfolios are Arjun Singh Bamani- ya (tribal area development) and Subhash Garg (tech- nical edu- cation). In an in- teresting t u r n of events, Vishvendra Singh, who was sacked from the post of minis- ter after the Sachin Pilot camp re- belled last year, has been giv- en back the same d e p a r t - ment. Sin- gh has been given Tour- ism, in addi- tion to Civil Aviation. Among the 15 minis- ters who took oath on Sun- day, He- maram Choudhary is the senior-most MLA. He is a six time MLA. Ramlal Jat is a four- time MLA Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya, Vishvendra Singh, Ramesh Meena, Brijendra Ola and Mu- rari Meena are three- time MLAs. While rest of the ministers who took oath on Sunday are two-time MLAs. Following the expan- sion, the council of ministers in the state has 19 cabinet minis- ters and 10 ministers of state. The Rajasthan cabinet can have a maximum of 30 minis- ters, including the chief minister. Meanwhile, After the reshuffle in the Ge- hlot cabinet, the port- folios of the ministers have been divided and an attempt has been made to strike a bal- ance between the Ge- hlot-Pilot camps, but the ‘powerful portfoli- os’ still remain with the pro-Gehlot minis- ters. The Pilot camp has not got any other big budget department related to the public except Rural Develop- ment-Panchayati Raj, Transport and Agri- culture Marketing. The portfolios that the Sachin Pilot camp had in the cabinet be- fore the rebellion, ex- cept for the PWD, have all been given back to the ministers support- ing him, but these are less as compared to the Gehlot camp. An at- tempt has been made to restore the ‘lost’ de- partments to the Pilot camp, which were held by its members prior to the rebellion. The ministers of the Pilot camp have been given the portfolios of Rural Development and Pan- chayati Raj, Forest and Environment, Trans- port, Agriculture Mar- keting and Estates. It is believed that most of the appointments will be made before the gov- ernment completes three years in Decem- ber. For this, State Con- gress President Govind Singh Dotasra reached Delhi. Many disgruntled leaders will be adjusted in appointments to be made in state organisa- tion. Dotasra will hold detailed discussion with State in-charge Ajay Maken about ap- pointment of PCC working committee, district presidents, block presidents their executive committee will also be formed. Through these appoint- ments, thousands of Congress leaders and workers will be given position, so that the or- ganisation can be acti- vated for the assembly elections to be held af- ter two years. Notably, State in- charge Ajay Maken held a discussion on or- ganisation in Jaipur with CM Ashok Gehlot and PCC Chief GS Do- tasra. Now Dotasara and Ajay Maken will hand over the list pre- pared from Rajasthan to National General Secretary (Organisa- tion) KC Venugopal for approval. Sources re- veal that former deputy CM and PCC chief Sachin Pilot wants to adjust the leaders of his camp in the PCC and the executive commit- tee of the districts as well. In such a situa- tion, the Congress High Command will also dis- cuss with Pilot. Congress High Com- mand has given the task of demonstrations to all state Congress commit- tees against the Centre regarding inflation and increased fuel prices. After announcing with- drawal of three agricul- ture laws, Congress is also raising issue of farmers’ deaths loss- es so far in farmers’ stir. There is a plan to capi- talise on this as a big failure of Centre the party is preparing to highlight the ‘7 years of failure of Modi govern- ment at the Centre’ be- fore the public. There is a Congress government in Rajasthan, so a road map is also being pre- pared for programmes of agitation and dharna on a large scale in the state. Goddess and symbols have been used to create powerful mes- sages in fine art and sculpture, as well as within wearable works, such as jewellery . “Aroha comes from Sanskrit word AROH which means to rise or bloom. It represents the cha- risma of the modern era wom- en,” Deya Chauhan creates ancient designs into modern forms with a touch of class and beauty . With designs displaying a passion for history and tradition, the Aroha Collection plays on a love for my- thology and vintage. Deya Chauhan, Founder and Designer of Aroha by Dea Chau- han says, “I created these designs keeping in mind the power of women and most of the names of my Jewellery are inspired by god- dess like Lakshmi, Durga, Radha etc. Each scale is lovingly hand carved, and precious stones are meticulously selected to bring the heritage, the essence of my- thology from the pages of old times and into the world of mod- ern jewellery. Our pieces are de- signed for world-explorers, his- tory and vintage lovers, and those who would like to add a bit of eccentricity to their jewellery box.” Dating back thousands of years, mythology helps the mod- ern reader reflect on past civili- zations through stories, and of- tentimes parallel to modern soci- ety continue to be drawn. The earrings, necklaces have been hand carved to put life in the col- oured precious stones. Inspired by mythology and heritage, Deya created Aroha in 2020, to showcase her love of old- world techniques and motifs. Deya Chauhan puts an edgy and modern spin on sentimental, sus- tainable jewellery , creating styles that are both easily wearable and instant heirlooms.
