This document discusses the design of a 13.5 MHz RFID antenna for near field communication applications. It begins with an overview of NFC technology and its use in applications like contactless payments. It then covers the design theory for NFC loop antennas and discusses modeling the antenna as an inductor. Simulation results showing return loss and smith charts are presented for the designed antenna. The document also proposes a block diagram for an NFC transceiver chip and simulates the antenna design using ADS software. Key results like improved communication distance and return losses are highlighted. In conclusion, the new antenna design is said to double the operating distance of existing NFC systems.
