1. The writing fits very well with the style
of the music (RAP), this is because rap
posters want to grab peoples attention
with curly writing and plain and bold.
2. There is not just one font on this
poster, there are loads this is because
the designer of this poster did not
want to make it boring having just one
font so they did more fonts on it.
Colour:
The designer of this rap poster did not just do one colour
because it won’t grab the audiences attention, so this designer
did 4 colours to make it look interesting and grab peoples
attention. Also they made some words on the rap poster the
colour white so it will stand out from the black background.
Layout:
The designer did not put the
words in one place on the rap
poster, the designer put some
words on the left, middle, right
of the page. They did this to
make it grab the audiences
attention. And also the
designer put all the rap artists
name at the bottom of the
poster and put the title of the
poster at the top of the page.
Audience appeal:
The designers audience will probably buy this poster due to the artists that are on it, colour, layout. And these are the
reasons below:
1. Colour – The designer made some writing the colour white to make it stand out to their audience.
2. Layout – The writing it’s not just in one place on the rap poster, for example some are on the left of the Rap poster
and some are in the middle of the Rap poster and finally some are on the right of the rap poster. This will make the
audience want to but this rap poster because there’s not a lot of rap posters that have writing in the middle of the
page.
3. Artists – The designers thought to put some famous Rap artists on the rap poster to get the audience to buy it.

Audience research
• Observation: This is about Gender. This bar chart above shows 72.73% is male and 27.27% is female.
This audience of mine is from my class in york college.
• What this says about my audience:
This means I should target towards more to male but still target towards female.
• How will your product appeal to this audience:
To appeal to my audience (which is mainly men) I will need to put what they would like on the poster for
example male artists or a model or even a sports car. I will also need to put certain colours to attract their
attention and the mood of the style of music which is rap.

• Observation:
The bar chart shows 90.91% are 16-19yrs old and 09.09% are 20yrs old.
• What this says about my audience:
Most of my audience are 16-19yrs old whilst some of them are 20yrs old. This means I need to have an idea
of what that age range (16-19yrs old) likes so that I can make it appeal to them, for example the colour of my
poster and the design and the layout.
• How will your product appeal to this audience:
My product will definitely appeal to my audience because the style of the music is mostly listened to by that
age range, so my choice of music fits very well with my audience.

• Observation:
This graph shows 63.64% chose black and red for my rap poster whilst 36.36% chose white and black.
• What this says about my audience:
This bar chart shows that most of my audience chose black and red, this is because there are many posters
show them colours due to the type of music (RAP).
• How will your product appeal to this audience:
My product will appeal to my audience because it has high content of black and red.
Audience research
• Observation:
This bar chart shows that 63.64% chose artists as their answer for what they usually see on a rap poster
whilst 9.09% of my audience chose models and finally 27.27% chose sports cars.
• What this says about my audience:
Most of my audience have seen artists on RAP posters but some of my audience have seen sports cars on
rap posters, and finally only a small amount people have seen models on rap posters.
• How will your product appeal to this audience:
These results I have been given is very helpful because it allows me to make my product appeal to my
audience as much as possible. From these results I now know what I can put on my rap poster which is artists
due to the percentages on the bar chart.
Audience research
• Observation:
This bar chart shows 45.45% chose Eminem to be featured on my rap poster whilst 18.18% chose Ice cube to be featured on my
rap poster, and finally 36.36% chose snoop dogg to be featured on my rap poster.
• What this says about my audience:
Just looking at the bar chart it shows that Eminem is the most popular demand and then its snoop dogg and then Ice Cube is the
least popular out of the 3 choices my audience were given.
• How will your product appeal to this audience:
For my product to appeal to my audience I will need to put the most popular demand which is Eminem. I will put Eminem latest
albums to gain my audiences attention even more. I will put suitable fonts that is clear to read and fits with the type music I have
chosen which is RAP (smooth fonts)

• Observation:
This bar chart shows 80% of my audience chose albums to be featured on my rap poster whilst 20% of my audience chose prizes
to be featured on the Rap poster, finally 50% of my audience chose information about when the festivals will start.
• What this says about my audience:
Most of my audience chose albums to feature on the rap poster of mine whilst a little amount of my audience chose prizes to be on
the rap poster, now finally some of my audience chose festival information to be on the rap poster.
• How will your product appeal to this audience:
With the results I have been given I know instantly what I ‘am going to put on the rap poster of mine which is albums because it
has the biggest percentage out of all 3 of them.

This bar chart shows that 18.18% of my audience chose key ring as my second product to make whilst 72.73% of my audience
chose album cover to be my next product to make, now finally 45.45% of my audience chose T-shirt as my next product to make.
• What this says about my audience:
Just looking at the bar chart nearly 3 quarters of my audience chose album covers whilst some of my audience chose T-shirt and
also only a little amount of my audience chose key ring.
• How will your product appeal to this audience:
By looking at my results I know straight away that I should make a album cover as my second product just because of the high
percentage (72.73%). If I had more time I would of made another product which will be T-shirt due to because its percentage being
closer to the album cover percentage (2nd place).

Interviews
Interview 1
Which rap artist would you like on my rap poster? Why?
• Sugarhill Gang because they were one of originals of rap. Or De La Soul as they had
quirky lyrics and came across as hippy rappers.
What colours would be suitable for my rap poster? Why? Light colours as both Sugarhill
gang and de la soul were happy sounding and not nasty gangster rap, which was
rubbish.
Do you prefer information about when the rap artists are singing live at a festival or
information about prizes? Why? Festival or live gigs, not prizes because I’m more
interested in the memories and the experience of going to live gigs.
Interview 1
• Observation:
The interviewee was dressed smartly but did not put enough effort to the questions that
were given, there was not enough detail or grammar.
• What this says about my audience:
This shows my interviewee did not think properly and rushed it, due to lack of detail.
• How will your product appeal to this
audience:
My product not appeal to this interviewee because that person wants to see light colours
and positive atmosphere, my product will have dark colours and a artist (Eminem) with
negative attitude.
Interview 2
Which rap artist would you like on my rap poster? Why?
I would like to see “Eminem” on your rap poster because it would be nice to see what he
looks like now and if he has changed his way of fashion. I would like to see Eminem on
your rap poster because I haven’t seen much of Eminem on anything so if you put him on
the rap poster it would be amazing.
What colours would be suitable for my rap poster? Why?
I think black and red would be suitable colours because many posters I have seen over
the years has included dark colours, this might be because rap is all about negativity and
power so dark colours fit very well within my rap poster.
Do you prefer information about when the rap artists are singing live at a festival or
information about prizes? Why?
What I would like to see on your Rap poster is information about when the rap artists are
singing live at a festival. The reason why I would like that on your rap poster because I
don’t know when the next one is, so if you did include the date of when it is starting that
would be great.
Interview 2
• Observation:
The interviewee was wearing T-shirt which had a famous band called “ Royal Blood”
which is good because it shows that person is putting the effort in his interest in music.
The interviewee also put a lot of detail when it came to answering the questions and also
the grammar was quite good
• What this says about my audience:
This shows my interviewee did not rush it instead he spent time thinking on how he was
going to respond to the question and ended up putting a lot of detail.
• How will your product appeal to this audience:
The interviewee seems interested in my product because it will have dark colours and
have Eminem featured on the rap poster.

  • 2. Existing Product Font: 1. The writing fits very well with the style of the music (RAP), this is because rap posters want to grab peoples attention with curly writing and plain and bold. 2. There is not just one font on this poster, there are loads this is because the designer of this poster did not want to make it boring having just one font so they did more fonts on it. Colour: The designer of this rap poster did not just do one colour because it won’t grab the audiences attention, so this designer did 4 colours to make it look interesting and grab peoples attention. Also they made some words on the rap poster the colour white so it will stand out from the black background. Layout: The designer did not put the words in one place on the rap poster, the designer put some words on the left, middle, right of the page. They did this to make it grab the audiences attention. And also the designer put all the rap artists name at the bottom of the poster and put the title of the poster at the top of the page. Audience appeal: The designers audience will probably buy this poster due to the artists that are on it, colour, layout. And these are the reasons below: 1. Colour – The designer made some writing the colour white to make it stand out to their audience. 2. Layout – The writing it’s not just in one place on the rap poster, for example some are on the left of the Rap poster and some are in the middle of the Rap poster and finally some are on the right of the rap poster. This will make the audience want to but this rap poster because there’s not a lot of rap posters that have writing in the middle of the page. 3. Artists – The designers thought to put some famous Rap artists on the rap poster to get the audience to buy it.

  • 5. Audience research • Observation: This is about Gender. This bar chart above shows 72.73% is male and 27.27% is female. This audience of mine is from my class in york college. • What this says about my audience: This means I should target towards more to male but still target towards female. • How will your product appeal to this audience: To appeal to my audience (which is mainly men) I will need to put what they would like on the poster for example male artists or a model or even a sports car. I will also need to put certain colours to attract their attention and the mood of the style of music which is rap.

Audience research • Observation: The bar chart shows 90.91% are 16-19yrs old and 09.09% are 20yrs old. • What this says about my audience: Most of my audience are 16-19yrs old whilst some of them are 20yrs old. This means I need to have an idea of what that age range (16-19yrs old) likes so that I can make it appeal to them, for example the colour of my poster and the design and the layout. • How will your product appeal to this audience: My product will definitely appeal to my audience because the style of the music is mostly listened to by that age range, so my choice of music fits very well with my audience.

Audience research • Observation: This graph shows 63.64% chose black and red for my rap poster whilst 36.36% chose white and black. • What this says about my audience: This bar chart shows that most of my audience chose black and red, this is because there are many posters show them colours due to the type of music (RAP). • How will your product appeal to this audience: My product will appeal to my audience because it has high content of black and red.

Audience research • Observation: This bar chart shows that 63.64% chose artists as their answer for what they usually see on a rap poster whilst 9.09% of my audience chose models and finally 27.27% chose sports cars. • What this says about my audience: Most of my audience have seen artists on RAP posters but some of my audience have seen sports cars on rap posters, and finally only a small amount people have seen models on rap posters. • How will your product appeal to this audience: These results I have been given is very helpful because it allows me to make my product appeal to my audience as much as possible. From these results I now know what I can put on my rap poster which is artists due to the percentages on the bar chart.

Audience research • Observation: This bar chart shows 45.45% chose Eminem to be featured on my rap poster whilst 18.18% chose Ice cube to be featured on my rap poster, and finally 36.36% chose snoop dogg to be featured on my rap poster. • What this says about my audience: Just looking at the bar chart it shows that Eminem is the most popular demand and then its snoop dogg and then Ice Cube is the least popular out of the 3 choices my audience were given. • How will your product appeal to this audience: For my product to appeal to my audience I will need to put the most popular demand which is Eminem. I will put Eminem latest albums to gain my audiences attention even more. I will put suitable fonts that is clear to read and fits with the type music I have chosen which is RAP (smooth fonts)

Audience research • Observation: This bar chart shows 80% of my audience chose albums to be featured on my rap poster whilst 20% of my audience chose prizes to be featured on the Rap poster, finally 50% of my audience chose information about when the festivals will start. • What this says about my audience: Most of my audience chose albums to feature on the rap poster of mine whilst a little amount of my audience chose prizes to be on the rap poster, now finally some of my audience chose festival information to be on the rap poster. • How will your product appeal to this audience: With the results I have been given I know instantly what I ‘am going to put on the rap poster of mine which is albums because it has the biggest percentage out of all 3 of them.

Audience research • Observation: This bar chart shows that 18.18% of my audience chose key ring as my second product to make whilst 72.73% of my audience chose album cover to be my next product to make, now finally 45.45% of my audience chose T-shirt as my next product to make. • What this says about my audience: Just looking at the bar chart nearly 3 quarters of my audience chose album covers whilst some of my audience chose T-shirt and also only a little amount of my audience chose key ring. • How will your product appeal to this audience: By looking at my results I know straight away that I should make a album cover as my second product just because of the high percentage (72.73%). If I had more time I would of made another product which will be T-shirt due to because its percentage being closer to the album cover percentage (2nd place).

  • 14. Interview 1 Which rap artist would you like on my rap poster? Why? • Sugarhill Gang because they were one of originals of rap. Or De La Soul as they had quirky lyrics and came across as hippy rappers. What colours would be suitable for my rap poster? Why? Light colours as both Sugarhill gang and de la soul were happy sounding and not nasty gangster rap, which was rubbish. Do you prefer information about when the rap artists are singing live at a festival or information about prizes? Why? Festival or live gigs, not prizes because I’m more interested in the memories and the experience of going to live gigs.

Interview 1 • Observation: The interviewee was dressed smartly but did not put enough effort to the questions that were given, there was not enough detail or grammar. • What this says about my audience: This shows my interviewee did not think properly and rushed it, due to lack of detail. • How will your product appeal to this audience: My product not appeal to this interviewee because that person wants to see light colours and positive atmosphere, my product will have dark colours and a artist (Eminem) with negative attitude.
  • 16. Interview 2 Which rap artist would you like on my rap poster? Why? I would like to see “Eminem” on your rap poster because it would be nice to see what he looks like now and if he has changed his way of fashion. I would like to see Eminem on your rap poster because I haven’t seen much of Eminem on anything so if you put him on the rap poster it would be amazing. What colours would be suitable for my rap poster? Why? I think black and red would be suitable colours because many posters I have seen over the years has included dark colours, this might be because rap is all about negativity and power so dark colours fit very well within my rap poster. Do you prefer information about when the rap artists are singing live at a festival or information about prizes? Why? What I would like to see on your Rap poster is information about when the rap artists are singing live at a festival. The reason why I would like that on your rap poster because I don’t know when the next one is, so if you did include the date of when it is starting that would be great.

Interview 2 • Observation: The interviewee was wearing T-shirt which had a famous band called “ Royal Blood” which is good because it shows that person is putting the effort in his interest in music. The interviewee also put a lot of detail when it came to answering the questions and also the grammar was quite good • What this says about my audience: This shows my interviewee did not rush it instead he spent time thinking on how he was going to respond to the question and ended up putting a lot of detail. • How will your product appeal to this audience: The interviewee seems interested in my product because it will have dark colours and have Eminem featured on the rap poster.
