2. Existing Product
This is a recent product that is similar to my own as it has the same setting I would like mine to be
in. The location used for this game is at night with stars and the moon, it helps to show the
audience that it is Christmas eve. This is the same location as I would like my game as it sets the
Christmas scene and makes it easier to see what the game is about.
Another similarity is that presents are dropping down from the sleigh this is an idea I am going to
include in my game. This makes the game appeal more to the target audience of 3+ and over.
The games will be similar also as it will include the same characters as they instantly suggest
Christmas and will grabs peoples attention. Santa and the reindeers will used and a similar layout
with the houses and the sleigh.
The angle of the game is going to be the same as you can see the game clearer and see what is
coming up and understand the game fast and have time to know what to do. It makes the game
more simple and quicker to play.
The lighting used throughout the game will be darker at the top of the game as it shows the sky
and the weather on the game but it will be lighter at the bottom of the game where the houses are
as they are the main focus throughout the game
It will appeal to my audience as it is Christmassy and entertaining to play.
3. Existing Product
This existing product is similar to mine as it is having a sleigh going through the sky at night.
The angle of the game is the same angle as I would like as you are able to see the whole of the
game and the setting around it, this helps with the game as the setting is used to set the game so
you can see what its about and it also makes it easier to see what's coming up and to understand
the game faster.
The colour scheme used in the sky is the same I would like to use in my game as it shows that it is
night time and that is the same I will use for my game.
The background uses a lot of detail on the other features e.g. the clouds, from the detail you are
able to see that they are clouds. I would like to make sure I include detail on the features on my
background as it makes it look more realistic and effective.
This will appeal to my audience as it is going to grab attention and entertain my audience by the
theme.
4. Existing Product
This existing product is an older version on how I would like mine to be, it doesn’t use the same
colour range but has a similar layout with the houses and it being night.
A sleigh is used on the game which is the same as I want mine to include one.
The angle is the same angle as I want my game so you can see what is coming up in the game, it
also helps with playing the game by getting ready
The location of the game is similar to mine as it is set outside on a night and the houses are seen.
The lighting used on the game is the same as mine as it is darker at the top to show the sky and the
mountains and lighter at the bottom making the houses stand out to show the focus of the game.
Using characters such as Santa on my game will help appeal to my target audience as it attracts the
right people to be interested in my game as the characters and the type of game will get people
excited for the Christmas season.
