Dsm-5 Case Study Psychology
DSM 5 DIAGNOSIS AND CASE STUDY OVERVIEW The DSM diagnosis that is selected for the
client in week four case study is Schizoid Personality Disorder. Schizoid Personality Disorder, also
known as SPD; is considered when an individual s interest in social relationships is absent. Individuals
that are affected by this disorder display an unsociable or sheltered existence, secretive,
emotionlessness, and somewhat indifferent (Triebwasser, Chemerinski, Roussos Siever, 2012).
Researchers believe that Personality Disorder, also known as PD, should be esteemed qualitatively
and quantitatively, from normal personality (Paris, 2015). Diagnostic criteria from the DSM 5 offer

To conclude, the client from week four case study expressed all seven diagnostic criteria from the
DSM 5 in regards to Schizoid Personality Disorder (APA, 2013). This is the rationale for SPD being
the chosen disorder, the client s expressed emotion, behavior and perspectives match these diagnostic
criteria better than other disorder diagnostic criteria. Preceding a client being diagnosed with SPD,

Myofascial Release
Myofascial Release And Why It s also For You
Myofascial Release is a very reliable type of bodywork that helps to minimize pain and stiffness, and
offers you back your energy. It is also called manual treatment, or hands on therapy/ recovery. It is a
mild kind of stretching and balancing which has a profound result upon the body tissues.
There are numerous different kinds of myofascial release. Physiotherapists whom are specialized
trained by John Barnes have remarkable devices to assist you. He is the founder of the most widely
allowed, gentle and reliable kind of myofascial release.
To understand how this connects to your body better it might help to comprehend a little about the

Often remarkable improvement is kept in mind immediately during or after a treatment. In some cases

these are normal reactions of the body to the profound, however positive, modifications that have
actually occurred by releasing the fascial constraints. Any and all of these responses must be

Alleviation Of Poverty In Developing Countries
Alleviation of poverty is one of the major goals of developing countries and international assistance
agencies. Poverty eradication and promoting sustainable development are the two most important
challenges faced by the world. For the achievement of this goal raising education levels, offering
comprehensive medical services, improving lifestyles, and a nation s openness to trade and investment
are the important objectives that needs more attention. Poverty leads to stagnant economies. Trade
benefits are different in every country and some developing nations do not get positive impacts of
volume of their exports. Poverty is not only lack of income, it includes various concepts such as
social, economic, and political elements. Developing countries depend upon economic and national
growth for the eradication of poverty. Rural areas have poorer access to education and health but
people usually live in healthier and safer environments. (wadel 2016)
Developing countries have become convinced that trade can have significant effects on their total
income and on their development. Most believe that the effects of climate change will be particularly
damaging to poor countries, while some of the measures proposed to mitigate it could provide
significant financial benefits. Although they are not the most important or direct policy instruments
against poverty, the outcomes of trade and climate change negotiations matter. Some countries made
gains on agriculture and

Internet Usage Addiction
Internet Usage
The internet refers basically to the worldwide interconnection of computer networks that use a
standard protocol called internet protocol suite. The internet serves several billion people worldwide
and has become the most preferred mode of communication between people from different parts of the
world. This has led to it rampant usage and as much as it has noticeable benefits, its limitations cannot
be overlooked either. Internet addiction in teenagers or to say adolescents has been estimated to be
12% in China, 19.4% in Korea and 8% in Greece approximately (Lin).
To start with, usage of the internet leads to addiction. While the time spend in the internet might be
highly productive, compelling use of the internet can ultimately interfere with your work, the daily
life, and a larger extent interfere with relationships. It leads to a disorder commonly known as Internet
Addiction Disorder (IAD). It is commonly referred to internet overuse, which leads to, interference of
daily normal life. This disorder has undergone several researches and valid data have been received
supporting it. IAD covers a wide variety of impulse control problems including the following
(Walton);

The Use Of Bpa And Its Effects On The World
Polycarbonate plastic is everywhere. Manufacturers make about 2.7 million tons of plastic containing
BPA each year. It s used in screwdriver handles, eyeglass lenses, DVDs, CDs, and food containers.
Although versatile and durable, polycarbonate contains a controversial chemical called bisphenol A,
or BPA. Some studies have linked BPA exposure to a variety of health problems. Bisphenol has many
forms, but its most common is Bisphenol A, also known as BPA. In this paper, I will address the
history of BPA, the ecological effect of using it in polycarbonates, and an interesting solution to the
issue at hand. This innovation totally changed the game when it was first introduced. But, the chemist

Polycarbonates started out in fuse boxes, plug connections and glazes for public buildings.
Polycarbonates soon became popular for many other uses, such as plastic bottles and linings for metal
based food and beverage cans. The use of polycarbonates for food packaging easily received approval
in the 1960s by the FDA under its food additive regulations.
During the early 1990s, Dr. Feldman became the first researcher to identify the possible impact of low
levels of BPA. Feldman and his team discovered an estrogenic molecule while growing yeast in plastic
flasks in 1992. They discovered the yeast wasn t synthesizing the estrogen, but rather it was leaching
from the plastic. The team then performed a control experiment without the yeast in the flask, and they
found there was still an estrogenic molecule present, which they later identified as BPA. Once they
made the connection between polycarbonate, BPA and estrogenic activity, Feldman and his team
contacted a major producer of polycarbonates. It turns out, the company had already looked into the
leeching issue, but after using their own methods, they said they couldn t find any estrogenic activity.
Other studies soon popped up, including the University of Missouri Columbia that found low level
exposure to BPA may harm the prostate. Over the next decade, reports on low dose BPA toxicity will
grow to include more than 100

Feed is another zombie book that answers the question: What would happen to the news if the dead
rose. The angle they took was blogging; people became professional bloggers, and no one would
follow the major news because they were too slow. While CNN would potentially be saying man from
car crash rises and starts biting people while the blog would say is this the first zombie and a few
people would start buying water and non perishable food. Similarly Fox is saying, The Dead are

it tells the story of a news website that took a chance and struck it big. Feed can relate to adults and

expected to do an adult s job and be responsible for producing professional content and work. and can
convey how they feel. I believe that this book is better than Harry Potter because it doesn t get
ridiculous in the events that are told. Kodi Rodgers got nominated into an elite group and ended up
going to the presidential inauguration ball. Things like that make the book believable.
Feed is written about teenagers and it lets you feel their attitude and depression or agitation, and it
doesn t use the weak route of a romantic subplot to progress characters. The book uses death and
betrayal and drama and things that can happen in someone s real life, it makes george come to life and

both teens are pulled out of the car and shoved around a little. They are both told that they are under

Now that I have discussed the use of force and whether it is excessive or not I will begin to answer the
original question posed. Does the family of the teens have any legal recourse available to them, and if
so what is available to them? The answer to this is yes the families definitely have legal recourse
available to them for a number of reasons. The first mistake the officers made was pulling over the
teens because they thought they might have been involved in a recent string of burglaries. That right
there is a violation of the teens Fourth Amendment to have probable cause to stop them in the first
place. Police officers have to have probable cause or more than a hunch to pull someone over. The
scenario said nothing about the car was pulled over because maybe a witness saw the car leaving the
scene of the crime, or maybe the officer had a description of the suspect and they matched it, he just
thought they might be involved. Secondly, they did question the teens and because of their responses
the officer becomes angry and pulls the teens out of the car. The officer had no right to pull the teens
out of the car because of what they said.

Dalton Russell s Semantic Techniques In The Film Inside Man
It began with his most elaborate plan to commit the perfect bank robbery. Dalton Russell (Clive
Owen) uses his cunning abilities to rob a bank, alongside his crew, by holding hostages and making
them all dress with similar apparel to mislead the police. As the police rush to the scene, a Detective
Keith Frazer (Denzel Washington) is put in charge of the case to negotiate with the robbers.
Throughout the film, Russell is always two steps ahead of the police. He manages to bug the police
and as a result, he is aware of everything they are planning. In one scene of the movie Detective
Frazer thinks he knows what kind of man Russell is and to disprove him Russell stages an execution
of a hostage. The bank owner, having found out of the occurrences happening at his bank, hires
Madeleine White (Jodie Foster) to protect the information, he kept in a secret safe deposit box, from
coming out by any means necessary. This is an essential part of the movie as the contents of the box

The Ethnic Issues of the Bedouins
Bedouins ethnic issues Abstract The focus of ethnicity and ethnic issues in the Middle East has been
associated with the Arabs in the Palestine and the Jews in Israel. Research carried in the previous
researches confirmed that these issues are directly or indirectly affected by the political disputes. In a
sample of the students who were involved in the research, 46.9% ranked the religion to be the major
factor of the formation of the identity. Some students said that the term Israel was not the appropriate
identity and a section about 50% said that Palestine was the right identity. When given six ways of
characterising the identities, that is the Arab, Israeli, Israeli Arab, Palestinian Arab, Israeli Palestinian,
and Palestinian. Palestinian Arab received the more endorsement by around 34%, followed by the
Israeli Arab by 30%, Arab followed by approximately 20%, then Israeli Palestinian by 11.7% and
Palestinian 4% the remaining 2.9% characterised themselves as Israelis. The implications of these data
are discussed in this work. Introduction A lot of discussion and literature has focussed on the Arab
Bedouins of the Negev, with respect to the impact of the state of Israeli and the attempts to settle the
groups considered to be semi nomadic, the above groups have specifically have caught the attention of
the Israeli scientists, however, they have not addressed the issues of ethnic identities of the Bedouin

Metaphors in the King James Bible The King James Bible is a translation of the Bible. Older
translations were more difficult to comprehend. As a result, King James demanded that a new
translation be made to better accommodate the readers. In this translation, metaphors and other literary
devices are presented. In the King James Bible, metaphors are used to provide examples of God s
teachings, to help the audience obtain a better understanding of the text, and to evoke readers into
remembering the wise expressions displayed.

Green Winter Through The Kick Starter Website
In efforts to grow the Seedfolk City Farm, Barker initiated Operation Green Winter through the kick
starter website, Indiegogo. This was a community focused urban agriculture project that helped raise
funds to continue operating the greenhouses during the winter. It also enabled them to provide
consistent year round after school employment for four of the young people that helped to get the
project off the ground. This campaign was in addition to several community events held in efforts to
raise money for the green winter . This was as a result of weather implications in Rochester, NY,
which prevented them from growing fresh fruits and vegetables. The pilot aquaponic farming system
would winterize the greenhouse by sustaining a year round farming operation that enabled them to
triple production capabilities with four new vertical grow beds. Not only did the money raised help
physically make these changes possible, but it also provided the youth with more after school
activities as a result of these expansions.
ProsperRochester has relied on its partnerships to achieve its goals. In order to establish these
greenhouses, ProsperRochester teamed up with In The City/Off The Grid. ICOG is a Rochester based
cooperative business that offers solar installation services and general construction services, while
engaging in community development projects and employee training. Thankfully, ICOG was able to

Persuasive Essay On Professional Athletes
Professional athletes are some of the most admired and scrutinized people in the world. Some of the
most recognizable people in popular culture are athletes; Forbes annual list of the 100 Most Popular
Celebrities in the World lists three athletes in the top 20 (Cristiano Ronaldo, LeBron James, and
Lionel Messi, respectively), and thirty one in the entire list (Forbes). While this list is extremely
objective, the immense popularity, athletes is undeniable. Hundreds of millions of people attend at
least one professional sporting event each year, and athletes are seen as leaders in our society, both on
and off the playing field. However, the fact that people hold athletes to such extreme standards is not
necessarily fair. The freedom to promote their own personalities should be contractually ensured for
professional athletes because the freedom to promote their own personalities helps them be a more
complete person and balance their own personal lives and interests with their professional lives. The
freedom to wear what they want, say what they believe in, do what they want, and just be the person
that they are makes it so that there are athletes who can be role models to everyone of all beliefs.
Without this freedom, athletes are one dimensional figures who are created and controlled by the
population, which takes away from their opportunity to become people that can set good examples for
children. Davis 2

Apocalyptic Survivors In The Epic Of Gilgamesh
Apocalyptic Survivors
Each of the sacred texts of Christianity, Greek Polytheism, Ancient Macedonian Religion, and
Judaism outlines an apocalypse myth which illustrates a near end of the world, and in each myth, the
gods or God select survivors. Although each religion is unique, there are some stark similarities
among the myths including the methods used to attack the world and the way the survivors rescue
themselves and others. Some religious texts portray one person saving people who will repopulate the
Earth, but others describe a group of people or even a small population withstanding the apocalypse.
Investigating several religious texts reveals that even though some apocalyptic trends remain constant
throughout each belief, the selection and utilization of humans by the higher power changes slightly
between each myth. The Epic of Gilgamesh contains an apocalyptic myth where a god indirectly
chooses a survivor to rescue the human race, and he receives a blessing from the gods in return for his
bravery and success. In the epic about ancient Mesopotamian religion, Utnapishtim tells Gilgamesh
the story of how he became immortal after surviving the gods downpour. Utnapishtim lived on the
banks of the Euphrates in a town called Shuruppak when the great gods decided to send down the
Deluge. Each of the gods swore on this plan, and chose to keep it secret. However, one god named Ea
yelled his swear at a wall: Abandon wealth and seek survival! Spurn property, save life!

PHL 305: AFRICAN SOCIAL AND POLITICAL THOUGHT
QUESTION: TAKE ONE AFRICAN SOCIO POLITICAL PHILOSOPHER AND DISCUSS:
A. HIS POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY
B. THE PROBLEM HE TRIED TO SOLVE

African socialism was one of the earliest theories proffered by many African leaders at the outset of
independence. Leaders such as Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Julius Nyerere, Obafemi Awolowo and Leopold
Senghor all supported this concept but had different approaches to it.
In this essay, my focus will be on Julius Nyerere and his approach to the idea of African socialism.

In the area of achieving self reliance by African states particularly Tanzania, Nyerere developed an
educational philosophy which could be approached under two main headings; Education for Self
reliance and Adult education. His interest in Self reliance shares a great deal with Gandhi s approach
to Basic Education . There was a strong concern to counteract the colonialists assumptions and
practices of the dominant, formal means of education, which he saw as enslaving and oriented towards
western interest and norms. It was designed to transmit the values of the colonizing power and to train
individuals for the service of the colonial state. It induced attitudes of subservience, human inequality
and individualism, and emphasized white collar skills. The context of colonial education was largely
alien and the entire system was organized by racial segregation. For Nyerere who was once a teacher
himself, he believed that education had to work for the common good, foster co operation and
promote equality. He asserted that the school curriculum should go hand in hand with de emphasizing
the import of formal examinations which merely assesses a person s ability to learn facts. He said it

Parenthesis In Virginia Woolf
Now, when the reader wants to know more about what Jacob does in his room, the author introduces
the other characters at Cambridge, like Professor Huxtable, Sopwith, and Erasmus Cowman
consequently. Since the sequence of events in inner life is not logical, and even thoughts themselves
are sporadic, random and inconclusive, the action is presented in fragments. The move or break in the
narration makes it fragmentary, and it creates a kind of difficulty to maintain the harmony of the
incidents. The entire novel is set in a form where there is never any concrete explanation of what is
happening and why is happening. Rather, it is left on reader to find the link between the scattered
events. Parenthesis: Virginia Woolf makes use of parenthesis in her writing for the different purposes.

French and English. Similarly, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, a play written by William
Shakespeare, Romeo shows his enthusiasm upon catching sight of Juliet and expresses that he believes
that she is the most magnificent girl Romeo had ever met. Considering what both of these sources say
about how males reveal their emotions, it allows us to believe that when a man feels an intense

1.5. 52 53). Romeo in the quote conveys his emotions about Juliet by mentioning verbally that, that
night was the first time he had seen true beauty and that no one can compare to Juliet. Likewise, in
Michelle, the narrator of the song sees the beauty of the woman he is discussing within the lyrics, and
acting upon this through words. The male narrator wants the woman he is talking to to know
something and expresses it by saying, I will say the only words I know that You ll understand
Michelle, ma belle Sont les mots qui vont tres bien ensemble Tres bien ensemble . (Doc 1). The male
character s choice of words in this part of the song is essential because he is communicating that he
needs Michelle to understand that he is inspired by her beauty and has a desire for her. Moreover,
upon noticing Juliet, Romeo realizes that she is different from other girls that has met and done things
with. Romeo remarks about Juliet, Beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear! (1.5. 47). Until seeing
Juliet, Romeo had been used to using girls, but after laying eyes on her, he recognizes that she is worth
much more than that and is inspired to change just for

Social Inequalities Within New Zealand Essay
This essay will be discussing the social inequalities within New Zealand. These inequalities can
include unequal income, education and healthcare. Through extensive research of academic resources,
I will be discussing how educational, family, social and political factors contribute to the development
of these inequalities. I will also be providing a line graph that shows the unequal income between
classes and a second line graph that demonstrates the difference in student success between high
decile and low decile schools.
Society holds many structures that mould human performance and produce opportunities for some, but
inequalities for others (Morrall, 2009). These structures in society are organized by the hierarchies of
class, ethnicity and gender (Crossman, 2016). Due to having a society based on hierarchies, social
inequalities are inevitable. Social inequality refers to the ways in which a group or individual of a
certain social position may receive unequal opportunities or distribution of goods such as education,
income, living conditions and healthcare (Walker, 2009). These unequal opportunities may be given to
someone because of their ethnicity, gender, income, religion or social class (Walker, 2009). For
example, people in a high social class will be able to pay for their children to go to a good private
school for a good education, whereas lower class or working class people will struggle to afford the
same education.

Similarities Between Han China And Imperial Rome
Imperial Rome and Han China were two of the biggest empires during the Classical period. They
shared many of the same qualities, yet they had little to no contact with one another. Imperial Rome
and Han China were similar because they used ideologies to control their citizens rather than religion,
and they were different because Han China had an extensive educated bureaucracy as opposed to
Rome s authoritarian government based on military power.
Han China and Imperial Rome used ideologies to shape their society. In Han China, Confucianism
was used as a basis to control its bureaucrats and citizens. This ideology, created by Confucius,
encouraged moral and cultural unity. It encouraged respect towards authority, and set guidelines for
how an individual should act towards people above their social class and people below their social
class. Han rulers created one of the first civil service tests, requiring applicants to have an
understanding of Confucianism and other early writings to become a bureaucrat. This resulted in a ...

During this period, China had an extensive educated bureaucracy composed of citizens from any class.
The bureaucrats were educated with principles of Confucianism, and Chinese literature. This was the
governing class. The bureaucrats were respected by members of the lower classes and controlled the
local areas. The emperor ruled through the instructions given to the bureaucracy. Imperial Rome had a
single authoritarian ruler who was in control of the country because of the power of his military. The
tyrant ruled through laws imposed on the citizens. Local governments in the Roman Empire had more
autonomy than its Chinese counterparts. Aristocrats were trusted to control their regions. China ruled
through its bureaucrats enforcing Confucian values while Rome established laws for the country, but

Abby Lee Dance Analysis
Being a psychology major, I tend to enjoy dances that appeal to emotion through stories. The dance
that I decided to write this paper on is a small group contemporary piece performed by the Abby Lee
Dance Company. This dance has a sad theme to it, as it deals with the topic of suicide. They use props
including a table and three telephones to add creativity to the piece. This dance is interesting to me
because of the affiliation it has to mental illness, which is personally important to me. This dance,
called Suicide Hotline, features a dancer in a white costume who is going through a tough time, she is
the focus of the group dance. Three other dancers, dressed in black, are there to help her and in a sense
hold her up , literally, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since they have a table as their prop, we get to see a different aspect of levels than you normally
would if the girls were only on the floor. During this dance, there are moments where girls are laying
on the floor and someone could be standing on the table. There are other times where a girl is laying
down on the table while the others stand behind her. Other times, they could all be on the floor, but
one girl could be standing and the others are lying or sitting on the floor. Throughout the entire dance,
they are moving around on the floor, table, or standing up on either one. I find this to be extremely
appealing because it allows our eyes to focus on different moments or on certain dancers, which is
mainly the dancer who is the focus of the group. The table provides a different experience with levels
that we would not see if they were just dancing on the

Homelessness And Its Effects On Society
It s time to declare a war on homelessness, which is evolving into a crisis, proclaimed Mayor Kirk
Caldwell in The Honolulu Star Advertiser. (Katel, 841 864) Homelessness has become a widely
known issue in the United States. Many people today are living in the streets without a source of food,
water, or a place to sleep at night. Some who are among the homeless include the elderly, children,
and those who are mentally ill. This is a cause for concern for citizens who are living their daily lives.
Some people express their fear of homeless persons, believing that they are just beggars for money
and take up space on the streets. Although the description homeless people is not always true,
homelessness does affect society and puts the future generation at risk of becoming homeless as well.
People need to bring attention to the homeless problem across the United States so action can be taken
and change will take place.
Homelessness can be divided into two groups: people who are homeless, and those who are
chronically homeless. According to The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD),
homelessness includes those who are living in dwellings unfit for human habitation, in emergency
shelters or temporary housing, and/or leaving such a place. (Katel, 841 864) On the other hand, those
who are considered chronically homeless are usually homeless for one or more years and have a
disability or some kind of addiction. Today, homelessness is not a new issue America is

Qualitative Ethnography
This study was a qualitative ethnography exploring g perspectives on the customers of strip clubs and
the stigma that comes with being a regular customer. I hypothesized that people would be more likely
to perceive strip club patrons in an unfavorable light. For this study I did in depth interviews with
three people, two men and one woman.
American television is a visual banquet of deviant behaviors, impossible situations and sexism. In the
media strip clubs are depicted as sleazy bars with cheaply made furniture and ostentatious decorations.
With few exceptions, the dancers are scripted as bimbos, drug addicts, manipulative and promiscuous.
The customers are depicted as pathetic, ugly and in all ways undesirable. One salient example of this

Stereotypes In Higher Education
From overt to subtle, prejudices and stereotypes in the United States sustains a widespread, structured
institutional presence in culture, law, and psychology and remains one of the greatest determinants of
inequality (Ladson Billings Tate, 1995). A ubiquitous misconception is often posited that Black males,
an underrepresented and highly stereotyped group on higher education campuses, utterly and
unequivocally share similar experiences and backgrounds (Harper Nichols, 2008). Conceivably, some
misconceptions generated about Black male undergraduate students can be attributed to changing
demographics in higher education and the acknowledgement of differences between established races.

Happiness In Albert Camus The Myth Of Sisyphus
Albert Camus understanding of happiness is explained through his perspective of The Myth of
Sisyphus.Towards the end of the story, Sisyphus punishment for forsaking the orders of Pluto was to
push a large rock up a mountain for all eternity. The Greeks believed this to be the cruelest punishment
a mortal could be given. The idea of a meaningless task being done over and over again is what some
might call absurd. One might think that happiness is not possible in such circumstances. A moment of
gratification cannot be seen as something desirable if the same task is to be repeated. However, Camus
believes otherwise. the purpose is achieved... and Sisyphus watches the stone rush down in a few
moments toward lower world whence he will have to push it up again toward the summit. He goes
back down to the plain. (4) The significance of Sisyphus going down the mountain to repeat his task is
explained by Camus. Through accepting the meaningless task, Sisyphus also accepts his unfair fate.
He is calm and at peace with himself despite the absurdity of his punishment. It could be understood
that although the task may be meaningless, Sisyphus is able accept his fate and continue to move ...

A virtue is a state of character that sits on the mean between excess and deficiency. He believes
happiness is about having balance in life. The extremes of states of characters are called vices. Vices
are states of character that a person would usually not be proud of, like greed or envy. However,
having vices is not improbable. Aristotle said, For moral excellence is concerned with pleasures and
pains; it is on account of the pleasure that we do bad things and on account of the pain that we abstain
from noble ones (3). People will often fray into their vices to obtain monetary happiness. Although
Aristotle believes being virtuous is what is needed to be sustainably happy, even he understands that

Public Participation At San Diego Unified District School...
Public participation is an important aspect of any community and benefits realized from inculcating it
in the system of any public setup treats any possible problem. Some of the core merits any public
institution produces is enabling the community to participate in decision making and planning. For
this reason, they are more likely to interact with established mechanisms. Moreover, apart from
helping bring about a sense of community, public participation enables institutions to set goals and
objectives that suit that long term service delivery. San Diego Unified district school is among the
many educational centers in the United States that have embraced this useful method to warrant
continuous progress. Therefore, they recently organized a school board meeting on 27th September
2016 to provide an update on what was going on in the institution as well give the public an
opportunity to discuss their concerns and contributions. This paper analyzes the nature and role of
public participation in uniting the community and institutions that serve its members. Evidently,
although the meeting had some hitches in terms of short notices and low ethnic representation, it was
successful because the community and the institution discussed agenda and non agenda matters and
settled for proposals to increase engagement in the future.
The meeting was intended to highlight key issues as stipulated in the agenda. These were recognizing
achievements of Maya Salameh who won a national poetry

Brief Summary Of Buttercup And The Princess Bride
Once upon a time there was a young girl who lived on a farm and for the longest time it didn t seem

boy, Westley. Westley had to go to America to make money so him and Buttercup could have a

My personal favorite lesson in the novel is that it s alright to lie if it s for a good reason. To start off
the story, Goldman tells the readers that his father read the story to him while he was sick. The readers
get sucked into this heart warming story and want to read the rest of it, only to find out that the whole
story was built on a lie. Goldman wrote the story himself but he makes more of a connection to the
audience if he says he was sick when he heard the story. The whole foundation of the story is a lie but
none of the readers seem to care since the novel is such a great story. The end of the book is not a final
slam the book and now there isn t anything further to think about kind of book. Goldman s father lies
to him about the ending and just says that they live happily ever after. It is hard to tell a kid that the
couple has to spend their life on the run from Prince Humperdinck. After all, we all lie to our children
to make them happy. We tell them that the Tooth Fairy left the quarter under their pillow, and the
Easter Bunny left all the eggs in the yard, and finally everyone s favorite, Santa Claus left the presents
under the tree. It makes much more sense to tell the silly little lie to make the kids happy then to tell
the truth and watch the light drain from their happy

Domestic Violence Related Crime Throughout West Virginia
Domestic violence is a universal problem that can affect an individual of any age, gender, race,
education level, social class, or culture. This type of violence is considered to be one of the most
widespread public health crises in the United States (Black et al., 2011). The purpose of this essay is to
create a plan for a program that addresses domestic violence related crime in West Virginia. To begin,
significant information in relation to domestic violence will be provided. This will be followed by the
program plan, which will include seven steps: an analysis of the problem, identification of goals and
objectives, development of a program design, development of an action plan, development of a plan to

Although women can be perpetrators, they are more often the victims of abuse than men. According to
Blair, McFarlane, Nava, Gilroy, and Maddoux (2015), 92 percent of domestic violence offenders are
male (p. 23). Domestic violence perpetrators that become involved in the criminal justice system are
overwhelmingly male offenders between the ages of 18 and 35 years old. Data from studies conducted
in the United States have revealed that a significant amount of male abusers have had some type of
previous contact with the criminal justice system. It should be noted that this contact includes positive
and negative encounters. Since abusers come from all walks of life, they can be respected law abiding
members of their communities or unpopular individuals with a criminal history. There are no set
standards or explicit personality traits that wholly identify abusers. However, researchers have
identified certain indicators and risk factors that may predispose one to become an abuser (U.S.
Department of Justice, 2009).
One dominant attribute of domestic violence is the rate of recurrence for substance use or abuse in
domestic violence incidents. Researchers have determined that there is an extremely high correlation
between the use of these substances and domestic assaults. Research endorsed by the National
Institute of Justice has established that

Mobile
Phones are used by remote users so we can say it s the communication on move. The evolution
Of mobile technology starts from 1G, and now we are using 4G in our daily life. Let s have a
Brief discussion on the topic: (Faisal, march, 2010)
2 First Generation (1G) This technology was first used in July, 1978 and the mobiles of that age are
used for only
Voice transformation and one way voice transformation. It uses 25 MHz bandwidth frequency
Allocated from one station to the cell phone and 25 MHz bandwidth frequency allocated for cell
phone to the station. The 1G technology uses frequency division media access (FDMA) through which
the users have to wait for the other user s reply. (Faisal, march, 2010)
3 Second Generation (2G) Because of the remarkable popularity of these cell phones the technology
changes its
Trends and change the way of communication by introducing a new technology called second
generation (2G). It was firstly used in 1991 and in this technology the new communication way
Was introduced which solve the problem of multiple users on the network and fully encrypted
Digital way was introduced instead of analogue way. (Faisal, march, 2010)
4 Third Generation (3G): Because of the much demand by the people it was felt that there must be
some better communication then 1G or 2G. The third generation is also one of the finest ways of
communication even now a day. 3G uses 2.5 GHz band

Hernan Cortes Analysis
Hernan Cortes s first encounter narrative, besides justifying his illegal trip to Mexico, displays the
cultural and spiritual roles colonization played when he conquered the Aztecs. Cortes displays a very
eurocentric outlook, for they had left their native land so long ago and as I had only recently arrived
from there, I would better know the things they should believe (Cortes 58), the native land (Cortes 58)
Cartes refers to is Europe. With this idea that Europe being the nucleus of the world signifies that
Cortes has a cultural and religious duty to return these long lost Europeans back to the fold. Cortes
having painted his view of the world creates a sense of belonging for him and all of Spain, in that
since all life orginates in Europe all life and prosperity in the world is simply waiting to be plundered.
He goes about this plundering by using Christianity as a moral justification for the colonization of the
native population. He begins by destroying idols (Cortes 58) and setting up images , presumably of
Christ, God, or The Virgin Mary, as they are superior to that of the natives and simply is what they
should believe (Cortes 58) . This narrative of cultural and spiritual superiority is echoed in John
Heckewelder s retelling of the Lenni Lenape (Heckewelder 68) colonization myth wherein a group of
Dutch missionaries visit the new world and are revered as God s. Before they depart they distribute
gifts among the natives of beads, axes, hoes, and stockings only to return on their second voyage to
see the natives wearing them as ornaments (Heckewelder 70) wherein the whites laughed . Now
Heckewelder s purpose in relaying this oral tradition is very similar to Cortes s it s to display the
cultural and spiritual superiority of the Christian in helping the natives for they are too stupid to help
themselves. Where they differ is that in the Lenni Lenape (Heckewelder 68) tradition this colonization
myth ,for me, serves as a warning to the tribe. For while Heckewelder s original intention was most
likely to display European superiority whether advertently or inadvertently it s original intention was
to serve as a warning where if the Lenni Lenape (Heckewelder 68) continued to allow the

The Effect Of Cultural Difference On Correspondence Bias
We examined the effect of cultural difference on correspondence bias. The aim of this study was to
compare levels of correspondence bias in attitude attributions in Malaysians with levels of such bias in
Australians where is individualistic. We had 40 participants from Malaysia and 40 participants from
Australia between the ages 18 30 year olds. The study was entirely in the English language; also it was
administered on the internet. We recruited participants via English language Facebook advertisements.
The participants completed tasks evaluating their age, gender and nationality. Based on the essay
content condition, the participants were divided in half; half of the participants were asked to read an
essay that opposed capital punishment (anti capital punishment), on the other hand the other half read
an essay that supported capital punishment (pro capital punishment). Participants were asked to write
an essay according to their choice condition half of them had no choice condition and the other half
had choice condition. The results of this research were that correspondence bias does emerge in both
Malaysian and Australian participants. In conclusion our study looked at correspondence bias in two
different cultures. The finding of our study was that correspondence bias emerges in both Malaysian
and Australian participants. On daily bases we as humans act differently, our attitudes are different; the
way each of us behaves could be very different too. Imagine you are

Some studies have linked BPA exposure to a variety of health problems. Bisphenol has many forms, but its most common is Bisphenol A, also known as BPA. Polycarbonates started out in fuse boxes, plug connections and glazes for public buildings. Polycarbonates soon became popular for many other uses, such as plastic bottles and linings for metal based food and beverage cans. The use of polycarbonates for food packaging easily received approval in the 1960s by the FDA under its food additive regulations. During the early 1990s, Dr. Feldman became the first researcher to identify the possible impact of low levels of BPA. Feldman and his team discovered an estrogenic molecule while growing yeast in plastic flasks in 1992. They discovered the yeast wasn t synthesizing the estrogen, but rather it was leaching from the plastic. The team then performed a control experiment without the yeast in the flask, and they found there was still an estrogenic molecule present, which they later identified as BPA. Once they made the connection between polycarbonate, BPA and estrogenic activity, Feldman and his team contacted a major producer of polycarbonates. It turns out, the company had already looked into the leeching issue, but after using their own methods, they said they couldn t find any estrogenic activity. Other studies soon popped up, including the University of Missouri Columbia that found low level exposure to BPA may harm the prostate. Over the next decade, reports on low dose BPA toxicity will grow to include more than 100 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Does the family of the teens have any legal recourse available to them, and if so what is available to them? The answer to this is yes the families definitely have legal recourse available to them for a number of reasons. The first mistake the officers made was pulling over the teens because they thought they might have been involved in a recent string of burglaries. That right there is a violation of the teens Fourth Amendment to have probable cause to stop them in the first place. Police officers have to have probable cause or more than a hunch to pull someone over. The scenario said nothing about the car was pulled over because maybe a witness saw the car leaving the scene of the crime, or maybe the officer had a description of the suspect and they matched it, he just thought they might be involved. Secondly, they did question the teens and because of their responses the officer becomes angry and pulls the teens out of the car. The officer had no right to pull the teens out of the car because of what they said. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Dalton Russell (Clive Owen) uses his cunning abilities to rob a bank, alongside his crew, by holding hostages and making them all dress with similar apparel to mislead the police. As the police rush to the scene, a Detective Keith Frazer (Denzel Washington) is put in charge of the case to negotiate with the robbers. • 16. Green Winter Through The Kick Starter Website In efforts to grow the Seedfolk City Farm, Barker initiated Operation Green Winter through the kick starter website, Indiegogo. This was a community focused urban agriculture project that helped raise funds to continue operating the greenhouses during the winter. It also enabled them to provide consistent year round after school employment for four of the young people that helped to get the project off the ground. This campaign was in addition to several community events held in efforts to raise money for the green winter . This was as a result of weather implications in Rochester, NY, which prevented them from growing fresh fruits and vegetables. • 18. Persuasive Essay On Professional Athletes Professional athletes are some of the most admired and scrutinized people in the world. Some of the most recognizable people in popular culture are athletes; Forbes annual list of the 100 Most Popular Celebrities in the World lists three athletes in the top 20 (Cristiano Ronaldo, LeBron James, and Lionel Messi, respectively), and thirty one in the entire list (Forbes). While this list is extremely objective, the immense popularity, athletes is undeniable. Hundreds of millions of people attend at least one professional sporting event each year, and athletes are seen as leaders in our society, both on and off the playing field. However, the fact that people hold athletes to such extreme standards is not necessarily fair. The freedom to promote their own personalities should be contractually ensured for professional athletes because the freedom to promote their own personalities helps them be a more complete person and balance their own personal lives and interests with their professional lives. The freedom to wear what they want, say what they believe in, do what they want, and just be the person that they are makes it so that there are athletes who can be role models to everyone of all beliefs. Without this freedom, athletes are one dimensional figures who are created and controlled by the population, which takes away from their opportunity to become people that can set good examples for children. • 19. Apocalyptic Survivors In The Epic Of Gilgamesh Apocalyptic Survivors Each of the sacred texts of Christianity, Greek Polytheism, Ancient Macedonian Religion, and Judaism outlines an apocalypse myth which illustrates a near end of the world, and in each myth, the gods or God select survivors. Although each religion is unique, there are some stark similarities among the myths including the methods used to attack the world and the way the survivors rescue themselves and others. Some religious texts portray one person saving people who will repopulate the Earth, but others describe a group of people or even a small population withstanding the apocalypse. Investigating several religious texts reveals that even though some apocalyptic trends remain constant throughout each belief, the selection and utilization of humans by the higher power changes slightly between each myth. The Epic of Gilgamesh contains an apocalyptic myth where a god indirectly chooses a survivor to rescue the human race, and he receives a blessing from the gods in return for his bravery and success. In the epic about ancient Mesopotamian religion, Utnapishtim tells Gilgamesh the story of how he became immortal after surviving the gods downpour. Utnapishtim lived on the banks of the Euphrates in a town called Shuruppak when the great gods decided to send down the Deluge. Each of the gods swore on this plan, and chose to keep it secret. It was designed to transmit the values of the colonizing power and to train individuals for the service of the colonial state. Through extensive research of academic resources, I will be discussing how educational, family, social and political factors contribute to the development of these inequalities. I will also be providing a line graph that shows the unequal income between classes and a second line graph that demonstrates the difference in student success between high decile and low decile schools. Society holds many structures that mould human performance and produce opportunities for some, but inequalities for others (Morrall, 2009). These structures in society are organized by the hierarchies of class, ethnicity and gender (Crossman, 2016). Due to having a society based on hierarchies, social inequalities are inevitable. Social inequality refers to the ways in which a group or individual of a certain social position may receive unequal opportunities or distribution of goods such as education, income, living conditions and healthcare (Walker, 2009). These unequal opportunities may be given to someone because of their ethnicity, gender, income, religion or social class (Walker, 2009). For example, people in a high social class will be able to pay for their children to go to a good private school for a good education, whereas lower class or working class people will struggle to afford the same education. Some who are among the homeless include the elderly, children, and those who are mentally ill. This is a cause for concern for citizens who are living their daily lives. Some people express their fear of homeless persons, believing that they are just beggars for money and take up space on the streets. Although the description homeless people is not always true, homelessness does affect society and puts the future generation at risk of becoming homeless as well. • 35. Hernan Cortes Analysis Hernan Cortes s first encounter narrative, besides justifying his illegal trip to Mexico, displays the cultural and spiritual roles colonization played when he conquered the Aztecs. Cortes displays a very eurocentric outlook, for they had left their native land so long ago and as I had only recently arrived from there, I would better know the things they should believe (Cortes 58), the native land (Cortes 58) Cartes refers to is Europe. With this idea that Europe being the nucleus of the world signifies that Cortes has a cultural and religious duty to return these long lost Europeans back to the fold. Cortes having painted his view of the world creates a sense of belonging for him and all of Spain, in that since all life orginates in Europe all life and prosperity in the world is simply waiting to be plundered. He goes about this plundering by using Christianity as a moral justification for the colonization of the native population. He begins by destroying idols (Cortes 58) and setting up images , presumably of Christ, God, or The Virgin Mary, as they are superior to that of the natives and simply is what they should believe (Cortes 58) . This narrative of cultural and spiritual superiority is echoed in John Heckewelder s retelling of the Lenni Lenape (Heckewelder 68) colonization myth wherein a group of Dutch missionaries visit the new world and are revered as God s. Before they depart they distribute gifts among the natives of beads, axes, hoes, and stockings only to return on their second voyage to see the natives wearing them as ornaments (Heckewelder 70) wherein the whites laughed . Now Heckewelder s purpose in relaying this oral tradition is very similar to Cortes s it s to display the cultural and spiritual superiority of the Christian in helping the natives for they are too stupid to help themselves. Where they differ is that in the Lenni Lenape (Heckewelder 68) tradition this colonization myth ,for me, serves as a warning to the tribe.
