visiting with friends and family. Altogether, these results indicate an independent association between
frequent, longer naps and restrictions in daytime functioning among community dwelling older adults,
especially among those who nap. Napping may be sign of daytime sleepiness which may lead to
restrictions in valued activities. Our findings are similar to those of studies on excessive daytime
sleepiness (EDS) that have utilized self reported napping as a marker for EDS. One community based
