Damien Hirst Art Work Essay

Bring Forth the Fruits of Righteousness from Darkness The artist of whose work I observed
was Damien Hirst. He was born June 7 1965 and is an English artist, entrepreneur and art
collector. The piece of art I observed was Bring Forth the Fruits of Righteousness from Darkness
, it is a gloss covered canvas covered by real butterfly wings and household paint. It is set up to
resemble three stained glass windows from a gothic cathedral. The piece is on display at the
Cleveland Museum of art and on loan for five years. The work of art showcases Hirst s theme of
death that is shown in many of his pieces. Damien Hirst became famous for his artwork in
preserving dead animals. His works have included cows, sheep, sharks, ... Show more content on

Damien Hirst is a Conceptual artist because his work most often takes precedence over and
traditional matters or ideas. This is shown by his work with dead animals and preserving them,
which is most often frowned upon. Hirst is known to be a contemporary artist with his work
being very modern and spread throughout the country in galleries, exhibits, and even private
collections. The Cleveland Museum of Art holds Damien Hirst s Bring Forth the Fruits of
Righteousness from Darkness on special loan for five years. It also holds many different
exceptional pieces that include Asian and Egyptian art, and its own Picasso collection. It holds
43,000 works of art from around the world. The Museum holds so much history and offers free
admission to its public to come and absorb some of world s greatest works of art the Cleveland is
lucky to have on display.
Damien Hirst is a widely known artist that is known to be one of the richest artists to be alive
today. His work moves many people for many different reasons and is known for its controversy,
beauty, and eccentric style. We are lucky to have his work on display in the Cleveland Museum of

The importance of Integrity and Honesty in criminal...
Integrity and Honesty
Integrity can be defined as an uncompromising adherence to a code of moral, artistic or other
values, utter sincerity, honesty and candor, avoidance of deception, expediency, artificiality or
shallowness of any kind (Webster s 3rd New International Dictionary 1174). In simpler words this
means to maintain high standards and follow the rules, even when no one is watching. Integrity is
very important in our everyday life if we wish to be good people. The sad thing is that if you ask
some people what integrity means to them they will probably tell you that it doesn t mean much
and some may not even know what integrity is. Certain people feel that in order to get ahead in
life they need to break certain rules. It is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Having a high standard of personal integrity and honesty will really help prepare one for
employment in the justice field in many different ways. Integrity and honesty is one of the most
important requirements for any criminal justice career. It is extremely important to know what is
right and wrong and to be honest no matter what the consequences if you are planning on entering
the justice field, especially a police officer. Police officers must commit to the highest moral and
ethical standards, they can t be prejudice or favor someone without knowing every single detail,
must show good personal conduct, have high integrity on and off duty, and plenty more. One
major reason to have a high standard of integrity and honesty at all times is because if you are a
person who has ever been in trouble for something that showed you had been dishonest (such as
theft, cheating, lying, and more) and you apply for a job in the justice field, they will most likely
find it no matter how off your record it supposedly is and you will not be hired. In their minds
they are most likely thinking that if you could be dishonest once then you can be dishonest again
and they don t want someone likely that employed with them. Another reason to have a high
standard of integrity and honesty at all times would be because if you were able

Censorship Is Not Limited Repressive Regimes Or Network...
Censorship is not limited to repressive regimes or network television. Weather we know it or not
censorship is happening all the time throughout the day. We censor ourselves, we listen to
censored music and as students we see the internet being heavily censored in school. The Children
s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) was signed into law in 2000; the law requires any public schools
or library to filter any inappropriate content from the computers being used by minors. Since the
law has been put in place, schools across America have installed programs that use keywords to
designate certain types of websites off limits to students while using the schools internetserver. The
problem with these filtering programs is that they block many sites that are not pornographic or
obscene in nature, Instead they tend to block sites dealing with controversial but not inappropriate
content. Although the CIPA was created to protect, it has been used as a soft form of censorshipin
schools.
The CIPA states that a library or schoolcannot receive the discounts offered by the e rate program
unless they have an internet safety policy that has technology protection measures. The filter
program must be able to filter pictures and content that are obscene, pornographic or harmful to
minors from computers that are being accessed by minors (Reitman). The CIPA has multiple major
flaws in its plan. It does not protect enough where it needs to but it over filters in other areas. The
filters are there to

The Industrial Revolution Latin America in The Nineteenth Century
в—ЏOnly Japan underwent a major industrial transformation during the Nineteenth Century.
в—ЏIndia, Egypt, Ottoman Empire, China and Latin America experimented in modern industry.
в—ЏThey were nowhere near the kind of major social transformation that had taken place in
Britain, Europe, North America and Japan.
в—ЏThe profound impact of European and North American industrialization was hard to avoid.
After Independence in Latin America
в—ЏThe struggle for independence in Latin America had lasted far longer and proved far more
destructive than in North America.
в—ЏDecimated populations, diminished herds of livestock, flooded or closed silver mines,
shrinking international trade, investment capital and empty national treasuries were among the
conditions under which Latin American faced.
в—ЏFurthermore, the four major administrative units (vice royalties) of Spanish America
ultimately dissolved into eighteen separate countries.
в—ЏPeru and Bolivia briefly united and then broke apart in a bitter conflict (1836 1839).
в—ЏMexico lost huge territories to the United States (1846 1848).
в—ЏArgentina, Brazil and Uruguay went to war with Paraguay (1864 1870) in a conflict that
devastated Paraguay s small population.
в—ЏConservatives favored centralized authority and sought to maintain the social status quo of the
colonial era in alliance with the Catholic Church.

How did American businesses go about getting big after the civil war? What role did the
government play in the rise of big business? What were the social costs of the rise of big business?
After the civil war, American economy evolved from family business to cooperate business. It was
the start of the Industrial Revolution the way good and services made and sold were transformed
through technological innovations and creative financing. There were several leading industries
because of their role in industrial revolution. Railroad were important for transportation of good
and people, coal and petroleum were important for the high demand to power the industries and
steel were needed for the infrastructures. These industries were often controlled by a small group of
businessmen. For instance, John D. Rockefeller was one of the mogul, who succeed in controlling
the petroleum industry by using mostly the horizontal integration effort, which is the practice of
taking control of the competitors. By gaining control of the oil companies, he could lower the cost,
decide the price and maximize profits. Horizontal integration with the combination of vertical

The Government Shutdown In The United States
October 1st, 2013 began the 16 day long shutdown for the United States government. Although the
reason for the shutdown originated with disputes between the President Barack Obama and the
United States Congress over Washington [overspending] their projected budget, the final nail in the
shutdown boiled down to the dissimilar views of the House of Representatives and the Senate. As a
result, the government shutdown further intensified the lack of unity between the two political

Missouri River Research Paper
The Missouri River s the longest river in North America. It starts in Western Montana and ends
North of St. Louis, Missouri. Most people think that the Missouri River was made over 30 million
years ago, but because its changed its stream over time, the current course of estimation is at 115,
000 years old. The first human life emerged in the valley of the Missouri riverpast 12 thousand
years ago. The banks of the Missouri River were settled on by more than 10 different tribes of
Native Americans. The word Missouri can be defined from the language of some of the tribes as

Analysis Of Jacob Meeting Esau And The Deaths Of Rachel...
Nestled between the heartwarming story of Jacob meeting Esau and the deaths of Rachel and Leah
lies the tragedy that is Genesis 33: Dinah and the Shechamites. With rape and sexual assault gaining
more awareness around college campuses in the United States, I thought it would be interesting to
scrutinize the Biblical scholars perspective on the rapeof Dinah. It seems everyone has a strong
opinion on how she was treated and how her brothers treated their hosts, but few appear to have
an opinion on Dinah herself. This is a result of every source at some point essentially expressing
the same sentiment: we can only assume what Dinah thought because she never uttered a word.
That said, I will both summarize what each commentary says about Dinah, as well as offer some
reflection on the commentary itself. The first commentary I read was certainly the most in depth,
technical analysis of Genesis 34. The New Interpreter s Bible (hereby referenced as NIB) paints a
compelling picture of the tale. Interestingly, this was one of the worst sources in regards to looking
at how Dinah was treated; it focused mainly on the action and reaction relationship between the
Hivites and the sons of Jacob. It did note that Dinah is the first daughter of Jacob that receives any
sort of recognition, but it also explained that the most important part of the story was Jacob s curse
upon the massacre his sins executed (NIB 576). One aspect to note is that this commentary never
posed the question of

Despite the many disadvantages of being raised by a low income migrant family, one of my
advantages is my cultural capital which bypassed the structural violence around me. My cultural
capital consisted of having both a mother and father figure, which many children in South Central
lacked. For instance, children raised by a single parent suffered greater amount of hardships than
one raised by both parents. Accordingly, many of these single parents are forced to overwork in
order to financially support their children, as a result, leaving their children with minimal guidance

Egyptian Art Vs Byzantine Art
Throughout history, man has used several mediums to record the world they live in, whether it is
through writing or art. These mediums have also served not only as a way to represent the events
in history but also provide as a way to convey certain messages with hopes to teach, influence or
convince the viewers. Three periods in history, the Egyptian, the Roman, and the Byzantine, are
examples of cultures that used art as a mean to relate the earthly world with their religious beliefs.
With their art, the Egyptian aimed to paint the rulers as god kings, the Roman cultures represented
their gods and goddesses with humanlike actions, and lastly, the Byzantine period presented a
heavenly realm on earth.

For instance, in the Hagia Sophia Church created by Justinian during his reign, multiple windows
surround the base of the central dome, making the illusion that it is as if it was floating. The
windows appear as a golden chain from Heaven . With this innovative yet smoothly executed
iconography in the architecture of the church, worshipers were presented with a spiritual setting in
which they could bask in. Byzantine art established the churches as the second heaven.
However, the Byzantine not only created the image of heaven in their architectural structures, but
also in their mosaic paintings. The painting of Justinian, Bishop Maximianus, and attendants, is a
good example of how the Byzantine period set the scene against a golden background, a style
that has started in Late Antiquity to show that an event occurs in a heavenly place or a paradise
not bound by time or location. This gives the effect that the emperor is regarded as having the
ability to dwell not only on earth as a ruler but also participate in spiritual rites as favored by

The Backbone Of A Recreational Sport And Organization
CHAPTER TWO: REVIEW OF LITERATURE
Chapter Overview
Introduction
The backbone of a recreational sport and organization are the volunteers committed to the success
and continuation of the organization. The most important group of individuals within a youth
sports organization is volunteer coaches (Bouchet and Lehe, pg. 21, 2010). The diversity of a
community organization requires many unique needs to be addressed and serviced. The greater the
diversity of a group, the more likely different individuals with varied backgrounds are required. The
influence of volunteers allows youth teams and leagues to fill their needs (Bouchet and Lehe,
2010). Volunteer recreational sports organizations are then charged with identifying and convincing

Regardless the reason for their involvement, the general disposition of these coaches presents an
opportunity for education and increasing efficacy. Volunteer coaches were sought to have an
intentional disposition to learning for reasons such as inquisitiveness, self efficacy, and open
mindedness (Griffiths and Armour, 2013). Additionally, the disposition of reciprocity for volunteer
coaches to gain knowledge included reasons of cooperation and mutual exchange of information
(Griffiths and Armour, 2013). The review of literature intends to display the research surrounding
volunteer recreational youth sport coaches, the motivators for participation, and the educational
opportunities for this population.
Terms and Definitions A key to defining this group and their responsibilities is to explain their
status. The term volunteer is defined as, persons who did unpaid work (except for expenses)
through or for an organization (USDL, 2015). The nature of a professional, or someone who is paid
for their work, demonstrates an implicit motivator in the payment. The duties and responsibilities
that are performed by the person whether the duties are assigned or created by the person also have
a general connotation. The collection of activities these individuals perform is known in the
literature as volunteering (Stebbins, 2009, Wilson,

Pros And Cons Of Ad Hoc Routing Protocols
WIRELESS AD HOC ROUTING PROTOCOLS
Raghav Thirani , Monica Chandil
ABSTRACT: An ad hoc network is a collection of nodes which are dynamically located in such a
manner that their inter connections might change on continual basis. A routing protocol is
required, to facilitate communication inside the network by discovering routes between the nodes.
This research paper classifies various protocols and provides an overview about eight different
protocols under varied categories.
1.INTRODUCTON:
Since their emergence, wireless networks have become increasingly popular. There are currently
two kinds of wireless networks in use, namely WLAN s and Ad Hoc. WLAN s are called
infrastructure networks as they have fixed and wired gateways, whereas Ad hoc are called
infrastructure less networks as they don t have any fixed routers, all nodes in this are capable of

It starts by throwing light on Table Driven or Proactive routingprotocols, then moving forward to
On demand or Reactive routing protocols. It further discusses about Hybrid routing protocols which
are a mixture of the previous two. We end the discussion on these routing protocols by introducing
the Hierarchical routing protocols.
2.TABLE DRIVEN PROTOCOLS
Table driven routing protocols are also called as proactive routing protocols. They try to maintain
the consistent, up to date routing information from each node to every other node in the
network[1]. Nodes respond to network topology changes by propagating route updates throughout
the network.[1] in this paper we discuss three proactive routng protocols namely: Optimised Link
State Routing protocol(OLSR) , Destination Sequenced Distance Vector Routing(DSDV) and
Wireless routing protocol (WRP).
2.1DSDV:
In this routing protocol, every node maintains a routing table which has got entries of all the
possible destination nodes and the number of hops to each of

Influence Of Influence On Yeats
A poet is not always aware of all the sources that influence his poetry. Various experiences and
fields of knowledge that he is familiar with, play upon his mind and form a new compound
which hardly bears any resemblance to the original sources. A reader who feels that he has been
able to trace the source is required to ascertain that the poet was in fact exposed to that source.
An Indian critic or reader with his knowledge of and sympathy for Indian culture is more likely
to be able to feel the Indian echoes. But he must look for support in Yeats s autobiography or
perhaps his biography, his letters or other writing. That Yeats was not only familiar but well versed
with Indian philosophy is clearly proved by his letters and essays. Therefore... Show more content

Humanistic Approach To Psychotherapy
During my earlier years as undergraduate, I recall being very interested in the humanistic approach

Consumers are being targeted and manipulated by shopping malls. Manipulation of consumers
begin with stores studying shopping behaviors and using those ideas to construct an environment
that encourages a consumer to spend more, by enticing the wandering eye with a sales poster
placed strategically. Shopping malls encourage consumer consumption by using mannequins to
display an outfit that pairs well with each other so that the consumer will be more inclined to
purchase the whole outfit instead of just the pants. For example, at Gap there are pants laying on

Argumentative Essay On Body Cameras
Over the past few years, there have been many tragedies involving police which have caused
people to feel unsafe and weary. Body cameras are a great way to combat this issue because they
offer both audible and visual evidence of misconduct. This can be used to keep the public and
police accountable for their actions while maintaining an evidenced based argument compared to
the usual testimony based argument. In a Washington Post article by Dunn, he said: Video provides
compelling evidence of policemisconduct and can be used to train, discipline, fire and even
prosecute officers (2017). Dunn is valid in saying this because the footage when appropriately

First, there s no guarantee that the public will ever see footage from police body cameras,
especially in cases where it may be helpful to defendants or civil litigants (Buttar, 2016).
Although this may be true in some cases, laws are being made to ensure that the footage is
available for not only police but the public. For example, a police department in Seattle posts
their footage to YouTube so everyone can see what their police have recorded (Dunn Lieberman,
2017). Others believe body cameras should not be worn because of possible mass incarceration
issues amongst the public. Cameras could capture footage used against defendants in criminal
trials either where the footage depicts criminal acts, like jaywalking or selling loose cigarettes,
or where it merely supports suspicion of potential crime, justifying subsequent stops and
searches that would otherwise be illegal (Buttar, 2016). Some cops could abuse cameras in such
a way; however, the footage collected is currently reviewed only by specific professionals and
debates over sending footage directly to specialized agencies for review is still highly considered.
Sending the footage to these special facilities leaves little room for tampering by police and will
help ensure the authenticity of the footage. Although many may believe those body cameras will
cause more harm than help to the community, body cameras are still highly useful and are
statistically reported to assist police and the

Effective Communication And Interpersonal Communication
Within this piece of writing I am going to go explain how effective communication and
interpersonal interaction is crucial within health and social care, I will also discuss theories of
communication and how they are effective within the health and social sector.
Communication
What is communication? Communication Is when two or more people exchange or express
information, thoughts, feelings etc. by using sounds, signs, or behaviors.
Why do people communicate?
People communicate to find out how people are feeling, so if there are any problems they can
help them out and take them to the doctors if needed, in some cases people communication just to
have a catch up with a friend. A good example of this within health and social would be if a person
that spoke a different language needed to go to the toilet you would have to communicate by using
the right translation book to understand what they are saying. There are many different types to
communicate which are; one to one, formal, and informal, between colleagues, with other
professionals, between professionals and service users, multi agency, multi professional working I
am now going to go into some detail about these different types to communicate to each other
within a social workers industry, I will be giving examples throughout.
Interpersonal

A Lesson Before Dying
I read a historical fiction novel about racism called A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest J. Gaines.
Gaines was a was an African American man who was born in 1933 and grew up on a plantation
in Louisiana. He earned 50 cents a day picking potatoes at the age of nine. By the age of 15, he
moved to California with his aunt and that s when his passion for reading grew stronger.
Disappointed to find that none of the books he read had nothing to do with the world he knew,
he decided to write some stories himself (Magnier). Therefore, the main themes of his works
come from his childhood. His first few famous novels were published around the 1970 s: Of
Love and Dust (1967) and The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman (1971); Gaines received the
U.S. National Book Award for A Lesson before Dying in 1994. The purpose of this book is to show
people how it felt to be put in the shoes of a black man in the southern states of America in the
1940 s. This book was and is popular among mostly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I thought it was a very good book and it taught me a lot about what people went through a long
time ago. The characterization was excellent, I felt like I knew the characters extremely well
and could tell what they were all thinking. The characters also fit the story completely and made
it interesting, there were conflicts between characters and also conflicts between a character and
himself. The plot was also very good because it not only showed me what times were like back
in the day, but it also taught me an important lesson (hence the title of this paper) that applies to
today s society. The plot was fluid and played out nicely throughout the entire book, even during
the chapter dedicated to Jefferson s diary . In its entirety, the book made me realize how much our
society has changed for the better and how progress does not always have a negative impact on the

Today, the fashion industry is pumping out thousands of fur coats for prospective buyers. The
attempt of masking the true price of retrieving that fur by glamorizing coats is beyond most buyer s
attention. Some people know that animals go through pain when their fur is taken for the purpose
of fashion, but most people do not understand the extent of the mutilation they go through. To be
sure the furis fresh and neat, certain animals are sometimes skinned alive. Fur farming is not only
inhumane, but it also has a negative effect on nature. Fur farming is bad for the environment, brutal
to animals and the animals are also inhumanely killed. According to psychological theory, the
humanistic view claims that every person has good in them.... Show more content on

To catch the animals, the farmers use a device called a leg hold trap. A study in Wheeler Nation
Wildlife Refuge discovered that 26% of animals would actually attempt to bite of their limbs in
order to escape one of these traps in the hopes of survival ( Ranch Fur Cruelties ). The fact that
animals are willing to chew of their body parts in order to escape means that the leg hold trap
must be painful towards the animals, which means it is an inhumane way of capturing an animal.
Fur farming has been around for many years, but not always for the poor purpose of fashion.
Although there are countless disadvantages with fur farming, many individuals are blinded by the
glamour of the fur fashion industry to see that. One of the most crucial issues is how badly fur
farming effects the environment which is almost always a victim of a human s doing.
Effecting the environment has been a common issue that seems to keep resurfacing all over the
world. While raw animal fur pelts may be biodegradable, the fur industry conveniently neglects to
mention the fact that all of the animal skins used to make fur go through a tanning process (
Nothing Humane about Fur Farms ). Tanning is a process that uses environmentally damaging
toxins such as formaldehydes and strong acids. These chemicals are a danger to the atmosphere,
helping destroy the environment which is already being damaged by other human made things such
as carbon dioxide from cars or grime from nuclear plants. The

John Komlos Inequality
Inequality Begins in the Womb My Father, the Exception According to John Komlos, inequality
begins in the womb in America. His main argument is that children born into disadvantage are,
by the time they start kindergarten, already at risk of dropping out of school, teen pregnancy,
crime and a lifetime of low wage work (2015). Not only does Komlos argue that the fetus might
be more exposed to toxins and infections in certain cases but the zip codes of birth influences
and shapes the child s faith more than people would assume. However, I would like to provide an
exception to Komlos s argument, and claim that sometimes the zip code and the place where you
are born does not make a difference. I believe that my father is the exception. Komlos

I owe Apple Programming P400,000 due in 90 days. I know some people at Apple. If I were to sign

amount that could help a lot for our operational expense considering Aztec is in financial

The Labyrinth of Life in The Garden of Forking Paths by Yu Tsun
A labyrinth is classically a human construction designed to confuse. It can trap our lives, hiding our
past and future and constantly forcing us to make choices, even though we may not know what the
consequences of those choices might be. The confusion of the puzzle may even tempt us to run
blindly through the labyrinth, ending in disaster. Life itself is often considered such a labyrinth, and
by adopting the strategies of travelers who came before and choosing our path cautiously while
playing close attention to the patterns of our lives, we may find the right path through the maze.
Although the Labyrinth appears to be an intellectual challenge, every turn is ... Show more content

Similarly to Yu Tsun on his fatal journey, we are constantly confronted with choices, but we are
dimly aware of the presence of most of these choices, and even less aware of the full
consequences. Once Albert turned his back, Yu Tsun ?readied the revolver?(579) and ?fired with
extreme caution? (579). Yu Tsun did not consider any ethical consequences of his actions; he just
killed a man who spent his entire life unraveling the history of Yu Tsun s ancestor. Even worse is
the chance that the best intentions can still lead to disaster. Yu Tsun remembers that the key to
?certain labyrinths? is ?to turn always to the left? (575). Unfortunately, the labyrinth of life lacks
such simple rules to guide us. In fact, keeping a path which is too constant may result in walking
in circles. Therefore, whether the labyrinth is a maze of our own construction or a trap we have
found ourselves in, there is no easy way to escape any predicament.
Yu Tsun chose to ?impose a futureas irrevocable as the past? (575) when trying to choose his
path, but it is the past that defines is, and provides us knowledge of how things could occur in the
future. Not only is Yu Tsun ignoring his past, but by ?[imposing] a future as irrevocable as the
past? (575), he is completely bypassing any ethical decisions he has to make. By forcing himself to
believe that he must kill Albert, he is denying the fact that

Washington Irving Research Paper
Washington Irving American Literature Pioneer
American literature greatly flourished in the nineteenth century through remarkable works of
American Romantic authors. Among these people was Washington Irving who achieved
international fame for his fictional works as well as for his biographies and historical writings.
Irving also advocated for writing as a legitimate career, and argued for stronger laws to protect
writers from copyright infringement (Bio). Washington Irving exemplified the Romantic Era
because he emphasized feelings, emotion, and imagination, and he valued individualism and
uniqueness of each person. Washington Irving was a popular nineteenth century American author

illustrate how being unique is beneficial to a person because as Rip Van Winkle wandered in the

The Between Dance And The Self
Within Fish Tank, performance serves a multitude of functions. For one, characters in the film
define themselves in relation to dance, and performance as a whole is presented as an outlet and a
means to attain freedom. Yet, the relationship between dance and the self is also antithetical as,
whilst individual characters escape social definition through the act of dance, the act itself defines
them. This can be seen especially in relation to the female identity that is imposed with sexual
objectivity through dance. However, dance also operates in a figurative sense, Mia, dances with the
idea of reinvention, escape and of learning the steps to life. Overall, dance is presented as being
highly important to the exploration and attainment... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Mia s lack of talent for dancing establishes a sense of futility regarding her escape.
Nonetheless, Mia s desire to dance reflects her broad desire to express herself creatively.
Mia s desire to escape social constraint is further revealed through her attempt to connect to the
Black American culture. Mia s dance moves and music choices create an interesting dynamic to
her self expression, for example, Mia s burgeoning connection to Connor is revealed through her
choice to dance to his favourite song. Further, as Mia dances in front of the television in her
kitchen, she does so to an African American pop song, featuring street dance (0.13.19). Mia s
copying of the dance moves is emblematic of her attempt to re construct and re define her identity.
The..cultural..messages..that..she..receives from the television, dance and music therefore, are
presented as being key in Mia s process of self discovery. Connor s comment You dance like a
black is intended as a compliment, yet reveals further Mia s attempt to construct her identity out of
cultural fragments. Broadly, through dance, and performing aspects of African American street
culture, Mia s powerful desire to escape societal constraint is made apparent. Mia s attempt to
connect with a world different to her own, is emblematic of Mia s attempt to seek freedom.
Whilst allowing Mia to escape, dance allows Mia to reconcile the conflict within her life,

Analysis Of The Movie The Tv Series Californication
American Culture can be displayed in many forms in a variety of shows, but the TV series
Californication is one that expresses both the good and the bad parts about living in a modern
society. Californication is about a self loathing writer named Hank Moody trying to repair his
relationship with his daughter Becca and her mother Karen while simultaneously trying to fight his
sex addiction, his budding addiction to drugs and the inability to stop making bad decisions
(Kapinos, IMDb). This show depicts American Culture through the main characters lives through

Starting with Hank Moody, he is the main character in this show he is a successful novelist who

Which he ultimately ends up hating and is unhappy about it on many accounts throughout the
show (Kapinos, netflix). From the lack of motivation to write and the alcohol and drug binges
California has ultimately changed Hank for the worse. This really shows that there are bad parts
about American culture it tells us how drugs have become a normal part of some people s lives.
Hank can be described as intelligent, sarcastic, a smooth talker and a womanizer. Despite his love
for women and drugs Hank s ultimate goal is to be a good father to his teenaged daughter Becca

believe moral relativism is understood based on how the person lives their life and how it reacts
to others. Moral relativism is not based on any morals, but what the person s belief based on their

The Contributions Of Pragmatism In The Hellenistic Period
It was only after Alexander s conquest of the Greek homeland that classical ideas were put under
pressure by a changing political climate and social disruption, eventually causing the expanding
Greek world to turn to pragmatism and realism. The ensuing Hellenistic period saw a move
towards practical applications of scientific knowledge and art styles reflecting the more complex
emotions familiar to Hellenistic Greeks. However, despite changing attitudes, the ingenuity and
technical proficiency of Greek individuals was generally undiminished. In mathematics, for
example, Euclid (365 300 BCE) wrote 13 groundbreaking books on geometry that continued to be
used until the late 19th century and virtually invented classical (Euclidean) geometry as we know it
(Mastin, pars. 3). Archimedes, a 3rd century BCE mathematician from Syracuse, made significant
practical advances in the field of physics, inventing the compound pulley and the Archimedean
screw; he famously stated, give me a fulcrum, and I ll shift the Earth, affirming his faith in applied
science (Cary, 349). Early biologists and naturalists of the Hellenistic periodincreasingly sought
applications in medicine, which vastly improved medical care (Cary, 351). Astronomy also saw
advances in practical knowledge from figures such as Eratosthenes, who calculated the
circumference of the Earth, and Hipparchus, who determined the length of the moon s orbit to
within one second (Violatti (a), pars. 9). Architecture, once held up

As I ve mentioned in earlier posts, Instagram has become an absolute treasure trove of practical
information for people living with chronic illness. Here are 12 ways spoonies just like you cope

Being Stubborn
When living with a chronic illness, stubbornness can be both your best and your worst asset. On the
one hand, you re incredibly determined to not let your condition get the best of you, on the other,
you tend to overdo it.
Still, being tenacious and having a fighting spirit is one of the most effective ways to cope with the

Using Social Media

Twitter, and Instagram who continually support each other and help ease the burden of daily pain.
Look for hashtags such as, #spoonie, #chronicillness, #chronicpain, and #chroniclife.
Watching Mindless Movies
Distracting yourself from your pain can be a very healthy way to cope with the stress of living
with a chronic illness.
Watching a movie you don t have to pay attention to, means you have two socially acceptable hours
to stare at one fixed object, let your mind wander, and relax.
(Alternatively, you can get lost in the ridiculous plot and forget your troubles for a while.)
Napping Like It s Your Job
I don t know about you, but napping is, by far, my favorite way to cope with my fatigue, anxiety,
and feelings of overwhelm. When things get to be too much, I slip in my earbuds, turn on some
soothing music, recline in my chair, and take a nap.
Sleeping, like crying, is not a sign of weakness or laziness. It s simple self care, and it s important to
engage in it regularly.

Another piece of useful advice I got from a fellow spoonie is setting small goals.

The Book of Acts Essay
The Book of Acts The book of Acts is known as the birth of the church . Acts recounts the story
of the early church from the time of Jesus ascension to Paul s arrival as a prisoner in Rome. Acts
was written by the author of Luke s gospel, Luke. Although the author does not name himself,
evidence from the book itself proves that the author was Luke. Luke was a physician. Scriptural
evidence of this includes Colossians 4:14: Our dear friend Luke, the doctor, and Demas send
greetings. Luke often used medical language. For instance, he finds the sailors bandaging the ship
in Acts 27:17: When the men had hoisted in aboard, they passed ropes under the ship itself to hold

This is found by comparing Acts 1:1 with Luke 1:3 4. Acts 1:1: In my former book, Theophilus,
I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven,
after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. Luke 1: 3 4: (3)
Therefore, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed
good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, (4) so that you
may know the certainty of things you have been taught. Because Luke s first book was written
to Theophilus as was Acts, Luke must be the author of both. Another reason to believe that Luke
is the author of Acts is the way both the book of Acts and Luke are written. The vocabulary,
grammar and style are not only consistent throughout both gospels. Luke was an eyewitness of
some of the events in chapters 16 28, where he changes his they statements to we statements. An
example of this is in Acts16:10 11, 16: (10) And after he had seen the vision, immediately we
endeavored to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach
the gospel unto them. (11) Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to
Samothracia and the next day to Neapolis. (16) And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a

Presentation on a Short Poem Written by T. S. Eliot Cousin Nancy
First, let me talk something about T. S. Eliot
T. S. Eliot is considered to be one of the most prominent poets, critics and playwrights of his time
and his works are said to have promoted to reshape modern literature . He was born in 1888 in St.
Louis Missouri and studied at Harvard and Oxford. It was at Harvard where he met his guide Ezra
Pound, and under the encouragement of Pound, Eliot expands his writing abilities and publish his
first poem: the love song of J. Alfred Prufrock. Eliot became an Englandcitizen in 1925 and
received the Nobel Prize for literature in 1948. In 1965, he died in London, and his ashes were

She displayed the meaning of modern to other people, and mocked those old fogies, defenders of
older order now locked away behind the shelves.
Just this short poem caused much discussion, and the people s opinions are definitely opposite.
1. Some think that the poem fully demonstrates the impact of the woman s presence in the modern
society. It shows the confidence of the new profound woman and how the older generation, or her
aunts , reacted to the new movement.
2. Others think that Nancy s liberation and rebellion just a kind of superficial and ironical one.
The poem presents an ironic portrait of a liberated new woman whose modern attitudes are
expressed in trivial actions. And the final line of the poem: the army of unalterable law indicates
nothing will change, the faith, though locked in the shelves, will never be destroyed, or lost. It will
be kept well and come down. That is the strength of tradition.
Both of them sounds reasonable, now I will analyze these two, and give my own explanation to the
poem.
Firstly, I want to share with you something information about the poem, I think it will help us to
understand the poem better.
1. Cousin Nancy is one of the poems

Informed Consent In Prisons
One of the greatest problems in medical research in prisons was poor quality of, if any, informed
consent. Many people point to the Tuskegee study on the effects of syphilis, where subjects were
deceived into thinking they were gaining medical treatment and the lack of information violated the
principle informed consent (McDerott 10). Ethics professor Karen Lebacqz explains that informed
consent recognizes the autonomy of subjects (1), as does openness to subject s voice, and
confidentiality. Pont, Capron, and Overholser agree that informed consent is a great necessity and
must be done with clarity (187; 5; 196). The Nuremberg Code explains that all researchers are
obligated to inform subjects of the complete nature and implications of the... Show more content on

Prison administration and medical researchers need to develop an attitude that is respectful,
sensitive, and seeks to improve and treat inmates. Overholster contends that prisons should aim to
rehabilitate inmates rather than punish them (194). Capron argues that the government should
participate both in forming and regulating policy (4). Perhaps, the government should set quotas on
the number of medical research experiments in prisons in order to invest more efforts and time in
setting up a good environment and regulating research. Depending on how research and treatment
fares in prisons, the government can tighten or relax restrictions on the purpose and nature of
medical research in

Juvenile Justice System And The Juvenile Court System
The juvenile justice system varies from the adult justice system in many ways. For more than a
century, the states have believed that the juvenile justice system was a means to ensuring public
safety, by establishing and implementing a system that responds to children as they are maturing
into adulthood. Today s youths, however, are increasingly committing more serious crimes that in
turn are raising the public s criticism concerning the modern juvenile justice system. There are
those who are in support of keeping every juvenile I juvenile court system and then there are the
others who argue if juveniles were held to stricter standards they would not become repeat offender
in the system and eventual end up in the adult corrections system.... Show more content on

The Department of Justice confirms juveniles are entitled to Fifth Amendment protection under the
Constitution, against self incrimination in juvenile proceedings. This is despite the nature of the
crime whether it is of criminal or non criminal nature of those proceedings. (In re Gault, 1967)
Substance, not form, controls in determining the relevance of the Fifth Amendment to proceedings
not labeled criminal. Therefor since a juvenile defendant s liberty is at stake, the Fifth Amendment
would apply. The next question that then arises is does the juvenile have the mental capacity to
understand their Fifth Amendment rights, that was explained to them when the officer first read
them their Miranda Admonishment. Under California law, prosecutors who allege that a minor
under the age of 14 has committed a criminal act, the courts must establish that the child can
distinguish between right and wrong. The minor must also know what it means to break the law or
commit a crime. (In re Gladys R., 1970)
Juveniles are not necessarily given every right afforded to adult criminal defendants. Let s take a
look at the right to a trial by jury . Juveniles do not have the right to a jury trial instead a Judge
decides the juvenile cases. (McKeiver v. Pennsylvania, 1971) Taking into account that this is a
worst case scenario, a minor adjudicated in juvenile court can face being sentenced to the

Tips For Maintaining Your Car s Tires And Identifying When Replacement Is Needed
Many drivers do not even think about their car s tires until there is a major problem. The truth is
that poorly maintained tires can affect the performance of your car and potentially put you and
your passengers in danger. For example, having your tires underinflated by 25% can cause tire
failure to occur. Her is how you can maintain your car s tires along with signs of when it is time to
replace them.
Maintenance
Air Pressure
Take a close look at your tires to find out how much air pressure is needed to keep them properly
inflated. Too much air can cause the tire to have a blowout when drivingat high speeds when the
internal temperature increases. Too little ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The improper balance will cause unintentional wear and tear on your tires, which can lead to the
tires needing to be replaced sooner than the others.
If you notice that your care is slightly veering to one side when driving while your hands are off
the wheel it could be a sign of a tire misalignment. Your local auto shop can perform a wheel
alignment to get your tired back on track. They will also rotate your tires at the same time to help
increase their lifespan.
Replacement Signs
Tire Tread
You do not need a fancy tire gauge to tell if it is time to replace your tires, because all you need is a
penny. Stick it head first into the tread. If you can see the top of Lincoln s head, it s a sign you
need to get new tires.
Uneven wear is also a clear sign you need replacement. Just run your hand over the tread and feel
how smooth it is. If you feel noticeable bumps in the tread, it is time to replace your tires.
Vibration
If you did not feel the bumps in the tires then you might feel it when driving. Those uneven treads
will translate to a vibration when you driver your car, especially at high speeds. While bad struts
and shocks could also be causing the vibration, confirm your suspicious by investigating the tire

Rejection In The Grapes Of Wrath
By not being accepted by those who were closest to them, Joseph and Jesus were able to make a
difference in the lives of many more people than if they had not gone through the extra steps
rejection took them.
Rejection does not feel good. Often times, rejection is a lonely place. Rejection caused Joseph to
become a slave and a prisoner. He lived in a pit and he was left in prison for several years on more
than one occasion. While in each of these places, Joseph never forgot his dream. Joseph was
faced with being called a liar and a rapist but he never forgot his dreams. I am certain that Joseph
did not understand what was going on or why his dream was not coming to fruition but he never
gave up. While in prison Joseph still exercised

Nicu Nurse Research Paper
NICU Nurse Registered Nurses have a lot of responsibilities and other jobs, the career I chose is
a NICU Nurse. They work in the rooms with babies to monitor any complications, but mostly
premature babies. I chose this career because I love babies and I would love to be the reason
why a baby got better. This career will be a great fit for my life goals because I ve always wanted
to be a nurse and I love working with babies so why not put both the things I love into one. NICU
Nurses are responsible for care of infants who may be diagnosed with diseases, delivery
complications and, the one we see most, prematurity. They develop nursing care plans and assess,

Soil Analysis Lab
Hypothesis
The more silt soil contains gives a longer water holding capacity for the soil and the more clay it
contains gives a shorter water holding capacity.
Procedure I
Take separate samples of humus and forest ground soil and place into cups. Using spray bottle
filled with water, take a handful of soil into your hand and mist it with water. Squeeze the samples
and try to form it into a ball or a ribbon and determine its texture. Afterwards, do the same test again
and determine the consistence and observe the soil structure.
Questions
Considering the samples analyzed, the relationship between texture and consistence varies directly
because larger particles may affect the texture to the point where it is rough and the opposite when

Clay generally has a much higher water holding capacity than that of silt or sand because the
particle size of the clay is much smaller allowing much less water to escape. Sand, in comparison,
has very large particles which creates space that the water very easily flows out of.
Procedure V
Use the same procedure as described before to prepare the fresh columns of soil and humus.
Weigh the columns of dry soil and humus. First, using the forest soil, use twist ties to suspend the
dry columns and the water saturated columns from the previous day in plastic vials. Put 10 mL of
water in the 60 cc cup. Record how long it takes for the first drop of water to come out the bottom
to the column. Watch until there is no more water standing on top of the column. Do this for the
dry forest soil and humus. Repeat with the wet soil column.
Question
In chart. The relationship between particle size and percolation rate is that the smaller the
particle size, the lower the percolation rate. the high permeability of wet sand and the low
permeability of wet clay. Rain on sandy soil will be quickly absorbed, while rain on clay will be
more likely to run off. Therefore, the ditch at the bottom of the clay soil field would be more likely

Mobile Development And The Mobile Industry
The latter half of the past decade has seen new mobile development platforms emerge and
become a daily part of the average citizen s life. When Apple Inc. introduced the iPhone (one of
the first to use a multi touch interface), the mobile industry experienced a powerful spark. With
the creation of the smartphone came the first, true application, or app , ecosystem. The wide
variety of mobile apps available provide quick and easy access to services such as news and
entertainment to health and fitness. This event quickly restructured the value of certain mobile
services and shifted attention to the seemingly lucrative new economy of app development.
Abandoned were the traditional pillars of the mobile economy (SMS, telco services, mobile
handsets?). These were nearly entirely replaced by the focus towards the mobile app economy.
Impressively, this new economy has the largest group of developers (mostly entrepreneurs) to ever
enter a technology industry. Despite the rapid growth and the wide variety of economic and
consumer related experiments being tested to expand the industry, it is still in an early stage. With
the ever increasing number of downloaded apps, entrepreneurs blindly jump on the App Store
bandwagon (or more than 30 other new app stores that have launched). Currently, that may not be
the wisest decision. The App Store hysteria is beginning to turn into a tech bubble in which most
developers will not ever be able to recover their costs. Experts are

Temporary Permit
I vividly remember this Thursday evening after school. My father was taking me and my sister
home, as he did every day. When we arrived at the beginning of our steep private drive, he put the
car in park and went to get the mail. And while he was getting the mail I took the time to hop
into the front seat. When he opened the driver door he simply said, No absolutely not . I was
relentless and begged him to let me drive up the hill. I had my Temporary Permit I knew what I
was doing, or at least I thought I did. Driving always fascinated me. When I was little I used to
sit on my father s lap and he would drive up the hill and I would steer. Even though, this was my
first time actually operating a vehicle, I believed I could handle it. How hard

Stakeholder Analysis Of Soselo Mello s Stakeholder Analysis
Stakeholder analysis of Soselo Mello
1.The Primary Social Stakeholders
a.Shareholders and investors. Because they are in the initial state of their business, they do not
have shareholders and investors right now. However, they are looking for an investors, and the
future investors and shareholders will be the most important stakeholders for Soselo Mello. To
develop and sell much better fuel items in the market they need more investment, but there is not
enough information who an investor can invest his money in their business on the official website.
To communicate the future investors, they have to improve the website.
b.Employees.
When they start to produce and sell their fuel in earnest, they have to hire more employees. They
will want to hire employees who can share same vision to make much safe and clean environment
by using Soselo Mello s fuels. Of course, they will hire a lot of local laborer as their employees, and
the stable job can change the laborer s life. The wage of African laborers is much cheaper than
other development countries, so they will be able to hire more employees.
c.Manufacturers.
To make a contract with local manufactures to produce their goods is can be a good business
option. To open and manage a factory needs huge investment and expertise. So, local manufacturer
will be one of the most important stakeholders for them. The infrastructure and managing ability for
factory in Africa is not enough compared to developed countries, so they

Ostrich And The Buffalo Research Paper
Taming an animal such as a dog or a cat is impressive, but the amount of guts it takes to tame a

notable one s are the Ostrich and the Buffalo. The Robinson s endeavored to tame a wild Ostrich
they see and the first step was to get it weak enough to capture. Fritz s eagle soared through the sky

For example, currently to ensure that brewing traditions are passed down through entire generations, Molson Coors ensures that the new brew masters spend ample time learning through a mentorship program. Also they know that quality can t be rushed, so the company preforms quality checks at every step of the process, to ensure that everything is up to their high standards. • 4. The importance of Integrity and Honesty in criminal... Integrity and Honesty Integrity can be defined as an uncompromising adherence to a code of moral, artistic or other values, utter sincerity, honesty and candor, avoidance of deception, expediency, artificiality or shallowness of any kind (Webster s 3rd New International Dictionary 1174). In simpler words this means to maintain high standards and follow the rules, even when no one is watching. Integrity is very important in our everyday life if we wish to be good people. The sad thing is that if you ask some people what integrity means to them they will probably tell you that it doesn t mean much and some may not even know what integrity is. Certain people feel that in order to get ahead in life they need to break certain rules. It is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Having a high standard of personal integrity and honesty will really help prepare one for employment in the justice field in many different ways. Integrity and honesty is one of the most important requirements for any criminal justice career. It is extremely important to know what is right and wrong and to be honest no matter what the consequences if you are planning on entering the justice field, especially a police officer. Police officers must commit to the highest moral and ethical standards, they can t be prejudice or favor someone without knowing every single detail, must show good personal conduct, have high integrity on and off duty, and plenty more. One major reason to have a high standard of integrity and honesty at all times is because if you are a person who has ever been in trouble for something that showed you had been dishonest (such as theft, cheating, lying, and more) and you apply for a job in the justice field, they will most likely find it no matter how off your record it supposedly is and you will not be hired. In their minds they are most likely thinking that if you could be dishonest once then you can be dishonest again and they don t want someone likely that employed with them. • 5. Censorship Is Not Limited Repressive Regimes Or Network... Censorship is not limited to repressive regimes or network television. Weather we know it or not censorship is happening all the time throughout the day. We censor ourselves, we listen to censored music and as students we see the internet being heavily censored in school. The Children s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) was signed into law in 2000; the law requires any public schools or library to filter any inappropriate content from the computers being used by minors. Since the law has been put in place, schools across America have installed programs that use keywords to designate certain types of websites off limits to students while using the schools internetserver. The problem with these filtering programs is that they block many sites that are not pornographic or obscene in nature, Instead they tend to block sites dealing with controversial but not inappropriate content. Although the CIPA was created to protect, it has been used as a soft form of censorshipin schools. The CIPA states that a library or schoolcannot receive the discounts offered by the e rate program unless they have an internet safety policy that has technology protection measures. The filter program must be able to filter pictures and content that are obscene, pornographic or harmful to minors from computers that are being accessed by minors (Reitman). The CIPA has multiple major flaws in its plan. It does not protect enough where it needs to but it over filters in other areas. The filters are there to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What role did the government play in the rise of big business? What were the social costs of the rise of big business? After the civil war, American economy evolved from family business to cooperate business. • 11. Analysis Of Jacob Meeting Esau And The Deaths Of Rachel... Nestled between the heartwarming story of Jacob meeting Esau and the deaths of Rachel and Leah lies the tragedy that is Genesis 33: Dinah and the Shechamites. With rape and sexual assault gaining more awareness around college campuses in the United States, I thought it would be interesting to scrutinize the Biblical scholars perspective on the rapeof Dinah. It seems everyone has a strong opinion on how she was treated and how her brothers treated their hosts, but few appear to have an opinion on Dinah herself. This is a result of every source at some point essentially expressing the same sentiment: we can only assume what Dinah thought because she never uttered a word. That said, I will both summarize what each commentary says about Dinah, as well as offer some reflection on the commentary itself. The first commentary I read was certainly the most in depth, technical analysis of Genesis 34. The New Interpreter s Bible (hereby referenced as NIB) paints a compelling picture of the tale. Interestingly, this was one of the worst sources in regards to looking at how Dinah was treated; it focused mainly on the action and reaction relationship between the Hivites and the sons of Jacob. It did note that Dinah is the first daughter of Jacob that receives any sort of recognition, but it also explained that the most important part of the story was Jacob s curse upon the massacre his sins executed (NIB 576). One aspect to note is that this commentary never posed the question of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These mediums have also served not only as a way to represent the events in history but also provide as a way to convey certain messages with hopes to teach, influence or convince the viewers. Three periods in history, the Egyptian, the Roman, and the Byzantine, are examples of cultures that used art as a mean to relate the earthly world with their religious beliefs. With their art, the Egyptian aimed to paint the rulers as god kings, the Roman cultures represented their gods and goddesses with humanlike actions, and lastly, the Byzantine period presented a heavenly realm on earth. Byzantine art established the churches as the second heaven. However, the Byzantine not only created the image of heaven in their architectural structures, but also in their mosaic paintings. The painting of Justinian, Bishop Maximianus, and attendants, is a good example of how the Byzantine period set the scene against a golden background, a style that has started in Late Antiquity to show that an event occurs in a heavenly place or a paradise not bound by time or location. The Backbone Of A Recreational Sport And Organization CHAPTER TWO: REVIEW OF LITERATURE Chapter Overview Introduction The backbone of a recreational sport and organization are the volunteers committed to the success and continuation of the organization. The most important group of individuals within a youth sports organization is volunteer coaches (Bouchet and Lehe, pg. 21, 2010). The diversity of a community organization requires many unique needs to be addressed and serviced. The greater the diversity of a group, the more likely different individuals with varied backgrounds are required. The influence of volunteers allows youth teams and leagues to fill their needs (Bouchet and Lehe, 2010). Regardless the reason for their involvement, the general disposition of these coaches presents an opportunity for education and increasing efficacy. Volunteer coaches were sought to have an intentional disposition to learning for reasons such as inquisitiveness, self efficacy, and open mindedness (Griffiths and Armour, 2013). Additionally, the disposition of reciprocity for volunteer coaches to gain knowledge included reasons of cooperation and mutual exchange of information (Griffiths and Armour, 2013). The review of literature intends to display the research surrounding volunteer recreational youth sport coaches, the motivators for participation, and the educational opportunities for this population. Terms and Definitions A key to defining this group and their responsibilities is to explain their status. The term volunteer is defined as, persons who did unpaid work (except for expenses) through or for an organization (USDL, 2015). The nature of a professional, or someone who is paid for their work, demonstrates an implicit motivator in the payment. The duties and responsibilities that are performed by the person whether the duties are assigned or created by the person also have a general connotation. The collection of activities these individuals perform is known in the literature as volunteering (Stebbins, 2009, Wilson, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A routing protocol is required, to facilitate communication inside the network by discovering routes between the nodes. This research paper classifies various protocols and provides an overview about eight different protocols under varied categories. 1.INTRODUCTON: Since their emergence, wireless networks have become increasingly popular. There are currently two kinds of wireless networks in use, namely WLAN s and Ad Hoc. WLAN s are called infrastructure networks as they have fixed and wired gateways, whereas Ad hoc are called infrastructure less networks as they don t have any fixed routers, all nodes in this are capable of movement and can be connected ... They try to maintain the consistent, up to date routing information from each node to every other node in the network[1]. Nodes respond to network topology changes by propagating route updates throughout the network.[1] in this paper we discuss three proactive routng protocols namely: Optimised Link State Routing protocol(OLSR) , Destination Sequenced Distance Vector Routing(DSDV) and Wireless routing protocol (WRP). 2.1DSDV: In this routing protocol, every node maintains a routing table which has got entries of all the possible destination nodes and the number of hops to each of ... Various experiences and fields of knowledge that he is familiar with, play upon his mind and form a new compound which hardly bears any resemblance to the original sources. A reader who feels that he has been able to trace the source is required to ascertain that the poet was in fact exposed to that source. An Indian critic or reader with his knowledge of and sympathy for Indian culture is more likely to be able to feel the Indian echoes. Radhakrishnan and Arthur Avalon s books on Tantric philosophy, it is difficult to trace with certainty the original sources of the Indian element in Yeats. However some images clearly look derived from Kabir. Kathleen Raine has pointed out that Kabir s bhajans were the sources of some of Yeats s images. Shiro Naito in his book on Yeats and Zen records that when he met Kathleen Raine, he was given some important suggestions for his study and one of them was that the chest nut tree of the poem Among School Children might have been derived from one of Kabir s poem which Yeats read in Tagore s translation.55 Raine herself records ... Humanistic Approach To Psychotherapy During my earlier years as undergraduate, I recall being very interested in the humanistic approach to psychotherapy, simply because it was congenial to the person I was at that time. I was deeply interested in the concepts of free will, self concept, self actualization, and most importantly, conditions of worth. In addition, when I considered the type of therapist I would have been the most willing to do therapeutic work with, I tended to think of a therapist with a humanistic orientation. However, I was quite naГЇve and discredited the other theoretical orientations. Manipulation of consumers begin with stores studying shopping behaviors and using those ideas to construct an environment that encourages a consumer to spend more, by enticing the wandering eye with a sales poster placed strategically. Shopping malls encourage consumer consumption by using mannequins to display an outfit that pairs well with each other so that the consumer will be more inclined to purchase the whole outfit instead of just the pants. For example, at Gap there are pants laying on the table right next to where the mannequin is displayed but above that table is another which just happens to have the same sweater that the mannequin ... • 20. Argumentative Essay On Body Cameras Over the past few years, there have been many tragedies involving police which have caused people to feel unsafe and weary. Body cameras are a great way to combat this issue because they offer both audible and visual evidence of misconduct. This can be used to keep the public and police accountable for their actions while maintaining an evidenced based argument compared to the usual testimony based argument. In a Washington Post article by Dunn, he said: Video provides compelling evidence of policemisconduct and can be used to train, discipline, fire and even prosecute officers (2017). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First, there s no guarantee that the public will ever see footage from police body cameras, especially in cases where it may be helpful to defendants or civil litigants (Buttar, 2016). Although this may be true in some cases, laws are being made to ensure that the footage is available for not only police but the public. For example, a police department in Seattle posts their footage to YouTube so everyone can see what their police have recorded (Dunn Lieberman, 2017). Others believe body cameras should not be worn because of possible mass incarceration issues amongst the public. Cameras could capture footage used against defendants in criminal trials either where the footage depicts criminal acts, like jaywalking or selling loose cigarettes, or where it merely supports suspicion of potential crime, justifying subsequent stops and searches that would otherwise be illegal (Buttar, 2016). Some cops could abuse cameras in such a way; however, the footage collected is currently reviewed only by specific professionals and debates over sending footage directly to specialized agencies for review is still highly considered. Sending the footage to these special facilities leaves little room for tampering by police and will help ensure the authenticity of the footage. Although many may believe those body cameras will cause more harm than help to the community, body cameras are still highly useful and are statistically reported to assist police and the ... Communication What is communication? Communication Is when two or more people exchange or express information, thoughts, feelings etc. by using sounds, signs, or behaviors. Why do people communicate? People communicate to find out how people are feeling, so if there are any problems they can help them out and take them to the doctors if needed, in some cases people communication just to have a catch up with a friend. To be sure the furis fresh and neat, certain animals are sometimes skinned alive. Fur farming is not only inhumane, but it also has a negative effect on nature. To catch the animals, the farmers use a device called a leg hold trap. A study in Wheeler Nation Wildlife Refuge discovered that 26% of animals would actually attempt to bite of their limbs in order to escape one of these traps in the hopes of survival ( Ranch Fur Cruelties ). The fact that animals are willing to chew of their body parts in order to escape means that the leg hold trap must be painful towards the animals, which means it is an inhumane way of capturing an animal. Fur farming has been around for many years, but not always for the poor purpose of fashion. Although there are countless disadvantages with fur farming, many individuals are blinded by the glamour of the fur fashion industry to see that. One of the most crucial issues is how badly fur farming effects the environment which is almost always a victim of a human s doing. Effecting the environment has been a common issue that seems to keep resurfacing all over the world. • 39. The Contributions Of Pragmatism In The Hellenistic Period It was only after Alexander s conquest of the Greek homeland that classical ideas were put under pressure by a changing political climate and social disruption, eventually causing the expanding Greek world to turn to pragmatism and realism. The ensuing Hellenistic period saw a move towards practical applications of scientific knowledge and art styles reflecting the more complex emotions familiar to Hellenistic Greeks. However, despite changing attitudes, the ingenuity and technical proficiency of Greek individuals was generally undiminished. In mathematics, for example, Euclid (365 300 BCE) wrote 13 groundbreaking books on geometry that continued to be used until the late 19th century and virtually invented classical (Euclidean) geometry as we know it (Mastin, pars. 3). Archimedes, a 3rd century BCE mathematician from Syracuse, made significant practical advances in the field of physics, inventing the compound pulley and the Archimedean screw; he famously stated, give me a fulcrum, and I ll shift the Earth, affirming his faith in applied science (Cary, 349). Early biologists and naturalists of the Hellenistic periodincreasingly sought applications in medicine, which vastly improved medical care (Cary, 351). Astronomy also saw advances in practical knowledge from figures such as Eratosthenes, who calculated the circumference of the Earth, and Hipparchus, who determined the length of the moon s orbit to within one second (Violatti (a), pars. 9). Watching Mindless Movies Distracting yourself from your pain can be a very healthy way to cope with the stress of living with a chronic illness. Watching a movie you don t have to pay attention to, means you have two socially acceptable hours to stare at one fixed object, let your mind wander, and relax. It was about how back in 1996 Fox Sports decided to launch technology that would make hockey a much more interesting game to watch because people at the time with a basic standard picture on their television were having problems keeping track of the puck. The way they would do this was with this FoxTrax technology they would put a blue fuzz ball around the puck when it moving along the ice than when a player shoots it there would be a red streak that follows it. • 43. The Book of Acts Essay The Book of Acts The book of Acts is known as the birth of the church . Acts recounts the story of the early church from the time of Jesus ascension to Paul s arrival as a prisoner in Rome. Acts was written by the author of Luke s gospel, Luke. Although the author does not name himself, evidence from the book itself proves that the author was Luke. Luke was a physician. Scriptural evidence of this includes Colossians 4:14: Our dear friend Luke, the doctor, and Demas send greetings. Luke often used medical language. For instance, he finds the sailors bandaging the ship in Acts 27:17: When the men had hoisted in aboard, they passed ropes under the ship itself to hold it together. Fearing that they would run... Acts 1:1: In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. Luke 1: 3 4: (3) Therefore, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, (4) so that you may know the certainty of things you have been taught. Because Luke s first book was written to Theophilus as was Acts, Luke must be the author of both. Another reason to believe that Luke is the author of Acts is the way both the book of Acts and Luke are written. The vocabulary, grammar and style are not only consistent throughout both gospels. Luke was an eyewitness of some of the events in chapters 16 28, where he changes his they statements to we statements. An example of this is in Acts16:10 11, 16: (10) And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavored to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them. Just this short poem caused much discussion, and the people s opinions are definitely opposite. 1. It shows the confidence of the new profound woman and how the older generation, or her aunts , reacted to the new movement. 2. Others think that Nancy s liberation and rebellion just a kind of superficial and ironical one. The poem presents an ironic portrait of a liberated new woman whose modern attitudes are expressed in trivial actions. • 45. Informed Consent In Prisons One of the greatest problems in medical research in prisons was poor quality of, if any, informed consent. Many people point to the Tuskegee study on the effects of syphilis, where subjects were deceived into thinking they were gaining medical treatment and the lack of information violated the principle informed consent (McDerott 10). Ethics professor Karen Lebacqz explains that informed consent recognizes the autonomy of subjects (1), as does openness to subject s voice, and confidentiality. Pont, Capron, and Overholser agree that informed consent is a great necessity and must be done with clarity (187; 5; 196). For more than a century, the states have believed that the juvenile justice system was a means to ensuring public safety, by establishing and implementing a system that responds to children as they are maturing into adulthood. Today s youths, however, are increasingly committing more serious crimes that in turn are raising the public s criticism concerning the modern juvenile justice system. The Department of Justice confirms juveniles are entitled to Fifth Amendment protection under the Constitution, against self incrimination in juvenile proceedings. This is despite the nature of the crime whether it is of criminal or non criminal nature of those proceedings. Therefor since a juvenile defendant s liberty is at stake, the Fifth Amendment would apply. The next question that then arises is does the juvenile have the mental capacity to understand their Fifth Amendment rights, that was explained to them when the officer first read them their Miranda Admonishment. Under California law, prosecutors who allege that a minor under the age of 14 has committed a criminal act, the courts must establish that the child can distinguish between right and wrong. The minor must also know what it means to break the law or commit a crime. (In re Gladys R., 1970) Juveniles are not necessarily given every right afforded to adult criminal defendants. Let s take a look at the right to a trial by jury . Juveniles do not have the right to a jury trial instead a Judge decides the juvenile cases. (McKeiver v. Procedure I Take separate samples of humus and forest ground soil and place into cups. Using spray bottle filled with water, take a handful of soil into your hand and mist it with water. Squeeze the samples and try to form it into a ball or a ribbon and determine its texture. Afterwards, do the same test again and determine the consistence and observe the soil structure. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Clay generally has a much higher water holding capacity than that of silt or sand because the particle size of the clay is much smaller allowing much less water to escape. Sand, in comparison, has very large particles which creates space that the water very easily flows out of. Procedure V Use the same procedure as described before to prepare the fresh columns of soil and humus. Weigh the columns of dry soil and humus. First, using the forest soil, use twist ties to suspend the dry columns and the water saturated columns from the previous day in plastic vials. Put 10 mL of water in the 60 cc cup. Record how long it takes for the first drop of water to come out the bottom to the column. Watch until there is no more water standing on top of the column. Do this for the dry forest soil and humus. Repeat with the wet soil column. Question In chart. The relationship between particle size and percolation rate is that the smaller the particle size, the lower the percolation rate. the high permeability of wet sand and the low permeability of wet clay. • 51. Mobile Development And The Mobile Industry The latter half of the past decade has seen new mobile development platforms emerge and become a daily part of the average citizen s life. When Apple Inc. introduced the iPhone (one of the first to use a multi touch interface), the mobile industry experienced a powerful spark. With the creation of the smartphone came the first, true application, or app , ecosystem. The wide variety of mobile apps available provide quick and easy access to services such as news and entertainment to health and fitness. This event quickly restructured the value of certain mobile services and shifted attention to the seemingly lucrative new economy of app development. Abandoned were the traditional pillars of the mobile economy (SMS, telco services, mobile handsets?). These were nearly entirely replaced by the focus towards the mobile app economy. Impressively, this new economy has the largest group of developers (mostly entrepreneurs) to ever enter a technology industry. Despite the rapid growth and the wide variety of economic and consumer related experiments being tested to expand the industry, it is still in an early stage. With the ever increasing number of downloaded apps, entrepreneurs blindly jump on the App Store bandwagon (or more than 30 other new app stores that have launched). Currently, that may not be the wisest decision. The App Store hysteria is beginning to turn into a tech bubble in which most developers will not ever be able to recover their costs. Experts are ...
