The area below the belly button is often hard to tone,...
The area below the belly button is often hard to tone, because stubborn fat tends to settle here and hide
your muscle definition. A healthy diet, cardio and full body strength training can reduce body fat, and
by including targeted exercises, you can add definition to your lower abs. Although abdominals
exercise can sometimes be hard on your neck, the best lower ab exercises require your lower body to
do most of the work.
Hang and Raise Your Legs
A study by the American Council on Exercise showed that knee raises in a captain s chair can
effectively target your abs. (See References 1) During this exercise your hold your body up by your
forearms and raise your knees toward your chest, which effectively targets the lower part of your ...

It s essential to draw your belly button toward your spine to engage your abs, and to prevent raising
your hips, or sagging your rib cage to the floor. Push back into your heels and breathe as you attempt
to hold the pose for up to one to two minutes. For extra lower ab involvement, raise one foot a few
inches off the floor. Do the exercise up to three times. (See References 3)
Scissor Your Legs
During leg scissors, there s no strain on your neck, because only your lower body moves, while your
head is resting on the floor. Pull your belly button toward your spine as if to eliminate the space
between your lower back and the floor. Then raise your legs to a 45 degree angle, separate them as far
apart as you can, and then move them back together, crossing one leg over the other. Do this 20 times
and finish one to three sets. For variety, scissor your legs up and down, and for an added challenge,
wear ankle weights. (See References 2)

Upper Class And Social Class
Body
Social class profoundly affects an individual s academic achievement in school. In this case, social
class shapes the attitudes and values of an individual which further influences their future both
academically and professionally. Empirical evidence suggests that individuals/students attending
college/university from a lower social class face difficulties when socially integrating into the school
system leading to higher dropout rates and poor academic performance (Darnon, Jury, and Aelenei,
2017; Lehmann, 2007, 90). In comparison, a majority of individuals from a higher social class tend to
succeed in their academic career (they complete university/college, high academic performance rates,
etc.) (Darnon et al., 2017). This further infers that an obvious sociocultural difference continues to
persist among individuals who belong to different social classes.
Individuals from upper classes have the advantage of being at ease when integrating into the schooling
system. This is due to the fact that upper class individuals often have parents who reinforce
educational topics such as politics, world news, history, etc. within the home. This is supported by
findings which indicate that one of the factors related to success among upper class students is their
access to cultural capital (Callender and Mason, 2017, 24 27). Further, it is also important to take into
consideration that individuals from the upper class often have parents with college/university degrees

Essay about The Aspects of Multiculturalism in Canada
A country built on immigration, Canada has long had a reputation of being culturally and ethnically
diverse. While multiculturalism is meant to be built on equality and appreciation of different cultures,
its concept has gained both support and opposition. On one hand, it allows for more assortment and
the voices of minorities have a higher chance to be heard. On the other hand, loss of unity and
conflicts may occur due to contrasting worldviews of the citizens. All in all, multiculturalism is a
controversial policy that has both advantages and disadvantages, but has proven to be a successful
strategy in Canada.
Multiculturalism has many positive effects, including but not limited to freedom of religion and
beliefs, increased ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Negative aspects of multiculturalism are also in effect, such as incoherence within a nation, loss of
national identity, and conflicts among different ethnic groups. First of all, while differences are
highlighted and encouraged, they are also a cause of disjointedness among the different ethnic groups
in a country because they fail to function as one nation, instead forming small communities. This often
causes a lack of communication between such ethnic groups and leads to a loss of unity in a country.
Furthermore, immigration and pluralism often lead to a diminishment or complete disappearance of
national identity in a multicultural country. An example of this is Canada because it was created on the
basis of immigration without having its own distinct culture from the beginning, but choosing to
include different cultures instead to become what is known today as a multicultural society. While
generally it is seen in a positive light, it often raises concern that the country s identity may disappear
altogether in the future. Finally, intense pluralism is oftentimes a reason for riots and conflicts,
indirectly related to immigrants or ethnicity. For example, in France tension among ethnic groups and
riots have happened in the past because of the conditions of the communities where the original
immigrants settled in, combining high unemployment rates and discrimination. ( France Riots )

Lolita Commercial
Could you live in a bathtub for 40 years?
Marine parks such as SeaWorld hold many sea animals prisoner to confined concrete tanks with little
emotional and physical interaction. Blackfish, a documentary that sheds light on the dark side of
SeaWorld and it s abuse on Tilikum (a killer whale). Similarly, Lolita, an orca whale at Miami
Seaquarium has been living in captivity for forty seven years in poor conditions. Peta brings attention
to this matter by making a Free Lolita poster with the celebrity, Adriana de Moura testifying for Lolita
as well. The poster displays Adriana in a small white bathtub with bold print above stating, Could you
live in a bathtub for 40 years? with a short paragraph at the bottom describing just a few of Lolita s
hardships. The ad promotes all ethos, logos and pathos persuasion well enough to make the reader
want to learn more about the cause.
The ad claims Lolita lives alone in a tiny tank with chemically tested water and is being neglected.
This would appeal to an emotional audience invoking sadness and pity for Lolita enough to donate to
her release. Pathos could have been displayed better by showing a picture of Lolita in her small tank
as a reference or in the bathtub with Adriana to make it more heartbreaking for the audience. Pathos
used in narrative art can also use humor, fear, desires, affection ... Show more content on

It describes how long Lolita has been living in captivity and uses reasoning to persuade the reader by
including buzzwords such as free . This gives the audience the sense of factual writing even though

viewers to the Peta website to learn more about Lolita and how to help her, but this poster could make
a more fact based appeal if it included statistics, studies, surveys, etc. Logos used in narrative writing

Illegal Migration
In this complex machinery that is illegal migration many theorist tend to only skim the surface by and
assume the most important determining factor in leaving or staying is solely based on the economic
aspects. This machine not only produces a numerous amount of illegal migration, it fosters it into a
sophisticated labor control system that is manipulated by social, market (labor and economic market)
and political factors. Although economic means is neither the only nor the most important determinant
in illegal migration it was indeed behind the birth of the exodus of mass populations. The economic
and labor market growths in the 21st century are both the primary factors and precursors for the

and Mexico. This U.S. Mexico agreement allowed Mexican citizens to obtain temporary agricultural
work in the United States. Although the braceros were required to obtain a certain permit, many illegal
braceros fell through the cracks and managed to enlist without protest from the U.S. government;
essentially they could care less as long as they were able to get the controlled labor they desired.
When looking at the illegal migration model as a well oiled machine that produces labor control, we
have highlighted two key components; the markets that started the machine and the political policies
that acted as the inner workings, directing the entire operation to the desired end result. The force that
keeps this machine going are social networks between illegal migrants. As more Mexicans immigrate,
typically men, the later send for their family and relatives, and since the communities in Mexico are so
tightly knit one neighbor hears of the others success in America they decide to take the dangerous
voyage as well. This process is the last factor that has maintained the process of transformation of
contemporary and historical illegal migration into labor control, by regularly feeding the machine new
migrants through the social networking in the U.S. and Mexico. During these illegal journeys migrants
are at the mercy of extreme elements, from the blistering heat and to the unbearable cold. In

Justice System In 12 Angry Men
On October 3, 1955 one of America s most immense juror cases had finally announced a verdict , O.J
Simpson was found not guilty in killing his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman Nicole s
friend. Only to find out years later that O.J. was actually guilty for this crime, when detectives went to
O.J. s estate home they found multiple evidence such as blood all over his white Bronco, hairs of his
on Ron s shirt, and even footprints of Simpson s shoe size. Was the United States justice system so
corrupt and prejudice to the point that they let a guilty man free just because of his social status and
money. Simpson displays the main topic in the short story 12 Angry Men which is whether the United
States has a prejudice unfair justice system. Sidney Lumet and Reginald Rose the writers and directors
of 12 Angry Men wrote and produced a play about 12 jurors that briefly discuss a trial and come to a
verdict , personal issues develop which causes conflict and only makes the process more grueling. The
accused boy is being found guilty for murdering his father, 12 jurors are put in a hot room in New
York and spend hours briefly viewing the scenario. Although one might think that the justice system
should be left in the hands of citizens ,the director of 12 Angry Men , Sidney Lumet demonstrate that
the United States justice system is unfair and is simply corrupt , inefficient , and unjust due to the

Musical Theatre Research Paper
A musical theatre production generally consists of drama, music, songs, and dancing. These aspects
are what make musical theatre one of the most favored type of drama production.
The difference between a play and a musical play is obviously the input of music and how the story is
told. In plays, the emotions and actions are showcased through words and movement, but in musical
theatre, the content can be expressed through dialogue as well as music and dancing.
Musical theatre has quite an extensive history. They can be dated back to ancient Greece, around the
5th century BCE. However, the most noteworthy period of time, The Golden Age, for musicals was
during the 1940s to the 1960s. Since this was the period right after the economic recession, when The
American Dream was coveted, many musicals wrapped their ideas and themes based on it. During this
Golden Age time period, hits from Rodgers and Hammerstein such as The Sound of Music and The
King and I were produced. These pieces are still widely spoken of today. There were many focuses
that the plays were formulated on during specific periods. For example, during the early 1900s,
musicals were often light and humorous, since this was during World ... Show more content on

One of the oldest forms is known as Opera and Operetta. However, they are not commonly known as
musicals. It does fit into the definition of musical theatre though, since they do combine music, song,
dance, as well as acting into a performance. In Operas, the story is conveyed more through the song
than through dialogue. So, there is less talking and more singing. Operettas are more alike to musicals.
They are considered light operas with acting. Operettas usually have a less serious message, and go
for a humorous approach. They also have more talking than Operas, but not as much as usual
musicals. Since there is more singing than talking, characters in Operas and Operettas are not as
complex as in normal

My First Semester At The Ohio State University Essay
If you can t make it better, you can laugh at it. I found this quote by American columnist Erma
Bombeck about a month into my first semester at The Ohio State University. I liked it a lot. So much
that I wrote it in sprawling letters on the dry erase board that I had been using to scribble my
motivational quote of the week and I never erased it. I could not have known at the time how Erma s
words would transform from something my roommate and I would say flippantly about bad first dates
and failed quizzes, into a philosophy that would carry me through four years of studies and shape the
person I am today. I needed laughter desperately during those first few months of college. My grades
were bad, my family was in crisis, I felt friendless and alone and I did not know who I was or what I
was doing. Those first few months felt like I was stumbling through a dark an unfamiliar room,
looking for lamp to turn on. Stumbling through that darkness I eventually found myself in the
basement of a university building auditioning for Fishbowl Improv. I had come to fishbowl auditions
on a whim. Bijan, the boy who lived across the hall, told me I should try out with him, and so I did.
Nobody was more surprised that I was when I got the call that I made it in.
My time in fishbowl taught me more than I could have ever guessed there was to learn. Most of all, I
learned that I hadn t been taking laughter seriously enough. Comedy feels like an instinct until you
apply yourself to it.

Digital Screen Advantages And Disadvantages
Paper or plastic? was the often heard question from the bagger at the grocery store for many years, but
these days the bigger decision is whether to read words on paper or a digital screen. Paper has a long
and documented history, having been in use for over 2000 years, while the availability of the digital
screen has only come about in the past 50 years. Both paper and digital screens provide the same
fundamental function, an avenue for the written word to be conveyed and understood by a person.
While the ability to look at print on paper or on a screen are fundamentally the same, using paper still
has a unique set of advantages such as the smaller chance of being sidetracked, the accuracy of
proofreading, and the increased comprehension that the digital screen has not caught up to yet. The
ability to get easily distracted while using a digital screen provides a driving reason to consider
hardcopy to accomplish tasks. Tasks often have deadlines, and this doesn t change when having to
accomplish reading for a project or a research paper. The longer it takes the user to finish the reading,
the harder it becomes to accomplish the job in the allotted time. Using a laptop or desktop computer to
perform reading can be advantageous to the user due to the ability to have multiple documents open
and be able to do any number of other tasks at the same time. This is certainly a reason to perform
work using the digital screen, but this becomes a drawback when being used to

Summary Of Where The Bird Sings Best
Where the Bird Sings Best by Alejandro Jodorowsky Restless Books, March 31, 2015 After their son
José drowns in a flood, Teresa and Alejandro Levi fall into dispute about the nature of religion. Teresa
curses God s cruelty, and she scorns her faith keeping friends. Alejandro, on the other hand, is no
stranger to suffering. He watched his own mother get axed to death by her mad Hungarian maid
during a surge of anti Semitic pogroms in Ukraine, so he responds to his son s death by retreating
more deeply into prayer. He prays so intensely that he breaks into the Interworld, an in between world
of pure spirit. Here he meets a rabbi, and, much to Teresa s disbelief and frustration, this rabbi

magic, sex, violence and persecution. The end date also marks the start of the Great Depression, and
the reader is left with a tingling premonition that the narrator s mission now is to lead the world out of

Stereotypes About Stereotypes
Do we suffer from having stereotypes about and against us? Of course, we ve all had those
experiences where we were held up to a certain standard based on our culture and race. It puts labels
about how a person should act or live according to their sex, race, personality, and other factors. This
could influence individuals who like different things or do different activities, but feel ashamed of
doing so because of stereotypes. We should learn not to judge and perceive people because of what we
think they should be like, and should change our point of view about the stereotypes that are in our
society. In the end, self perception is the only thing that can make or break us.
Presently, people choose to stereotype because I believe we like the idea of labeling ourselves and
others. We stereotype people when we are reluctant to gather the information we need to make a fair
judgement about people or situations. Richard Rodriguez was one of the many people to be
stereotyped. His writing Blaxicans talks about dealing with immigrants who vary of different races
that are entering our borders today. He spends a large portion of his article pointing out that racial
variety is not a new concept in the US. Rodriguez believes that the problem is because a person s
culture is determined by what makes them feel comfortable, and not by what color skin they have or
where they come from. Younger generations no longer see a separation between different cultures, but

Risk Factors for Multiple Sclerosis
Familial and heritability studies have suggested a role for genetics in MS (11, 12). According to these
studies, MS does not result from gene mutations or aberrations; rather, polymorphisms in a number of
genes may predispose people to MS. These polymorphisms act independently and each can contribute
a little. Several studies have identified susceptibility genes on chromosome 6p21 and 17q22 in the
coding regions for major histocompatibility complex class II (MHC II) (11 14). Also the interleukin 7
receptor (IL 7R) gene alteration (15 17) and two single nucleotide polymorphisms within the
interleukin 2 receptor alpha (IL 2Ra) coding region have been linked to MS risk (18).
Pathophysiologically, these polymorphisms might have effects on the immune system.
There is no doubt that genetics has revolutionized our understanding about the human diseases.
Regarding MS; however, the practical application of these data has not been acquired yet. Gene
screening for finding patients prone to MS, is neither ethical nor scientifically supported.
In another way, genetic engineering might find some ways to treat MS or prevent further worsening of
the disease. This might work as a secondary or tertiary prevention strategy. Gene manipulation in cell
therapy studies have been experimented in animal models. This type of researches, not directly based
on the mentioned genetic background of MS, shows the effects of administering genetically
engineered cells in correction of some pathogenetic

Sexism In Sports
Sexism in Sports Sexism limits our country. In a world where sexism still exists, women face
challenges every day as they choose to embark in athletic activities. Even with the efforts of Title IX,
which was established in 1972, there is not equality in sports for men and women. Sexism is real with
stereotypes and discrimination on the basis of sex. Even with the high level of success reached by
numerous female athletes of many different sports, male athletes always seem to have the upper hand.
Whether it is pay, media, support, gear, or playing grounds, one sex always has the better of the two.
Male athletes dominate a field that truly is shared by both sexes. What if we treated male athletes the
way we treat female athletes? That is a world hard to imagine, and honestly, it shouldn t be. Through
female athletes sharing their stories of unfair treatment and pay, sexism and generations of inequality
in sports can be overcome. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 states, No person in the
United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or
be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial
assistance. The impact of Title IX on the lives of so many girls is immeasurable. It has created
opportunities for women, where opportunities did not use to exist. Unfortunately, it has not completely
eradicated sexism. Women in many professional sports, which are also played by

The Secret Lives of The Brain
PART I. Incognito: The Secret Lives of The Brain, was very straight forward and extremely intriguing.
As David Eagleman, a neuroscientist, elaborates on the American criminal justice system, he brings
out important factors that I believe everyone should be focusing on in this country. He states that our
actions are not only made up by our unconscious mind, but the way we perceive things is controlled
by our unconscious ability to even realize we are controlling it. The conscious mind not only
represents only a small part of our brain activity and function, but it also perceives certain behaviors
differently when constructed with drugs or damage The process of the unconscious brain activity
differs from the conscious part but they both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
David Eagleman explained in detail how the cognitive brain works and what factors play a part in the
thought process. He did so by picking apart different segments of the brain and describing what
developmental processes it goes through when obtaining thought and language. I would definitely
recommend this book to other people if they want to better understand how people think, act, and
behave. When certain things are skewed in the brain, it reacts in many different ways. Whether that be
poorly or very highly. It depends on what factors are brought upon the brain and what that specific
part of the brain takes in. Eagleman does a fantastic job explaining with good humor how the thought
process comes about. Without our cognitive ability to think and act, there would be no personality or
knowledge on this earth. I believe that the book was sort of well organized in that Eagleman did a
good job of pairing together segments of the brain and explaining how they work together or as a
whole. But, I did however, think that Eagleman jumped around a lot and didn t seem very clear in
some parts. For instance, when he would talk about how the conscious mind is just the tip of the
iceberg in the brain, then what is the rest of the brain doing? He goes into detail about the conscious
and unconscious brain, but what about the subconscious part? It s crazy to think that our body can
react to certain stimuli and situations before we even realize that we need to act upon

How Is Harrison Bergeron Competitive
The story Harrison Bergeron is about a futuristic society where everyone is equal in every which way.
People in this society have handicaps to make sure they are as equal as everyone else. But a young
boy named Harrison Bergeron didn t seem to have an effect on his handicaps. He would always find a
way to overcome them and eventually he tries to take over the society and become emperor . This
action Harrison took may have been supported by motivation which could have been sparked by some
competition. The short story Harrison Bergeron, written by Kurt Vonnegut Jr., teaches its readers that
competition is the birthplace of motivation and or atrociousness.
Firstly, with everyone being equal, there would be no competition, so people wouldn t be motivated to
do their best. The year was 2081 and everyone was finally equal (Pg. 1).Without competition why
would people do their best, if they weren t gonna get the satisfaction of doing something better than
everyone else or at least try to. It s in human nature to be competitive and if everyone was equal, then
there would be nothing to be competitive about. The elimination of competition eliminates motivation
and if you eliminate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pretty soon we d be right back to the dark ages again, with everybody competing against everybody

they don t have competition, plus, everyone is equal so, there would not be a winner. The society may
have made everyone equal, so there would be no competition, because competition can sometimes
lead to atrociousness, like what Harrison Bergeron did. So, the society may have made everyone equal

Five Women Who Loved Love By Ihara Saikaku
About The Author
A famous Japanese writer Ihara Saikaku, born in 1642, was a son of a wealthy merchant in Osaka. He
had a wife and three kids, one of which was blind and in addition to taking care of his family, he
learned to write haikai poetry and comics at a young age. Since his wife died at a young age, he
became adventurous as he traveled extensively writing about the various parts of the country (Rollins,

becoming the first Japanese writer able to reflect the life of the modern city Japan and how he
supported equality.
Saikaku s Famous Novel
In 1686, Ihara Saikaku published a book named Five Women Who Loved Love and shares the stories

The Financial Crisis Life Was Simple For Central Bankers
EFORE the financial crisis life was simple for central bankers. They had a clear mission: temper
booms and busts to maintain low and stable inflation. And they had a seemingly effective means to
achieve that: nudge a key short term interest rate up to discourage borrowing (and thus check
inflation), or down to foster looser credit (and thus spur growth and employment). Deft use of this
technique had kept the world humming along so smoothly in the decades before the crash that
economists had declared a Great Moderation in the economic cycle. As it turned out, however, the
moderation was transitory and the crash that ended it undermined not only the central bankers record
but also the method they relied on to prop up growth. Monetary ... Show more content on

Central banks were not entirely unprepared for this challenge. In the 1990s the Japanese economy had
slumped following an asset price crash. Facing weak growth and deflation the Bank of Japan had
slashed rates to near zero before embarking on a series of experiments with unconventional monetary
tools. Although the Bank of Japan s performance was widely considered disappointing, if not an
outright failure, the rich world s central banks began by drawing upon its playbook. image:

edition/20130921_SBC415.png Unconventional policy falls into two broad categories: asset purchases
and forward guidance . Asset purchases are a natural extension of central banks more typical activities.
America s Federal Reserve, for instance, has long bought Treasury bills and other bonds with short
maturities to increase the money supply and reduce short term interest rates. After its benchmark rate
fell close to zero the Fed began buying longer term securities, including ten year Treasury bonds and
mortgage backed securities, to bring down long run borrowing costs (see chart 1). Printing money to
buy assets is known as quantitative easing (QE) because central banks often announce purchase plans
in terms of a desired increase in the quantity of bank reserves. The Bank of Japan first attempted QE
in 2001 when it promised to buy {Yen}400

Is Scout An Important Character In To Kill A Mockingbird
Why is Scout Such an Important Character
To Kill a Mockingbird is one of the most recognizable books of all time. Ever since it s July 1960
release date it has been hailed for its genius writing, relatable characters, and narration. The novel is
told through the eyes of Scout, a young girl living in the fictional Alabama town of Maycomb, and
how she develops during an important time in her childhood. Scout s character will affect the story in
many different ways. As the only narrator, all of what you know of Maycomb and its inhabitants is
through her eyes. Her childlike demeanor, strong southern accent, and personality add to the book s
charm and memorability. You will get to see her evolve as a person throughout the entire story. Scout
is not only the most memorable, but the most important.
In To Kill a Mockingbird the primary narrator of the story is Scout. All the characters, setting, and plot
are introduced by Scout. You will come to know these characters through her. Why is Scout as the
narrator so important? Simple, you are able to see Scout growing up facing these challenges internally,
instead of externally. Through this story, you understand her emotions and see her learning about the
world. This also demonstrates a major conflict she and her family face. She ultimately comes to her
own conclusions. We have all been kids once, so we can relate to Scout and her dilemma. During the
confrontation with Bob Ewell at the ending of the book, if Jem were the

When Van Cliburn International Piano Competition Silver Medalist and piano superstar Joyce
Yang comes to my mind, I think of an artist who has the astounding ability to splash many
brilliant colors to a canvas in an engaging way that brings me awe. In fact, she is known as a
pianist who sees music in a colorful way, and she brings those feelings to her music through her
very unique style of interpretation and disposition. She also has a way of drawing the audience
into the engaging musical world that she is pouring out on stage in such a way that causes you to

Joyce Yang powerfully emoted those characteristics at the
piano by playing in a serious, commanding manner as though she were playing a Russian piano
concerto with broad chords. The piano greatly filled the theater through her very big sound
which blew away many of the pianists in attendance because the particular piano that she played
on has a heavy action. Although heaviness can easily lead to harshness on the piano, Joyce Yang
showed absolutely none of that at all and made her deep parts very emotionally heart wrenching
instead which I really appreciated because it is not easy for some people to find that balance.
The third movement was played in a very light and carefree manner that felt very refreshing
because it gave the audience a break from the two previous fierce movements. It had a very
exotic, comedic, and dance like feel to it which Joyce Yang presented in a very fun way that
had my fingers wanting tapping the rhythm. In the final movement, she showcased some
charming innocence that reminded me of the third movement s mischievousness. I thought
that this movement would continue to be lighthearted until the end, but I was very deceived.

Racism in the Chesapeake Area Essay
Racism in the Chesapeake Area
The Chesapeake area in the seventeenth century was a unique community that was almost absent of
racism. In this community, at this time, property was the central and primary definition of one s place
in society. The color of one s skin was not a fundamental factor in being a well respected and valued
member of the community. Virginia s Eastern Shore represented a very small fellowship of people that
were not typical of the Southern ideals during this time period and gave free blacks owning property a
great deal of respect and merit usually equal to that of any white man around. Racism, as a
generalization, was a common and mostly unified way of thinking in the Southern states for a very
long time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, as governor, Bennett may have helped to look after the Johnson s legal and economic interests
as well. By acquiring his estate, it enabled Johnson to have a constant source of income and therefore
help the local community with it s economy similarly. This relationship between he and the
community came to help him when later his estate nearly burned down entirely. The court of
Northampton treated him very well in helping them get through the disaster. He was treated just as any
white man in Johnson s position would have been. This example alone shows how merely owning
property and giving back to the local community was a priority in establishing respect among people
of the Northampton area; his skin color did not matter. Another free black, Philip Mongum, was given
usually respectable treatment for a crime of adultery with a white woman, Margery Tyer. Mongum
was lucky enough to have been sold his freedom and managed to become a relatively prosperous
farmer. He also leased a 300 acre plantation with two white men in 1678 and later in 1680 acquired
more land, 200 acres, on his own. Needless to say this give him a very high level of respect and
standing among the local people. When the issue of the affair was discovered Northampton appeared
more concerned with the Sin of Adultry than having any concern that he was black. Mongum received
a large fine and was told to keep out of the company of

Theme Of Rape Of The Lock
Mock epic is a narrative poem which aims at mockery and laughter by using almost all the
characteristic features of an epic but for a trivial subject. In the The Rape of the Lock there is an
invocation to Muses, intention of subject, battles, supernatural machinery, and journey on water,
underworld journey, long speeches, feasts (coffee house), Homeric similes and grand style but all for a
simple family dispute instead of a national struggle. The grand action of a low subject produces
comical laughter and makes the story more absurd. Instead of magnificent passions and great fights
between heroes in which the immortals take part, we see the theme of The Rape of the Lock as a
minor passionate quarrel assisted by the spirits of the air. The ... Show more content on

In the poem Rape of the Lock, Pope has introduced the episodes of the game of Omber which suggests
the powerful battle and the cards involve the soldiers described in great detail. There is also the battle
between lords and ladies just like the battle in epic poem. But in mock epic this battle is fought with
fans and snuff instead of with swords and spears. There are single fight between Belinda and Baron
and between Clarissa and Sir Plume. Another very important element of an epic is the active
participation of supernatural machinery like god and goddesses. In The Rape of the Lock, there are
sylphs and gnomes. These aerial spirits are small and unimportant things and are therefore, exactly in
keeping with the triviality of the theme. These aerial spirits guards the person of the heroine that is
Belinda and when there is fight between the flowers of Belinda and those of the Baron, they take part
in the fight like god and goddesses in war. Pope described the protecting sylph under Ariel. In that the
sylphs are the lampoon of epic deities. A long dangerous journey on water is a must in an epic. Here in
the poem The Rape of the Lock , Belinda takes a relaxed journey on water without any stress and
danger. She travels up the Thames in a boat to join Hampton Court to play the game of card Omber

Summary Of Racism And Sexism In Graceling
Not only is this significant to Katsa, but also the people of Randa s kingdom who feared her and the
King s fury. Another example of resistance to corruption is later in the book, when Po and Katsa
discover King Leck of Monsea was the person who captured Po s grandfather. Disgusted, they travel
towards Monsea, only to discover Leck was graced with the ability to control the opinions of those
around him. Bitterblue, the King s son, had recently broken free of the spell, and, in an act of defiance,
joined Katsa and Po in a journey away from Monsea to develop a plan for the assassination of Leck,
and the freedom of Bitterblue, the people of Monsea, and the rest of the kingdoms. The last main
theme found in Graceling, racism and sexism, is seen throughout the entirety of Cashore s novel.
Evidently inspired by modern day civil right issues, there are certain scenarios we see often
throughout the book. Although racism may seem like a non factor at first, there are often references in
the book to the idea that all Gracelings have two different eye colors. (EX: Po has two very differently
colored eyes, being silver and gold) Although not presented as a main idea, Katsa and other
Gracelings are often treated differently simply because of their eye color. Due to the dangerous
potential of Graces, society has become slightly afraid of people just like them, simply because of the
varying hues of colors found in the eyes of a Graceling. Sexism is another element that can be seen

Comparing Iago And Othello

The Honorable Murderer
Iago and Othello, as military figures, have shown courage in combat and are respected members of
their community. In the end though, each of them kills his wife in a fit of rage. It would be easy to
view both of them in the role of a villain. Both men are deeply flawed; however, Iago is the true
villain. He enjoys his evil actions. Othello, while allowing jealousy to consume him, is the tragic hero
of the story.

him. For most of the play, we view him as the hero. We are rooting for him to figure out he is being

his wife, and his life s work are consumed by a fit of jealous rage. His accomplishments rendered

IBM is constantly re assessing and clarifying its business practices to meet with the rapid changes in
the industry. No set of guidelines should ever be considered the absolute last word under all
circumstances. The Chief Executive Officer and senior executives are responsible for setting standards
of business ethics and overseeing compliance with these standards. It is an individual employee s

In 1999, IBM was ranked number one in business ethics according to Business Ethics Corporate

largely due to its mishandling of the change from a defined benefit to a cash balance pension plan,
which drew widespread employee outrage. The switch cost some older employees as mush as 50
percent of their pension, while it saved the company an estimated $200 million. The company did
agree to offer more employees a choice of plan, but the unpopular move is still a blot upon IBM s
otherwise positive leadership in the area of employee relations. (Business Ethics Corporate Social

Introduction
Over the course of the year I have submitted 4 different internal standards. Through the process these
internals I have applied skills that I have learnt in application software, operating systems, file

1.41 (Implement basic procedures to produce a specified digital information outcome)
In this standard I was presented with a database of the food brought by students at the café which I
then completed and produced a mail merge of the products brought to be sent to the costumer s
parents. To do this I showed a variety of skills using Microsoft Excel and Word.
1.42/1.43 (Demonstrate understanding of basic concepts of digital media and to produce a specified
digital media outcome) In this standard I applied my knowledge of the Big Four (Contrast, Repetition,
Alignment and Proximity) as well as document layout to create a children s book.
1.50 (Demonstrate understand of the common components of digital infrastructures) In this standard I
used my knowledge of digital infrastructures to install and operating system which included drives

  • 2. The area below the belly button is often hard to tone,... The area below the belly button is often hard to tone, because stubborn fat tends to settle here and hide your muscle definition. A healthy diet, cardio and full body strength training can reduce body fat, and by including targeted exercises, you can add definition to your lower abs. Although abdominals exercise can sometimes be hard on your neck, the best lower ab exercises require your lower body to do most of the work. Hang and Raise Your Legs A study by the American Council on Exercise showed that knee raises in a captain s chair can effectively target your abs. (See References 1) During this exercise your hold your body up by your forearms and raise your knees toward your chest, which effectively targets the lower part of your ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s essential to draw your belly button toward your spine to engage your abs, and to prevent raising your hips, or sagging your rib cage to the floor. Push back into your heels and breathe as you attempt to hold the pose for up to one to two minutes. For extra lower ab involvement, raise one foot a few inches off the floor. Do the exercise up to three times. • 3. Upper Class And Social Class Body Social class profoundly affects an individual s academic achievement in school. In this case, social class shapes the attitudes and values of an individual which further influences their future both academically and professionally. Empirical evidence suggests that individuals/students attending college/university from a lower social class face difficulties when socially integrating into the school system leading to higher dropout rates and poor academic performance (Darnon, Jury, and Aelenei, 2017; Lehmann, 2007, 90). In comparison, a majority of individuals from a higher social class tend to succeed in their academic career (they complete university/college, high academic performance rates, etc.) (Darnon et al., 2017). This further infers that an obvious sociocultural difference continues to persist among individuals who belong to different social classes. Individuals from upper classes have the advantage of being at ease when integrating into the schooling system. This is due to the fact that upper class individuals often have parents who reinforce educational topics such as politics, world news, history, etc. within the home. This is supported by findings which indicate that one of the factors related to success among upper class students is their access to cultural capital (Callender and Mason, 2017, 24 27). Further, it is also important to take into consideration that individuals from the upper class often have parents with college/university degrees in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Essay about The Aspects of Multiculturalism in Canada A country built on immigration, Canada has long had a reputation of being culturally and ethnically diverse. While multiculturalism is meant to be built on equality and appreciation of different cultures, its concept has gained both support and opposition. On one hand, it allows for more assortment and the voices of minorities have a higher chance to be heard. On the other hand, loss of unity and conflicts may occur due to contrasting worldviews of the citizens. All in all, multiculturalism is a controversial policy that has both advantages and disadvantages, but has proven to be a successful strategy in Canada. Multiculturalism has many positive effects, including but not limited to freedom of religion and beliefs, increased ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Negative aspects of multiculturalism are also in effect, such as incoherence within a nation, loss of national identity, and conflicts among different ethnic groups. First of all, while differences are highlighted and encouraged, they are also a cause of disjointedness among the different ethnic groups in a country because they fail to function as one nation, instead forming small communities. This often causes a lack of communication between such ethnic groups and leads to a loss of unity in a country. Furthermore, immigration and pluralism often lead to a diminishment or complete disappearance of national identity in a multicultural country. An example of this is Canada because it was created on the basis of immigration without having its own distinct culture from the beginning, but choosing to include different cultures instead to become what is known today as a multicultural society. While generally it is seen in a positive light, it often raises concern that the country s identity may disappear altogether in the future. Finally, intense pluralism is oftentimes a reason for riots and conflicts, indirectly related to immigrants or ethnicity. For example, in France tension among ethnic groups and riots have happened in the past because of the conditions of the communities where the original immigrants settled in, combining high unemployment rates and discrimination. Marine parks such as SeaWorld hold many sea animals prisoner to confined concrete tanks with little emotional and physical interaction. Blackfish, a documentary that sheds light on the dark side of SeaWorld and it s abuse on Tilikum (a killer whale). Similarly, Lolita, an orca whale at Miami Seaquarium has been living in captivity for forty seven years in poor conditions. Peta brings attention to this matter by making a Free Lolita poster with the celebrity, Adriana de Moura testifying for Lolita as well. The poster displays Adriana in a small white bathtub with bold print above stating, Could you live in a bathtub for 40 years? with a short paragraph at the bottom describing just a few of Lolita s hardships. The ad promotes all ethos, logos and pathos persuasion well enough to make the reader want to learn more about the cause. The ad claims Lolita lives alone in a tiny tank with chemically tested water and is being neglected. This would appeal to an emotional audience invoking sadness and pity for Lolita enough to donate to her release. Pathos could have been displayed better by showing a picture of Lolita in her small tank as a reference or in the bathtub with Adriana to make it more heartbreaking for the audience. Pathos used in narrative art can also use humor, fear, desires, affection ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It describes how long Lolita has been living in captivity and uses reasoning to persuade the reader by including buzzwords such as free . This gives the audience the sense of factual writing even though free can mean nothing since Lolita would be released to a coastal sanctuary. Illegal Migration In this complex machinery that is illegal migration many theorist tend to only skim the surface by and assume the most important determining factor in leaving or staying is solely based on the economic aspects. This machine not only produces a numerous amount of illegal migration, it fosters it into a sophisticated labor control system that is manipulated by social, market (labor and economic market) and political factors. Although economic means is neither the only nor the most important determinant in illegal migration it was indeed behind the birth of the exodus of mass populations. This U.S. Mexico agreement allowed Mexican citizens to obtain temporary agricultural work in the United States. Although the braceros were required to obtain a certain permit, many illegal braceros fell through the cracks and managed to enlist without protest from the U.S. government; essentially they could care less as long as they were able to get the controlled labor they desired. When looking at the illegal migration model as a well oiled machine that produces labor control, we have highlighted two key components; the markets that started the machine and the political policies that acted as the inner workings, directing the entire operation to the desired end result. The force that keeps this machine going are social networks between illegal migrants. As more Mexicans immigrate, typically men, the later send for their family and relatives, and since the communities in Mexico are so tightly knit one neighbor hears of the others success in America they decide to take the dangerous voyage as well. This process is the last factor that has maintained the process of transformation of contemporary and historical illegal migration into labor control, by regularly feeding the machine new migrants through the social networking in the U.S. and Mexico. Only to find out years later that O.J. was actually guilty for this crime, when detectives went to O.J. s estate home they found multiple evidence such as blood all over his white Bronco, hairs of his on Ron s shirt, and even footprints of Simpson s shoe size. Was the United States justice system so corrupt and prejudice to the point that they let a guilty man free just because of his social status and money. Simpson displays the main topic in the short story 12 Angry Men which is whether the United States has a prejudice unfair justice system. Sidney Lumet and Reginald Rose the writers and directors of 12 Angry Men wrote and produced a play about 12 jurors that briefly discuss a trial and come to a verdict , personal issues develop which causes conflict and only makes the process more grueling. The accused boy is being found guilty for murdering his father, 12 jurors are put in a hot room in New York and spend hours briefly viewing the scenario. Although one might think that the justice system should be left in the hands of citizens ,the director of 12 Angry Men , Sidney Lumet demonstrate that the United States justice system is unfair and is simply corrupt , inefficient , and unjust due to the jurors biased way of thinking, ignorant attitude ,and the lack of ... • 11. Musical Theatre Research Paper A musical theatre production generally consists of drama, music, songs, and dancing. These aspects are what make musical theatre one of the most favored type of drama production. The difference between a play and a musical play is obviously the input of music and how the story is told. In plays, the emotions and actions are showcased through words and movement, but in musical theatre, the content can be expressed through dialogue as well as music and dancing. Musical theatre has quite an extensive history. They can be dated back to ancient Greece, around the 5th century BCE. However, the most noteworthy period of time, The Golden Age, for musicals was during the 1940s to the 1960s. Since this was the period right after the economic recession, when The American Dream was coveted, many musicals wrapped their ideas and themes based on it. During this Golden Age time period, hits from Rodgers and Hammerstein such as The Sound of Music and The King and I were produced. These pieces are still widely spoken of today. • 15. My First Semester At The Ohio State University Essay If you can t make it better, you can laugh at it. I found this quote by American columnist Erma Bombeck about a month into my first semester at The Ohio State University. I liked it a lot. So much that I wrote it in sprawling letters on the dry erase board that I had been using to scribble my motivational quote of the week and I never erased it. I could not have known at the time how Erma s words would transform from something my roommate and I would say flippantly about bad first dates and failed quizzes, into a philosophy that would carry me through four years of studies and shape the person I am today. I needed laughter desperately during those first few months of college. My grades were bad, my family was in crisis, I felt friendless and alone and I did not know who I was or what I was doing. Those first few months felt like I was stumbling through a dark an unfamiliar room, looking for lamp to turn on. Stumbling through that darkness I eventually found myself in the basement of a university building auditioning for Fishbowl Improv. I had come to fishbowl auditions on a whim. Bijan, the boy who lived across the hall, told me I should try out with him, and so I did. Nobody was more surprised that I was when I got the call that I made it in. My time in fishbowl taught me more than I could have ever guessed there was to learn. Most of all, I learned that I hadn t been taking laughter seriously enough. Digital Screen Advantages And Disadvantages Paper or plastic? was the often heard question from the bagger at the grocery store for many years, but these days the bigger decision is whether to read words on paper or a digital screen. Paper has a long and documented history, having been in use for over 2000 years, while the availability of the digital screen has only come about in the past 50 years. Both paper and digital screens provide the same fundamental function, an avenue for the written word to be conveyed and understood by a person. While the ability to look at print on paper or on a screen are fundamentally the same, using paper still has a unique set of advantages such as the smaller chance of being sidetracked, the accuracy of proofreading, and the increased comprehension that the digital screen has not caught up to yet. The ability to get easily distracted while using a digital screen provides a driving reason to consider hardcopy to accomplish tasks. Tasks often have deadlines, and this doesn t change when having to accomplish reading for a project or a research paper. The longer it takes the user to finish the reading, the harder it becomes to accomplish the job in the allotted time. Using a laptop or desktop computer to perform reading can be advantageous to the user due to the ability to have multiple documents open and be able to do any number of other tasks at the same time. This is certainly a reason to perform work using the digital screen, but this becomes a drawback when being used to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Of course, we ve all had those experiences where we were held up to a certain standard based on our culture and race. It puts labels about how a person should act or live according to their sex, race, personality, and other factors. This could influence individuals who like different things or do different activities, but feel ashamed of doing so because of stereotypes. We should learn not to judge and perceive people because of what we think they should be like, and should change our point of view about the stereotypes that are in our society. In the end, self perception is the only thing that can make or break us. Presently, people choose to stereotype because I believe we like the idea of labeling ourselves and others. We stereotype people when we are reluctant to gather the information we need to make a fair judgement about people or situations. Richard Rodriguez was one of the many people to be stereotyped. His writing Blaxicans talks about dealing with immigrants who vary of different races that are entering our borders today. He spends a large portion of his article pointing out that racial variety is not a new concept in the US. According to these studies, MS does not result from gene mutations or aberrations; rather, polymorphisms in a number of genes may predispose people to MS. These polymorphisms act independently and each can contribute a little. Several studies have identified susceptibility genes on chromosome 6p21 and 17q22 in the coding regions for major histocompatibility complex class II (MHC II) (11 14). Also the interleukin 7 receptor (IL 7R) gene alteration (15 17) and two single nucleotide polymorphisms within the interleukin 2 receptor alpha (IL 2Ra) coding region have been linked to MS risk (18). Pathophysiologically, these polymorphisms might have effects on the immune system. There is no doubt that genetics has revolutionized our understanding about the human diseases. Regarding MS; however, the practical application of these data has not been acquired yet. Gene screening for finding patients prone to MS, is neither ethical nor scientifically supported. In another way, genetic engineering might find some ways to treat MS or prevent further worsening of the disease. This might work as a secondary or tertiary prevention strategy. He states that our actions are not only made up by our unconscious mind, but the way we perceive things is controlled by our unconscious ability to even realize we are controlling it. When certain things are skewed in the brain, it reacts in many different ways. Whether that be poorly or very highly. It depends on what factors are brought upon the brain and what that specific part of the brain takes in. Eagleman does a fantastic job explaining with good humor how the thought process comes about. Without our cognitive ability to think and act, there would be no personality or knowledge on this earth. I believe that the book was sort of well organized in that Eagleman did a good job of pairing together segments of the brain and explaining how they work together or as a whole. They had a clear mission: temper booms and busts to maintain low and stable inflation. And they had a seemingly effective means to achieve that: nudge a key short term interest rate up to discourage borrowing (and thus check inflation), or down to foster looser credit (and thus spur growth and employment). Deft use of this technique had kept the world humming along so smoothly in the decades before the crash that economists had declared a Great Moderation in the economic cycle. The third movement was played in a very light and carefree manner that felt very refreshing because it gave the audience a break from the two previous fierce movements. It had a very exotic, comedic, and dance like feel to it which Joyce Yang presented in a very fun way that had my fingers wanting tapping the rhythm. In the final movement, she showcased some

  • 33. Racism in the Chesapeake Area Essay Racism in the Chesapeake Area The Chesapeake area in the seventeenth century was a unique community that was almost absent of racism. In this community, at this time, property was the central and primary definition of one s place in society. The color of one s skin was not a fundamental factor in being a well respected and valued member of the community. Virginia s Eastern Shore represented a very small fellowship of people that were not typical of the Southern ideals during this time period and gave free blacks owning property a great deal of respect and merit usually equal to that of any white man around. Racism, as a generalization, was a common and mostly unified way of thinking in the Southern states for a very long time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also, as governor, Bennett may have helped to look after the Johnson s legal and economic interests as well. By acquiring his estate, it enabled Johnson to have a constant source of income and therefore help the local community with it s economy similarly. This relationship between he and the community came to help him when later his estate nearly burned down entirely. The court of Northampton treated him very well in helping them get through the disaster. He was treated just as any white man in Johnson s position would have been. This example alone shows how merely owning property and giving back to the local community was a priority in establishing respect among people of the Northampton area; his skin color did not matter. Another free black, Philip Mongum, was given usually respectable treatment for a crime of adultery with a white woman, Margery Tyer. Mongum was lucky enough to have been sold his freedom and managed to become a relatively prosperous farmer. He also leased a 300 acre plantation with two white men in 1678 and later in 1680 acquired more land, 200 acres, on his own. Needless to say this give him a very high level of respect and standing among the local people. When the issue of the affair was discovered Northampton appeared more concerned with the Sin of Adultry than having any concern that he was black. Mongum received a large fine and was told to keep out of the company of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Theme Of Rape Of The Lock Mock epic is a narrative poem which aims at mockery and laughter by using almost all the characteristic features of an epic but for a trivial subject. In the The Rape of the Lock there is an invocation to Muses, intention of subject, battles, supernatural machinery, and journey on water, underworld journey, long speeches, feasts (coffee house), Homeric similes and grand style but all for a simple family dispute instead of a national struggle. The grand action of a low subject produces comical laughter and makes the story more absurd. Instead of magnificent passions and great fights between heroes in which the immortals take part, we see the theme of The Rape of the Lock as a minor passionate quarrel assisted by the spirits of the air. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the poem Rape of the Lock, Pope has introduced the episodes of the game of Omber which suggests the powerful battle and the cards involve the soldiers described in great detail. There is also the battle between lords and ladies just like the battle in epic poem. But in mock epic this battle is fought with fans and snuff instead of with swords and spears. There are single fight between Belinda and Baron and between Clarissa and Sir Plume. Another very important element of an epic is the active participation of supernatural machinery like god and goddesses. In The Rape of the Lock, there are sylphs and gnomes. These aerial spirits are small and unimportant things and are therefore, exactly in keeping with the triviality of the theme. These aerial spirits guards the person of the heroine that is Belinda and when there is fight between the flowers of Belinda and those of the Baron, they take part in the fight like god and goddesses in war. Pope described the protecting sylph under Ariel. In that the sylphs are the lampoon of epic deities. A long dangerous journey on water is a must in an epic. Here in the poem The Rape of the Lock , Belinda takes a relaxed journey on water without any stress and danger. She travels up the Thames in a boat to join Hampton Court to play the game of card Omber adorning her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Summary Of Racism And Sexism In Graceling Not only is this significant to Katsa, but also the people of Randa s kingdom who feared her and the King s fury. Another example of resistance to corruption is later in the book, when Po and Katsa discover King Leck of Monsea was the person who captured Po s grandfather. Disgusted, they travel towards Monsea, only to discover Leck was graced with the ability to control the opinions of those around him. Bitterblue, the King s son, had recently broken free of the spell, and, in an act of defiance, joined Katsa and Po in a journey away from Monsea to develop a plan for the assassination of Leck, and the freedom of Bitterblue, the people of Monsea, and the rest of the kingdoms. The last main theme found in Graceling, racism and sexism, is seen throughout the entirety of Cashore s novel. Evidently inspired by modern day civil right issues, there are certain scenarios we see often throughout the book. Although racism may seem like a non factor at first, there are often references in the book to the idea that all Gracelings have two different eye colors. (EX: Po has two very differently colored eyes, being silver and gold) Although not presented as a main idea, Katsa and other Gracelings are often treated differently simply because of their eye color. Due to the dangerous potential of Graces, society has become slightly afraid of people just like them, simply because of the varying hues of colors found in the eyes of a Graceling. Sexism is another element that can be seen ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 38. Comparing Iago And Othello Tobiah Rothlingshofer Dr. Kasee Laster English 1102 April 6, 2015 The Honorable Murderer Iago and Othello, as military figures, have shown courage in combat and are respected members of their community. In the end though, each of them kills his wife in a fit of rage. It would be easy to view both of them in the role of a villain. Both men are deeply flawed; however, Iago is the true villain. He enjoys his evil actions. Othello, while allowing jealousy to consume him, is the tragic hero of the story. Othello was raised in and around the military. From the tender age of seven he served as a solider. During the 16th century, mercenary armies were primarily made up of foreigners. Mercenaries were often recruited from the economically ... The Chief Executive Officer and senior executives are responsible for setting standards of business ethics and overseeing compliance with these standards. It is an individual employee s responsibility to comply with these standards. In 1999, IBM was ranked number one in business ethics according to Business Ethics Corporate Social Responsibility Report. IBM dropped from its top position to number 5 in 2000. This was largely due to its mishandling of the change from a defined benefit to a cash balance pension plan, which drew widespread employee outrage. The switch cost some older employees as mush as 50 percent of their pension, while it saved the company an estimated $200 million. The company did agree to offer more employees a choice of plan, but the unpopular move is still a blot upon IBM s otherwise positive leadership in the area of employee relations. Through the process these internals I have applied skills that I have learnt in application software, operating systems, file management and digital ethics. This four standards were: 1.41 (Implement basic procedures to produce a specified digital information outcome) In this standard I was presented with a database of the food brought by students at the café which I then completed and produced a mail merge of the products brought to be sent to the costumer s parents. To do this I showed a variety of skills using Microsoft Excel and Word. 1.42/1.43 (Demonstrate understanding of basic concepts of digital media and to produce a specified digital media outcome) In this standard I applied my knowledge of the Big Four (Contrast, Repetition, Alignment and Proximity) as well as document layout to create a children s book. 1.50 (Demonstrate understand of the common components of digital infrastructures) In this standard I used my knowledge of digital infrastructures to install and operating system which included drives and utilities on the personal computer I had built in standard 1.51. 1.51 (Implement basic procedures for servicing a personal computer system) In this standard I used my knowledge about servicing personal computer systems to find and fix problems in both hardware and software.
