Bernard' work presentation
Bernard Champoux's work focused on designing an interface called CAILS to support iconic communication. CAILS used symbols and icons in place of words. Users were able to understand messages in CAILS even without word order. However, longer sentences were more difficult for younger users. The work also involved designing a touch interface for conversational messages. Iterative design processes improved the interfaces based on user studies and evaluations.

Designing Structure: Interaction Design
Interaction design involves understanding how users interact with technology over time within a specific context. Early designs focused on "operating the machine" but the field has evolved to focus more on how people perform tasks and experience technology as part of their daily lives. Effective interaction design considers contextual factors, user activities, and aims to make experiences useful, usable and pleasurable.

Audience provides feedback on appearance, functionality, and interest. Feedback is recorded. Students then work on projects and help each other. By Friday, students must email their code, data, assets and a summary of received feedback and goals for final submission.
22. Translation & Rotation I
This document discusses recursion, translation, and rotation in Processing. It provides examples of:
1) Recursion and how it requires an exit condition to avoid infinite loops. An example of recursive square function is given.
2) The translate() function, which shifts the origin temporarily for drawing, and examples of translating shapes.
3) Drawing vertex shapes using beginShape(), vertex(), and endShape() methods. Examples include a trapezoid and pyramid top.
4) Rotating shapes using the rotation() method and how the origin can be moved with translate() before rotating. A rotating pyramid example is shown.
