What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Franchising
Franchising is a method of doing business where we have a franchisor that trains and shares his
intellectual property with the franchisees that will be running the business as their own but under the
guidance as well as the brand name of the franchisor and they pay him a cut of the profits
Some well known franchisers of today are McDonalds and KFC. Franchising in India wasn t popular
in the 1990 but now India had showed that she is one of the profitable destinations for a foreign
franchisor and the widespread of KFC and dominos proves that franchising is now a home for millions
and millions of people .... Franchising is a very important way for companies to grow and it also helps

And all of these are creating new jobs opportunities and changing a lot of the citizen s lifestyles
especially of the middle class that is growing with a better income.
Even though franchising has been in India for decades but the growth rate has only skyrocketed during
the last few years. There are already more than 600 franchising deals and brands in India and most of
them are American like pizza hut, Kodak, KFC, UPS ....
Some of the advantages of franchising in India and some of the reasons behind all these foreign brands
wanting in aside from India s huge market and growing demand in the 3 sectors of economy are, first
of all the lo capital requirements due to the fact that some of the Indian franchisees can finance the
businesses on their own and that way the franchisors will grow their brands without putting a lot of
money on the line. In second the diversity of India that plays a huge role as well as the size and
geography of India. We can t not mention the fact that Indian businessman like to have control over
what they own and pass it on to their heirs which is why it is safe to assume that the business will stay
running and in the family for a lot of coming generations. Finally one of the factors of attraction is that
Indians use English on a daily basis and we can say that it is their second language and that means that
the relationship between the franchisor

Silko s Yellow Woman
Silko s use of multiple points of view in her exposition engage the reader and reinforce her themes.
Her switching between societies and points in time allow her to present the ideas and perspectives of
multiple groups and what affect those ideas have. This changing of perspective also shows how ideas
have shifted over time. The structure of Silko s exposition makes her points clear, convincing and
engaging because of its shifting perspective. Silky analyzes modern white society and Laguna society
and compares their ideas, dealing with beauty and identity. This allows her to give reason behind her
insecurities and her eventual acceptance of them. She points out the focus on visual beauty and
normality in white society and uses her interaction with the tourist to show how these views can harm
people. She then contrasts this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By including details from her own life in a relatable manner she shows how her points relate to them.
It also makes her seem more personable because she presents her problems and insecurities upfront.
Silko s inclusion of the Laguna stories keep the reader interested because it presents new ideas in the
form of entertainment. These stories are designed to keep children interested and can easily maintain
the interest of the readers while teaching them the morals that Silko wants to bring across. Another
aspect of Silko s storytelling that keeps the reader engaged and brings across her points is her
interactions with her great grandmother. These, along with interactions between Silko and her aunts,
help to draw the reader into Silko s life and explain how the Laguna thought process has affected her
personally. These vivid memories allow Silko to connect to the readers on a personal level which
makes them more open to her ideas and allows them to see the specifics of how different thinking can

Memorandum of Law
MEMORANDUM TO: John Doe FR: Patricia Oswalt DA: Monday, April 01, 2013 RE: Mary Smith
auto accident / medical malpractice Introduction As requested, I have reviewed the facts of the above
captioned file, along with the applicable law and summarized same in this memorandum. Mrs. Mary
Smith suffered an injury to her right ankle in an automobile accident on 10/3/95. After surgery and
months of rehabilitation, Mrs. Smith still suffers daily. I have researched the facts regarding a personal
injury action against Paul Joseph, as well as a medical malpractice action against the medical
providers. Applicable Law Personal Injury Statute of Limitation 4 years from the date of the incident
giving rise to the action. Fla. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this case, the accident is the proximate cause of Mrs. Smith s injuries and the medical providers are
the intervening cause, as their breach of duty exacerbated Mrs. Smith s injury to the point of
permanent disability and disfigurement. Possible Defendants Paul Joseph, the other driver Florida s no
fault law includes an injury threshold limiting law suits to claims of great bodily injury, permanent
disability or disfigurement. Statutes, however, are unclear as to exactly what constitutes great bodily
injury. It is unlikely that Paul Joseph would be named as a defendant in this action, as Mary s PIP
insurance would be the proper party. Under Florida s Civil Remedy Statute, §624.155(1)(b), Mary s
insurance company is required to act in her best interests. Should they act in bad faith by failing to
settle for a reasonable amount, Mary may sue for an amount which is a reasonably foreseeable result
of a specified violation of this section by the authorized insurer and may include an award or judgment
in an amount that exceeds the policy limits. Fla. Stat. §624.155(8) However, the statute goes on to
state that No punitive damages shall be awarded under this section unless the acts giving rise to the
violation occur with such frequency as to indicate a general business practice and these acts are: (a)
Willful, wanton, and malicious; (b) In reckless disregard for the rights of any insured; or (c) In

Analysis Of An Open Letter To An Open Letter
In an unsophisticated and extremely satirical manner, Gene Morgan wrote An Open Letter to an Open
Letter to an Open Letter. In this letter, published on McSweeny s Internet Tendencies, he satirizes
open letters that criticize open letters with a personal anecdote of a conversation he had with a lady in
the gym in January. Morgan expertly blends an unconventional approach to his open letter with humor
as he critiques the premise of open letters to open letters, encouraging his audience to simply listen to
what others have to say. The brilliance of Morgan s letter is how he accomplished writing this letter
against normal conventions and still had a sincere impression. His overall organization plays a large
role in this, as it keeps the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He shortly addresses the subject, open letter to an open letter, and then quickly changes topics once
more. Here, he introduces Brandy. Morgan describes his acquaintance at his local gym as energetic,
friendly, intelligent, and physically fit. She acts as the anchor to his open letter, as about half of the
content of his letter consists of an anecdote about her. As the only aspect of his writing that is
conventional, his organized approach leads straight into his anecdote about Brandy. In this anecdote,
Morgan gives himself the opportunity to now use his humor as an effective persuasive technique. His
style of humor in his letter is blunt, unexpected humor. An instance of this blunt humor occurs as
Morgan is about to describe his conversation with Brandy, in light of the tone of his conversation, he
says people are so damn nice in January. This obviously does not follow conventions for an open
letter, as it contains the mild curse, damn. Morgan could have completely left this word out of this
simple statement, but by adding damn to this sentence, he catches the reader off guard with the kind of
humor that would cause a spit take. He takes a completely normal statement and transforms it into an
emotional appeal. This trend follows throughout the letter and the appeals build up as to point toward
the final main point of the letter. Morgan places another humorous appeal to pathos in his answer
regarding how his New Year s went:

Veterans Affairs Killing Our Veterans Essay
Veterans Affairs Killing Our Veterans
Our United States military members swear on an oath to support and defend our constitution. These
men and women protect us stateside and fight for our country abroad during war times. Loyalty is not
only taught from the day they enter the service, but it is earned throughout their career. What happens
to the well being of our veterans when their military career has ended? Is the United States as loyal to
these veterans as they were to us? The United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) offers
healthcare to veterans when returning from war. Unfortunately, too many veterans are not receiving
adequate or timely care due to delays, poor record keeping, and mismanagement of fund.
Josh Hicks, author at The Washing Post, says that the Veterans Affairs has an ongoing problem of
delays in servicing veterans. Phoenix VA hospital kept delays off the books with secret wait lists that
allegedly included dozens of patients who died while waiting for care (Hicks 1). Several patients died
at an Atlanta clinic because of mismanagement (Hicks 1). A Department clinic in Fort Collins,
Colorado, falsified appointment records to give the impression that staff doctors saw patients within
the agency s goal of 14 days (Hicks 1). In addition to these issues, other veterans waiting to hear if
their disability claims had been approved for care were waiting in excess of 125 days without
determination. Retired four star Army General Eric Shinseki, serving

etc, at first they were used for royal funeral processions but soon it was used in war by the army
commanders who thought it was a good way to surprise their enemies. After these chariots the next
line of vehicles invented was the stage coach, this was mainly used to email letters from one country
to another, the first stagecoach was invented in the fifteen hundreds and was in Hungary, by the
sixteen hundreds these stagecoaches were able to travel along fixed routes to Europe and other places
of interest (Herbst). After the stagecoach in Hungary, the next invention was the covered wagon; the
covered wagon was invented in the eighteen forties in the United States of America. These are all the
various trends and changes that took place before the invention of the automobile that is used today.

Comparing Pisan s Mystical Experience As A Feminist Weapon
Likewise, Crane remarks that many of Joan s supporters felt uncomfortable with her preference to
assume a masculine identity (75). This can be seen in Christine de Pisan s depiction of Joan since she
does not formally address her clothing, de Pisan writes, A little girl of sixteen (isn t this something
quite super natural?) (XXXV). Instead of acknowledging Joan s choice to dress like a male, Christine
prefers to use a mystical approach, one that can accurately describe the warrior. Likewise, when Joan
is described, writers accept the armor she wears but choose not to elaborate any further (75).
Consequently, the only image of Joan from the middle ages averts placing her in masculine clothing
even though she is recognized for her cross dressing (Crane 76). In both cases, Joan of Arc s choice to
renounce her gender identity as a female places uncertainty in the minds of her advocates and disgust
in the perception of the clergy. Throughout her poem, Christine uses adjectives to describe Joan of Arc
that reaffirm the warriors image of a masculine gender identity. Joan s ... Show more content on

Joan alternately awed, frightened, and enraged those who had to deal with her (31). This intense

way that allows her to be placed in a masculine role. Barstow describes how Joan s, ...visions led her

Observational Learning Analysis
Observational learning occurs when an individual allows another s behavior to influence theirs; my
fondest memory of observational learning was when I learned how to ice skate. Peering at all my
fellow classmates, I learned that running onto the ice is the fastest way to injure myself. Reluctantly, I
decided to proceed slowly onto the ice and taught myself how to ice skate through watching other
experienced skaters. Even now, I am constantly learning in this manner like applying makeup or
cooking. My mother never taught me how to apply cosmetics when I was younger so I have always
relied on watching other; for example, watching a YouTube video to apply cosmetics. YouTube has
been a huge help.

Disney Seventieth Anniversary Essay
It was Disney s Seventieth Anniversary on July 17 in Knox Pennsylvania and I decided to have a few
friends over to celebrate this occasion. When everyone arrived we sat down to enjoy a spectacular
meal made by some of my friends. When we sat down and were eating I told them that I had a story to
tell then. They all leaned in as I began to tell them my tragic but amazing story.
It all began on a warm summer day on July 17th in China. There was a large gathering in the fresh
waters of South China Sea. Flounder from The Little Mermaid, Mushu from Mulan, Dory from
Finding Nemo, and Olaf from Frozen were all swimming as fast as they could to get to Dory s house

Pros And Cons Of The Anti-Arbitration Injunction
Gary Born robustly argues that the anti arbitration injunction should virtually never be issued , and if
need be, only with the utmost circumspection and only in rare circumstances . This view, with respect,
can be termed as too strict. Notwithstanding, it is important to recognise the potential of conflict
between the courts and arbitral tribunals, and to take steps to mitigate this conflict.
I. POTENTIAL TENSION BETWEEN COURTS AND ARBITRAL TRIBUNALS

Say Yes Essay
The Effects of Symbols On Say Yes The author of the short story Say Yes, Tobias Wolff, uses a
number of symbols to express his different views on racism throughout the story. Wolff uses this
literary device to express a message to his readers. Symbols, something representing something else
by association resemblance or convention, are used efficiently in this short story.
Wolff uses colors to symbolize a hatred for an alternative race in this short story. The husband more
than once makes reference to dark colors which shows the reader that the husband sees this world in
black and white. The husband sees the world as good vs. evil, white vs. black society. Furthermore,
the reference to color in the short story Say Yes , ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The cut she had from the silverware symbolizes the hurt on the inside. The pain from inside was
symbolizing the pain on the inside. Her husband s inconsiderate feelings for alternate races made her
feel like she didn t know him as well as she thought she did. Wolff used symbolization very effectively
by comparing the pain on the outside to the pain on the inside. Wolff s decision to put in this
description of dirty water was not because Wolff hates washing dishes. Wolff put that in there to show
a deeper meaning to it. Wolff is trying to show the husband s views on the topic being discussed
indirectly. Wolff shows a deeper meaning when the husband is continuing to wash the dishes. He is
spraying the silverware and darkened to pale blue (Wolff 518). This shows again the husband s
reference to colors. This happened right after the wife asked if he would marry her if she were black.
Wolff added this symbolism right after the question to indirectly show the husbands feelings toward
the topic. He shows his dislike for African Americans when he refused to answer the question. Wolff
uses colors to show his negative feelings towards interracial relationships. This symbolization helps
contribute to his theme of the husband s strong dislike for African Americans. Wolff uses excellent
symbols to express his message or theme. Short stories form is compressed where each word is

Comparing Philbrick s View Of Different Authors Contributions
Despite Philip s tremendous experience with selling land to the English, Philbrick unfairly portrays the
king as as an indecisive ruler and poor decision maker. For over a decade the Wampanoag ruler had
been the intermediary for native land sales to English proprietors. As Philbrick explains, any Pilgrim
man wishing to obtain native land was required to make the purchase through the official Plymouth
court, thereby preventing unfair sales (like alcohol for land) that the Indians could later dispute. One
would imagine that in dealing only with the officials, as opposed to the men purchasing the land,
Philip would be granted greater protection from any one of the potential abuses that he could suffer
from. But instead, Philbrick recounts how, by monopolizing the purchase of Indian lands, Plymouth
officials kept the prices they paid artificially low (171). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Philip, who had his own animal herd, would have been aware of the uncontrollable factors that were
also at play, such as the unhappiness which arose when English cows and horses grazed on Indian
corn. Even as he assumed leadership thirteen years before the war, Philip would have been in tune
with the inevitable and growing threat English settlements posed to his people. Yet instead of
attempting to appease the Indians by granting them permission to go on wild, ineffective raids, which
would have only motivated the English, Philip waited until he could gather an effective, armed, multi
tribe force before he waged war. By delaying his response and refusing to allow personal vendettas be
the spark for battle, tactful Philip is inaccurately described by

Molds Essay
Humans spend 90% of their lives indoors (Sorenson, 1999), thus, they are in contact with mold
everyday of their lives. Because people are indoors so often, harmful mold normally grows inside.
There are three types of molds, allergenic, pathogenic, and toxigenic. The most common are allergenic
and pathogenic found in homes. These molds tend to grow in damp places, such as, bathrooms,
kitchens, and basements. Within these growing molds, they produce spores (Flappen et al, 1999).
Spores are used to pollinate and settle in damp locations to produce more molds. These spores are
highly toxic to humans over long durations. Some diseases include pulmonary hemorrhage,

These children mostly spend their times indoor, such as, in schools, daycares, and at home. In a study,
scientists tested asthma mainly in African Americans; more than a third of the participants were at
high risk of Asthma. (Kercsmar et al,2006) These children lived in poor condition homes, as well as,
an urban area. Scientists also found that the largest area of mold infestation was found in the
basement. (Kercsmar et al, 2006) This proves that mold spores are a major factor in inducing asthma.
Human exposure is closely linked to a high mold spore counts in homes that are 75 years old and
older, in poor conditions, or are in prominent water damages (Flappan et al, 1999). Humans can also
be in contact with spores in newer homes, if they have a leaky roof or mold infestation in the
ventilation systems. A leaking roof causes water damage to a certain area in a home. When the water
damage causes mold, their spores are transported through the air (book). This also happens within a
ventilation system because the spores can travel within the ventilation ducts and spread into every
crevasse of a house. These spores attach to anything and everything because they can grow on any
type of material and starts biodeteriorating instantly; within one or two days, the mold will be visible
(book). In addition to upstairs, mold is also present downstairs. The highest amount of mold is present
in the basement due to moisture and dampness. This is because

secondly, people long for inspirational leadership, leadership thatwill raise their national pride, their

peopleunderstand that a leader is nothing without his people as well as that the peopleare nothing

Key Data Collection Methods
1. What were the key data collection methods used and how did they align with the focus of the
research?
After reading the article Utilizing goal setting strategies at the middle level: Help students self
regulation behavior I found there were three different data collection methods that were used by the
research team. The first data collection method that was used was pre and post surveys. Surveys are
one of the most common and efficient ways to gather information. They provide large scale responses
very fast and can be utilized very efficiently and with minimal expense and can be easily and quickly
analyzed (Efron Ravid, 2013, p. 107). The research team gave the students that participated in the
research project a survey before the research project started and then again at the conclusion of the
project. They asked the students question from the Adaptive Learning Scales. This survey examined
how student learning is related to motivation, behavior, and effort (Patel, Smith, Fitzsimmons, Kara,
Detmer, 2012). The second data method that was used was the daily goal journals that the students
were asked to fill out. These goal journals was developed using the six specific goals that were created
by the research team. The students were asked to take notes on how they felt they were doing moving
toward their goals (2012). The last data method that was used was the weekly reflection sheet. There

I never traveled on a flight before I boarded one for the USA. I used to ask everyone that did, what the
experience was like. How it felt to be travelling through the clouds, how it felt to look down at the

Diali Cissokho and Kaira Ba
On March 27, I had the distinct pleasure of witness a unique band perform on the porch of the Love

seeing the art which was located inside. I, with several of my friends, arrived at the venue early and

which from my angle looked like it was consisted of shells, began to play, it had some traditional rock
elements to each. Then, the kora also began to play. The kora is a unique instrument unlike anything I
have ever heard or seen before. It has twenty one strings and is played similar to that of a guitar, but

The kora sounds extremely similar to that of steel drums, with the same kind of almost Caribbean or
West African flavor. As the first song got under way, Cissokho began to sing as well. His voice was

After the ratification of the Thirteenth Amendment and into the Reconstruction era, African Americans
struggled to become equal citizens of the nation and produced a number of important and remarkable
leaders who demonstrated to a rapidly changing and complex society that they could vote, hold
political offices, and legislate effectively. However, the bitterness and regular acts of violence toward
African Americans that characterized most of this period has caused many Americans to disregard or
totally erase from their collective memories this most important period in the nation?s history. This
article discusses more fully the historical memory of Reconstruction.
The American Civil War (1861?1865) ended with a decisive victory for the Union. The Confederacy
was defeated soundly; the enslavement of about four million people of color was over. Enslavement

The Battle of Normandy
The Battle of Normandy WWII was a very brutal war, but The Battle of Normandy changed it for us.
This was the turning point in the war. To prepare for this fight the Allies decided to increase the air
strikes and bombings to slow down the German army, who had been trying to take over France at the
time. This battle was set for June 5th, but actually took place on June 6, 1944 at exactly 6:30 a.m,
when the weather was supposed to be the calmest, and ended on June 30, 1944. The Allies wanted to
end Hitler s dream of Nazi denomination (www.dday.org). This invasion is known as one of the largest
and amphibious military assaults in history and required extensive planning. (www.history.com). The
Allies decided that they wanted to trick the Germans into thinking that they were going to land
somewhere else north of Normandy, which made it a surprise attack. Hitler decided to put his troops
more up North because that s where he believed the Allies were going to land. Not only were the
beaches raided, but concentration camps as well. Led by the US Army General Dwight D. Eisenhowet,
the infantries landed and mainly targeted a 50 mile stretch of Normandy. The Americans landed at
Utah and Omaha. The Canadians and British headed for Gold, Juno, and Sword. The army consisted
of 50,000 vehicles, 6,000 ships, and 11,000 planes. Paratroopers and gliders had already landed behind

National Crime Victimization Survey Essay
The National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) was formulated by the federal government s

My Own Passion For Working With Young Children
Growing up I have been fortunate enough to have been taught by some truly inspirational teachers and
I am well aware of the effect they have had on my life and the choices I have made subsequently. My
own passion for working with young children extends from wanting to emulate those role models and
have the same impact on other children.
I have always known that I wanted to work with children; from the age of eleven I knew that I wanted
to become a primary school teaching. I am still as committed now as I was then of achieving that goal.
If being passionate, nurturing, focused and determinate is what you require then I am most certainly
suited for this position. I am a hardworking, confident and trustworthy person with a keen desire to
become a primary school teacher. Having spent two full terms independently managing a class, I have
gained excellent first hand experience and an increased confidence in my own abilities. I consider
myself to be a very well organized, reliable and enthusiastic individual who can not only work
extremely well as part of a team but also remain professional under stressful circumstances. From
September 2011 to January 2014 I have worked both voluntarily and paid at many primary and
secondary schools within Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. This has given me great experience on
how to support the teaching and learning of children right from Key stage 1 through to key stage 3.
During this time I worked very closely with many class teachers,

Effects Of The Voting Rights Act Of 1965
The Voting Rights Act of 1965 was enacted into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson, its goal was to
break down the legal barriers at the state and local levels that prevented African Americans from
exercising their right to vote as it s supposed to be guaranteed under the 15th Amendment of the U.S.
Constitution. This law helped to disperse and reduce systematic discrimination that would ultimately
limit and prohibit African Americans from voting. An example of this being the literacy tests. African
Americans trying to vote would often get turned away by pollers saying that they got the date, time
etc. wrong or filled the application out incorrectly or give them the most difficult of tasks like reciting
the entire constitution all to show their

We All Fall Down Critical Analysis
In Robert Cormier s novel, We All Fall Down, is a young adult thriller that explores the evil side of
humanity through a number of corrupt characters. Cormier, to a large extent, accurately depicts
manipulative and dishonest behaviour whilst also showing the evil lurking within the prominent
characters of Harry Flowers, Buddy Walker and Mickey Stallings who showcase the dark side of
humanity. Cormier explores this through Harry Flower s manipulative actions that result in the
suffering of others. Additionally, the constant dishonest behaviour is shown predominantly through the
main protagonist of Buddy Walker, who deceives the one he loves. Cormier continues to depict the
evil lurking in society through the theme of appearance versus reality through the seemingly harmless
character of Mickey Stallings. Cormier successfully depicts manipulative and dishonest behaviour as
well as showing the evil lurking in the dark side of humanity.
In the novel, We All Fall Down, Cormier is able to show the repercussions of manipulative behaviour,
through the character of Harry Flowers. Harry is able to manipulate Buddy s thoughts and actions due
to his vulnerability. Harry fools Buddy into believing that his actions on the night of the trashing were
deceiving, this can be shown with Harry trying to convince Buddy of this, Maybe I was trying to grab
her and save her from falling, Harry said, his voice suddenly mild and reasonable. Maybe it only
looked like I pushed her. What do they

Thyroid Hormones, Thyroxine ( T4 ) And Triiodothyronine (...
PPL 7. Thyroid function
Thyroid hormones, thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3), are implicated in numerous process,
including growth and development of muscle, bones and the central nervous system (CNS);
metabolism by increasing basal metabolic rate, calorigenesis and appetite; and have cardiovascular
effects due to they make the heart beats faster and harder. Deregulation of the correct function of the
thyroid can lead to different pathological process such as hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism,
thyroiditis, goiters, thyroid cancer and solitary thyroid nodules. The determination of thyroid
hormones, especially FT4, together with TSH is an important element in clinical routine diagnosis. It
is useful when thyroid disorders are suspected and also for the monitoring of therapy.
Before this learning unit, I was aware of general aspect of thyroid structure and function. But I found
it helpful to adequate myself into the synthesis and control of hormone production. The transport of
thyroid hormones along the body was new to me, as well as, the methods of measurement of thyroid
hormones. Some of the thyroid disorders are quite common, so as a health worker, it is important to be
aware of the different tests used to assess the thyroid, such as, plasma T3, T4 and TSH; besides the
tests that establish the cause of the dysfunction, including thyroid autoantibodies (anti thyroid
peroxidase and anti thyroglobulin), serum thyroid binding globulin (TBG), thyroid enzyme activities,

Essay on Stem Cell Research
Stem cells are cells that go through mitosis and separate into special cell types. Stem cells have the
capacity to renew by their selves, resulting in more stem cells. Stem cells are capable of performing a
specific task, such as regeneration and replacement of a damaged or a diseased tissue. There are
billions of cells, all with their own music. As the brain develops, it turns out they re pretty harmonious
an orchestra of keyboards (Zerhouni, 2).The two broad types of cells are embryonic stem cells and
adult stem cells. Embryonic stem cells are kind of like all purpose type. They can specialize and
become any kind of body cell. The Adult stem cells are tissue specific type and can function with
certain types of body cells only. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this technique they take a woman s egg and then they remove the nucleus. Then you take out a
nucleus from a somatic cell of another person. Then they insert the nucleus of the somatic cell into the
egg cell from which we took out the nucleus. Then they derive stem cells form that and those are the
genetic match. So pretty much they are supplanting the nucleus from a somatic cell to an egg cell.
A potential application of stem cells is making cells and tissues for medical therapies. In the modern
world, organs and tissues that are donated can be supplanted with diseased or destroyed ones.
Unfortunately, we have the number of people needing a transplant exceeding the number of organs
available. Pluripotent stem cells offer a source of replacement cells and tissues to treat a variety of
diseases, conditions, and disabilities including Parkinson s disease, blood cancer, amyotrophic lateral
sclerosis, Alzheimer s disease, spinal cord injury, burns, heart disease, diabetes, blood disorders, and
arthritis. Anyone suffering from these common diseases or disorders can be benefited from the stem
cell research applications.
There are many arguments when talking about stem cells research. Some are for it and some are
against it. The pros are that stem cell research can potentially treat or prevent various types of medical
conditions and diseases. It could lead us to better treatment and possibly cure certain

Class In America By Gregory Mantsios Critical Analysis
In the first article titled Class in America by Gregory Mantsios the discussion on class affecting the
United States negatively is brought up. Gregory talks about the fact that people do not choose to be
poor but they are put into situations where they cannot move up in class. Due to the fact that class
creates an immense gap in communities, there are many issues linked to being categorized as the
lower class. In the article Gregory states that class affects more than lifestyle and material well being.
It has a significant impact on our physical and mental well being as well. CITE) The author connects
the idea that if you are in the lower class than you will also deal with other issues include your mental
and physical health declining. Alongside this idea, the author also states All Americans do not have an
equal opportunity to succeed, and class mobility in the United States is lower than that of the rest of
the industrialized world. (CITE) This goes along with the idea that once your born into a class,
breaking out of it is virtually impossible. The author is also making the point that in the United States
class is more problematic than other developed nations and because of this not everyone is given the
chance to break free from a poor lifestyle. In the second reading title Framing Class by Diana Kendall
the idea of class is described as the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Diana focuses on the idea
that the media shapes the way we view class. The media

We can t not mention the fact that Indian businessman like to have control over what they own and pass it on to their heirs which is why it is safe to assume that the business will stay running and in the family for a lot of coming generations. He shortly addresses the subject, open letter to an open letter, and then quickly changes topics once more. Here, he introduces Brandy. Morgan describes his acquaintance at his local gym as energetic, friendly, intelligent, and physically fit. She acts as the anchor to his open letter, as about half of the content of his letter consists of an anecdote about her. As the only aspect of his writing that is conventional, his organized approach leads straight into his anecdote about Brandy. In this anecdote, Morgan gives himself the opportunity to now use his humor as an effective persuasive technique. His style of humor in his letter is blunt, unexpected humor. An instance of this blunt humor occurs as Morgan is about to describe his conversation with Brandy, in light of the tone of his conversation, he says people are so damn nice in January. This obviously does not follow conventions for an open letter, as it contains the mild curse, damn. Morgan could have completely left this word out of this simple statement, but by adding damn to this sentence, he catches the reader off guard with the kind of humor that would cause a spit take. He takes a completely normal statement and transforms it into an emotional appeal. This trend follows throughout the letter and the appeals build up as to point toward the final main point of the letter. Morgan places another humorous appeal to pathos in his answer regarding how his New Year s went: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This can be seen in Christine de Pisan s depiction of Joan since she does not formally address her clothing, de Pisan writes, A little girl of sixteen (isn t this something quite super natural?) (XXXV). Instead of acknowledging Joan s choice to dress like a male, Christine prefers to use a mystical approach, one that can accurately describe the warrior. Likewise, when Joan is described, writers accept the armor she wears but choose not to elaborate any further (75). Consequently, the only image of Joan from the middle ages averts placing her in masculine clothing even though she is recognized for her cross dressing (Crane 76). In both cases, Joan of Arc s choice to renounce her gender identity as a female places uncertainty in the minds of her advocates and disgust in the perception of the clergy. For over a decade the Wampanoag ruler had been the intermediary for native land sales to English proprietors. As Philbrick explains, any Pilgrim man wishing to obtain native land was required to make the purchase through the official Plymouth court, thereby preventing unfair sales (like alcohol for land) that the Indians could later dispute. One would imagine that in dealing only with the officials, as opposed to the men purchasing the land, Philip would be granted greater protection from any one of the potential abuses that he could suffer from. • 25. My Own Passion For Working With Young Children Growing up I have been fortunate enough to have been taught by some truly inspirational teachers and I am well aware of the effect they have had on my life and the choices I have made subsequently. My own passion for working with young children extends from wanting to emulate those role models and have the same impact on other children. I have always known that I wanted to work with children; from the age of eleven I knew that I wanted to become a primary school teaching. I am still as committed now as I was then of achieving that goal. If being passionate, nurturing, focused and determinate is what you require then I am most certainly suited for this position. I am a hardworking, confident and trustworthy person with a keen desire to become a primary school teacher. Having spent two full terms independently managing a class, I have gained excellent first hand experience and an increased confidence in my own abilities. I consider myself to be a very well organized, reliable and enthusiastic individual who can not only work extremely well as part of a team but also remain professional under stressful circumstances. From September 2011 to January 2014 I have worked both voluntarily and paid at many primary and secondary schools within Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. This has given me great experience on how to support the teaching and learning of children right from Key stage 1 through to key stage 3. During this time I worked very closely with many class teachers, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Deregulation of the correct function of the thyroid can lead to different pathological process such as hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroiditis, goiters, thyroid cancer and solitary thyroid nodules. The determination of thyroid hormones, especially FT4, together with TSH is an important element in clinical routine diagnosis. It is useful when thyroid disorders are suspected and also for the monitoring of therapy. Before this learning unit, I was aware of general aspect of thyroid structure and function. But I found it helpful to adequate myself into the synthesis and control of hormone production. The transport of thyroid hormones along the body was new to me, as well as, the methods of measurement of thyroid hormones. Some of the thyroid disorders are quite common, so as a health worker, it is important to be aware of the different tests used to assess the thyroid, such as, plasma T3, T4 and TSH; besides the tests that establish the cause of the dysfunction, including thyroid autoantibodies (anti thyroid peroxidase and anti thyroglobulin), serum thyroid binding globulin (TBG), thyroid enzyme activities, ... Stem cells have the capacity to renew by their selves, resulting in more stem cells. Stem cells are capable of performing a specific task, such as regeneration and replacement of a damaged or a diseased tissue. There are billions of cells, all with their own music. As the brain develops, it turns out they re pretty harmonious an orchestra of keyboards (Zerhouni, 2).The two broad types of cells are embryonic stem cells and adult stem cells. Embryonic stem cells are kind of like all purpose type. They can specialize and become any kind of body cell. The Adult stem cells are tissue specific type and can function with certain types of body cells only. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this technique they take a woman s egg and then they remove the nucleus. Then you take out a nucleus from a somatic cell of another person. Then they insert the nucleus of the somatic cell into the egg cell from which we took out the nucleus. Then they derive stem cells form that and those are the genetic match. So pretty much they are supplanting the nucleus from a somatic cell to an egg cell. A potential application of stem cells is making cells and tissues for medical therapies. In the modern world, organs and tissues that are donated can be supplanted with diseased or destroyed ones. Unfortunately, we have the number of people needing a transplant exceeding the number of organs available. Pluripotent stem cells offer a source of replacement cells and tissues to treat a variety of diseases, conditions, and disabilities including Parkinson s disease, blood cancer, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Alzheimer s disease, spinal cord injury, burns, heart disease, diabetes, blood disorders, and arthritis. Anyone suffering from these common diseases or disorders can be benefited from the stem cell research applications. There are many arguments when talking about stem cells research.
