Before Milgram s findings, the fact that people were inclined to obey to authority figures was already
realized. He just confirmed this belief. Milgram followed effective steps by using precise procedures.
He made sure that the experiment reflected features of an actual situation in which a person would
obey to an authority figure: offering compensation (monetary reward in this experiment), being under
pressure (Prods 1 to 4 in this case), and mentioning that the person who obeys can withdraw. These

The vase I saw at the Art Institute of Chicago is known as a stamnos, and these types of vases were
used to store and hold liquids, like their drinking water. Each vase had its own unique story and the

Columbine by Dave Cullen presented me with a vast array of knowledge and insight into an incident
which I had minimal knowledge of. What very little knowledge I had came from exposure to the
incident through classroom discussions from years past, and occasional references to Columbine
through media vectors such as television and music. I knew the incident occurred after I was born, but
I was unaware of the actual date and far too young to have any sort of recollection in regards to it. I
was aware that there were two shooters who committed the act, but I had no idea what led them to do
