Realism is a literary movement and artistic movement of the 19th century where authors give an exact
representation of society, nature and people as they are. Throughout this century, numerous problems
were emerging in society in Europe because of the Industrial revolution which took place between
1760 until around 1840. Problems such as poverty, poor working conditions, poor living conditions,
and life was no longer a fairy and these changes influenced art and literature. In France, many writers,
painters and artists represented the reality of life in their works.
Gustave Flaubert as well as many other French artists described their society with as much detail and
honesty as they could possibly fit. They wanted art to be a testament of the contemporary society and

After viewing the documentary film The War You Don t See by John Pilger, my previous feelings
towards the war and the way people are treated grew more immense as I felt more informed as to what
was going on behind closed doors. I have always found the thought of war pointless, destructive and
inhumane, this documentary supports my previous attitudes. The way certain media associations
manipulate and hide the truth is a scary thought, this film shows how the media lacks honesty on a
destructive level. How can one take a position and make an informed decision towards what they
should do or how they should react towards these global issues? They can t, it is impossible to make
an informed decision when one is not told the whole truth. The War You Don t See also informs the
viewers to see how poorly the innocent civilians are treated and in many cases how their lack of rights
results in cruel deaths. Pilger presents these issues to the viewers of this film in a way which looks

Aquila is located in the northern sky close to the celestial equator. In Latin, Aquila means the eagle.
The purpose of this assignment is for students to learn how to recognize the Aquila constellation in the

The Aquila constellation is usually described as the eagle. The stars in this constellation form an arrow

especially wars. However, the movies tend to add real and fictional events. Therefore, these motion
pictures were not completely historically accurate, but they do help in spreading the principle idea of
history. The first movie, Red Tails, is based on the Tuskegee Airmen in Italy during WW2. It provides
visuals of what problems this group of colored airmen faced. For example, they were only given used,
