Problem Solving Essay
Nasaya Link Business3050 Capella University May 19.2013
I have worked in the restaurant field for over 6years and it can be very stressful. In this field I have
encountered many problems especially since my promotion. Being that I was a waitress for 4 years
and then being promoted as manager. I feel I have encountered more problems now than ever. I
believe a lot of my staff has a problem with transition. I have worked around many of my coworkers
for so long that I do not believe they see the difference in me as a manager now and a waitress then. I
have bonded so much with my fellow coworkers that I believe I am reason for occurring issues we
may have. One of the main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They complain about hosting issues, Tip out, and issues with the time for getting bar drinks. As far as I
know from the servers their issues with the host were double seating them and not giving them time to
greet the next customer in sufficient time. My solution was to talk to the host and to get them to better
communicate with the servers so this problem would not continue. So far I have not heard anything so
I believe that the problem is under control.
Another issue they had was tipping out the bussers. Their concern was that the waitress did more that
pre bus the tables so they felt they should not have to tip the busser. So I had to do a little investigating
and I spoke with some of the bussers and they inform me that the servers intentionally bus their tables
so they would not have to tip out. I spoke with servers and inform them all that they know what policy
is and is not for them to bus their own tables. I also mentioned that maybe that is why they are having
problems with greeting their tables on time. I explain to the server that had they come to me sooner
they would not have these issues.
Last but not least the server last concern was about getting their bar drinks out in a timely manner. So I
had to go speak with my bartenders and see what their take on the situation was. The bartenders felt
like they were understaffed and it was not enough people to run the bar and get the servers drinks also.
So After watching the bartenders for about 5 shifts

Argument For Coolmini
CONSENT FOR ZELTIQ COOLMINI®
CoolMini® is a cryolipolytic process used in adults to treat visible fat and affect the appearance of lax
tissue under the chin (submental area). CoolMini® procedure uses a non invasive vacuum applicator
to draw in tissue and deliver controlled cooling at the surface of the skin to target and kill fat cells.
Then, the body eliminates dead cells over a period of weeks. This improves appearance by helping
you lose unwanted fat in your face and neck. Desired results may take more than one treatment. The
results are long term but vary by individual. Submental fat bulges and laxity are cosmetic issues that
some people choose to treat; they do not require treatment. There are also many other treatment

STEGANOGRAPHY [n. stə nóggrəfi]
Steganography (literally meaning covered writing) dates back to ancient Greece, where common
practices consisted of etching messages in wooden tablets and covering them with wax, and tattooing
a shaved messenger s head, letting his hair grow back, and then shaving it again when he arrived at his
contact point. Steganography comes from the Greek steganos, or covered, and graphie, or writing .
Synonymous to abstraction, the art and science of hiding information by embedding messages within
other, seemingly harmless messages. Steganography takes cryptography a step farther by hiding an
encrypted message so that no one suspects it exists. Ideally, anyone scanning your data ... Show more

Most people study steganography either as an academic discipline or a curiosity, but I don t know if
even terrorist groups would actually use it, says Chakraborty. Last year, after reading a USA Today
article about steganography and terrorism, Neils Provos, a Ph.D. student in computer science at the
University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, decided do his dissertation on steganography. Provos developed
detection and cracking tools to analyze images for signs of steganography, such as overly large files
and uneven bit mapping. He tested the tools and then used them to compare 2 million images on San
Jose based eBay Inc. s Web site, which has been cited as a possible place for posting and retrieving
hidden messages. Provos found no cases of steganography.

Steganography becomes the focus of attention, dies down, and then the public is all over it again, says
Provos. But it will never be pervasive, because the amount of data you can actually hide in the images
is fairly small. And if someone wanted to steal intellectual property, it d be easier to copy the data on a
disk and carry it out in your pocket. Even if steganography is present, forensics experts prefer to start
by investigating less complex areas. However, in some cases, the only evidence might be hidden in
image or sound files, so investigators need to be aware of steganography and the tools used to detect
and crack it, say experts. It s

Analysis Of William Blake s Songs Of Innocence And Of...
Songs of Innocence and of Experience, which is written by William Blake, was published in 1794.
Author wants to describe the contrary of two states of human soul: innocence and experience. While
Songs of Innocence include is collection of poems about happy, or joyful world, Songs of Experience
are a collection of poems about sorrows, or sufferings. The above selection text is from The Lamb
which is a poem in Songs of Innocence. The first impressive about this poem is that it is as a song for
children and describes the innocence state of human through the conversation between a child and the
lamb. However, each poem could reflect the knowledge of author about something. Blake said that all
he knew is in bible. His poems may be implying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The text starts with naive questions Little Lamb, who made thee? Dost thou know who made thee?
(Blake). It could be considered as simple questions of a child to want to know about the world. These
questions are simple, but nobody can have a correct answer. Descriptive sentences are follow the
questions. A lamb is described through its wool and voice. Those are first things can be observed by
children, so it will be easy for them can know what author is describing. In addition, Blake uses words
delight , bright , tender , rejoice to describe about the lamb, they are also words implied to innocence.
The children are same as the lamb in the selection text and consider a innocence creature. They are
naive, happy and holy. Third, literary device helps to describe the innocence in the selection text. The
lamb is selected on the text rather than other animals. Characteristic of lamb is gentle and playful, and
it have a white soft wool. They could be a symbol of innocence. However, lamb is the choice of Blake
in his poem could imply another thing. The word Lamb is capitalized in the poem. It means that Blake
want to imply specific somebody or something rather than normal lamb. It will difficult to consider
whom Blake wants to talk about. However, as we know about Blake, all his knowledge is from bible.
Lamb in the bible is considered as children of God, and they are guided by God, so they do not have

Cultural Context
Cultural Context Part B
To study the cultural context of Sive and Children of Men means to examine the world of each and the
values and attitude of the people in these worlds. The worlds created in Sive and Children of Men are
very distinct but also have many parallels. Both texts explore the concepts of family, love, fear and
control.
The setting of each text was paramount in informing me about the attitudes and values of that time.
Each text depicts an oppressive and controlled society. Children of Men is set in the year 2027, in the
future, which contrasts to Sive which is set in the 1950 s, in the past. Children of Men is set in urban
London in the future. On the contrary Sive is set in 1950 s Ireland in a very ... Show more content on

Similarly in Sive , Sive is a young girl growing up in 1950 s Ireland. There is nothing special about
Sive. Both protagonists receive motivation to stand up for what they believe in. In children of Men ,
Theo needs to be bribed at first before he gets motivated. However after he is bribed Theo learns
something which gives him hope and drives him on. Kee the lady he is protecting is pregnant with the
first baby in 18 years, your baby is the miracle the world has been waiting for . This displays Theo s
newfound hope; it is this hope that gives him purpose. Similarly Sive also receives a reason to hope
which also gives her purpose. Liam Scuab and Sive fall in love. After being matched with Sean Dota it
is her love for Liam Scuab that drives her to rebel against the match. Sive, I love you are the words
that give Sive purpose to rebel against society. Both Alfonso Cuaron and John B. Keane have created
situations for the protagonists where they are forced to rebel in order to get what they believe in.
Both texts explore the ideas of love and marriage. In Children of Men Theo was married to Julian and
they had a son called Dylan. However baby Dylan died and their grief drove them apart and destroyed
their family. In contrast to this, in Sive Sive and Liam are only beginning their relationship and face
many problems together. In Children of Men Julian and Theo were allowed to choose each other. On

Rabbits Screaming By Peta Essay
Angora Rabbits
Rabbit farms in China are the source of 90 percent of the world s angora, fur ( The Angora Industry ).
There are no penalties for abusing animals on farms in China and no standards to regulate the
treatment of animals. To combat this evil, fortunately there exists an international organization, PETA,
who fights for the ethical treatment of animals. One of the ways PETA champions animal rights is
through T.V. commercials. One of these commercials is PETAAsia s, Why Are Rabbits Screaming,
which uses repetition, irony, and juxtaposition to suggest that animal cruelty is awful and no living
thing should have to endure any type of torture.
PETAAsia s use of repetition in their ad is not subtle. Throughout their video ad, which ... Show more

The two different types of footage used are of a person dressed in a rabbit costume going around
pulling people s hair, and the other of an actual rabbit having its fur ripped out. The inclusion of the
first video takes place in a public area where many people can see the events that occur, and it also has
a comedic value to it because most people who see the beginning part of the video think it s a joke or
prank. Yet the second part which only lasts for around fifteen seconds shows a harmless angora rabbit
having its fur ripped out. This takes away the comedic value from content, and shifts to a more
pressing matter as from the age of 8 weeks old the angora rabbit has to endure having its fur ripped
out. They go through the shearing or plucking process every few months for two to five years (
Angora ). If they survive the two to five years, they are then hung upside down and their throats are
slit, and their bodies are sold for meat ( Angora ). The emphasis on the transition is used to compare
how the rabbit experiences pain just as we

Biotic Macromolecules
Enantiomers are two same chemical moieties which have a different spatial arrangement. They are
described as mirror images of each other, that is they are non superimposable. They have similar
physical properties but differs in some chemical properties. The two different arrangements are
classifieds as L and D , depending upon the functional group of reference. In human beings, sugars are
present in D configuration whereas amino acids are present in L configuration. To address the reason
behind the specificity of the configuration of the macromolecules in human beings, various theories
have been proposed. Some of these theories talk about the abiotic origin of these macromolecules and
some about the biotic origin of these macromolecules. The abiotic theories talk about the
environmental conditions and accidental imbalance in the concentration of the two forms during the
process of evolution which led to an abundance of one of the forms. Biotic theory talks about the
preferential difference between the two forms on the basis of their importance in the biological
functions/processes. Abiotic theories 1. Accident theory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Speculations of involvement of an extraterrestrial body are one of the proposed supporting reasons to
the accident theory. A meteor named Murchison crashed in Australia in the year 1969. Chemical
studies found an excess of enantiomeric forms which are presently in abundance. The proposed
hypothesis on the basis of the concentration of chemical moieties on the meteor was that it brought
with it an excess of one of the forms of enantiomers which propagated and expanded in

Against Legalization Of Marijuana Essay
There currently exists a great debate concerning Legalization of marijuana. Many people are against
the idea, but there are a number of people who fight for the idea to legalize Marijuana. The people that
try to Legalize Marijuana use two major arguments in their effort to have marijuana legalized. First,
which is by far the biggest argument is that marijuana has a significant medical use. The second is that
marijuana does not cause harm to those that smoke it. Both of these arguments can be easily
discounted by the numerous studies that have been done on the effects of marijuana both medicinal
and recreational. Many well intentioned leaders and members of the public have been misled by the

The fact is that there is not one reliable scientific study that shows smoking marijuana to be a safe and
effective drug.
The majority of the marijuana advocates evidence comes from unscientific, non scrutinized or

individuals used marijuana prior to their illness or are using marijuana in combination with other
medicines. It is also unknown whether they have had recent medical examinations, are justifying their
use of marijuana, experiencing a placebo effect, or experiencing the intoxicating effect of smoking
marijuana. The main psychoactive ingredient in marijuana (THC) is already legally available in
pharmaceutical capsule form by prescription from medical doctors. This drug, Marinol, is less often
prescribed because of the potential adverse effects, and there are more effective new medicines
currently available. Marinol differs from the crude plant marijuana because it consists of one pure,

The Logic Of Regional Integration
According from the concept of economic integration, which defined by Mattli Walter in his book (The
Logic of Regional Integration. Europe and Beyond). Although, the regional integration can describe in
many different aspects of cooperation, but it is mostly used in a condition of economy and
international trade. Integration then becomes economic integration and can be defined as the voluntary
linking in the economic domain of two or more formerly independent states to the extent that authority
over key areas of domestic regulation and policy is shifted to the supranational level . (Mattli 1999)

In both stories, the reader is unsure if the character s mind company. However, Sissy proves to be

For instance in the text Sissy states, I was just fooling around, don t get so worked up. This shows
manipulation because Sissy has lied about intentionally drowning Emma and said it was fun in order
for Emma to think that Sissy was not trying to hurt her, so that they can be together longer. Another
example of manipulation on Sissy s part is when Dulcie states, There it s gone! I don t want to hear
another word about this. It s a case of teenage vandalism. This demonstrates how Sissy is
manipulative because Sissy tricked Dulcie into thinking that it was immature teenagers that destroyed
her paintings when it was Sissy. Even if Dulcie did think that Sissy did do it deep, down inside, Sissy
still manipulated her because Dulcie will think she is back and that now she has to tell the truth about
what she had really done. The last example in which Sissy has proven she can be manipulative is
when she says, What if I throw Edith in the lake? Do you want her enough to jump in and get her?
This shows how Sissy is conniving because she deceived Emma to leap into the water, knowing that
Emma could not swim and drown. Sissy has demonstrated throughout the novel to be

Epstein (1995) has developed a framework of six types of family involvement, which as described by
Bull et al. (2008), is a useful tool for understanding how building these effective partnerships between
the school, teachers, families/whānau and communities can be beneficial to the students learning.
These six principles are the overlapping spheres of influence that acknowledge that the educators,

exceptionally life enhancing and teachers themselves can learn from this by looking into Moll s

Stray Animals From Jackson County
Stray Animals in Jackson County As you drive through the curvy roads here in Jackson County, you
experience many things, such as the sharp curves, random pot holes, and of course you can t forget
about the dead animals or starving strays you pass every now and then. Stray animals are an issue
most everywhere in the U.S, Jackson County is no different than anywhere else in that sense. What
really makes us different is the fact that we have all of these pitiful stray animals that are starving and
freezing, some even being ran over, and we choose to ignore the problem. Some people in the
community may say there s nothing we can do other than ignoring the issue. I see otherwise, although
it may not be possible to solve this problem completely, there are still some possible solutions. For
example, one of the possible solutions for this issue could be to add an animal shelter, or an animal
rescue center somewhere within the community or county. Adding an animal shelter, or animal rescue
center would open up a temporary source of food and shelter for these stray animals within the
community. According to ASPCA More than 35% of cats are acquired as strays. ( Pet Statistics. ) That

American Slavery Essay
Enormous changes swept through nearly every facet of American society in the years between the
American Revolution and the Civil War, and the institution of slavery was no exception to this rule.
Prior to the Revolution, slavery existed in every American colony. The growing population of settlers
was founded on and maintained by notions of inequality, in which indentured servants and slaves
provided the necessary manpower for the development of a largely agricultural economy and the
settlement of an ever diminishing frontier. First and second generation whites began to equate race and
servitude as white indentured servitude waned and black slaves came to represent the primary source

As natural increase and an end to the importation of African slaves stabilized the slave population,
new generations of Creole slaves began to form a distinctive African American culture. At the same
time, most white slaveholders were now fourth or fifth generation masters who lived and worked near
their slaves and took a keen interest in their welfare and affairs. A new felt paternalism both improved
the physical treatment and condition of slaves and served to further restrict and dictate their lives. The
rise of evangelicalism in the 1830s provided Southern whites with a justification for demanding
obedience by focusing on individual piety and salvation in the hereafter; in the North, by contrast, that
new religious fervor became an impetus for social reform and empowered some whites to try to rid the
world of its many evils, including slavery. Slavery underwent significant changes as the country
moved from the colonial to the antebellum era. The American slavery of 1760 1861 was shaped by the
political, economic, and religious changes affecting the nation as a whole; the latter day manifestation
of slavery was both a major departure from and an indisputable product of the earlier institution.
Following the American Revolution, whites subscribed to new egalitarian notions of government and
liberty throughout the United States. By the time of Independence, slavery was an established facet of
American society, but the

Examples Of Knights In Beowulf And Sir Gawain And The...
Based on the literature that we have read and the films that we have seen in the past, knights are
depicted as these honorable, noble heroes. They follow a strict set of rules, going to extreme lengths to
uphold their knightly name. Interestingly enough, the knights in Monty Python and the Holy Grail
seem to understand their chivalrous ideals and aspirations, yet never seem to be able to fulfill it. Due
to the knights in the movie never achieving their honorable goals, we are able to get a good laugh out
of their mistakes. In Beowulf and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight , knights are characterized as
warriors, vigilant protectors, ready to face their worst fears; meanwhile, in Monty Python and the
Holy Grail, their knights seem to have never faced any kind of danger in all their lives. For instance,
in Beowulf, a brave, young knight protected his king against a great evil, a dragon ruthlessly
protecting its gold, never once considering abandoning him. In example, the dragon was a terrifying
obstacle, eagerly awaiting their fight to the death. While many of Beowulf s knights fled, one brave
man, Wiglaf, stayed behind to help his king acquire the treasure he was so adamantly fighting for. This
young man, though presented with the overbearing curse of death, persevered in the honor of his
name. Wiglaf was the honest version of a knight; loyal, brave, heroic. He did everything in his power
to help his king, refusing to ever flee, regardless if it could cause him to pay the

Big Potholes Short Story
Life is like a dirt road. It is sometimes smooth and easy. But, it is mostly bumpy. In the beginning of
8th grade was small potholes. Then, unexpectedly, a huge bump hit me hard. But, before you know it,
I was cruising along once again. The smooth road at first, until it got kinda bumpy. During the end of
the summer I started to talk to this guy... His name was George. He was super nice to me and talk to
me like I was a princess. But, after school started everything got different. Homecoming weekend
changed everything the most. Friday night we went to the game together then since he was a year
older than me he was in 9th grade and he went to homecoming with his friends on saturday. We also

completely taken down. First, my closest friends turned against me. Second, they spreaded horrible
rumors about me. Lastly, some guy older than me, that I don t even talk to at all started posting things
online about me. Saying names, untrue things and posting pictures of just my smile. I don t know why
people only picked on my teeth. I started not eating, not going to school. This meant my grades
declined horribly. After that, I was too scared to show my face to anyone. I never really smiled fully in
pictures... The drama and words ate me alive. Finally, I told my mother, depression was a hard
challenge for me and that I hated to look in the mirror, I cried myself to sleep more than I didn t. The
only thing that made me happy was telling myself everything will be okay in the end. During this time
I surrounded myself with family and friends that made me happy. I m so thankful I had such

Allyson Wells Effects of News Media The development of mass media had drastically changed over
the last century and will continue to change. These advancements offer society a variety of avenues to

Information Media and Social Responsibility
Most major information media outlets do provide a social responsibility to provide fact based

It is very common for the news media to cover political topics that impact our society and American
culture. Presidential campaigns are becoming increasingly vicious as news sources dig up harmful dirt
to impact approval ratings and the candidates chances of winning the election. The world witnessed
the name calling and dirt throwing in the last presidential campaign of 2016. The information
distributed by the various news media sites impacted the opinions and voting of many Americans. The
tragic event of 9/11 had a lasting impact on the American people and their stance on War. The
information received from the government and news media made many Americans feel ok with going
to war and that is was the necessary thing to do. Sometimes the information presented my not always
to the full story as society is told only what they want them to hear. The issue around Prop 8 and the
right for marriage equality was also a hot topic that got a lot of attention. Religious people felt like
marriage should only be between a man and a woman as other people felt like all people deserve equal
rights and denying the right for same sex marriage was a violation of civil rights. Soon after the LGBT
community was granted the right to marry, the media covered many hate crimes and attacks on the
LGBT community. These stories are what the news media used to sell papers and continue the

in the company began in the 1970s, when the Conway children earned extra money by putting
adhesive on the back of Arrowhead fasteners. They had all done odd jobs for FFr, but of the seven
children only three worked in the business as adults. Kevin, the eldest, joined in the early 1980s and

World hunger is a serious problem that I would rebel for. It is wrong to see so much food being thrown

How Did The Treaty Of Versailles Treaty Affect Germany
On June 28, 1919, Germany and the Allies signed The Treaty of Versailles. The treaty established
strict punitive damages in Germany. However, Germany was greatly affected by three significant
cases.
The first case was the physical result of the Treaty. Germany suffered a major territorial loss, for
example, the provinces of Alsace and Lorraine were returned to France and it was not only their
territories but Germany itself. Therefore Germany lost over one million square miles of land.
The second case is about the economic impact of the Treaty. The Treaty of Versailles criticized
Germany for begging the war. This makes Germany responsible for the cost of the war. Reparations
would be paid monthly and would total some £6,600 million. In addition,

Hamilton Vs The Lion King
There are few shows in the history of Broadway and musical theatre that can claim to have ever had
the popularity and mass intrigue as Lin Manuel Miranda s smash hit, historical musical Hamilton. The
two hour rap based musical tells the story of America s founding father Alexander Hamilton from his
immigration to New York to rise in power amongst the first presidential cabinet and ultimate death at
the hands of a former ally. Gaining support from celebrities and President Obama only furthered the
popularity of the musical that continues to boast being sold out over a year in advance. And while this
mega popularity has proven an amazing achievement for Hamilton, there has been some question as to
whether or not Broadway and the world of music ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After all, shouldn t the surge of new audience be able to fill up the empty seats in other shows? This is
unfortunately not the case. As explained by several producers, sheer cost from popularity may be
bringing down audience attendance. The top price is now $850, but the headlines trumpet scalper
prices of $5,000 and up. And it appears that people want to see Hamilton so much, they re willing to
pay those prices for seats months, even a year, in advance. What they re not willing to do is to spend
big on Hamilton and see something else in the meantime (Riedel). This type of splurging behavior has
left other shows in the dark and unable to fill seats forcing them to close. The most prominent example
being Shuffle Along, which despite featuring one of the most well known actresses on Broadway,
Audra McDonald, closed after only a few months (Playbill). The sweeping change is most noticeable
to the majority of the public however, through the Annual Tony Awards. While the nominations have
proven to be fairly spread across the board of shows, the sweeping wins of Hamilton have changed the
way in which producers seek to advertise and attract ticket buyers. So why large budget productions
have been able to afford the costs of added print materials, smaller less popular productions have
resorted to more consumer based TV ads

When I got home that day, I did my homework started to play my Xbox. While I was playing, I started
to think of all the pros of going out for wrestling. I was think for about a minute when I came up with

The first con that I thought of was that I would have a lot less free time than usual. Wrestling practices
starts at 3:15 and ends at 5:00, by the time I get home and showered up that leaves me with only a
couple hours to get my homework done. I know it sounds like a lot of time, but it isn t for a teenager
who wants to have time to play his Xbox. Another con is, I would have to get up at 6:30 for
Wednesday practices because practice starts at 6:45 in the morning! The reason why they do that after
school is because some kids go to a youth group after school on Wednesdays. The third and final con
that I have been, I could get mat diseases or an injury. If you don t know what a mat disease is, it is a
disease that you get from wrestling on a sweaty mat. Some examples are ring worm, impetigo (that I
have had), boils and many more. When I got impetigo, I had to sit out for three practices and a meet!
An injury that you can get can be a broken neck (or any bone) or cauliflower ear. I know now that you
can get broken bones because one of my friends broke Draydens arm by trying a chicken wing on him.
Another injury that I had myself was when we were practicing a mat return where you pull someone

because my foot got caught on his ankle when he dragged me. It hurt for ten minutes but then I was

The Abuse of Alcohol by College Students
Alcohol and the abuse of it by college students is a big problem that many college towns such as Iowa
City, Iowa, are facing. With increasingly more students drinking alcohol, what was once just a casual
drink can quickly turn into binge drinking. This behavior has many consequences for not only the
student, but also the public. By being resilient and working together as a community, we all could
make it easier to combat this problem of binge drinking in college students in Iowa City and the
troubles that arise from it. Binge drinking is defined as the consumption of alcohol that raises a person
s blood alcohol concentration in a short amount of time. This usually means five or more drinks for
men and four or more drinks for women within a two hour time span. Although most college students
are not able to drink alcohol legally until their junior year, studies have shown that about four out of
five college students drink alcohol before the legal age of twenty one. Of these college students who
drink, about half of them engage in binge drinking. Binge drinking increases the risk of alcohol
poisoning, a condition that could result in death. This level of drinking has also been shown to
increase the risk of committing suicide and/or being a victim of sexual assault. Between 1.2 and 1.5
percent of college students say they have tried commit suicide and more than 97,000 college students
are sexually abused as a result of alcohol or drug use. (Warren) Binge drinking also affects

The Effects of Globalization: Stopping Wars and Decimating Identities
How many technological devices do you use daily? In this day and age, the list would probably
include smart phones, laptop computers, tablets, or more, but do you know where these devices were
made? Even if your device was assembled locally, there is a good chance that the parts inside come
from a collaboration of companies working together from all over the globe that are part of the global
supply chain. For the last few decades, more and more companies rely on outsourcing, to produce
their products and to provide services. Which, in effect, has globalized our world and depends on
countries being able to collaborate and work together to provide the products and services demanded
by the customers at the end of the supply chain. As an example, journalist and author Thomas L.
Friedman describes the global collaboration that took place in the production of a Dell laptop he had
ordered, in his article, The Dell Theory of Conflict Prevention, from his book The World is Flat.
Friedman speaks of the flattening of the world, which is an international equalization of business
competition, facilitated by increasing interconnectedness. He proposes that because of this flattening
of the globe, the countries involved in the supply chains are hesitant to be involved in war because
they do not want to risk losing their place in the supply chain and the higher standard of living that
comes with it. These countries are

Jesus Is The Christ Of Jesus
We as Christians know that Jesus is the Messiah. Jesus was born in Bethlehem during the reign of
Herod the Great, around 4 to 6 B.C. At the age of 30, he was baptized by John the Baptist in the
Jordan River. After this he began his ministry teaching about the kingdom of God and preforming
miracles. His life in recorded in the New Testament part of the bible and many movies have been
made about him, such as the 1977 classic, Jesus of Nazareth. In this movie, Jesus performs many
miracles including raising people from the dead. His actions show us how God treats people and how
he should be treated. Jesus resurrected Lazarus from the dead because Lazarus and his family had a
strong faith in God. After this Lazarus became one of Jesus closest friends. His faith resurrected him,
Jesus was just the catalyst. Jesus declared that the people who believed in him will die, yet they will
live. What I believe this means is that although people will physically die in this life, they will
continue to live with God forever in Heaven. When Jesus came to the temple, he lost his temper and
destroyed the market shops. He claimed that the temple was God s house and it should not be
corrupted with buying and gambling. It was a holy place and yet the people thought nothing about
defiling it. When the woman who was caught committing adultery was about to be stoned, Jesus said
to the men chasing her, the one who hasn t sinned shall throw the first stone. No one dared cast the

texture, furrowed and scaly. Moss had crawled its way up the majestic trunk, very thin tangles of
green mass that swallowed the roots, jutting from the earth. Just sitting there, I could smell the sweet
fresh air, rain brought; It s safe aroma. It was crisp and clean, mixing ... Show more content on

My clothes fluttered violently against the rough wind. The trees leaves shuffling anxiously, for it knew
of the quickly approaching rain. The dark clouds could not hold in the heavy water anymore and,
softly the rain began to fall upon the tree in soft pattering drops, falling like rivulets among the leaves.
The leaves let the water fall even further until it reach my skin, slowly it rolled to the already wet
ground. More of the warm shower fell on me, soft to the touch, almost like velvet flower petals. The
petals had soon soaked me, clothes clung to my skin, and hair stuck to my face. The petals with the
smooth, light texture, had me floating away like the running stream along the sidewalks, flowing
quietly to where ever they desired. I was disappearing along with the water, fleeing like flower

With the rising evolution of businesses, the evolution of business and institution data security has also
evolved exceptionally. Various data security methods have been devised to ensure that vulnerability is
mitigated but at the same time cyber criminals such as hackers have also evolved their data hacking

There has been developed even more severe and dynamic viruses that are used to hack various

Iranian institutions by an adversary (unsubstantially claimed to be Israel or U.S.A) that is able to
penetrate various Iranian systems and control their nuclear reactors, destroy oil pipelines and so on.
The Iranian government has not been able to counter this virus as it is extensively dynamic and
utilizes system weakness points or holes known as zero days. It has been used to shut more than a
thousand of their systems and thus the need for them to redesign their security system and

A High School Story
I m different because everyone else is not me. This as written by Julian Aguilar, a famous screenwriter
for Hollywood films. It was my first day at a real school, preschool doesn t count, and I was starting
first grade, since I skipped kindergarten. It wasn t always easy being the youngest in your entire grade,
and sometimes, the whole school, but I made it through and even got into GATE. That s what this
story is all about. Are you ready for your first day of school? my mom asked me. I sure am! I said. She
asks me if I m excited and I told her how enthusiastic and anxious I was. When she drives me to my
new school, I got more and more pumped. I can hardly wait! As uneasy as I was, though, I was also
honored to be the only five year old in first grade. We re here! my mom exclaimed as she pulled into a
parking lot. There was a sign that said: Ladera Elementary School. Awesome! I m not in preschool
anymore, I m an older girl! I exclaimed. That s right pumpkin, my mom gave me a huge bear hug.
Now, let s go meet the principal, shall we? We went into the office and met the principal, then, the
principal , introduced me to my teacher, Mrs. Scott, and some new friends, Cassandra, Skylar,
MacKenzie, and Madison. During the time we were in the office, my mom had signed a form that I
didn t really pay attention to it, but a few weeks later, she drove me to a place that isn t school, and I
got really worried. Mom, where are you taking me? She said that she was going

Summary Of The Alchemist
1.Throughout this story, the author structured the plot in a very fulfilling manner. The plot is
constructed so that all the events that occurred are deeply connected to one another. Each of the
characters experiences correlates with their past actions and will affect the outcomes they will receive
later on in the story. A great example of this would be Santiago s encounter with the King of Salem
when Santiago was on the brink of giving up his personal legend. Santiago s encounter with the King
was the inspiration and wisdom he needed in order to set out and follow his lifelong dream. Since
most of the story revolves around Santiago s journey, it is clear that this considerable event is the basis
of The Alchemist s whole storyline. Another excellent example that proves this would be when
Santiago met the alchemist while traveling in the desert. This happened as a result of Santiago s ability
to read and interpret omens, which he learned from the King of Salem. While with the alchemist,
Santiago gained a more profound understanding on Alchemy, Personal Legends, and the Language of
the World. A large portion of the message the author wanted to pass on to the readers occurred during
Santiago s travels with the alchemist. This influential event in the story eventually led to Santiago
fulfilling his Personal legend, which was the main intention of the story, ever since its exposition.
2. I highly agree with this statement which says that as people age, pursuing our lifelong

Short Story Samuel By Grace Paley
Samuel Death is an inevitable event. Most times we have no control over how or when it will happen
and in the short story, Samuel, by Grace Paley, a young boy loses his life while he and his friends
partake in a very dangerous game. An unfortunate situation, it was and it leaves you to ask yourself
the question Who s to blame? After thoroughly reading the story, it becomes quite clear that though
the boys were taking a huge risk and acting childish, they were just kids being kids and the people
surrounding them could have done more to help them. The onlookers couldn t have known what
would happen, but they also didn t do much to prevent such a tragedy. The four young boys in the
story Samuel are acting careless and risky as they think ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Among the people watching was a group of ladies who were very angry as they watched the boys.
Most of them looked stern in the face, hoping that the boys would sense their extreme disapproval.
One of the ladies stated she wanted to get up and say, be careful you dumb kids, get off that platform
or I ll call a cop. But then decided against it because they boys were Black and she was afraid they
would laugh at her and embarrass her. Another lady figured the kid s mothers knew where they were
so she didn t feel the need to intrude. With no interference from anyone the boys continued on playing
around and the train began to slow down and as it was slowing down the lady who was afraid of
embarrassment, saw the boys jerk forward and backward and grab the swinging guard chains. The
lady then decided it was finally time to save the boys for good so she stood up determined as ever and
went over to the boys and said, You boys will be hurt. You ll be killed. I m going to call the conductor
if you don t just go into the next car and sit down and be quiet. Listening to the lady two of the boys
said Yes m and acted as if they were about to go. The other two boys just looked at her and blinked
their eyes. Moments later just, as she suspected the boys began laughing at her and she was just as
embarrassed as she thought she would be. Fed up by this time, one

Jdt1 Task 1
Lester Smith (Smith) has owned a 20 acre parcel of land in the City of Lilliput, Minnesota since 1980.
Seven acres consist of wetland, and on the remaining 13, Mr. Smith has built a large house, a barn,
and an outdoor horse riding arena that he operates as a business. In 2005, Smith decided to build a
second barn including an indoor riding arena.
While reviewing the site plan, city staff noticed that the proposed barn was within 75 feet of Smith s 7
acre wetland. A State of Minnesota statute, adopted in 1985, required government municipalities to
establish a minimum 50 foot buffer as the standard for protecting water quality in state wetlands.
Lilliput enacted this policy, but in 1990 the city increased the size of the buffer to 150 feet from a
surface wetland. This was based upon City Council concerns that Lilliput s heavy farming and cattle
ranching could pose a threat to the preservation of the wetlands. During the review process, Smith
claimed that a city staff member informed him that the new barn did not qualify as structure (under the
state and city statute, the buffer zone only applied to structures). However, in final review, the City
Council denied Smith s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Based on research completed by University of Minnesota soil scientists, the state mandates that every
wetland should be protected by a 50 foot buffer zone. The City of Lilliput, a rural town located 30
miles north of St. Cloud, Minnesota, increased the buffer zone to150 feet in1990 within their
municipality. The rationale behind Lilliput s increase was because the town is zoned for
predominantly rural uses, i.e. farming and cattle ranching. Due to the animal wasted and farmers use
of pesticides on their crops, the Town Council felt that increasing the buffer around surrounding
wetlands would better protect it from these sources of contamination than would the state minimum of

Human Rights Of The Middle East Essay
After the Arab Spring movements in the Middle East, which embodied people s demands for more
democratic governance, overthrew the leaders of Tunisia and Egypt, the revolt, in 2011, eventually
reached Libya where the central leader, Muammar Gaddafi, had exercised 42 years of dictatorship.
Such movements inevitably led to the suppression from the central government and Gaddafi launched
a full scale campaign in cracking down the opposition. The crackdown eventually attracted
international anxiety when sufficient evidence suggested that Gaddafi was planning a massacre of
civilians in Benghazi. Therefore, in response to such predicted human rights disaster, the international
community intervened in Libya for the universal cause of protecting human rights. And of course,
human rights protection has always been a fundamental principle for American leadership and such
intervention certainly manifested America s resolution to promote human rights abroad, although there
was time when the Untied States failed to embrace human rights. However, the disparity in policies
and other national interests among the western countries (especially, France, the U.K. and the U.S.),
the ignorance of the role played by the local Islamic extremists and the failures to stick to the UNSC
resolution 1973 and explore political alternatives eventually led to the turmoil in current Libya. In
fact, the political concept or mechanism for human rights intervention had already been discussed and
established

The Importance Of Perseverance
Perseverance is failing 19 times then succeeding the 20th time Julie Andrews. This means that you are
going to hit many bumps in the road but there is always times where you can push through and make
the most of their life. As defined by Dictionary.com perseverance is a steady persistence in a course of
action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement. The
synonyms are Dedication , Determination , and Diligence . The antonyms for this word are Apathy ,
Cowardice , and Weakness . This is important because people need to persevere to get through life s
tough challenges and make the most of it even when times are tough. In the real world this looks like
people trying to get through the day even though money is tight. This doesn t not look like people just
sitting around not doing anything to try to help themselves if they don t have job. The first example
where perseverance is shown is that when in the book Glory Road Coach Don Haskins was
scrimmaging at college and he is left in all day with no breaks. Later when he got home he took off his
sock and the skin on the ball of his foot fell off because he ran so much. The next day he goes to the
athletic trainer s room and tapes the skin back on his feet. The second example where perseverance is
shown is when the Japanese Americans were persecuted during WWII based on their nationality and
people lost their jobs, businesses, and were left with nothing and were

Media Influence
Media is a huge part of people s lives in today s society. Through different forms of media people can
now obtain vast amounts of information at the slightest touch of a finger. While it is convenient and
comforting to have access to so much data, the question arises. How much of this information we
receive shapes our lives? Mass media as an agent of socialization can prime and/or skew people s
belief system through mere exposure without the slightest clue of it affects. Mass media as an agent of
socialization can structure people s perception on society as a whole by simply using influence,
control, and trust.
Literature Review
Influence
Media influence is the force by which ideas are injected into people s lives shaping the very culture of
society. This influence is masqueraded through hidden media message, resulting in a change in its
audience which can be positive or negative, abrupt or gradual, short term or long term. Although mass
media s influential effect can reach a wide ranged audience as an agent of socialization the
responsibility to contain what it releases has not been of importance. The media s socially significant
obligations are formally ignored. (A.S. Zapesotskii, 2011, p 9). Media messages can be exerted
through many different outlets such as TV shows, music, movies, commercials, news, magazines,
games which are all gravitated to entertain audiences ultimately offering personal gratification that can
sometimes blur the lines between reality and

In this field I have encountered many problems especially since my promotion. Being that I was a waitress for 4 years and then being promoted as manager. I feel I have encountered more problems now than ever. I believe a lot of my staff has a problem with transition. I have worked around many of my coworkers for so long that I do not believe they see the difference in me as a manager now and a waitress then. They complain about hosting issues, Tip out, and issues with the time for getting bar drinks. As far as I know from the servers their issues with the host were double seating them and not giving them time to greet the next customer in sufficient time. My solution was to talk to the host and to get them to better communicate with the servers so this problem would not continue. So far I have not heard anything so I believe that the problem is under control. Another issue they had was tipping out the bussers. Their concern was that the waitress did more that pre bus the tables so they felt they should not have to tip the busser. So I had to do a little investigating and I spoke with some of the bussers and they inform me that the servers intentionally bus their tables so they would not have to tip out. I spoke with servers and inform them all that they know what policy is and is not for them to bus their own tables. I also mentioned that maybe that is why they are having problems with greeting their tables on time. I explain to the server that had they come to me sooner they would not have these issues. Last but not least the server last concern was about getting their bar drinks out in a timely manner. So I had to go speak with my bartenders and see what their take on the situation was. The bartenders felt like they were understaffed and it was not enough people to run the bar and get the servers drinks also. So After watching the bartenders for about 5 shifts ... Security Issues and Principles Research Paper SECURITY ISSUES AND PRINCIPLES STEGANOGRAPHY [n. stə nóggrəfi] Steganography (literally meaning covered writing) dates back to ancient Greece, where common practices consisted of etching messages in wooden tablets and covering them with wax, and tattooing a shaved messenger s head, letting his hair grow back, and then shaving it again when he arrived at his contact point. Steganography comes from the Greek steganos, or covered, and graphie, or writing . Provos developed detection and cracking tools to analyze images for signs of steganography, such as overly large files and uneven bit mapping. He tested the tools and then used them to compare 2 million images on San Jose based eBay Inc. s Web site, which has been cited as a possible place for posting and retrieving hidden messages. Provos found no cases of steganography. IT303.Security Issues and Principles Page 2 of 17 Steganography becomes the focus of attention, dies down, and then the public is all over it again, says Provos. But it will never be pervasive, because the amount of data you can actually hide in the images is fairly small. And if someone wanted to steal intellectual property, it d be easier to copy the data on a disk and carry it out in your pocket. Even if steganography is present, forensics experts prefer to start by investigating less complex areas. However, in some cases, the only evidence might be hidden in image or sound files, so investigators need to be aware of steganography and the tools used to detect and crack it, say experts. It s ... They are described as mirror images of each other, that is they are non superimposable. They have similar physical properties but differs in some chemical properties. The two different arrangements are classifieds as L and D , depending upon the functional group of reference. In human beings, sugars are present in D configuration whereas amino acids are present in L configuration. To address the reason behind the specificity of the configuration of the macromolecules in human beings, various theories have been proposed. Some of these theories talk about the abiotic origin of these macromolecules and some about the biotic origin of these macromolecules. The abiotic theories talk about the environmental conditions and accidental imbalance in the concentration of the two forms during the process of evolution which led to an abundance of one of the forms. Stray animals are an issue most everywhere in the U.S, Jackson County is no different than anywhere else in that sense. What really makes us different is the fact that we have all of these pitiful stray animals that are starving and freezing, some even being ran over, and we choose to ignore the problem. Some people in the community may say there s nothing we can do other than ignoring the issue. I see otherwise, although it may not be possible to solve this problem completely, there are still some possible solutions. For example, one of the possible solutions for this issue could be to add an animal shelter, or an animal rescue center somewhere within the community or county. Adding an animal shelter, or animal rescue center would open up a temporary source of food and shelter for these stray animals within the community. • 18. American Slavery Essay Enormous changes swept through nearly every facet of American society in the years between the American Revolution and the Civil War, and the institution of slavery was no exception to this rule. Prior to the Revolution, slavery existed in every American colony. The growing population of settlers was founded on and maintained by notions of inequality, in which indentured servants and slaves provided the necessary manpower for the development of a largely agricultural economy and the settlement of an ever diminishing frontier. First and second generation whites began to equate race and servitude as white indentured servitude waned and black slaves came to represent the primary source of forced labor in the Americas. In the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As natural increase and an end to the importation of African slaves stabilized the slave population, new generations of Creole slaves began to form a distinctive African American culture. At the same time, most white slaveholders were now fourth or fifth generation masters who lived and worked near their slaves and took a keen interest in their welfare and affairs. A new felt paternalism both improved the physical treatment and condition of slaves and served to further restrict and dictate their lives. The rise of evangelicalism in the 1830s provided Southern whites with a justification for demanding obedience by focusing on individual piety and salvation in the hereafter; in the North, by contrast, that new religious fervor became an impetus for social reform and empowered some whites to try to rid the world of its many evils, including slavery. Slavery underwent significant changes as the country moved from the colonial to the antebellum era. The American slavery of 1760 1861 was shaped by the political, economic, and religious changes affecting the nation as a whole; the latter day manifestation of slavery was both a major departure from and an indisputable product of the earlier institution. Following the American Revolution, whites subscribed to new egalitarian notions of government and liberty throughout the United States. • 19. Examples Of Knights In Beowulf And Sir Gawain And The... Based on the literature that we have read and the films that we have seen in the past, knights are depicted as these honorable, noble heroes. They follow a strict set of rules, going to extreme lengths to uphold their knightly name. Interestingly enough, the knights in Monty Python and the Holy Grail seem to understand their chivalrous ideals and aspirations, yet never seem to be able to fulfill it. Due to the knights in the movie never achieving their honorable goals, we are able to get a good laugh out of their mistakes. In Beowulf and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight , knights are characterized as warriors, vigilant protectors, ready to face their worst fears; meanwhile, in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, their knights seem to have never faced any kind of danger in all their lives. For instance, in Beowulf, a brave, young knight protected his king against a great evil, a dragon ruthlessly protecting its gold, never once considering abandoning him. In example, the dragon was a terrifying obstacle, eagerly awaiting their fight to the death. While many of Beowulf s knights fled, one brave man, Wiglaf, stayed behind to help his king acquire the treasure he was so adamantly fighting for. This young man, though presented with the overbearing curse of death, persevered in the honor of his name. Wiglaf was the honest version of a knight; loyal, brave, heroic. And it appears that people want to see Hamilton so much, they re willing to pay those prices for seats months, even a year, in advance. With increasingly more students drinking alcohol, what was once just a casual drink can quickly turn into binge drinking. This behavior has many consequences for not only the student, but also the public. By being resilient and working together as a community, we all could make it easier to combat this problem of binge drinking in college students in Iowa City and the troubles that arise from it. Binge drinking is defined as the consumption of alcohol that raises a person s blood alcohol concentration in a short amount of time. This usually means five or more drinks for men and four or more drinks for women within a two hour time span. Although most college students are not able to drink alcohol legally until their junior year, studies have shown that about four out of five college students drink alcohol before the legal age of twenty one. Of these college students who drink, about half of them engage in binge drinking. Binge drinking increases the risk of alcohol poisoning, a condition that could result in death. This level of drinking has also been shown to increase the risk of committing suicide and/or being a victim of sexual assault. For the last few decades, more and more companies rely on outsourcing, to produce their products and to provide services. His life in recorded in the New Testament part of the bible and many movies have been made about him, such as the 1977 classic, Jesus of Nazareth. In this movie, Jesus performs many miracles including raising people from the dead. His actions show us how God treats people and how he should be treated. Jesus resurrected Lazarus from the dead because Lazarus and his family had a strong faith in God. After this Lazarus became one of Jesus closest friends. His faith resurrected him, Jesus was just the catalyst. Jesus declared that the people who believed in him will die, yet they will live. What I believe this means is that although people will physically die in this life, they will continue to live with God forever in Heaven. When Jesus came to the temple, he lost his temper and destroyed the market shops. He claimed that the temple was God s house and it should not be corrupted with buying and gambling. It was a holy place and yet the people thought nothing about defiling it. When the woman who was caught committing adultery was about to be stoned, Jesus said to the men chasing her, the one who hasn t sinned shall throw the first stone. No one dared cast the first stone ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Observation In High School Looking out the window, anyone could see from the dark, shady sky, it was going to rain. It was the end of freshman year, end of spring, early summer, and everyone had formed their study groups to study for the Algebra final the following week. I, however, wasn t in a group and kept to myself, in my corner by the window. I had no interest in studying and instead was captivated by the dim, warms, of the outside world. As a freshman in highschool, I hated school and showed little interest in it. Staring out the window, I had zoned out, then I was sitting outside under a large tree. The leaves rustling above me, shaking side to side in a smooth swing. It s pretty bark, composed of multiple layers, dug into my back. Roots grabbed the earth, its large knots exposed. The old bark felt rough, with its unique texture, furrowed and scaly. Moss had crawled its way up the majestic trunk, very thin tangles of green mass that swallowed the roots, jutting from the earth. Just sitting there, I could smell the sweet fresh air, rain brought; It s safe aroma. It was crisp and clean, mixing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My clothes fluttered violently against the rough wind. The trees leaves shuffling anxiously, for it knew of the quickly approaching rain. The dark clouds could not hold in the heavy water anymore and, softly the rain began to fall upon the tree in soft pattering drops, falling like rivulets among the leaves. The leaves let the water fall even further until it reach my skin, slowly it rolled to the already wet ground. More of the warm shower fell on me, soft to the touch, almost like velvet flower petals. The petals had soon soaked me, clothes clung to my skin, and hair stuck to my face. The petals with the smooth, light texture, had me floating away like the running stream along the sidewalks, flowing quietly to where ever they desired. I was disappearing along with the water, fleeing like flower ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. A High School Story I m different because everyone else is not me. This as written by Julian Aguilar, a famous screenwriter for Hollywood films. It was my first day at a real school, preschool doesn t count, and I was starting first grade, since I skipped kindergarten. It wasn t always easy being the youngest in your entire grade, and sometimes, the whole school, but I made it through and even got into GATE. That s what this story is all about. Are you ready for your first day of school? my mom asked me. I sure am! I said. She asks me if I m excited and I told her how enthusiastic and anxious I was. When she drives me to my new school, I got more and more pumped. I can hardly wait! As uneasy as I was, though, I was also honored to be the only five year old in first grade. We re here! my mom exclaimed as she pulled into a parking lot. There was a sign that said: Ladera Elementary School. Awesome! I m not in preschool anymore, I m an older girl! I exclaimed. That s right pumpkin, my mom gave me a huge bear hug. Now, let s go meet the principal, shall we? We went into the office and met the principal, then, the principal , introduced me to my teacher, Mrs. Scott, and some new friends, Cassandra, Skylar, MacKenzie, and Madison. During the time we were in the office, my mom had signed a form that I didn t really pay attention to it, but a few weeks later, she drove me to a place that isn t school, and I got really worried. • 44. Summary Of The Alchemist 1.Throughout this story, the author structured the plot in a very fulfilling manner. The plot is constructed so that all the events that occurred are deeply connected to one another. Each of the characters experiences correlates with their past actions and will affect the outcomes they will receive later on in the story. A great example of this would be Santiago s encounter with the King of Salem when Santiago was on the brink of giving up his personal legend. Santiago s encounter with the King was the inspiration and wisdom he needed in order to set out and follow his lifelong dream. Since most of the story revolves around Santiago s journey, it is clear that this considerable event is the basis of The Alchemist s whole storyline. Another excellent example that proves this would be when Santiago met the alchemist while traveling in the desert. This happened as a result of Santiago s ability to read and interpret omens, which he learned from the King of Salem. While with the alchemist, Santiago gained a more profound understanding on Alchemy, Personal Legends, and the Language of the World. A large portion of the message the author wanted to pass on to the readers occurred during Santiago s travels with the alchemist. This influential event in the story eventually led to Santiago fulfilling his Personal legend, which was the main intention of the story, ever since its exposition. 2. I highly agree with this statement which says that as people age, pursuing our lifelong ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. Jdt1 Task 1 Lester Smith (Smith) has owned a 20 acre parcel of land in the City of Lilliput, Minnesota since 1980. Seven acres consist of wetland, and on the remaining 13, Mr. Smith has built a large house, a barn, and an outdoor horse riding arena that he operates as a business. In 2005, Smith decided to build a second barn including an indoor riding arena. While reviewing the site plan, city staff noticed that the proposed barn was within 75 feet of Smith s 7 acre wetland. A State of Minnesota statute, adopted in 1985, required government municipalities to establish a minimum 50 foot buffer as the standard for protecting water quality in state wetlands. Lilliput enacted this policy, but in 1990 the city increased the size of the buffer to 150 feet from a surface wetland. This was based upon City Council concerns that Lilliput s heavy farming and cattle ranching could pose a threat to the preservation of the wetlands. During the review process, Smith claimed that a city staff member informed him that the new barn did not qualify as structure (under the state and city statute, the buffer zone only applied to structures). However, in final review, the City Council denied Smith s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Based on research completed by University of Minnesota soil scientists, the state mandates that every wetland should be protected by a 50 foot buffer zone. The City of Lilliput, a rural town located 30 miles north of St. Cloud, Minnesota, increased the buffer zone to150 feet in1990 within their municipality. The rationale behind Lilliput s increase was because the town is zoned for predominantly rural uses, i.e. farming and cattle ranching. Due to the animal wasted and farmers use of pesticides on their crops, the Town Council felt that increasing the buffer around surrounding wetlands would better protect it from these sources of contamination than would the state minimum of 50 ... • 47. Human Rights Of The Middle East Essay After the Arab Spring movements in the Middle East, which embodied people s demands for more democratic governance, overthrew the leaders of Tunisia and Egypt, the revolt, in 2011, eventually reached Libya where the central leader, Muammar Gaddafi, had exercised 42 years of dictatorship. Such movements inevitably led to the suppression from the central government and Gaddafi launched a full scale campaign in cracking down the opposition. The crackdown eventually attracted international anxiety when sufficient evidence suggested that Gaddafi was planning a massacre of civilians in Benghazi. Therefore, in response to such predicted human rights disaster, the international community intervened in Libya for the universal cause of protecting human rights. And of course, human rights protection has always been a fundamental principle for American leadership and such intervention certainly manifested America s resolution to promote human rights abroad, although there was time when the Untied States failed to embrace human rights. However, the disparity in policies and other national interests among the western countries (especially, France, the U.K. and the U.S.), the ignorance of the role played by the local Islamic extremists and the failures to stick to the UNSC resolution 1973 and explore political alternatives eventually led to the turmoil in current Libya. In fact, the political concept or mechanism for human rights intervention had already been discussed and established ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is important because people need to persevere to get through life s tough challenges and make the most of it even when times are tough. In the real world this looks like people trying to get through the day even though money is tight. This doesn t not look like people just sitting around not doing anything to try to help themselves if they don t have job. The first example where perseverance is shown is that when in the book Glory Road Coach Don Haskins was scrimmaging at college and he is left in all day with no breaks. Later when he got home he took off his sock and the skin on the ball of his foot fell off because he ran so much. The next day he goes to the athletic trainer s room and tapes the skin back on his feet. The second example where perseverance is shown is when the Japanese Americans were persecuted during WWII based on their nationality and people lost their jobs, businesses, and were left with nothing and were ... While it is convenient and comforting to have access to so much data, the question arises. How much of this information we receive shapes our lives? Mass media as an agent of socialization can prime and/or skew people s belief system through mere exposure without the slightest clue of it affects. Mass media as an agent of socialization can structure people s perception on society as a whole by simply using influence, control, and trust. Literature Review Influence Media influence is the force by which ideas are injected into people s lives shaping the very culture of society. This influence is masqueraded through hidden media message, resulting in a change in its audience which can be positive or negative, abrupt or gradual, short term or long term. Although mass media s influential effect can reach a wide ranged audience as an agent of socialization the responsibility to contain what it releases has not been of importance. The media s socially significant obligations are formally ignored. (A.S. Zapesotskii, 2011, p 9). Media messages can be exerted through many different outlets such as TV shows, music, movies, commercials, news, magazines, games which are all gravitated to entertain audiences ultimately offering personal gratification that can sometimes blur the lines between reality and ...
